Hop aboard with us, Natalie White and Amilia Gillespie, as we set sail on the Sassy Sisterhood podcast's maiden voyage, dishing out our juiciest stories and heart-fluttering confessions. As if crushes weren't enough drama, tune in to hear about the schoolyard brawl that thrust Jake and Aiden into the spotlight, with Miss Sugar stepping in to referee. We're pulling back the curtain on the school's eyebrow-raising behavior-monitoring strategies, from recess espionage to henna ink interrogations. And let's not forget the complex tapestry of friendships; some intersect, some are just beyond reach, and all require a deft hand to maintain. Join us for a raw, laugh-out-loud exploration of the social labyrinth that is middle school, with all its laughter, heartaches, and the unvarnished truth of what it means to be part of the Sassy Sisterhood.

Speaker 1:

You're listening to the WDYM, the what Do you Mean? Podcast. Now everyone gather around and listen to one of Hamilton's best podcasts. No research to back this up. Your host, Michael Gillespie.

Speaker 2:

Welcome to the WDYM podcast Today. It's not the WDYM podcast, it is the Sassy Sisterhood podcast. We aren't sisters. That was just the best name we could find, and it's our first episode. Let's just get straight into it, okay, so let us introduce ourselves. So I am Natalie White and I am Amelia Gillespie. This is our series called the Sassy Sisterhood. We aren't sisters, we're just best friends. So first we're going to talk about some things that happen in our school.

Speaker 1:

Can I start?

Speaker 2:

Okay. So basically we're going to be talking about. Let's call this boy what do you think we should call him Andrew? Okay, andrew, I like Andrew. Okay, let's call the other boy Chris. I used to like Chris. He was in my fourth grade class and I always used to walk to the buses with him. Now we were like really, really good friends in all, but one day he started liking me when I liked him and then I had stopped liking him and he was still liking me.

Speaker 2:

Now let's skip to fifth grade. I'm in fifth grade right now. I like Andrew and Chris likes me still. He's like obsessed with me. Amelia would know because she is in his class. What do you think about Chris? What do you think about Chris? He is an annoying brat, a wild ugly roach, yeah, Okay, yeah. So he is like super rude because he's my lab partner and I have to deal with him almost every day and I dislike him very much. Okay, basically, I like Andrew. That's just his code name, that's not his real name.

Speaker 2:

And he one day, when we were on the bus going on a field trip, he pranked me with his friends that he wanted to date me. Now, at that point I had a feeling it was a prank because Mike yeah, let's call him Mike, mike, his best, andrew's best friend, had asked himself, and you can always tell when Mike is lying, like it's so fake, and you can tell. Also, chris asked me too, and Amelia was sitting right next to me, so I had a lot of pressure because everybody was asking me, but I was delivering the messages for her because she was like too, like, don't press. I was embarrassed, yeah, embarrassed. So I was like sorry, chris, I don't like you. I'm trying to say this in a nice way possible, but I don't like you Actually.

Speaker 2:

I said that, no, I said that, well, you said that. You told me to say that to Sorry, I just had to be real quick. So they said that and then I figured out that it was a prank. And then, when we got back into the class, I was talking to Andrew and Andrew said so. He said I recessed and I was like wait, you actually want to be at recessing? And then he didn't, he wouldn't answer me. So I stood out there for recess and yeah, he has he. Andrew asked Natalie to be his girlfriend. Okay, and speaking of girlfriend, and boyfriend.

Speaker 2:

Let's get into the definition of dating at our school. So basically, yeah, so basically Dating means you both just have a crush on each other and you guys like hang out a lot and Sometimes only like the popular people, they like kiss. But we'll get into that later. So that's just the definition of dating in our school but we're not popular? Yeah, we're not popular and I don't want to be popular people just know us because People know me.

Speaker 2:

Like a lot of everybody knows me, but not kind of like popular. They know me because they're, because Cole liked me, and it was a huge thing. For a while it was yeah, okay so, and basically, I've Natalie still likes Andrew to this day. So yeah, let's get into PS. His name isn't actually Andrew, you wouldn't guess the name though. So let's get into my situation.

Speaker 2:

Yes, so so first I liked this guy let's call him Alex, and he was like my lab partner and I was like so nervous to talk to him and it was like kind of awkward between us and my neighbor let's call her Lexi, I guess. So my neighbor Lexi, she, I told her I sit on the bus with her in the morning and afternoon and I told her that and I liked Alex and she was like no way, alex is my cousin. Wait, you have to be for real. It was pretty crazy, because she just informed me about that yesterday, like about that it was her neighbor's cousin. Oh yeah, I had no idea and I did not know. I did not know either until like this was like like I've had a crush on him. I had had a crush on him for like four months and I like I could not get over him. And then one day I just took the risk and I went up to go ask him like where you be my boyfriend? Remember, the definition of dating in our school is just liking each other. That's it.

Speaker 1:

And but I don't know, I can say no kissing not, we don't want to kiss, because that is this robbery a furrow.

Speaker 2:

He said, okay, whatever. So he said, like I'm I? He like never responded. He ignored me for like Two weeks and I didn't know the answer until my friends let's call um Evie and Charlie they're one of my two best friends in my class and they went up to him when we had free time in like class. It was like the end of the day we still had like five minutes and we could just talk. So they went over to him and they were like trying to like like get him to like be my like boyfriend and stuff like that and so like yeah, but he ended up saying no and so I just kind of she moved on to a little boy.

Speaker 2:

Well, I'm not gonna say his name, but we're gonna call him Levi. So Levi is like super sweet and I like started liking him, like I've liked him for a good, I've known him for like a, two, like two, I've liked him for like two months now, baby and and like he's one of Alex's best friends and so and so Okay, and so Levi is like super nice, like mature and nice, and so I gate so like there's this thing going on our school or we could, but like that, like my bracelet for one dollar and you could write a little note and you you could even have it delivered or give it to them in person.

Speaker 2:

So I got one for for Levi and I put your super sweet on it and it was like an orange bracelet, and so I gave, like I ran up to him at recess, I gave it to him and I ran away because I was like scared, I didn't want to say anything and then, like he like never told me the answer when I kept asking, and every in all my friends we're like just tell her all the most she'll say is like okay, if it's like a yes or no, because I didn't know the answer. But who is this Levi? Okay, and so I didn't know the answer. And so he finally, finally told me at recess and he this is like he thought of the nicest way possible.

Speaker 2:

She's so happy right now, yeah, about this. And so he said I'm sorry, I'm trying to find like a way not to hurt your feelings and so I think you're super nice. This is how you know you find a man if they're trying to do this, exactly because straight ups and Alex straight ups, and no to me. So, yeah, he said I Try to find the nicest way possible to say this, but I'm sorry, I don't want to be, I can't be your Valentine and I just don't like you, like that. But we could still be friends, of course. And I gave him a jibbit that's a heart that says hug me and and. And he asked me do you want the jibbit and bracelet back? And I said no, you can keep it. He's like that's cool, and I said okay, bye, and he's like of course, we guys so, and so basically, he asked for the jibbit in the bracelet back and he and I said no, you can keep it, and that's cool stuff, like. And he said we can still always be friends and I'm like okay and so.

Speaker 1:

But I still like me.

Speaker 2:

That be okay, I still like him to this like day you buy and then. So yesterday me and Natalie were at a show car competition and you guys don't know what that is. Let me explain it because you've been talking this whole entire time. So it's basically when you sing and dance and you compete Through, like acting again. Yeah, it's, you compete against a bunch of other teams from different schools. There's middle school, high school and you can have single gender and it's really fun. Yeah, sex is like boys and girls, yeah, and it's really fun to compete. And guess what? Levi's sister is in show choir, which is my sister Emma's group. It's called rhythm express and so basically I've heard of rhythm express. Go search it up. It's so basically, um, we never really kind of like literally sat behind, like we were in the gym for awards, and we literally sat Directly behind him and friends.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and some of his friends are really annoying and I could say a lot of things about them, but I'm not going to because, yeah, so then, um, like, I was like so embarrassed and I didn't even want to say this you I want to talk to. They were sitting behind us and she was kind of embarrassed. And then I went over to talk to one of Levi's friends and when I passed by him, levi looked up and he was like oh, hi, amelia. And Amelia got so happy and she was like hi, levi, and yeah, I think that that's how you know, like, even if you don't like chemistry, even if you don't like get your way, you still are gonna be like friends and stuff with the person. Okay, so that's it about my Alex and Levi situation. Yeah, now we're gonna talk about like the popular group and like all those people. So Basically, we have a bunch of different groups. So there's the popular group, the furries, the normal group, like just yeah, and the word in the popular group and yeah, I already.

Speaker 1:

And the jocks. We don't oh yeah, we do, we do have jocks, we have a lot of those.

Speaker 2:

And then, okay, so the popular group we kind of hang out with because, like we're not, we're not popular, but we hang out with them. Like we're not weird, we're normal, but we don't hang out with the normal people, we're hanging out with the popular because that makes sense. If it doesn't, then sorry, yeah, now we're gonna in the popular group we kind of do cheer because it's a lot of girls and there's two girls that like everybody loves. Let's call one of the girls Kate and and One of the girls Lily. Okay, so Kate and Lily, they like are the main people, everybody loves them. They like make it fun, they make the group fun. Let's move on to the physical fights. We have personally Seen this happened before. I've seen more than.

Speaker 2:

Natalie seen. I don't know there you saw, I was too. I was there the whole time like I didn't even know what the teacher said. Okay, let's call the teacher miss sugar, sugar, yeah, miss sugar. And let's okay, let's call One of the kids Jake, I don't know, oh, jake. And then let's call the other one.

Speaker 2:

Aiden, okay, aiden, okay, so, so Jake and Aiden. So Jake and Aiden, they got into a fight and and it was physical. So Aiden was like pushing Jake back and they were about to be throwing hands. No, opposite way, jake. Oh, first Jake Pushed a and then, when we were going to line up, aiden pushed Jake and then that's what Natalie came.

Speaker 1:

That's what Natalie yeah, that's what I saw, I saw.

Speaker 2:

Jake push Aiden, yeah, it was. It was kind of like, yeah, awkward and really bad. And then the teacher, miss sugar, caught them and then they like started. They stayed down there and talks While everyone else went upstairs. But then my friend, eve we're gonna call it Evie yeah, I feel like that's a really pretty yeah, but that's just a code name.

Speaker 2:

But Evie and she lost her Stanley straw, so we had to go down there and look for it. We had to go down there and look for it and so we did and I heard miss. We heard miss sugar say you guys are friends, right, and they were like yeah, and stuff like that, and so, like I think they both got like a signature which is like on, like which is not really good for a great. It's like where you get in trouble and you get like in your home and back folder and stuff like that. Your home and back folder is a folder you take home and to school. Okay, and they got in like trouble and they got just like and Jake is in my class, so he came back crying and so, and Aiden is just not in any of our classes.

Speaker 2:

He has anger issues. I saw him running past our class. Okay, so let's take a little break While we decide what to talk about next. Okay, guys, we're back. We're now. We're gonna talk about spies and miss sugar. So miss sugar claims to be the strictest teacher ever.

Speaker 2:

What? The strictest teacher in school? Yeah, um, she kind of is, but she's also fun, yeah, and she's also rude, yeah, and so she catches a lot of people and then apparently Like, she knows about the kissing and so does our gym teacher. He came out one day and started yelling at us and he's like I know who's been kissing, I know, but the gym teacher, um, he hired apparently spies to find people who are kissing. Yeah, and she just watches.

Speaker 2:

And then tells, and we think it's one girl who is so annoying and no one likes her, and like, like and like. I could say a lot of things about her.

Speaker 1:

She's a furry.

Speaker 2:

She thought we were using her for popularity. Like we aren't even popular. You aren't even popular either. Okay, yeah, and so Like we're more popular than you. Like, you need to shut your mouth up For real, okay. So, miss Sugar, I don't know how she finds out about this stuff, because she's like 20 feet no more than 20 feet away from us Every time she walks. So we're just we spread out, because every time she comes over, we're in trouble.

Speaker 2:

And then she's like no girls, no girls, you're not in trouble. I just came over to see what you were doing.

Speaker 1:

Like girl.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, because one time we were doing this one girl. She was doing henna. She was doing henna on Kate, which is one of the popular girls, and so, and then Miss and then one of a recess a recess duty girl. She was like actually spying on us and like she's an adult, she's like an like a yeah, a recess duty person. And she and she went over to Miss Sugar and said are they allowed to do henna? And then she was like Miss Sugar said no, and so and then Miss Sugar came walking over to where we were and she said where's the henna? And we're like what the heck? Who told you? And like we didn't say that. But we were like thanking like we all were thanking that. And so, um, kate had to go wash it off in the bathroom.

Speaker 1:

But it didn't come off. But it didn't come off. But it didn't come off, it dried already like-.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and the girl who was doing it. She had to give the henna back the henna. No, she put it in her lunchbox. Oh, okay, well, she decided to put it away. Okay, so that's enough about Miss Sugar and the yeah because we don't care about Miss Sugar. Yeah, she's kind of really rude. Okay, so let's talk about our friend groups. So I kind of don't have a lot of friends, yeah she does.

Speaker 1:

So I have like Girl you have a lot of friends.

Speaker 2:

I hang out with the friends I can't Like. I can't hang out with one girl, okay well.

Speaker 1:

Natalie has a lot of friends, so she cannot be saying that.

Speaker 2:

Okay, just tell about your friend group.

Speaker 1:

I was learning out with Amelia.

Speaker 2:

It's like I have a lot of different friend groups. Like all my friends don't really hang out together, like I have some friends that are boys that annoy me sometimes so I don't hang out with them and I want to hang out with my friends that are girls, but some of my friends that are girls can't come over to my house because they're hanging out with their other friends and I'm not friends with their other friends. So it's kind of like sad. But I do have three friends that I really love hanging out with, and so let's call one Katie, one Emery and one Stella. So I hang out with them three. They sit at my table there, all in my class.

Speaker 2:

Also there's another girl let's call her I don't know what. Should we call her Maddie, maddie, maddie. I also hang out with Maddie. She's in my class. She's been friends with me since I was in third grade. And Katie has been friends with me since I was in third grade and Stella has been friends with me since this year. And what about? Emery has been friends with me since this year too, because she's new, okay, so like. And also it's called up Wait a minute, put a little art in it. And another girl. She claims she can see Ghost. Let's call her ghosty. No, she's also very weird. So ghosty claims she can see ghost. She's like my enemy, like everybody hates her.

Speaker 1:

Except for her friend. Oh, hey guys.

Speaker 2:

My crush came walking in through the cafeteria doors and we were talking about ghost, because ghosty claims she can see ghost. So I was like there's a ghost right there. And then they all turned around and they saw my question and we all started laughing. It was really funny and embarrassing.

Speaker 2:

And then we were like the ghost is getting closer. So, yeah, Okay, so do you like your friend group? Yeah, but I kinda also I'm friends with one, I'm friends with a few popular people. I kinda wish I had more friends so that I could like hang out with them.

Speaker 1:

Girl you, cannot be complaining. You have a lot of friends.

Speaker 2:

No, I don't. Yes, you do. Who Name all of them? I can't name all of them. Okay, we'll name all of them off-pod. Let's talk about my friend group, so my friend group. Let's call um. So Charlie, evie, they're still, they're my friend group. But this other girl, these other girls, grace and Brooklyn, so Brooklyn, we're gonna call her that. She likes to create a lot of drama and like we have drama, almost we have drama almost like I know who.

Speaker 2:

This is right away. We have drama almost like every day. And she and then also, this is a story that literally happened, like this week and, reminder, it's a Sunday, so it happened like literally last week, I guess. So basically, um, she claims to have the flu, but she actually didn't have the flu. She actually went to Disney. She skipped school for three days just to go to Disney and we and she claimed to be sick. So all the teachers were like, especially Miss Sugar. She was asking um, where is Brooklyn? And so we were like, oh, she has the flu, because we were covering her up, because last time we told the teachers that she went to Disney and she got mad at us apparently. So, like she likes to create these mini miniature fights and like it's just she also pranked Amelia and her best friends and they started crying and had to go to Miss Mothers.

Speaker 1:

Which is the guidance counselor.

Speaker 2:

It was really bad and I was getting worse, yeah, and she just creates a lot of drama. But I guess I'm still her friend. And then let's talk about Evie. Evie is like my therapist and I love her so much and she's like the best, like the best, and she's like super nice. She's like also, she's very laugh, she laughs so much.

Speaker 1:

She's also tall compared to me.

Speaker 2:

Sorry, girl, okay, and-.

Speaker 2:

Okay, I think it's good to like have good friends, yeah. And then another girl, grace. She like is always like being in arguments with Brooklyn, because Brooklyn always is like always mad at Grace, but never any of us, like Evie and Charlie, because because Grace does the most damage, apparently, and Grace almost every time well, not every time she like barely. She cries when it's like actual, really serious, and like we always tell Brooklyn that we're never going to be her friend anymore, but then we still be her friend. So it's just like off and on. And then Charlie you guys already know about her and stuff like that.

Speaker 2:

Hey guys, I think it's time to move on and talk about our friendship. Yeah, so let's take a miniature break. No, we just had a break. I think it's fine. Oh okay.

Speaker 2:

Okay, let's just jump into it. So I would say how long have we been friends? Oh, so we met from Show Choir, no, and I think we met in like third grade. Third grade, we met in third grade. I thought it was first, oh, second, oh, second or no, third, third, third, I don't think it's good. Second, so we met in third grade and we've been friends ever since.

Speaker 2:

We used to have like a lot of arguments and not going to lie. When we think about when we think about those past arguments, it's kind of funny. Like I used to talk about it and I would be like I hate her. But I really regret that because like she's like my bestie Also. One day I was talking to her cousin, julie. I was talking to Julie and I was like don't you think Amelia is a good singer? Yeah, and I was like I feel like every time I'm seeing a song like in my head, and then Amelia just knows it and she starts singing it. And then she was like why are you talking bad about her? And I was like I'm not talking bad about her. I said she just like every time I'm humming a song, she just automatically knows it. That's how you know like she loves singing. Yeah, I'm like a very I love singing I love like singing, dancing and stuff.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and acting, okay, so our friendship's really good. Okay, we haven't had an argument since a while. Yeah, we haven't had an argument in a while and we hope it stays that way. So I think this podcast is coming to an end. Yeah, thanks for listening to the Sassy Sisterhood series. We will be doing more episodes PS. This is just our only first episode. Okay, this is also the WDYM, the what Do you Mean? Podcast, so thanks for listening. But yeah, but this is going to be called the Sassy.

Speaker 2:
