Speaker 1:

Welcome back to America. This is episode 2 of 5 minute Friday, and I will be talking about glorifying God, or how to glorify God, and I'm going to be starting off in Revelation, chapter 4 and verse 11. I'm going to read it real quick. It says so we see that the Lord created the world, created everything, right, we see that in Genesis, chapter 1 and verse 1. And you just read the whole chapter and talked about how God created the world. He created the heavens, he created the water, he created plants, he created literally everything that's here. But specifically he created humans. And we see in this verse that he created all things for His pleasure, and that is very interesting to me. So as humans, we are the Lord's pleasure.

Speaker 1:

But the question is, how do we glorify God, or how do we please God? And I think that can be answered through. First of all, we have to understand what God's will is. In order to please someone, you have to know what they want. And so what would be God's will? And we can find that in the Bible, and it says that God's will is that none should perish. So we see that God doesn't want any of us to go to hell. He wants us to spend eternity with Him, and again, that is special. He should be special to us because he didn't have to create us. He didn't have to do anything that he did for us. He didn't have to come and die on the cross for us, but he did because he loved us and because he wanted a fellowship and a relationship with us. And I just think it's very special and very important for everyone to realize that we do not deserve anything besides hell and everything else that we get is a gift from God and it's a blessing. But in order to get that blessing, we have to realize that we are sinners and that God doesn't allow sin into heaven, and so that's why he sent Jesus Christ, his perfect Son, into this condemned world. And he did that so that we can have a chance at heaven.

Speaker 1:

And you hear a lot of people talking about heaven and how to get there and doing good and going to church and giving your tithes and all that stuff and all that's good and fine, but that is not how you get to heaven, for the way you're seeing His death. So the things that we try to do that are good, they're nothing. They're filthy rags and there's nothing that we can do that will appease God, other than accept Jesus Christ as Savior, and he's the only way to get to heaven. We have to rely on Him and trust on Him, and there's no other way. It's just, it's simple, but yeah, it's complicated in a way, but that's, I guess, number one.

Speaker 1:

We have to glorify God through becoming His Son or His daughter, and so, but in verse in 1 Corinthians, chapter 6, and verse 28 says For ye were by with the price. Therefore, glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's. So once we become believers, once we become Christians, we are bought with the price, and that price was Jesus Christ coming to die for our sins on the cross, and that's the price that he's talking about. It wasn't cheap. It took Jesus, it was perfect to come to this cursed world and to die, to become spit upon, to become. You know, he was the spice in the Jews' eyes and he didn't have to do any of that, but he did because he loves us.

Speaker 1:

And so we're to glorify God because we are bought with the price, which then leads to my next point. We are to go for God in our body and in our spirit, like that verse said, and verse chapter 1, corinthians 6, 20 says For ye were bought with the price. Therefore, glorify God in your body and in your spirit. So our bodies are no longer ours, they're God's, because he has bought us with the price, and so the things that we used to do in our past life whether that smoking, drinking, tattoos, drugs, whatever it is that's no longer our life. God has changed us miraculously. God has put in us a new spirit, and so just let me encourage you to glorify God, because he definitely deserves it, and just ask God for His strength when temptations come.
