Dr. Grant teaches us the differentiation between cardiology and sports cardiology. He describes the types of patients he sees from ones with a cardiac history all the way to the other end of the spectrum for sports performance purposes, and everything in between.

Dr. Grant educates us on the normal differences and adaptations in the heart secondary to sport and when concerns may arise in the athletic population. Dr. Grant not only covers the testing side of sports cardiology, but the mental impact a cardiac event can have and how he supports his patients through their journey of recovery back to sport.

We have a brief discussion on how we may be able to utilize a sports cardiologist to help our athletes aerobically and anaerobically be successful when returning to sport after an orthopedic surgical recovery to optimize a safe return to sport and training.
