Speaker 2:

bestie vibes, we are just two country girls chatting about all things we struggle with daily life.

Speaker 1:

And, of course, talking about certain issues that some people are afraid to speak about. We give it to you real, while having crack along the way. Remember, these are just our opinions, gals, so don't take us too seriously. We're just giving you some best friend advice. Welcome to this week's episode. Everyone yous are all well. How are you, simone?

Speaker 2:

I'm good, thank you, how are you? Yes, good, good, another week another week, another fun pod.

Speaker 1:

So this week we're chatting about fashion combats, because I actually seen them the other day and they gave me the ick as well. You know those ballet pumps, yeah. I'm not down for them at all no, I'm actually not, I can't. I'm just refusing to do it like and I know I always say this is some things I do. Come back into fashion, I'm like no, I'm not wearing them. And then I wear them. I don't know, they just remind me of when I was like I don't know making your communion.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, like just, and then like the sweaty feet as well in them, like, and then I don't know ew, I don't know, I just don't.

Speaker 2:

I I don't think they're one bit fashionable or trendy in my opinion.

Speaker 1:

Honestly, I feel like people just nowadays just go with whatever Kim Kardashian, for argument's sake, is wearing, like I just don't understand it at all no, and they remind me of when I was in, when I was in beauty therapy college and, like you, used to have to wear them with tights and then, like your feet, be sweating on them, but they're also freezing at the same time. Do you know what I mean? Because like there's no support in them, like they're just flat but there's no warmth in them, but yet your feet is sweating with the tights. Oh, it's just vile. I just know I can't go back there at all, cannot do it absolutely not.

Speaker 2:

I will not be seeing them.

Speaker 1:

I feel like you're just wearing a sock yeah, they're not comfortable, though, like your feet are too flat in them as well. I don't know.

Speaker 2:

I think anyway, I'm too small to wear stuff like that. I feel like it needs to be like a certain height for things like that to suit you. I just genuinely feel like no, I'm 5 foot 3, I need a little bit of height in my life.

Speaker 1:

I feel like when you're short, it makes your legs look nearly like all the one width. Do you know what I mean? It's like it makes you look stubby like when you're short and you wear things like that. There's no like giving to them, no there's not one bit.

Speaker 2:

So me and you both, melissa, we won't. We won't be wearing those. No, we won't. We won't be wearing those, absolutely not. I've seen so many people. I do love sheer dresses. I have to say I've, yeah, I've actually wanted them to make a proper comeback, because I remember seeing a picture of my mom I think it was her sister like years ago, like in a photo album, some photo albums back at home, but like she had this kind of light blue sheer like cardigan on her with like a little string vest top underneath it, and I always I could still visualize it in my head, like I could still see the picture and I was like I absolutely love it like.

Speaker 1:

I love it.

Speaker 2:

They are like wine as well.

Speaker 1:

I think, yeah, like, and I I think, with sheer dresses, I'd wear them when if I was on holidays, because I feel like like I'd always wear them on holidays, but I'd love to have the balls to wear it here, but they are making a comeback. So I think if they make a comeback, then it'll be acceptable to wear them here yeah, definitely it's.

Speaker 2:

It's more of like a holiday vacay vibe, I think, when it comes down to sheer, yeah, if obviously like, if Joe, like you can see sometimes like those dresses, but like they have like the, the vested, like tight, fit body, can dress underneath it, which I think is really like elegant and classy as well yeah, I've wore.

Speaker 1:

I've wore sheer jumpsuits. I'm sure remember I wore one to the pretty little thing with you that was sheer. That I think jumpsuits, though because there's more pattern in it it doesn't really look as sheer, yeah, sheer. Dresses are hot, though.

Speaker 2:

They are hot, yeah, they kind of as well remind me of Rachel from Friends sheer in general, and cardigans just remind me of Friends.

Speaker 1:

I feel like 90s, though, is making such a moment. I love it. It is like that there's something really nice about 90s style.

Speaker 2:

It's very casual but yet funky yeah, elegant and classy as well it is very elegant. Yeah, I just yeah hairstyles and stuff like that, like that's all coming back.

Speaker 1:

It is well, I'm a 90s baby yeah, I just, I just want to like look like Jennifer Aniston. Friends, like all. If you look back actually I was looking at this like through a couple of episodes All her clothes are very timeless. Yeah, like everything she wears is timeless and it's just, it's really cute and, as you said, like classy. Yeah, she's an icon. Yeah, she really is. I feel like we need to put her on a Pinterest board and like recreate her outfits.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I'm obsessed. Everything that she wore like most of the things, even the knee boots, stuff, like that like, yeah, I love everything she wears just looks absolutely perfect on her. I think in general, she just had one of those figures that, no matter what she put on her, she looks immaculate.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, but sexy at the same time, but, like a lot of it is even just like plain tees and like, yeah, skirt and knee boots, like it's very simplistic. I feel the style, but yeah, it works, but made a statement, but makes a statement at the same time. So cardigans are making a comeback. I don't know how I feel about cardigans. I think as well. They also remind me of when I went to therapy school, um, because I used to wear them over like my tunic, but there is a lot of depends on how they're worn. Sometimes I feel like they smother me a bit, though, yeah, and I don't know if it's because, like, I have like small shoulders, yeah.

Speaker 2:

I think it's all down to your body shape as well, especially when it comes to fashion, like it's down to what suits your body shape, and I feel like that's when some people tend to go wrong, because they're following trends and it's just not so far for their figure.

Speaker 1:

I get it. Yeah, I think you're so right. Like I think it depends on the cardigan. Like I remember I got a nice blue cardigan before and I actually loved it, but it was like fitted. I feel like sometimes the oversized cardigans do not infer me, but then if I see it on someone else I'm like, oh my god, that looks so cool yeah but on me I'm like it. Just I don't know I looked like just swamped.

Speaker 2:

Just does not infer me and I think you're right like it depends on your figure, like you can follow trends, but it doesn't mean it's going to work for you yeah, that's why I always say, like I can look at something and appreciate the fashion, but it might not necessarily like silt me, I could love it on someone else and then I put it on me and it does absolutely nothing for me. Yeah, because, like, we all come in different shapes and sizes anyway, but like I just think, when you're following a trend, you need to follow it, that it's suited to your body, so otherwise I feel like you just look ridiculous.

Speaker 1:

Like me and Simone are following a reference here, but see this girl around the cardigan and she's lovely in tanned and those jeans and those black body pumps Like that would look horrendous on me. I think you have to be like six foot to wear that.

Speaker 2:

Definitely.

Speaker 1:

Like she looks cool, but I would just look like If.

Speaker 2:

I wore that. I feel like someone Thought I was after taking it from my granny's wardrobe.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it looks like you're after painting the house or something, doesn't it Like it? Doesn't it Like you're doing a house cleaning?

Speaker 2:

if I wore that but on her it looks nice, but she is a model bag for me yeah, the bag is nice.

Speaker 1:

We uh, I don't know ballet. No, we don't like ballet. Flats and light wash jeans are all come back as well, but I think they were always kind of like they're always there, weren't they like you know?

Speaker 2:

um, so the little willow cardigans, all the little buttons, I actually do kind of like that because I feel like this this is probably one of my faves, like I love this look because it's classy you're covered, it's shown belly and it's shown chest.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

And I think it's just proper statement vibes, I love it.

Speaker 1:

And I think that would work for someone of all sizes as well. Yeah, because if you have a small chest it doesn't really make a difference, but then if you have a nice big chest, it's still going to look classy.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Isn't it like yeah?

Speaker 2:

I like that, I love, love it and I love the sleeve on it as well.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, because it's nice and fitted and like, so in case we're gonna have to pop these. Yeah, we're gonna pop them up yeah, so like the little, the buttons go all the way up. But yeah, we'll pop these up little willow cardigans. I I'm giving a yay to that, so I'd wear that.

Speaker 2:

Like I think you could style them really well, like because they're quite long, like they're not too short either, yeah, so the rib crop, love them I do like them, I feel for me, I love them on everyone else, but then again I I don't know if they're suited to me yeah, I get you like I love them.

Speaker 2:

I think that they're gorge, if I'm being honest. They're really elegant, classy again, but I don't know. I always feel like I don't know if my height comes into play the whole time, but I just feel very like small and childish when I, when I, wear them. I don't know, but I do love them.

Speaker 1:

I would love that name, like that like bag, that like baggy cargo pants.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Like I feel like that's very me, like I feel like I should be in like a girl band in the 90s, but like I think if I wore it with jeans I wouldn't like it as much. Yeah, it goes so well with cargoes or trousers yeah, it's like that big pants, small top kind of vibe, I don't know. Like I'm not a lover, though, of the really light shades that are in, like on trend at the moment, like they're really what do you call them highlighter shades yeah well, it's like a pale highlighter shade, it's not like a pastel, they're just.

Speaker 2:

They look a bit washy for me yeah, it looks like they're kind of an off color a little bit yeah, it's like you're after washing them a couple of times and the colors after fading.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I don't know about that one well, I love, I've just, I'm just seeing here now okay, is it there is it's a crochet, it's crochet crochet, but it's a yamaya dress yeah, they're nice I love anything with crochet, and I don't know if it's because I've moved to this country, I don't know, but like anything, crochet for me, like a top, a skirt, a coat, a dress, a bag.

Speaker 2:

I think it's so classy yeah, I love crochet especially because, obviously, like, we're in the summer months now and it's coming into summer and everyone's going on holiday and stuff like that. But I feel like if you're going on vacation, you need to put a crochet outfit into your suitcase yeah, and I do think it probably is because you are in the sun as well.

Speaker 1:

Like, when I'm on holiday planning, I always have to bring something. Yeah, yeah, I just think, even if it's like those little crochet tops with like a pair of like, just like a light maxi skirt or something, I think it is really classy. I actually have a crochet yellow bag and I'm obsessed with it. I love it. Yeah, I just love it. It's really like it's one of those things that goes everything, because it's like soft fabric and it just works, do you know? But yeah, crochet is just. It is like very 90s, isn't it? But I think it's been kind of coming back, though, definitely the last two or three years, though gradually, hasn't it?

Speaker 2:

yeah, it definitely has like it's. It's after coming back more in the last couple of years, more so than like, say, cardigans and sheer dresses.

Speaker 1:

Sorry, they're only after coming back in the last year yeah, a couple of months next one I'm a sucker for, like, I love knee socks, love it, love it, yeah I feel like that's.

Speaker 2:

They've never gone out of fashion, though no, they haven't really like.

Speaker 1:

No, I love them. I think they're so like cute, especially when you're wearing like a plaid skirt and a little blazer or something. I just think it's. It can make it look really elegant. Now, I don't like what is I don't those shoes that she's wearing? They're like actually. They remind me of my shoes. They're actually like ballet. Points, though, like why you swear doing ballet. They actually look like she's after coming out of the dance studio like they do, though, don't they?

Speaker 2:

yeah, because they have like the little wooden block in the front.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, but they're really like satiny, like they actually do look like ballet shoes.

Speaker 2:

But this one says underneath it, then channeling your old school uniform has never been more in, and these socks look chic, and anything from ballet flats to loafers to heels I'm just thinking about rocking up on my aviates yeah, oh my god, do people in school still wear aviates? Yeah, do they? Yeah, to be honest, I did love them with my uniform, like I had the navy pair and then I had the brown, but I don't know why, but I loved the brown did you. I loved the brown. I was obsessed.

Speaker 2:

I feel like I just went with my own, with my skirt and stuff like that.

Speaker 1:

A lot more when we, when I started in first year, like aviates and flat shoes were like loserish but we used to wear like I used to wear like high shoes in first and second year, like platforms no, you didn't. I swear to god yeah.

Speaker 2:

I had.

Speaker 1:

You were definitely, most definitely not allowed no, I had platforms like there were like a shoe, but they were platform. Like they were high, like I don't know how. I even walked around them like I definitely fell a couple of times in first year wearing them. I think it's because I was so small. I didn't want to be so small, but yeah, like it was a thing where you know what freaks me out, when we're speaking about secondary school, how we all look like turtles in first year, yeah, like we had so much in our bags.

Speaker 1:

I know why did we do that oh, it cringes me, but I'm like blessed oh god, we were so cute and vulnerable and like who who wouldn't thought like what was ahead of us in the world? Do you know? If only you knew back then, like you're like, because you were so innocent back then, like no. God bless us to bless us To my younger self. God bless you.

Speaker 2:

I think I remember writing down and like you know what would you like to be when you're older? And I remember writing on mine because I think we opened them up in sixth year. Then in our religion class and we opened them up and mine was to be a journalist in LA. Stop it, was it? Some like it? Was it? Yeah, I swear to god and my my parents always flagged me about us to what happened to that little dream of yours and I was like it still could be my reality, who knows?

Speaker 1:

yeah, it could be Simone the world is your oyster, I actually can't remember what I wrote down.

Speaker 2:

I'd love to know yeah, I remember probably something stupid like I want to be Britney Spears me and you both honey thank god that didn't happen.

Speaker 1:

Shaving the head and all of that. We've got you in school. I only think I sat around 88 and around maybe fourth year, third or fourth year maybe. Um, yeah, I don't know how. I went around first year with like those platforms, like they were like proper on trend at the time, like I thought it was so cool, like I was like, oh my god, look at me, my platforms, melissa could barely walk like falling over, like because you know the way like your heel is kind of goes like, oh god bless me. Um, so we have, uh, sandy lang socks. So the little bows yes, bows are all coming back super cute vibes. I had something like that for my photo shoot with the little pink bows. They were so cute.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I think they're so cute tiny socks.

Speaker 1:

Yes, a vibe. Oh, I love this now. These have been back for a little while, chokers, but I think they're coming back bigger and better.

Speaker 2:

I don't know if I'm a fan. No, I'd put my hand up and say it. No, no, they just remind me of my teenage years.

Speaker 1:

Way too much. What were those chokers? Those chokers we had that were like stretchy ones with like holes in it. What were they called? There was a name on them, wasn't there? Yeah, I remember.

Speaker 2:

I don't know how I feel about this trend. I like the joke. I mean, I was like I like little dainty kind of, do you know like when they're kind of like a choker, but they're dainty ones, yeah these are like block.

Speaker 1:

These are chunky leather chokers, but it says you can go bold or keep them simple.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it's like something that you'd see in a red room, like it is something like you see in a red room.

Speaker 1:

I have to say now I don't know if I'd wear that specific one, but like I think that would overpower my neck, like because that's quite big, but I do like the idea. Give him put her on a leash. Yeah, it is. It looks like she's in like one of those what do you call those dominatrix?

Speaker 2:

kind of like aesthetic it does, and even like the belt on her to be honest, looking at it, it's like something that Kanye West would have in his fashion show. Yeah, now she's not. I just don't think the whole look is given. It's kind of given like dark, looking at it as something that Kanye West would have in his fashion show.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, now she's not like I just don't think the whole look is given. It's kind of given like dark and like dark vibes. But I do think chokers can be nice. Yeah, definitely, I'm certain, but maybe not that one, because that is that was for the Paco Roban spring summer collection.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

And I'm sorry, but it's a no from me. We're not about chokers, but here's another one, a nice little leather one like that's a little petite one yeah, that's cute you know I like the small little cute ones and what's on trend. As I asked simone the other day where she got her necklace, they're all trending at the moment. Those Starfish, yeah, the Starfish ones.

Speaker 2:

They're so cute. I'm obsessed. I have the earrings, I have the chain, I'm going to get the bracelet, like I love them, like I'm obsessed, like anything like that. Yeah, give me.

Speaker 1:

It's serving mermaid, isn't it? I just feel that now, with a nice crochet, two-piece would be lovely.

Speaker 2:

But you can mix and match it. That's what I love about jewellery like that. It's like you can change the actual chain on it as well, like you can put like a little smaller chain and attach it onto it. Okay, so it looks like a completely different style again.

Speaker 1:

They're fab. I need to get one of them, yeah, from my Ibiza holiday. Is there any trend that, like you wore, that you think you would wear again, like from when you were younger, when? I was younger yeah, like say like when you were a teenager.

Speaker 2:

I feel like anything that I wore when I was younger that I'd wear now. I'm kind of still wearing like the same kind of fashion skinny jeans I will never wear again yeah, you hate skinny jeans, aren't you? No, I don't think I'll ever wear them again.

Speaker 1:

I don't know why, but I just feel like, but they will come back but have you ever noticed the skinny jeans are gone with all the men as well? At the moment it's all like baggy layers and layers and stuff for men like skinny jeans are completely gone for men, aren't they? Yeah, it's mad.

Speaker 2:

Like they probably will come back.

Speaker 1:

Like the leather look is nice, I think denim no yeah, so like I used to wear my, but, as you said it now, I actually haven't worn them like skinny jeans at a very long time. Yeah, like I used to like wear all the freddys and stuff and I do love freddys, but I don't know, I'm just. I'm more of a like baggy kind of jeans sort of gal.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I'm like oversized, but saying that like I'll put my hands up and say if I was living back at home, my fashion sense would probably be totally different than it is here. Oh, 100%, I'm in different kind of heat and I'm in office clothes monday, friday, and then in the evening I'm in gym clothes, so it's like much of a muchness the weekends like at the beach, but it's, it's different, like do you know what I mean?

Speaker 2:

I, I don't know like maybe my fashion sense could be a little bit different to folks at home, because obviously down to the climate and stuff like that.

Speaker 1:

But yeah, and I think, even like you're like in Dubai's like evening wear, is a bit more like evening wear than like you know, like say, longer, kind of like style dresses than, say, ireland. Yeah, isn't it like it's more like elegance, I feel, in Dubai, where you can like go out and just wear like your long, like dresses, your maxi skirts, and you're like, yeah, like if I was going for dinner and I wore a prom dress, like I don't even think people would look at me twice.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that's what I'm saying.

Speaker 1:

It's the norm it's an, it's the norm over there. We're over here. If you're supposed to go out for dinner. It is more like jeans and a top, or you know, like something more like maybe like skirts and boots, or it's completely different, isn't it like it's mad?

Speaker 2:

yeah, there's one thing that haunts me. What is? I remember when I was 16 no, I lie, I was 15 or maybe 14 I was going to a teenage disco and I got this dress in River Island. It was a boob tube bodycon dress and it was pink, blue stripe, green like thick stretch. I looked like a highlighter pack, yeah, like I was like why and why and why do people allow this to be fashionable? But obviously it was back then, so everyone absolutely loved it. But every time it pops up, I think I actually deleted it off my Facebook or something.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, but it probably was like so cool. But that's the thing with trends is like, yeah, it can look cool in that moment, but then sometimes when you look back on it, like what you said, you're like ugh, ugh. You know what I mean. It's not like timeless, no.

Speaker 2:

No, I don't know. I feel like, why did I? And tantites?

Speaker 1:

yeah, and tantites and peplum. I like that kind of came back last year, but I'm like I just I can't, I don't know, I don't know if I could do peplum again, I don't know yeah no, I do like it, though it is I don't know. I think I don't know. I think I just have a bit of ptsd from it, like I just remember of nights when I when I was like wearing peplum and I just leather leggings yeah, with the leather, but I just have like memories like of, like memories I just want to forget.

Speaker 1:

So I think it's like a bit of ptsd at me and peplum that I just don't think I could go back to. Yeah, but everyone wore the top and the leather leggings.

Speaker 2:

Oh god and the wedges and the wedges.

Speaker 1:

So, accessory wise, you have tick hair bands. I do like tick hair bands, I have to say on some occasions, like for weddings and things like that, claw clips loving out, good out, love them, love, love them. But I kind of just wear my claw clip the same style every day. I really need to get like a bit adventurous and like jazz it up a bit, you know. But yeah, claw clips are just like an easy, an easy solution for any sort of hairstyle, aren't they like? Yeah right, bike shorts, I don't like these. It's a big no from me. It makes my legs look stubby and short, yeah, same.

Speaker 2:

It's all down to, like I said at the start, your body type. Yeah, and your figure.

Speaker 1:

It looks very cool on this lady with her laser legs yeah, and her long legs, and I just, I don't know, I just feel like I just don't like it. I just don't like it on my body shape, like I just I'm just not the same, melissa.

Speaker 2:

I don't know what it is like, it's the same. Even when I get, like you know, gym shorts and stuff like that, and if they're and they come as bicycle shorts, I tend to kind of roll them a little bit, yeah, because I just feel like I look like an umpa lumpa.

Speaker 1:

I. I just the shorter the better for my gym shorts. I'm sorry, I don't care, rather the bumping out then, I just feel it's because they make our legs look longer seem longer. Exactly, I think if you're taller you can get away with them like that, but if they're, if I just don't like I'm just too close to my knee, like with shorts, it just, it just doesn't work.

Speaker 1:

It doesn't work like um, we have crop shorts. It's kind of the same thing. Um um. Bucket hats. I am here for bucket hats. I love them, they're just so cute. But not for summer, though, maybe for winter. They're always kind of quite oversized and woolly cargos yes love cargos. I feel like I've always worn cargos though I feel like it's just part of who I am is like cargo pants.

Speaker 2:

I just think they're so comfortable and like, yeah, styling you can dress them up and dress them down as well yeah, just like with a plain t-shirt, and you know, like they're just simplistic, like, do you know?

Speaker 1:

I mean they work. So yeah, if you have any icks of any style that you hate, let us know and we may pop a little poll on our podcast page and see what people write in.

Speaker 1:

Actually, we'll do that for this week yeah, we'll see what people uh, hate or don't like. Just breathe. Melissa and simone are here to listen. So on this week's juicy jammy dodger dilemma. So this one was sent in and related to last week. So this is related to your episode last week. I'm in a similar situation so if you missed last week's episode, we were talking about cheating partners. Um, I sorry, I'm in a similar situation with a friend. I work with this girl and we have become more friendly over the last few months. She's a lovely, genuine girl with a heart. I have recently found out her partner cheated on her on a lad's night away. The whole office seems to know, as they both work in the same office. This girl doesn't know they are. This girl doesn't know and they are due to be married next month and I feel like that I should say something to her, but I'm afraid she might not believe me and it will make the entire work environment awkward and we might lose the friendship we have built. What should I do?

Speaker 2:

oh, my god, my heart for this girl. Oh no, I'm sorry, you have to tell her. It's a complete and different art ball game, like I think. What would you actually do, though, because, like she's getting married next month, like you feel, like I do get where she's coming from, into the sense that she doesn't want to tell her, but she's friends with her, she works with her yeah, it's like they're after building up a friendship work no, 100%, especially coming to marry yes, it's awkward, isn't it?

Speaker 1:

oh, I don't know, because, like she obviously works at your man, then as well if they all work in the same office. But clearly the whole office knows apart from her so, but this is the thing.

Speaker 2:

She's going to walk up the aisle and, like everyone knows, this is going to happen and she's not. What's going to make it worse, I think, is her finding out after the wedding, like, at least, if they find out now, maybe she'll like come to terms with it, she might forgive him yeah, and then it's her choice to go up, where I feel if you're sending her up the aisle without her knowing this information, it's like a slap in the face.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, where I think if she knows that like that, she'll either try deal with it and like go through with the wedding which I feel like a lot of people do just because they feel under so much pressure because they're getting married or, yeah, I don't. I feel like she's the right to know.

Speaker 2:

But I, I 100% think that she needs to know ASAP, because that is right there in my worst nightmare.

Speaker 1:

And what happens, though, if she turns around to the girl and says that she's making up?

Speaker 2:

Well, there's a way of saying that. I suppose so to say that a lot of people know, but I feel like I should be the one to come forward as well yeah, I think that's a good approach. Yeah, yeah, and, like, I have a lot of respect for you and it's obviously down to you what you want to do but, rather you know before you walk up the aisle and make a decision first, rather than knowing afterwards.

Speaker 1:

And yeah, a ring on your finger yeah, like I think, yeah, just you need to be like, look, there's a couple of things been said around the office. I feel like I should tell you, yeah, exactly what you said. But kind of approach it like that, um, and then kind of, as you said, like just let her make up her own mind about it, like just like, look, I'm bringing her forward, I won't say anything else about it, it's up to you what you do after. That kind of a thing like, but at least then she's in control then of her own life where she can approach her partner, whether he denies it or not.

Speaker 1:

Now, like there's nothing really you can do about that, but at least you've kind of like warned her yeah exactly, yeah, well, that's a tough one it's so hard, though I hope she'll be okay, because she does most definitely have the right to know 100 and I hope you're okay telling her just yeah, yeah, I think, just bite the bullet and say it to her and let us know how you get on awkward. But if you do any of the dilemmas or any funny stories, make you make sure you send them in to us bougieblondespodcastgmailcom, or you can dm us as well. So for our big bougie hat of mystery, let's see what we have this week.

Speaker 1:

What advice would you give to someone going through a tough breakup? This is actually like Right, what advice would I give to someone going through a tough breakup? I feel like you need to sit with your emotions and cry for, yeah, as long as you possibly can, like I think you need to deal with it and deal with the heartbreak and deal with the sadness and deal with the loss. But then I feel like if you actually deal with it like that, like it will get easier every week, like slowly but surely, and you go through a tough breakup for a reason, it's like a lesson that the next partner you won't have to be treated like shit again yeah, exactly, I do feel like what's meant for you will never pass you by, like I always say, and if you're going through this, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

Speaker 2:

But the one thing that I will say is you need to occupy yourself. You need to get up, because no one is coming to save you, only yourself. People can give you all the advice, but I wouldn't tend to take advice of so many people. Feel your feels, but don't sit and dwell on them too much to the fact that you get inside your own head and inside a rush like you need to get up, do kind of kind of do things that make you feel good, like if it's going to the gym or if it's like doing your makeup and dressing yourself up, going out, chatting with your friends, going for dinners, meeting your family, friends, whatever it may be.

Speaker 2:

But don't lock yourself and hide yourself away. No, because I feel like sometimes that can make it a lot worse. I think you're better off to kind of keep yourself content and active and, yeah, obviously, like there's no point in saying, oh, you know you're not gonna sit and dwell on it, of course, here, but I feel like more so it's in the nighttime when you're going through a breakup, that these thoughts come into your head, but try your best to, kind of like, keep yourself occupied. I think I feel.

Speaker 1:

I think every breakup is different, as I like there's so many like different conflicting issues that affects each person differently as well. Like not all breakups are the same. It's tough, it's hard. So, like anyone going through it, I do feel really hard for them because it is such a tough time, um, and it's like a time is where I really question a lot about yourself as well, yeah, but then I think you'd look back and it'd been like why did I question myself about this? You know? I mean, like they were the issue, they were making me feel like this yeah it wasn't actually my thoughts, you know.

Speaker 1:

I mean just my insecurities. So I feel like when you go through a breakup, you come out like such a different and stronger person at the end of it, even though you don't feel like it at the time, but like a year or two down the road you'd be like I wouldn't pop with that shit again.

Speaker 2:

You know that kind of way exactly it's only making you more aware about yourself as well and like all the things that you can kind of you know come through in life and like you can just automatically kind of say if you're the type of person that's insecure, you've low self-esteem and you feel like that you're such a lover and a giver. I feel like if that's you in a relationship, then I feel like you're kind of more aware about you, can see the red flags when it's coming into the next one yeah even a mile off before you even like get too comfortable with someone yeah, it is.

Speaker 1:

It's like. It's like a chapter in your life in that book that's gonna be a massive lesson to make sure your next relationship grows and thrives. And then there could be another breakup that is going to teach you something for the next relationship. So it is just shit, days is always a lesson, is what I have to say, whether it's breakups or just in normal daily life. It is just a lesson that helps us get stronger.

Speaker 2:

So, yeah, thank you to our mystery man who put this into our mystery so, on this week's game of the week, we have a few little questions for melissa. Are you ready?

Speaker 1:
