Speaker 1:

It's the Bougie Blondes podcast with Melissa and Simone, available on Spotify, Apple or wherever you get your podcasts. Now let's get bougie. Hi, I'm Melissa. Hi, I'm Simone. Our podcast is serving you.

Speaker 2:

bestie vibes, we are just two country girls chatting about all things we struggle with daily life.

Speaker 1:

And, of course, talking about certain issues that some people are afraid to speak about. We give it to you real, while having crack along the way. Remember, these are just our opinions, gals, so don't take us too seriously. We're just giving you some best friend advice. Welcome back to the bougie blondes. How is everyone? How are you Simone? I'm good. How are you? My girly? Whirly, chicken swirly. Oh look, we're surviving, we're surviving. It was a week of antics, yes it is.

Speaker 2:

It's you know what. Life in general is just absolutely hectic at the minute. It's summer, like everyone is just up the walls rushing racing. There's just so much happening, we can't even catch a break.

Speaker 1:

But melissa can't this week, she's just do you know I actually it was like I could actually do um eye patches, like you know, those ones you put in the fridge I was nearly going to come onto the podcast with them because, you know, you just feel like your eyes are just dead in your head, like you're just gone. That's how I feel this week so tired.

Speaker 2:

All be over and done with, and it'll be worth it.

Speaker 1:

Yes, yes so I'm going to talk about it on this week's podcast. But we know we'll do it next week, it's a little fun surprise for everyone this week I had a wedding, which brings me talking about hangovers definitely the worst hangover I've had in about 10 years on Sunday morning yeah, but you know what it is?

Speaker 2:

it's because, after, like it's all the hard training, it's the running, the marathon, like your body is just defeated and it's obviously not used to alcohol, yeah, at the minute. So, yeah, we're just starting again.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, which brings us to this week's topic. We're talking about just girls on the go top running pilates, healthy era, and then you go drinking and you're back to square one. Yeah, it's like all the work is gone. You're literally, I feel like, though, the healthier I am, the worse hangovers I get.

Speaker 2:

Yeah what it is is because your body is not, like, used to it and plus the fact, like your diet, it's all down to your diet. Like it is because I think the more the other way, like when you were younger and you're going to a teenage just going like, even if I didn't want to eat because I was like oh, I'm gonna be bloated in the dress or whatever.

Speaker 2:

My mom would always say to not teenage just go sour. If you're going out to the pub or whatever it may be like, she'd always say have some toast. But like I feel like when you're under like restrictions and diet and going through a diet phase that you're not having like enough carbs to like soak off the alcohol yeah, like, and I just think when you're on the go, like, yeah, because every wedding I go to I'm literally up at like half four.

Speaker 1:

I have to do about 10 phases before I go to a wedding. Yeah, then you're like literally have one hour to get ready and by the time I get to the wedding, right, I have great intentions. I'm like I'm gonna take it easy now. I'm just gonna have a few persecos and then I turn into a feral cat, like I don't know what happens to me. I'm just gone. I'm just like woo, let loose, let's go wild, and like everything goes out the window.

Speaker 2:

I know, but the thing is, I think weddings are different to just going out in general. I really do, yeah, they are. It's the atmosphere, yeah, and everyone is just down in shots to beat the band, as if there's no tomorrow.

Speaker 1:

Baby Guinness, simone was done a couple of times.

Speaker 2:

I haven't had a baby.

Speaker 1:

Guinness. When was I home? Last Christmas, yeah, christmas, yeah, I was at the bar, because every time I think of every time I get a baby and I just think of Simone and I was at the bar and I think I ordered like I don't know how many of us are at the table there was definitely 18 baby Guinness. Anyway, okay, I was like to your man yeah, sure, you know you'll do a good offer on them now, as if I was bargaining him. I was like I was like sure, look, you'll give us like 18 for the price of 10, won't you? I was like what is wrong with me?

Speaker 2:

the perfect sales woman.

Speaker 1:

I'm telling you it cost me a fortune. I was like afraid to look at my Revolut card the next day. I was like tap, tap, tap, tap, don't care.

Speaker 2:

Oh, it's the fear the next day. You know what? It's like you know what girl Like? I don't know what it is, but girls and women in general. I feel like if I'm physically not paying something with cash, that it's not real so like when I tap my card, I'm like, no, it's fine. Do you get me like? I don't know what it is until I actually look at my online bank and I'm like fuck.

Speaker 1:

I refuse to look at my online bank for like two or three days later, because I'm like, oh, what should I spend? I'm like, why, why? And you know, my new drink is whiskey sours.

Speaker 2:

I have never heard of that, but it sounds horrendous no, it's actually really nice whiskey sours.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, melissa, I'm sorry, but have you never had a whiskey sour?

Speaker 2:

I've never drank. I don't like whiskey.

Speaker 1:

I will never drink whiskey I don't like whiskey either, but I like a whiskey sour because it's kind of like no, it's a drink like it has whiskey in it, but it's like, I don't know, it's like citrusy, it's not the best way to describe it. It's like it's kind of like spicy, it's like like a spicy margarita. It's like, oh yeah, it's like nice, like yeah. So whiskey sars is my new thing, which I don't know if it's a good thing, but it's a new thing anyway you know, it doesn't set for me now.

Speaker 2:

I'm like no, absolutely not the thoughts of even alcohol. I went out the weekend as well.

Speaker 1:

I'm like defeated upon next level yeah, like why do we have such great intentions and then it's just ruined? Like we put all this work into our body of, like fueling up a good, nutritious, healthy food, getting the cardiovascular system going, and then it's like gone in one night done, ruined our bodies.

Speaker 2:

I'm like, but you know what? To be fair, I actually haven't gone on a mad one for a very long time, like, but I did this weekend.

Speaker 1:

I don't like, like I'm an R&B queen, like I love R&B, I'm not really into techno, I'm not into house is okay now and again but I love your house, though, like even I feel in Ibiza like a lot of the like nightclubs are very like that housey or like very deep house. Yeah, and I'm more of a like, as you said, like R&B, a bit of like dancing vibes, like a bit of like, you know, soft dance music like pop dance like yeah, like, like a house that has words in it yeah, it doesn't have words and there's nobody singing.

Speaker 2:

What's?

Speaker 1:

the point I don't want to know about it. I know, but we went to.

Speaker 2:

Actually, we were supposed to go to an event and then we ended up going to Jack Fowler.

Speaker 1:

Do you know he was on Love Island oh, I've seen that actually on your story he actually reposted your thing yeah, yeah, he's a really nice, lovely guy or whatever, but like that was actually a really really good night.

Speaker 2:

Like, surprisingly, his last spur of the moment thing got an invite was like, yeah, let's do it, let's go in the back of my head I was like, hmm, that sort of music, but he was actually really good. Like got the crowd going a little vibe, you know that kind of way is he a dj?

Speaker 2:

long. Um, I'm actually not really sure, to be honest, like I I don't really know, but I think it's just he comes over every so often, kind of okay, but I I presume he djs everywhere, but his mom and his aunt was with him as well. It was really cute, oh we're just there to support him. But, like I said, I don't know if it was the music, but I arrived in Sunday morning at five o'clock. That is not like me. I'm usually Cinderella, usually one o'clock home bed. So mild.

Speaker 1:

I'm either. I'm either really sensible, I'd be like, and I'm so used to not drinking anymore, like because all the events I go to I'm driving really sensible I'd be like, and I'm so used to not drinking anymore, like because all the events I go to I'm driving to. So like, like with you. I don't go out that often, but when I do go out it's like, honestly, I'm a feral cat, like I'm just wild just gone. I'm like, what great intentions. I'm like I'll have two Proseccos now, and then it's like the sun hits me. I think I'm like living in Ibiza and I'm like, let's just party. And my soul's in my feet. I just don't stop dancing and I'm like, where did these bruises come from?

Speaker 2:

so sign of a good night.

Speaker 1:

It is sign of a good night yeah and then you're like dying with the fear you're like, oh god what did I say? What did I do. What did I do?

Speaker 2:

it's like everyone's still talking to me well, I actually, you know, I touch wood.

Speaker 1:

I am a happy drunk, yeah, never get like I love everyone so do I, but I think I've more to fear from loving everyone than actually like yeah, I'm like you're blowing the head off. I'm like you know, going around like Miley everywhere. I'm like I think I'm just, it's like I'm happy to get out of the house, she outside, she's outside of the house and she's living her best life.

Speaker 2:

Well, I swear to god, melissa, I am telling you the heat right, so I shouldn't have done this. Speaking of like health and keeping our bodies like active and safe and whatnot, I was very obviously dehydrated Sunday, okay, and obviously I'm working in office Monday to Friday. Gal needs a tan, was going down to the pool at 11 o'clock living off of what? Four hours sleep? Maybe it's 50, it was 50 degrees oh my god, 50 degrees.

Speaker 2:

I could feel my body like sinking. I was like this is not okay. So it's dipping in now the pool. Lo and behold, I was on the phone to my dad. I'd say it was 15 minutes max. My phone switched off, like switched off with the heat, oh my god right. So ran up the stairs because I was like he's gonna panic. Now he'll, he'll think I'm after dying because he told me to get in out of it. You know, dad, yeah, they're like get in out of it. What are you doing? I, in that kind of heat he's on the phone to him got back up and he was like you don't fucking realize. He was like the human body can't survive out more than 39 degrees and you, you spastic, what do you want to do? Die? He was like your phone knocked off, that I tell you, your body is gonna shut down. I was like what is it with irish dads getting into panic mode?

Speaker 1:

because yeah, but he's right, though. How did you survive it with 50 degree heat or like?

Speaker 2:

I was like I'm in my own. No, it was actually fine. This is the thing like every so often I was like, okay, I need to every like couple of minutes. I was like I need to dip in and out of the pool, like or whatever. But yeah, chronic chronic.

Speaker 1:

Oh, I don't know, did you have an umbrella like, or were you just kind of like cooking away? No, absolutely not dying like like after 50 50 wouldn't even work.

Speaker 2:

And here's me lathering myself in oil, just cooking like a little raptor, simone.

Speaker 1:

I'm gonna give out to you now. I'm gonna give out to her. I am the queen.

Speaker 2:

I lasted a half an hour. That was it, so it's just to get some bit of sun into me, guys.

Speaker 1:

I know, but you're looking me, look how pale I am compared to you. I actually look like a ghost. Like no, you're actually looks like I'm from like scandinavia. So you don't I'm like no, we need to. We need to keep the scant tan off for the weekend, and then I'll be glowing and bronzed again yes, because she's.

Speaker 2:

Something exciting is happening something, something, something is happening something you know, I know, we only know, but you don't know so come here about Pilates.

Speaker 1:

Right, you know they use. Do you still go to Pilates, don't you? Yes, yeah, I love it. Like do you actually?

Speaker 2:

yeah, I actually love it and I feel like my whole fitness journey without even realizing when I moved over here. Obviously, at home I was never a Pilates girl, it wasn't in my hometown, it was never something that, like even came across my mind. If I'm being honest, I just go into the gym and stretch or whatever it may be. But when I came over here I got invited to go to like a few classes or whatever, tested it out and I became addicted, like so how, like your whole structure does it?

Speaker 1:

so how do you think like it differs, like what would be in your opinion? Because you obviously do both weight training and pilates, like like I've did pilates, but for not for long enough that I could comment on it. Like I've did a bit of home and stuff during COVID, but not like properly you like you're consistent at like the whole time. So what would you feel like your benefits are that differs between pilates and like weightlifting.

Speaker 2:

I feel like my whole flexibility is completely different, like, completely different. Like when you're weightlifting and lifting heavy weights constantly in the gym, like I felt like I was suffering without even realizing I was suffering, like when I was a beginner at Pilates. Like I was like my hip flexors, like my joints, everything like I was so like stiff if that makes sense.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and I feel like in the long run, like when I come into like my late 30s, early 40s, I feel like down to lift weightlifting constantly and religiously. I feel like we will suffer in the long run without having like that bit of like time out from just kind of your, your body weight. Yeah, training do you get me like. I feel like you need to kind of bring in different movements, like different kind of training, into your kind of your, your weekly kind of intake of your journey, your fitness journey, in a way, if that makes sense, like obviously cardio. If it's down to running or whatever it may be like weightlifting, it's still classed as cardio.

Speaker 2:

Your heart rate is going up yeah but I do feel like implies like you're working kind of your whole body, like it's toning, you're losing weight, it's kind it's it's like therapy.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it's. It's like it is that mind body I feel connection, because you you're you're connecting your mind to your muscles, because a lot of it is you're trying to like focus on, like your balance and your core, and I do think like I actually had this discussion with someone the other day I feel that you need to do a mix of exercises, like there's been a study shown that had women, one that is just running and one who did like weights and low intensity running, so like just kind of like general 5ks, and this apparently the person who did both actually has stronger like bone density and muscles and just overall well-being than someone who just runs or someone who just weight lifts, like not doing both. Yeah, 100 I don't think it's.

Speaker 1:

I don't think it's good to just stick at one, though, either like I do think you're right like it needs like a combo of everything. It's good to mix it up, though, as well, because you get bored, do you know?

Speaker 1:

and like I don't know about you, but when I was just kind of sticking to the gym and sticking to that kind of structure every week, like obviously, like you're, you have a new pb yeah you know, or whatever it may be, but I found, when I put this into my like weekly schedule say yeah, activities um, I just felt like my whole, my whole structure changed yeah, and you probably, I think as well with Pilates, like when I noticed that when I was doing it, like you will have muscles that you didn't even think you had, like how sore you will. Be like sometimes I did a Pilates session, I'd be sore than that, than a weight session. Yeah, just from body weight it's mad it's crazy, it actually is.

Speaker 1:

Get on the Pilates yeah, I wish there was like classes like closer to me, like I'd love to do their former Pilates, I know more.

Speaker 2:

That's the one I always go to yeah, it looks amazing always, but like this, there's like a stretching class as well, and I wish they had these things at home because I'm like I'd actually do a course if I ever moved home. I would do a course in them, because I'd be lost without them now yeah, like you're literally like hanging out of the ceiling on, like these ropes. I see this yeah, it's so good. Yeah, that's mad.

Speaker 2:

I just thought that was part of the Pilates, but it's actually like a stretching class yeah that's mad you don't realise how tight you actually are from being in the gym until you do one of those class well, at the moment I'm lopsided, um, my whole alignment is gone.

Speaker 1:

Like my shoulder one is up, but my foot I think it's from the running is killing me. So like really, yeah, like there's something gone in my ankle, um, so I have to go to the physio now. But it's like that, like I say it's just from the like, running on the roads, like yeah, and just I say the speed I was going out in the marathon didn't help, um, but like I even found that that high intensity of me doing that 10k that day, it took it out of me like that week. Like I had to go on a full rest week just because you're going full seam ahead and I'm not running that long. So like it's not like I'm used to it, but it did, it does take it out of you. Like I admire people who do marathons because it is abrasive on the body, like to that extent, like when you're trying to like beat a time, um, but like I like I found it running.

Speaker 2:

I definitely will keep it up, but back to like, toning it down to like maybe one 5k a week yeah, do you like, like pushing yourself to that kind of extreme when you have a lot of things going on when it's not a professional sport?

Speaker 1:

it's. I'm telling you now, lads, it's hard to try keep up. Like for me, I found it really hard to keep up with work because I was in my peak month of work, was training for a marathon, and then obviously you know in like obviously with a coach as well, like you literally dedicate your whole life to training. Like it's hard unless you're a professional. I think like it's just not that it's impossible, because everything is possible, but it is a lot of dedication and like a lot of wear and tear in the body as well definitely like and you're trying.

Speaker 2:

You're trying to balance everything out. Like your, your day-to-day life, work yeah, it's not that. Like when you see like I had actually this conversation with someone before um about this, because like a couple years ago I think we were actually speaking about on the podcast, but like I got a little bit OTT with it yeah, with fitness and it was just to the fact of the matter was like we're not professional athletes. Like we actually have a day to day job. We have things that we need to get done, we've got bills to pay, but like, when it comes to, like, footballers or runners or tennis players, whatever, maybe it's their job, yeah, so it's. It's a completely different lifestyle. Yeah, a hundred percent. Do you get what I'm trying to say? Like it's going to either run yourself into the ground or just like you'll end up just hitting a brick wall. So you have to take things into to moderation and like work around, your actual your, your life structure and your job, and then your fitness comes after yeah, a hundred percent.

Speaker 1:

Like it's exactly like that, like and especially like, I suppose with a lot of like, even like people who their job is fitness, that's it. Like they dedicate their life, that's their job, so they're going into it as their job. But I feel like when you are working, yes, you 100% can prioritize it, like me, and you do like we will still be busy, and try to get to the gym even for 30 minutes, like it doesn't have to be a hardcore session.

Speaker 2:

I feel like it's just. We just need to move our body. It's just.

Speaker 1:

It's for my mind yeah, I was actually talking with this on Casey Lord today like it actually is just about movement. It's like it's not like you even have to be trying to like, like, do something, like extravagant, it's just about moving your body and getting the blood going and getting rid of stress from the day. I feel as well, isn't it? Like I feel that we're running. Now, I have to say, after a 5k run versus a weight session, I actually think you feel more alive, you feel more less stress after a run than a weight session. So if you are really stressed, anyone, just get out and bait the roads out of it, because you'll come back with no anxiety. Yeah, the anxiety is left in the ditch, literally, isn't it? Though it's, it's completely different.

Speaker 2:

Like I don't know, it's strange, like it's mad yeah, it is crazy, though, how people like you can grow to love something like I remember a couple years ago, like if someone told me to run across the road, I'd be like absolutely not, I'd be the same.

Speaker 1:

I only started doing it, though, because I was like I want to get my heart like going and get healthy, like, but I don't like no, to the extreme of, like some people, I don't know, sometimes I don't really think it has a negative effect on your body, for a woman anyway. Apparently I don't think women now correct me if I'm wrong everyone but I just don't think women are designed to like run as fast as males, and I don't know if that's got to do with, like our hips, because we do have slightly like wider hips, um, but they like I don't know men's legs are longer as well. I don't know, they don't have, like you know, women have generally more fat like kind of around their like hips and thighs, where I feel like males don't really have that they can run that bit like speedier um but it's actually like it's.

Speaker 2:

It's shown, like proven, that even running on the roads in the long run is going to like you're going to have an effect on your body if you're actually like a runner runner like, not as if, like you're going to have an effect on your body if you're actually like a runner runner like, not as if, like you're doing marathons now and again or you're going for a run or whatever.

Speaker 1:

But it's because, like the pounding off the road on your bones, like it has a really bad effect that's why you have to really like invest in good runners, physios like every three weeks, like like proper vitamins for your joints, like it actually is very expensive to do maritimes and stuff like. If you're doing it like obviously to like try b-times and things like that.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, well, you don't need to, like you said, like you need to invest in like proper runners, like I'm telling you, being fit is actually more expensive than just not being fit, because I'm a bender every week yeah it costs a fortune with everything.

Speaker 1:

Well, it is all about balance and I think that's like the motto of today, like I feel like it is about just mixing things up and it's okay to change if you want to change, like, from doing certain things like that, if you want to go from, like, running to pilates or swimming, or I think it is just about movement and getting out and just being a bit active every day. It doesn't have to be like extreme, do you know, unless you're going for a goal other than that.

Speaker 2:

It's just about moving the body yeah, and keeping fit and healthy yeah, and you've a happy, healthier mind in life that's it, and just working around your lifestyle as well, isn't it?

Speaker 1:

just breathe.

Speaker 2:

Melissa and simone are here to listen so on this week's juicy dodgers dilemma we have hi girls, I'm in a bit of a crumble. I recently moved to germany as my company sent me there for a project super good money, so couldn't say no and would be a mate. An amazing experience. Anywho, lo and behold, I'm working amongst the ceo and he asked me to catch up after work for dinner with him and some of the managers. When I got there, I ended up being just us. Things got a bit weird. Bear in mind I'm 22 and he's in his 60s. He started making moves, rubbing my leg and making disgusting sexual comments. I was lucky that one of the guys from the office came near the end so I could make an exit. I honestly don't know what to do and I feel like it's going to get very uncomfortable working in that environment for a month until I return home. I don't know what to do and I don't want to lose my job. What should I do?

Speaker 1:

sneaky Germans. Huh, oh my god, oh my gosh, this is a dilemma and a half it is, but it's given me like major, like ache and stomach oh no, and because she's in a different country, I feel like it's like a lot different if she was just in Ireland. I don't know, because, like, what's she going to do? Like you know, I don't know.

Speaker 2:

Like it's completely like it's a weird situation because he's a CEO and obviously he's going to report back to. Like you know, I don't. She never even said where she's from, so I don't know if she's where she's from.

Speaker 1:

But like I think, right, you know the lad that came into the office. I think she should say it to him, just bring it up and like, um, see, I don't know if he's another CEO or what, if he's maybe the same age as her, see, that's I don't know. But like you could say to him, but like, oh, I really you know, I was delighted to see you when he came into. Like, oh, I really you know, I was delighted to see you when he came into the office the other day. To be honest, I was.

Speaker 1:

They went out for dinner okay, she could say like I was really delighted that you came in at that time, because I actually felt really uncomfortable. I don't know what happened, but he, like you know, was making a bit like sexual remarks to me and I just I was, I felt really uncomfortable and then like at least you're kind of telling someone, yeah, um, and then like if it ever like happened again, then you can like have a witness definitely well, like it is hard one, because, like, what do you do?

Speaker 1:

like, do you, do you confront it? Do you confront it? And then like, like you should confront it. I don't know why we're even like, well, it's just. It's just like the society that we're in, that you're always. Women are always put in this oracle position that like they're going to lose their job because some arsehole has been a dickhead yeah, like I just think it's wrong on so many levels, like not even the age difference.

Speaker 2:

It doesn't matter what age they are, even if it was the same ages. You know, like you can't be treating a woman that way, nor should a woman be treating a man that way. I know it's completely different, but like that's sexual harassment yeah, even though like outside of work, like it's still not okay to know, like it's, it's just not okay.

Speaker 1:

I don't know like do you think that she should go like, say it straight to his face in the office yeah, you see, I'm the type of person where I just don't like anything like that, like.

Speaker 2:

I would say it how it is and I probably would have stopped it there and then. But I know when you're in a situation it's easier said than done like I get, yeah, but if he passes off in the office, like even if she is a bit scared and worried about her job or whatever it may be I know she's going home, back home to work in a month but like she could just say, look, I didn't really like how you approached me, like while we were sat there I kind of felt a little bit uncomfortable and I have a boyfriend, like even just make things up. Like I've been in situations where like no one has done anything like that to me.

Speaker 2:

Thank, god but like I don't want to hurt someone else's feelings and I just come across and say, oh sorry, I have a boyfriend. It's just. It's just one of those things that kind of brushes people away from you. I think it's the case either.

Speaker 1:

No, but I just think it's more awkward of those things, that kind of brushes people away from you. I think you need the case either no, but I just think it's more awkward when they're older, because I feel like if it was someone her own age, she'd be like wait, will you have a boyfriend, or whatever. Yeah, when it's someone that has I don't know, to have this like authority, because you think they're older and they're like the CEO and you're underneath them, I feel like it's a bit of a power trip.

Speaker 1:

It's a power trip and I, and it's terrible, but I feel like, as women, we do get, like, as you said, like she probably. You don't realize, maybe until you're in the moment, like, with these things you'd be like I should have said this or I should have said that, but sometimes you just freeze because you like actually don't know how to react. Um, I just feel like when, since he's a bit older, it's a bit more like, is she, like she must obviously love her job and she's obviously thinking, if I say this, am I going to lose my job, even though that shouldn't be the case. But we have to be realistic. It is still the fucking world we live in that, like people have the power.

Speaker 2:

It's obviously completely different. Like she obviously loves her job, like she obviously loves it enough to like go over to another country to kind of support on this new project or whatever it may be. But like I just think in general, like I would just say it how it is, because if you don't, god only knows who he's going to say it to next yeah, worst case scenario is that he might get the hump, but realistically he cannot sack you or say do anything bad, because you'll have one up on him anyway yeah, so do you think?

Speaker 2:

our advice, then, is to say it straight up to him yeah, she did say that she works amongst him, so, like if she's in the office with him, my advice would be he's obviously going to say something and he might say oh look, I was a bit drunk, whatever, just be like. Look, if I'm being honest, I just felt a little bit uncomfortable, especially regarding, like, in the workplace and stuff like that. I just it's not ideal and yeah plus.

Speaker 2:

I have a boyfriend, but like it can't, it shouldn't happen anyway. Yeah, you know what I mean. Like it can't, it shouldn't happen anyway, you know what I mean. Like it just shouldn't, but just be pleasant about it and if it happens again, obviously like you need to go a little bit further, because that's just weird it is fucking weird.

Speaker 1:

I just don't see how men still, at this day and age, think they've the ego to like. I don't know, I just feel like it is an ego power trip, especially when they're like CEOs, I don't know, and young girls, it's like, it's very scary and sad to see that these things do happen, though and I think the older generation as well like that.

Speaker 1:

They're like 60, 70, they're in different generation, like back then it was acceptable, but now it's not. But they still haven't copped on to that, like you know. I mean like what was acceptable back then is not acceptable now of like how you speak women. No, it's terrible, isn't that? Yeah, but anyway, girl, I feel for you and we hope that you get sorted and and your proof is here on the podcast exactly yes, your proof is right here.

Speaker 1:

We will be witnesses. If you have any dilemmas or stories, send them in to the beautyblondespodcastgmailcom or you can dm me and Simone either, right? So this game of the week, we are come shopping us, and this is my favorite game. It is where I pick something and Simone is the guest the price of it. So, simone, I'm going to send you first one. So my my topic today and come shopping with us is shoes, with is shoes. So I want you to have a look at these shoes that paul put up and I want you to tell me what you think these beautiful, these beautiful items cost. Now, they're kind of they look like, kind of like top dancing shoes.

Speaker 1:

Yes, they're, I don't know, they're like they remind me of my father's shoes, like they used three years ago kind of give an old man wedding shoes um? Are they like women's boots in the middle of them, though? Are they? Are they men I?

Speaker 2:

don't know.

Speaker 1:

He looks like a bit of a cowboy paul yeah, now he's standing the tree from together for a price, so what do you think they cost? 20 euros for three of those no, simone, that they were actually 30 euro.

Speaker 2:

Oh well, I wasn't too far off right next ones.

Speaker 1:

Now these are sexy motherfuckers. So these are lovely shoes from. They're a wedge shoe from someone in leitrim. They're a size three.

Speaker 2:

If you want to buy them, tell me how much you think they are oh really, girl, your fashion is unbelievable it'd be lovely now when you're with jack fowler a dj, oh god I think I, I wouldn't even give a fiver for those like what are those like? No, what are they? Do you know what it looks like? Do you know? Like back years ago, like in a, in a castle? Yeah, it looks like curtains.

Speaker 1:

It does look like the fabric on it looks like curtains and they have a little like de monta thing in between, the little bow thing, which, but anyway, right, simone, you wouldn't give a fiver for them. Is that what you're saying? Absolutely not. No, well, they are a fiver, so they're in your budget. But it made me think. Why would you even bother? Are they actually fine? I swear to god.

Speaker 2:

I'm really good at this game.

Speaker 1:

But I'm like, why would you even bother? Right, post them up for a fiver, right, you could have been the bin and saved someone. Just bring them to the charity shop. You go to the effort of uploading the pictures to Done Deal, right. Then you're going to get people messaging you about the shoes. You have to go meet someone and they're going to hand you a fiver. How embarrassing, about the shoes. You have to go meet someone and they're gonna hand you a fiver. Like, like I know times can be hard, yeah, but what you're after, giving up like your time wise wouldn't even cover you getting the fiver. Do you know what I mean?

Speaker 2:

yeah, no, I'm sorry oh, they're just keep the keep the brogues yeah, just just keep them right.

Speaker 1:

Last ones and these are sexy motherfuckers. And these are from clomel and county tip. And these are lovely running shoes from a man. Now they should. They should have went into the bin. I'm sorry, like I can smell them from here yeah, just put them into the bin. Like ray, wheeling's been good luck. Like how much do you think air?

Speaker 2:

forces that are absolutely catmalosian like what? Oh god, no, like I'm sorry, but I'm embarrassed yeah, I'll tell you some of these.

Speaker 1:

You can't even wash it with a baby wipe.

Speaker 2:

Like there's muck on the laces, yeah, and there's like stains on them. It's giving me the ick and fear all the month what do you think this man wants for these runners?

Speaker 1:

10 euros no, he obviously. What do you think this man wants for these runners? 10 euros? No, he obviously now is expecting, too much, because he wants 15 for them.

Speaker 2:

I feel like do you know who? I feel like this could be who. I always put a story to someone's shows when they're selling things like this and someone's selling something, he's a child in school doing the leave and search, he's working the weekends and he's looking for a bit of extra money to sell his air forces. He could be.

Speaker 1:

Simone, you could be right. This is a young lad in school. He has a part time job. He's looking for money to buy a few vapes, maybe, and a few naggins, and clearly he's just chancing his arm, isn't he? This tip man is just chancing his arm to get a few vapes and a few naggins.

Speaker 2:

We need to pop these images up on the radio this week Because people need to understand where we're coming from, because this is not okay.

Speaker 1:

But he got 26 views.

Speaker 2:

I'm afraid to do that because people are going to come at us being like they're my shoes 26 views.

Speaker 1:

That's ridiculous. So if you sold your shoes, let us know. So for our weekly affirmation we have. Changing my mind is a strength, not a weakness. I love that, yeah. Well, thank you for tuning in for our little bougie episode this week.
