Dec 05, 2023 Season 2 Episode 7
Alix Robinson & Colleen O'Dea

Serial entrepreneur and doer of cool things, Nicole Myles Brook joins us at the Mic. As the 1st female president of a 78 year old business, Nicole chats about how this position came to be and how the role has changed her as she fought through thoughts around both nepotism and imposter syndrome.

Nicole talks about bringing your “whole self” to the role, her fears around failure (especially during the pandemic), her learning curve to get into this position, and how proud she is that she bet on herself.

Along with her position as President of Big Eric’s, Nicole and her husband own The Nook on Gottingen Street - a Social Enterprise coffee shop helping out people in the Halifax community. We chat about how they started the initiative and how important it is to give back.

In this episode we chat about trusting your intuition, allowing ourselves to see what others see,  jumping into a project even when you don’t think you’re ready, ADHD, Leading Ladies Networking, Harvard Business School. Women's Equity Lab and more.
