"The Amazing Spider-Man" is a 2012 superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man. Directed by Marc Webb, the film serves as a reboot of the Spider-Man film series and stars Andrew Garfield as the titular character, Peter Parker/Spider-Man. The cast also includes Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curt Connors/The Lizard, Denis Leary as Captain George Stacy, Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben, and Sally Field as Aunt May.

The film follows Peter Parker, a high school student who was abandoned by his parents as a child and raised by his Uncle Ben and Aunt May. Peter discovers a briefcase belonging to his father, leading him to Oscorp and Dr. Curt Connors, his father's former partner. While exploring Oscorp, Peter is bitten by a genetically modified spider, gaining spider-like abilities.

Peter decides to use his new powers to track down and capture the criminal who killed his Uncle Ben. His search leads him to a confrontation with Dr. Connors, who has transformed into the monstrous Lizard. As Spider-Man, Peter must stop the Lizard from spreading a mutagenic serum that could transform the entire city into lizard-like creatures.

"The Amazing Spider-Man" received generally positive reviews for its performances, particularly those of Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, as well as its action sequences and visual effects. However, some critics felt the film retreaded familiar ground by retelling Spider-Man's origin story so soon after the original trilogy. So sit back, relax, grab yourself a drink and get comfy as we do a deep dive into this 2012 Spider-Man movie.
