The night before I recorded this episode, I was reflecting on the fact that Chewy has never known TRUE cruelty. He knows fear. But he knows fear in a very different way than other animals do. Chewy knows the feeling of the fear when it comes to getting a bath or going to the vet. He knows fear in the sense of hearing a noise and not knowing where it came from. But he doesn't know fear when it comes to true cruelty. Unfortunately, that's not the case for many animals throughout the world.
I feel extremely blessed that Chewy doesn't know true cruelty, but it also makes me sad to think about the of the beauty of his life in comparison to the true cruelty that many animals live day in, day out. That CONTRAST between Chewy's life experiences & other animals life experiences had me thinking a lot, and I felt extremely called to share my thought processes in this episode.
