Speaker 2:

Hey, hey, hey. You are now tuned in to the it's the Human Experience podcast. I'm your host, hazel Brown. Listen, guys. Hey, if it's your first time tuning into the podcast, welcome, welcome. Thanks for tuning in for all my return listeners. Hey, girl, hey, listen. I am so excited to be listening to all the feedback, to be working on growing as a person, but also within the platform of the podcast. It's so great to be able to know that we're growing collectively together.

Speaker 2:

When we think about connecting with like-minded people, like-minded women, it's amazing to be able to attract the kind of people who are genuine and authentic, want to see others win, really root for others, openly discuss some of their barriers, their triggers and things that they're going through in life. And I just want to say, if you haven't found your people, if you haven't found your tribe of women or men or whoever, whatever your tribe looks like for you, I need you to go find it. And that really starts by being more authentic. It really starts by being more honest and true to yourself. It really starts by loving yourself. It really starts by assessing what triggers you, what you like, what you don't like, so that you can better understand the kind of people you want around you, the kind of things that matter the most to you, the kind of work that you want to do, who you want to do that work with. All those things matter right, and I wanted to get into the heart of that, because so many times we're expecting our tribe to find us, we're wanting that connection in that circle, but we haven't taken the time to love ourselves or analyze what means the most to us, what we value and whatnot. So I really wanted to take some time to talk about that preparation work. Right, because you got to prepare before you really take off, before you really get to what you want to do and where you want to be and who you are and who you want to do it with.

Speaker 2:

And the reason this became so significant and so important for me to mention is recently in that flight right going to another city and I go to cities all the time, but I've just been making sure that I'm very mindful and in the moment here lately, cities all the time, but I've just been making sure that I'm very mindful and in the moment, here lately, and so through that I was like wait, hold on, look at all the work and all the people that goes into a simple takeoff right, like we just get on a plane, we're just excited about where we're going. But there's so much groundwork happening as we're getting our bags checked in, as our bags are being put on the flight, as layovers are happening, as we're getting our bags checked in, as our bags are being put on the flight, as layovers are happening, as we're sitting there waiting, there are people that are coming to another destination or from another destination, and we don't know what they've gone through, whether they were where they were from a good experience, a bad experience, whether or not they're excited because they just had some monumental moments within their life, or what they're getting off the plane to come address. And so I was kind of thinking through all those things, right, as we think about the human experience, and I wanted to make sure that we are really taking the time to slow down. Slow down and enjoy what is in front of you. So many times we're so worried about what is in front of us, and that's different, right. We're worried about what's in front of us, as in the next year, in the next 10 years, the next 20 years, the next week, the next month, tomorrow, that we don't spend enough time in front of us today really making sure that we are one with the life that we're currently living. We are showing up for ourselves, we're showing up for the people we love. We're making sure that it's solid before we try to get to the next level.

Speaker 2:

There are so many times that we are so concerned about what is to come that we're not spending enough time with what we currently have, and I know this is not new to you. I know you've heard this already, but I think sometimes we hear things and we think we know it, but we don't know it. We don't know it Like you've heard it, but have you ever spent the time to be still enough to observe what's going on within your life, within your day-to-day life? Like, is that how you like to show up? What about the way that you show up and the way that you live your day-to-day life? Do you want to change? What do you love? Do you really spend time getting into the heart of your life, as opposed to just living it and wanting something different? Like really asking yourself why do you want something different?

Speaker 2:

That is so important as we think about next steps. I had a conversation recently, actually with one of my nephews, and the conversation had a lot to do with how, when we're trying to get to the next level, if you will, many times we're thinking about what our end goal is. Right, and I'm sure you've heard like end goal, reverse engineers, small steps, goal setting, smart goals all the things we talk about on the podcast, right, but what happens is you're so focused on your end goal that you are not concerned with the steps that you have to take in between them and those small steps. From the perspective of not getting overwhelmed, not letting fear get in the way. Those small steps are where it's at or you will fall.

Speaker 2:

Those small steps are what helps to build your character, build your toolkit, build your grit, build your muscle, build your personality, help you understand your personality, help you learn different people, help you understand what you like and what you don't like, who you like and who you don't like, who you like and who you don't like. Right, it helps you learn all the things, but we try to skip it. We don't like the process, we don't like the mess, we don't like anything that comes with heartache or suffering or pain. But is it really heartache, is it really pain? Are you really suffering? Are you better understanding your feelings? Are you better understanding your triggers? Are you really suffering? Are you better understanding your feelings? Are you better understanding your triggers? Are you better understanding what feels right, who shows up, what shows up, all the things, so that you can better understand who you are Like? How are you going to try to get in the ring Game day?

Speaker 2:

But you don't know if your left hand punched better than your right hand. You don't know if you can knock them out with the uppercut, you don't really know if you're ready for the fight, but you know that you want to get in the ring. You want to get to the finish line, and the reality is like you don't want to show up to the finish line unequipped. You want to show up to the finish line unequipped. You want to show up to the finish line with the tools that you need to be the best version of you so that, whoever it is that you serve, whatever gifts it is that you have, those gifts are used in a way to where we know they come from excellence, we know they're of God and we can't know that it's from excellence. We can't know if it's of God if we haven't sharpened our toolkit, if we haven't allowed ourselves to get down to the bottom, to know our strengths, to know our triggers, to where. We know who to bring on board with us right. We know what coach we need. We know what manager we need. We know what planner we need. We know what we need to be able to execute effectively because we truly understand our strengths and our weaknesses.

Speaker 2:

I don't know who this message is for, but I want it to be obedient and make sure that I shared it with you. Like it is so important that you unpack and unlearn some of the things that we are brainwashed with. Right, we are programmed and we are taught that we need to do this, we need to be busy, we need to show up, we need to do all the things, get everything done and be all the things, but there's no one person that can be all the things and do all the things at the same exact time. So it is so important that we get into the hearts of who we are, how we want to spend our time here on this world, so that we can armor ourselves with the right kind of people around us. That builds us, lifts us up, helps us become better people. We lift them up, we pour into them. They pour into us, but from a place of no ulterior motives, from a place of I just want everyone to win. I, it's really thinking to yourself how am I blooming where I'm planted Like I'm heavy on blooming where you're planted how am I becoming the best version of myself? Are the people around me really pouring into that version of myself? Am I able to pour into them? Because it's not all about me, but are the connections genuine? Do we have the same values? But are the connections genuine? Do we have the same values?

Speaker 2:

When we think about weaknesses, it's understandable that maybe your circle has strengths that you don't. You have strengths that they don't. That iron sharpens iron thing is real and you definitely want to make sure you have that. But you also want to make sure that the relationships that you have around you are not one where you're stepping on each other but you are open to sharing each other's names and rooms that they're not in. You are willing to make sure that you're not gatekeeping and you're holding people back. You are at a place where you are open to opportunities for yourself and others, because you understand that there's enough for everyone, for yourself and others, because you understand that there's enough for everyone. And it's just so important that we're in a place of like openness and being fluid in our journeys and in our lives, because we go further together. We go further together when it's authentic, it's genuine, we mean others well and we're living a life that is truly aligned with our being. We're showing up authentically and we're not trying to carve out and forge relationships with other people simply because we're priming them for something else.

Speaker 2:

I really want to make sure that we spend time in building ourselves up, learning who we are, because I think that when we do that, there's less of looking in someone else's lane, because I think that when we do that, there's less of looking in someone else's lane, there's less of thinking that we have to hold other people back. There's less of us just not feeling like we're good enough to do certain things. Those limiting beliefs they go away when you learn who you are, because you don't have to know everything. You don't have to do everything. There is a tribe, a group of women, a group of people out there in this world that want to see you win.

Speaker 2:

But you have to want to see you win first, you have to stop skipping the things that really matter, because those are the things that's going to help you grow. Those are the things that's going to help you understand who you are. Those are the things that's going to help you win. Those are the things that's going to help you understand who you are. Those are the things that's going to help you win. Those are the things that's going to help you succeed and become the version of yourself that you are dying to become.

Speaker 2:

You desperately want to be your highest self, and in order to become your highest self, you have to address and get low with your lowest self. You have to make sure that you are pouring into yourself. You are reflecting, you are journaling and you are actively working on the things that you need to work on. We all have things to work on. Stop avoiding the things that you need to work on. Pour into yourself. Make it happen. I am rooting for you. I want to see you win Now. You get out your way and go win.
