Welcome back to the right hand drive guys podcast the podcast for guys who like right hand drives as always on Bobby This is Aaron. Yeah, yeah, and this is episode 81 and we're back for this month, which is June 2024 episode of the marketplace suite. Let's go. So If you're new here, what we do is we each take a region in the United States and we search marketplace for what we believe is the best JDM or right hand drive cars available currently in those regions But next month we're actually going to try to change it up. We're gonna search through Japan auctions and you know anything that we can find for cars for sale in Japan. Yep, and We're going to go ahead and just spit those to you Give marketplace a break for a month try something different. Maybe you'll find a car that somebody like Trevor can help you in Bored. Oh, yeah, that'd be dope. All right. Cool. So I did the Midwest pretty much You know from Colorado to Missouri, you know, Texas. I think I had one from Nashville, but What'd you do? Well, I started with New York. Yep, but then I Saw that a couple of Canadian cities were pretty close by so I Expanded the range to include Ontario and Toronto and Ottawa And so it would let you do that. Yeah, it would let you see Canada. Yeah, dude surprisingly. I was like oh Oh, yeah, Canada is just right over there. Yeah, and somewhat localish to us, you know closer than you know whatever a drive to It's closer to Canada than California That's for sure so all right cool You want to start it off this month go ahead. Yeah, so also one thing to remember about Canada's they don't have a 25 year Law they have a 15 a 15 so if you're a hot boy, you know, you can find a deal on a car and I mean you can store it in Canada just like you can in the States so with some of these cars that's like I feel like something Yeah, you might have you might have a few few good ones in there because there are guys that have 34s Sitting in Japan. I'm sorry sitting in Canada just like they would have in Japan, right? So you know just waiting for 25 years boom. It's a lot closer to ship it from Canada than it is Japan Right, right and also another thing about Canada. I think a lot of these prices are gonna be in Canadian So one thing to remember about that is like one dollar Canadian is roughly like 35 cents here. Yeah, so a 30 thousand dollar Canadian is like 20 thousand Yes, roughly so when it's any prices keep that in mind. There is a conversion rate there So single that first one I got up for sale is a 2001 skyline GT special edition I don't know what makes it special edition. I don't I haven't really heard of that but then again Haven't seen a lot of the newer like a 2001 R34. Yeah, for sure You know what I mean? So this one says directly the imported from Japan registered in Ontario lots of new parts fresh paint job dude. It does have like That candy like it is For you know an RB 20 car. Yeah, he's asking 25,000 Canadian so that's like whatever 17 something like that. Yeah somewhere around that yeah and listen to data go and Niagara falls on Ontario. So that's like literally Right over the border right over the border. So I mean, yeah, that's a good deal But again, you're waiting till 2026 to be able to bring that over right at 1617 grand What I mean new paint suite, but like what is that really add up to for that car? Yeah, true and what can you get it in Japan right now for so You know that if that's hard right it's one of those things because of the storage like this is different than what we normally do normally There isn't the type of car where like it's a newer car than what you can even have But it's like just over the border to where you get away, you know So that'll be interesting to hear here the rest of what you got so my first one from San Antonio, Texas is a 1996 Honda Civic hatchback 1.4 I mean, it's a you know EK3 hatchback. Yeah, and Of course, it's got that 96 front end, but it is 59,000 kilometers so not much. Yeah, I mean, it's it's clean for sure like it's a it's a clean Yeah, yeah, you know base model car, right? So it would be great for a case swap with you know Certain parts I can imagine you know Honda guys putting on here some interior work for 11 grand he wants So that's like I saw remember like two months ago. There was that one for 10k that was like super like Yeah, it would low low miles so He listed this about a day ago, so I don't know. I'll be interested to see How this goes for him and if he lowers that down to more like 9500 you know 10,000 like and he'll probably find a solid buyer. Yeah, yeah for sure Pretty cool pretty cool to see like I don't know even the base models trickling into the states Oh for sure. Yeah, because it's like they've run out of like cool Yeah, for sure. Go ahead cool next up from me. I got a 2001 another 2001 Nissan Silvia, so it's an S15 He's asking $25,000 in Toronto, Ontario First word of the description says drift missile But I mean it kind of brings up a good point if you're also looking for a car that you want to go drive immediately like 2001 Silvia you don't have to worry about registering that if you're just gonna turn it into your track car or whatever it might be Yeah, so right because you can still have it here as an off-road vehicle Right like just like you could bomb around whatever in your backyard, right? So you can you can bring it in like you go to go through the border They're not gonna not let you bring it right as long as you have proper sale paperwork right right You can you can bring it so but then why are people storing it? Why would you ever store it? Maybe to get the import paperwork or something Maybe one of our listeners. Yeah, yeah, hit us up if you know anything about we obviously haven't gotten a car from Canada We don't know nothing about Canada. We're speculating. I never even thought about it until Just now we're speculating but maybe you can't have it in America Even if you're not registering it right like I mean Legality it has to be de-registered in Canada or something or yeah, so let us know about that But so he is this a spec are yeah, it's a spec are six-speed manual transmission Scott turbo manifold bunch of HKS electronics Just the typical drift mods like oh, yeah, okay. Yeah 25,000 Canadian and you know, that's 18,000 bucks. So like that's decent for a spec are but again These aren't body panels that are clean and straight so to speak they've been worked on this thing's probably been ripped You know, it's got a cage in it and all that so it's Yeah, it's probably seen some shit, you know and sand so But still not a bad not a bad buy if you're looking to get into a turnkey type car. What it's how long ago This was listed about a day ago. Jeez. That's right. I know that's what I'm saying these are like kind of hot So I have a 98 Stagia 25 T RS with the V arrow package um Guy imported it last fall uh, it's got 100,000 miles so whatever 100 and whatever thousand kilometers. Um, he imported it he says But he has other things he wants to pursue um And yeah, I mean he's got Some like nismo maximum. I don't know what he's got on here for wheels. What are those off from? I don't even know those are those are just g 35 will g 35. Yeah, they're not even named nismo. They just stickers Um, yeah, but so this thing is in merfreesboro so You know right down the road from Nashville. It was listed 25 days ago He says everything works. It's a great running car. So this does have the um The RB 25 in it And he's asking 19 grand So I mean fair price. I think you know, not like a crazy good deal, but definitely he's not on crack or nothing So um, yeah, maybe we'll see him at ia if he hasn't sold it by then Nice. Yeah, go ahead. Cool next step for me uh This one. I don't even know what to think of this is a Subaru sandbar The sunbar. Yeah, but however bathing ape van Dude, it's got the bathing ape wrap on it and also Doesn't show in this picture, but it's got the uh Volkswagen like old school like bus front end. Oh wow. So it's like it doesn't look like a sandbar pretty much Yeah, and the whole interior and everything has been done on this thing. It is it's a show car for sure You know, I mean, how much does it want for that dude? 5000 Canadian I imagine, but it's one of those things where You know, it's been completely gone through it's been well maintained You know, it's it's one of those things you're not gonna see another one like it, but right you're paying that price for it Oh for sure like a bathing ape I guess that's yeah, it's you're into that flex for sure Yeah That's cool though. I love to see the unique ones that you know people put their personal touches on yeah, yeah, and The the front end on those that's pretty cool like the it may it changes the whole look. Yeah, yeah, look how much glasses on that thing like the glass Already with those like the whole thing is glass for yeah, it looks like it's crazy Yeah, that's what we've done have a date on it, but I imagine they still got in that way. Oh, no, I'm sorry Ontario on terror or Toronto whatever that all means I know So I have listed six days ago down in Houston, H town We got a 96 Honda Odyssey Nice Right-hand drive of course 168,000 kilometers and See all will drive oh It's the all will drive and I mean, I just thought this was dope if you got a family It's got the window visors. It's got like the ground effects kit, you know, and um These I believe have the B20 or something in them and so they run forever usually so That is at 11.5 right now listed again six days ago so If you need like a family whip and you want to still live the right-hand drive lifestyle Odyssey works dude it does and actually on that note the next one up for me is a 2007 Honda Odyssey I know it kind of crazy and it's listed for 11,000 Canadian which is Not much 7500 bucks and then like it's got a that front end that people Oh, that's dope. Yeah, they made a body kit back in the day that people would use those on the S13 Soviets. Yeah So always always visualize that whenever I see those so immediately think it's cool. This one's on T37s What that's cheap for that one Yeah, I mean it's compared to what I just show you yeah, and it's got a K24 7 cedar It's got all the apple play and all that dude. What year was that nine and oh seven What yeah, that's not legal How's that word dude? I don't know but they got it like who's pulling over a Honda Odyssey minivan and That's so true dude that thing is sick on some t37s if you're not on YouTube Yeah, you should check it out because that's actually a deal I mean, I don't know like we said if he has That registered some way somehow but for 9000 oh, no mine that's 15 years for them. Yeah, so I forget it's in Canada I'm not used to that so in like dude what's cool about their vans is like they have regular backdoors like they don't have Sliding goofy looking door that like How the kills the look of it. Yeah, like they just got normal doors, and it's just a bit. They're just huge ass doors Pretty cool though listed 20 days ago someone go pick it up. Oh Up in Canada or someone store it for the next like seven years. Yeah 100% yeah So all right, we're heavy on the Honda's right now. I have listed a day ago in San Antonio and 95 DBA type R Um, it's got pretty high kilometers at 268,000 but It's still got you know, it's AC power steering ABS has got all that's mostly stock Yeah, and he is asking 16 995 So I mean, he's in price. Yeah, I mean It was the first year. I know there is it's not even in 95 it's in 96. He's got that wrong Anyways, it's in 96 first year. So it's got the four by one 14 and seven you know same one I had just Probably needs a little more love than that one did yeah, you know at 268,000 kilometers. Yeah, um boom Cool next up. I got a 2005 Toyota crown estate Big boy wagon Yeah, I mean the Toyota crowns are pretty cool. It's a Toyota big body. So like what's not to love right Uh, this one's listed for 15,000 Canadian listed 24 days ago in Toronto Um, yeah, it's got a 2jz in it. No shit No shit But a 2jz fsc. I don't know what the fsc is. I haven't heard of that mean neither not you know super big up on the Toyota's but Uh, this car is very good condition with rare leather seats zero rust no mechanical issues Feel free to come on check it out. This is the final year as well. Wow, and is it on wheels or anything like that or is it just uh stock Yeah, it's on some like I don't know what kind of wheels they are, but they're like full face it kind of reminds you of like Type or shape. Yeah, sweet dad dad wagon. Yeah, yeah, it's got a roof rack like dude. It's got a cool wing on it Is that real world driver? Yeah, real drive. Yeah, so That's cool. Uh, pretty cool car especially for the price, you know roughly What around 10k 10k? I mean, yeah, if you're right. I mean, this is that's a good entry level type thing But that's Canadian again. What year was it? No, five so you still got some dude you still got some dangerous waters with those things We're gonna have guys knocking down doors thinking they can pick these cars up right now. I mean they can they can Store you gotta figure something out, you know whether but like Yes, I don't know. Yeah, I'd like to see what the Japanese prices are on these cars right now and then compare storage fees Just see how does this Add up right right, you know because I feel like maybe the cars are a little cheaper in Japan right now than like What these guys are still kind of pan-retail-ish like North American prices right like as opposed to like actually Yeah, I mean, I feel like some of them are low, but I imagine the skyline which I'm sure I'll get to soon The skylines and you know those premium type cars are still pulling that American premium. Yeah, yeah, that's what I mean, yeah, but they're already legal other than the 34s. Yeah That's true. All right, so Listed two months ago in Alan, Texas. I have a 94 Toyota Supra. This is NA It is red and You know, it's titled it was imported in 2023 runs great 18 inch wheels whatever, but He's asking 39 Not very pretty much. He's asking 40 grand. He was asking 44 or 5 and He's not selling it. So he's not it's not selling for that So what is the what is it gonna sell for because it's not in like bag condition or anything right, you know like it's A nice car interesting The miles he didn't list it was kind of weird. I'm like dude you gotta list some miles if you're asking 40 grand. That's probably half your problem, but Even so that means that he's gonna have to take less. I think he's probably gonna end up settling at 36 or 35 or yeah, maybe I don't know these kind of are like The red hand drive super market history especially NA, you know, so he's asking like Left hand drive prices. Oh, yeah, that's a that's a wild thing like props to you super guys for completely making this one car Two separate things based on where the steering wheel is at Pretty well But yeah in Alan, Texas. He's asking 40 grand go talk him down a bit. Oh, yeah, talk him talk some sense into him Cool up for me. I got a 1990 Nissan Skyline GTS type T hold on Type M M pole 532s Oh, yeah, I lost say that five times seriously Listed for 36,500 which you know roughly is you know 26,000 and some change I think Not a bad looking car. It's extremely well Well preserved and rare Imple car attaches the photos from magazines for an impol Car was a grade four It's got the original arrow. It's got a mind's ECU It's still you know GTSD at the end of the day So like 26k for a nice GTSD isn't so bad. I don't think yeah, no, I don't think so either so But yeah pretty cool car. Let me see. Let me see. Bam. Oh, that's cool. It's still got the little graphics and yeah, yeah, yeah That's cool and I mean it just looks period correct. It's got like a different wing obviously different arrows Yeah, yeah, that's it. I think it's totally cool goodbye right there So speaking in GTSD's I have a 92 32 GTST Listed about a month ago in Texas. It's got the RB20 It's got 149,000 kilometers, so not crazy. Yeah, man And it's white You know the four door and he's asking 16 grand. It was a sit-about a month ago. He still has it You know at this point So I feel like this could be a good buy for somebody if you can go up to the student get him to do 14 five even 15 like yeah for 150,000 kilometer GTSD that's not bad at all. There is what's up what's up with it? Yeah He doesn't yeah, he doesn't mention anything but um I mean, yeah, I would at least hit him up if you're looking for a four door because This is a great beginning as long as yeah the trunk's not rusted out or something Crazy like that. Yeah, yeah, awesome. What do you got cool? I got a 1999 Toyota Chaser Listed four months ago and waterloo, Ontario 40,000 bucks roughly 30,000 American um, I mean looks pretty cool. Yeah, it does looks like a typical. Yeah, like one of those street chaser Yeah, yeah, and it's a 99 so that's Just barely yeah, yeah, that's legal. Wow nice. We got a legal Yeah, it's got a bunch of mods to it, but I mean, it's the typical price 30,000 I feel like it's the going rate for this is yeah, but like Canada's closer than California for some people So that's 30,000 Canadian this is 30,000 American for a thousand Canadian Dang So like I said typical price, but those aren't cheap huh? No Then they've been rising I feel like and just to take a how many of those were just So cheap water up and just Disposable at one point like an episode dude. There was those were literally just how the yeah So I recently sold the car behind us. It's just waiting for transport I sold it on marketplace and I personally was asking 26 I came down to 24 and sold it for a tiny bit less, but this guy has Not the same car by any means, but he has an s14 with the ssr20 The car has 82,000 miles. It's a Kookie conversion. I'm like pretty sure it's it's got to be for sure, but it doesn't tell That's part of the thing like he he doesn't really tell too much. So It doesn't have heater the AC and it has a small rust pot. Oh in the trunk And it is currently unregistered But it's only 15 grand That's cheap. Yeah, that's what I'm saying like so that's real cheap It's not registered And it's 15 grand. I'm like is there no paperwork on this right? What's the deal with this so But at 15 grand with an sr20 and like not a destroyed car like the cars in good condition It looks it looks you know, it's gotten after market hood and from bumper side skirts on that yeah It's all one color for 15 grand. I feel like this might be a steel depending on what the real scoop is with it Oh Awesome next up for me. I got a 1991 Nissan 180 sx with the Sylvia front-end got the salady action going. Oh, that's sick. Yeah Um It's asking 29,000 bucks. Uh listed about a month ago and I'm not even going to attempt to say where that's from oh Yeah Yeah, this is one of those French Canadians Don't know a word they're saying here, but if I had to guess It's got five log 30 millimeter overfenders in the front 15 the back um break headlights Bunch of other French stuff Damn You forgot about that one should have hit translate. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah But 29,000 bucks is roughly like 20,000 US, but that's like a decent deal. I mean, it's not it's not cheap But it's a little under the going right out imagine for a car that clean. Yeah, so I mean, yeah, some of these Canadian Dries might like pan out, you know like Yeah, it's it's one of those things once you start dealing with a whole different country that do things differently and You know, it's our neighbor to the north, but like they're still their own country I was thinking about her like they're still like this different country. Yeah, yeah You know, so got the wrong thing going on. Oh for sure. Yeah, and you don't necessarily understand it all Yeah, they're French. They're French literally some of them So I got just like my girl in the back over here. I got a 95 Nissan Skyline GTR V spec In the color that mine originally was the silver. It's my original car, right? That's pretty cool looking. Yeah Something about a stock 33 GTR. Yeah, I don't know dude. That's just like Cool. It's just cool. This stock car. Yeah, yeah, for sure from 95. Yeah, yeah, for sure And so it was listed six days ago in Henderson, Nevada and the owner claims that it's a virgin modification for GTR Very clean in and outside and under the car No corrosion imported last year. Cut a make room for an incoming R34 of course he does And he's asking 49,000 and I feel like that's not bad. I mean These guys are not listing what the actual like mileage is at these vehicles right in their description. So I don't know, but I would assume this clean and what not It can't be crazy, right? So you can find a 33s for good deals. Yeah, I'm in the GTR market like yeah 33 right you can do the 34 get a 33 they're free and say yeah like still same thing. Yeah Technically, I mean what underneath what Underneath like a lot of it. Yeah, yeah, yeah So I mean, yeah, I think this is a good deal. I got mine for quite a bit less, but it was also before all of all of this so I think that this is a good deal as long as it's not over 180,000 kilometers, which I highly doubt But yeah, go get that V-Spec baby go get it Cool, I got a 1990 Toyota Supra GTR Which these I mean, I don't know man. I either love or hate these MK3. Yeah, yeah I mean that one's kind of cool. Yeah, but other ones dude, they're just like they just look It's like those third gen Camaro's or whatever dude. It's just like They're just always beat and just Not it dude. This one's clean though. Um, they're asking 28,000 It's got 164,000 kilometers. It's got a one JZ GTE. So that's cool. It's freshly rebuilt. So that thing rips It's got a bunch of supporting mods and So it's a little ripper. It's just maybe not most not the most desirable car right right 100% I mean it looks super cool like If you're into these this is probably the one Yeah, that yeah, I like the black wheels with the blue paint. Yeah, if you're not on YouTube check it out. It's it's cool So we're we're gonna wrap this one up. We got one more here. This is the last one last one. Are you ready? Let's go In castle rock Colorado, which if you're not familiar with Colorado It's right in between Denver and Colorado Springs and that somebody I don't know who it is But they have a 93 Honda prelude SI coupe My right hand drive obviously Um, and it's got that H 22 hammer. Yeah, so um, you know, these are these are cool cars. I always thought the pre-lose were like pretty sweet um, and This one seems to be really clean It does have a hundred and ninety eight thousand kilometers, so it is on the higher mileage side But it is a Honda and if the body's clean just maintain the motor you'll probably be good So he did list it five days ago. He seems to be in somewhat of a hurry because he's already dropped the price once He's down to ten thousand right now I'm assuming he probably take eighty five hundred if he a cash maybe nine whatever Um But yeah, I mean he's out there in Colorado with the black prelude um So yeah guys, I mean if there is any of these that you're interested in definitely presume we try to give you as much info as possible So that you can go ahead and make a decent decision or at least go check out the ad Um, but for episode 81 the June marketplace sweep I'm bobby.
