THE SEAFARER & DECARBONISATION
A report has just been published about the impact of decarbonisation upon the seafarer.
We talk to Chirag Bahri from ISWAN and Ian Grainger from The Shipowners Club (P&I insurance) about the results and what they mean for the seafarer and the maritime industry moving forward.
The majority of seafarers support the move to decarbonisation but this new research with 400 seafarers worldwide is uncovering significant impact upon their work load as well as increased levels of anxiety about a variety of risks for the seafarers when implementing the new fuel technology on board ships and managing the associated regulatory regimes.
