Alex Gil

In this episode featuring Vicki Ash Hunter, we delved into her captivating book titled "Running and Returning: Seeking Balance in an Imperfect World."

Vicki, a National Class Athlete still competing at the age of 63, brings a wealth of experience to the table. Having qualified for the marathon Olympic Trials in 1988, she also serves as a trusted running coach and instructs Foundation Training in Boulder, CO. She retired as teacher in Political  Science at Colorado University in 2016.

Vicki's resilience shines through a life-threatening car accident she endured while pregnant with her first child, Jade, 26 years ago. Her miraculous  recovery stands as a testament to her strength.

Recently, she conquered the New York Marathon in 2023 and earned qualification for the World Championships in Sydney, Australia later this year.

Vicki and I delved deep into the topics of:

  • Addiction and how  we are all addicts
  • Generational trauma
  • Balancing our passion
  • Marriage and motherhood
  • Her relationship with Spirit

And much more. It is a personal and vulnerable conversation.
