I pray that the roots of setbacks, storms, satanic attacks, and even self-sabotage erode, crumble, and wither away, to be replaced by the incorruptible strength, peace, and joy that only heaven can give that will neither change nor fade.

Speaker 1:

Surprise constant listeners. I thought I'd share what's been on my heart this morning, early this morning. But before we dive into the heart of the matter, I'd like to share a few snippets of information about what's going on in the horizon for One Degree to Victory the horizon for One Degree to Victory. We have some exciting plans lined up for this weekend and the weeks forthcoming that I believe will pique your interest and continue to inspire you on your personal journeys toward victory. So, without further ado, let's dive into what's coming up next on One Degree to Victory. We have some exciting updates for you today. A previous guest called me yesterday and asked if I'd be willing to interview him again. He expressed that he'd left some things unsaid during a Sunday morning service Father's Day to be exact and he wanted another chance to fill in those gaps. I think we can all relate to those moments when we reflect and realize I should have said this or I wish I could have shared that. So, in a rare opportunity to revisit and revise, I'm beyond thrilled to announce that we'll be having a second Selfie Sunday episode featuring Mr Clarence Cooks. We've all experienced those after moments, those instances where we ponder over conversations in which we could rewind and add something more, but life rarely gives us the chance to edit our spoken words, which makes our upcoming episode with Mr Cooks all the more unique and thrilling. So I want you to stay tuned for more information as that story continues to develop.

Speaker 1:

I remember when I was a teacher, I always made it a point to never turn a child away from my desk. My God, if I noticed a student struggling, I would lean in, invite them to sit with me and together we would uncover the solutions they were seeking, and, at the root, they almost always had nothing to do with classwork, but rather mindset, self-perception and potential. I have fond memories of my students spending their lunch breaks before school and after school just hanging out in my classroom, because they felt safe and supported. The door to my classroom was always open. I'm reminded of the students in Mr Johnson's class at Los Padrinos facility in Los Angeles all those years ago. One young man in particular stands out and, in response to a question I'd asked, he wrote I want to change, but I don't know how this resonates with me all these years later and perhaps with many of you. We all have moments where we want to change, to grow, to move through struggles and find solutions, but we just don't know how. It's a universal struggle and I want to sincerely apologize to you, constant listeners and most beautiful souls, for any doors that were closed. That should never have been. One degree to victory is your open door and I am here with you. We're here together on our journey toward victory. Well, it is June 19th 2023 and this is a bonus episode of Ways to Win.

Speaker 1:

Wednesday, here, on One Degree to Victory, I am your hostess with the mostest Nelida Hollis. It's time to lock in, load up and lean in. That means reduce your distractions. Gather your mental and emotional energy and direct that energy to today's topic grace to get it right Now, before we begin. I am not an expert. I do not have years of study. What I do have are the moments and experiences that have been profoundly impactful, and as I reflect on those moments, I discover God's grace Now. I don't know what you're going through, but I can begin to comprehend Because, whatever specific circumstances we may go through as individuals, we share universal experiences. We experience the joy of new life and the pain and sorrow of loss. Our hearts leap at the promise of hope and break in despair. We are defiant in the face of injustice and celebrate our victories. It is the continuity of humanity that we have the faculties with which to experience creation, life and God's grace. Constant listeners, I'm going to share something that might seem more like a personal reminder than a universal message, but bear with me as we journey together in life through the ups and the downs.

Speaker 1:

There are two biblical stories that come to mind the promise God made to Hagar and Paul's request to remove his thorn. God's promise to Hagar was that her son would be a free man, but that freedom would come at a cost. It wouldn't be easy. Similarly, paul asked God three times to remove his thorn, right His hindrance, but God's response was my grace is sufficient. The thorn wasn't removed. Now let's apply this to our own lives.

Speaker 1:

We often strive for an abundant life, a life that reflects success and whatever that looks like for you and change. And in our pursuit we sometimes look to others who have achieved what we desire. We admire their ease, their grace and their quick victories. We know their stories because they've been generous enough to share. They've spoken of their struggles, their failures and, ultimately, their triumph. But often their victories seem to come quicker and more miraculously than ours.

Speaker 1:

But, beautiful souls, remember that his grace is sufficient. The grace that is on your life and mine is distinct. It's unique to our individual journeys and purpose. So when the world gets overwhelming and you find yourself striving to do more to keep up or get ahead, take a step back, rest in the grace that is over your life. This grace empowers you to do what you need to do and shields you on your journey toward your ultimate destination, wherever that might be. Of course, we all wish that life could be a little easier, that the path could be a little more clearer. But consider this, consider this If the circumstances were easier, if the work didn't demand so much from us, would the impact be as profound? Would the victory be as sweet with the victory? Follow us on our social media platforms Facebook, instagram and TikTok. Share it, because I like that and remember, beautiful soul, to love yourself a little more than you did yesterday. I love y'all. I love you.
