Because of the difficulties police agencies are having in hiring qualified applicants, some agencies (and States) are offering huge sign-up bonuses for applicants to join their agencies. What about the officers who have maintained and continued to work and serve? Are we inadvertently causing a morale crisis within the ranks of seasoned officers?
