Encountering the Great I Am
May 27, 2024 Season 3 Episode 28
Shelley Jeffcoat

With hearts wide open, we dive into the transformative power of scripture, urging ourselves to embrace change and not merely familiarity. "I am who you say I am," echoes as a reminder that aligning with the holiness of God is a path filled with His purity and our profound need for it, setting the stage for inspiration and new beginnings.

This episode weaves a tapestry of unity within the faith, drawing from Jesus' prayers for oneness and the imparted glory that sanctifies and strengthens us. As we ponder our place in the lineage of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the message crystallizes into a beacon of hope, assuring us that God is keenly aware of our struggles and has paved a road toward abundance and joy.

There is power in the names we carry and the identities we hold dear as children of the 'Great I Am.' Confidently standing firm against adversity, we invoke the many names of God as sources of strength and peace. And so, with a heart filled with gratitude for life's simplest joys, I extend an invitation to join us as we embrace the promise of God exceeding our expectations.

Speaker 3:

Amen. I'm going to go ahead and get started, as it says, where one or two are gathered, and since that's the way he rolls, I thank you, lord, that one and two are gathered and we thank you for the presence, lord, god, of your Holy Spirit that you're going to move through this prayer this morning, that you're going to bless us. You are already here, and so we thank you, holy Spirit, that you will just quiet our hearts so we can hear you clearly this morning, that you'll have a mighty turnaround and for those who are listening to this, watching this later, that they'll be touched in just a mighty way, lord God, that you're going to move through their hearts, lord God, so they will come to hear, be drawn closer to you and understand what it is that you say concerning their lives. We thank you for this another marvelous Monday. We thank you for giving us your grace and drawing us here, lord. We thank you for those who could come. We thank you for those who can't. We thank you for blessing us, lord, god, with this platform. We thank you, lord, for your word that will go out.

Speaker 3:

We ask that you'll continue to watch over us as we go through this week, as we kick off this amazing Monday. We thank you for the prayers, lord God. We thank you for answering our prayers, we thank you for the help that you have sent. We thank you for the yes and we thank you for the no, because we know that even when you say no, it is because you have greater things in place for us, and we want, more than anything, a relationship with you. Lord Jesus, we want to see you, we want to encounter you, we want to hear you more, we want to be in tune to you. Lord Jesus, holy Spirit, we don't want to miss anything, anything that you have for us, any teaching, any correction, anything. We want to experience the glory of God in our lives.

Speaker 3:

And so we thank you, lord, for the word that will go out this morning about who you are, abba, drawing us back to you and grounding us, lord God, reminding us that you are the great I am and that you are the I am in every situation. May we be blessed and overflow just to hear your word this morning. So, lord, I thank you for this opportunity, lord God, to just release your word to anyone who is willing to hear it. I thank you, lord, amen. Good morning, makisha. I'm going to go ahead and share my screen. Let's see, make sure I can share my screen. Let's try that again make sure I can share my screen. Let's try it again and.

Speaker 3:

I'm gonna bring up amen. I'm gonna bring up the Monday Makisha, can you see it?

Speaker 4:

yes, ma'am all right.

Speaker 3:

So this next couple of days, what we are is going to be a little bit different. We're going to be leaning into for the next couple of days. I am who you say I am, and this is really just what the Lord was showing me about drawing us back to the holiness of God. We have. What does he say? We have become very familiar and less holy all at the same time. It's like a lot of us have a lot more knowledge and yet we become even less holy in our ways. We've, we're, we're, we're reading the Bible more. We're reading the Bible as we're reading the scriptures, and yet we haven't encountered him and we haven't purified or allowed him to purify us.

Speaker 3:

So this is, uh, this is just a um, uh, a conversation, a way for him to reach us, to remind us and to show us who he is. And, lord, I thank you that you want to even purify. I thank you that you even want to talk to us, lord, I thank you that you're even speaking to your very disobedient children. We include in, lord, that you're always seeking to call us back to you, no matter how far we have run, but so many are standing in need of healing and help, lord God, and yet you are the great I am. So I thank you for reminding us that you are the source of everything. The word says give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His love endures forever. So we're just going to give a minute of this. Thank you, lord. We thank you, lord, for this message today.

Speaker 3:

We thank you, Lord, for this message today. We thank you for allowing us to see Monday we thank you for drawing us to the end of another month. You didn't have to do that, you didn't have to bless us to wake up this morning, and yet you did. We thank you for whoever is going to be listening. Lord, God, that they will be blessed, their families blessed. We thank you for your mercy, your goodness and your grace.

Speaker 3:

You are such a good father. We thank you for what you are doing in our families. We thank you for healing our families and touching our children and our spouses. We thank you for touching our siblings. Lord, god, we thank you for the jobs you've given us, lord, god. We thank you for cars, we thank you for the home and the food on our table. We thank you for all of the basic needs, but, oh, more than anything, we thank you for who you are, oh, father.

Speaker 3:

We thank you that you are the great provider we thank you for your glory. We thank you for how amazing you are to us, that, no matter how disobedient, we come to you with contrite, heartbroken spirits and you forgive us. We thank you for allowing us, lord God, to even come before your holy presence, because we do not deserve this platform with you. We thank you for allowing us, lord God, to even come before your holy presence because we do not deserve this platform with you.

Speaker 3:

We do not deserve it at all. It is only because of the sacrifice of the blood of Jesus. We thank you, Jesus, for paying our sin debt in full. I thank you, Lord, for taking the lashes from me. I thank you for taking the whippings from me. I thank you for taking on that pain from me. Oh Lord, I thank you for suffering for me because you have set us free, and we thank you, lord, that what your word said is oh, those who are free are free Indeed there is no condemnation.

Speaker 3:

Can we thank you this morning that there is no condemnation in Christ. We thank you that nothing will separate us from your love. We thank you, Lord Jesus, for what you have already done. You are amazing. We thank you for this blessed day that there are blessings and encounters and miracles. We thank you that you're still in the business of miracles. We thank you, Lord, God, because you are amazing. We thank you.

Speaker 4:

Jesus.

Speaker 3:

Thank you Jesus, thank you Lord, thank you Lord. We have come this far because of you. I thank you, lord, for every person under the sound of my voice, Lord, God, who will be touched by you in such a special way. It's even in the little things, the way that you move the pieces around on the chessboard.

Speaker 4:

Lord God the way.

Speaker 3:

We can't even see you moving, but we know you are. We thank you, Lord God, that you've pushed us out of the way we can't even see you moving, but we know you are.

Speaker 4:

We thank you, lord, god, that you've pushed us out of the way of danger that you woke us up this morning that you shut down every attack the enemy had in our sleep.

Speaker 3:

We thank you, Lord God, that you're even bringing it back to mind, Lord God, those who have hungered for you, that you're drawing them back to you. Oh Lord, I pray, Lord, for everything that you have done. We thank you. We thank you, we give you all the thanks and praise. Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen. So now we just confess, almighty God. We acknowledge and confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word and deed. We have not loved you with all our heart, soul, mind and strength. We have not loved our neighbor as ourselves.

Speaker 4:

Deepen within us our sorrow for the wrong we have done and the good we have left undone, Lord you are full of compassion and gracious, slow to anger and plenteous in mercy. There is always forgiveness with you, restore to us the joy of your salvation.

Speaker 3:

Bind up that which is broken and give light to our mind strength to our will and rest to our soul.

Speaker 4:

Speak to each of us and let your word abide with us until it has wrought in us your holy will.

Speaker 3:

Father I thank you, Father. Now I ask that you will purify my tongue. Let it be on fire and speak only the words that you would have me say Father, let me be the rod of Moses, father, let me be your oracle this morning, let your glory fall upon me, demonstrate the power, holy Spirit that you have. This is your meeting, this is your prayer, this is your platform. It is your words that go forth, father. Let it only be you, Father. I will fall back and let you go forward, lord.

Speaker 3:

This is about you, Lord Jesus.

Speaker 3:

So now I ask that you will purify my tongue, lord, god, father, open our eyes to see you in the spirit. Open our ears to hear from you clearly, lord, those who need to hear it are here, lord, those we speak to are here, father. God, those who will listen to it later, those who have been chosen to hear this message, will hear it. It is not about the numbers. So I thank you, lord, for even reminding us to stay focused on the word. He said amen. Thank you, lord, for what you're about to do. Before we go into scripture, I'm going to read this prayer from John 17. It's John 17, verse 10, and I'm going to move around and for those of y'all who listen to watch this later, just go in John 17. This is the ESV version and I know I'm supposed to release this. So, father, as I'm releasing this, I thank you for what this is. This is the priestly prayer of Jesus. This is the prayer that he prayed on our behalf. So, as I release this now, lord, I ask that you will bring it back to life and give us the mystery of what this means for us. Thank you, lord.

Speaker 3:

John 17, 10,. It says all mine are yours and yours are mine, and I am glorified in them and I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world and I'm coming to you, holy Father. Keep them in your name, which you have given me, that they may be one even as we are one. While I was with them, I kept them in your name, which you have given me. I have guarded them and not one of them have been lost, except the son of destruction, that the scripture might be fulfilled. But now I am coming to you and these things I speak in the world that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves. I have given them your word and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them in your truth. Your word is truth. As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. That's us y'all. And for their sake I consecrate myself that they may also. They also may be sanctified in truth, father. Sanctify us in truth.

Speaker 3:

The word says I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word. It is through our word, thank you, lord, that they may all be one, just as you, father, are in me and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me the glory that you have given me I have given to them. That they may be one even as we are, father. We thank you for the glory that you have given to us. The word says I in them and you in me that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and love them, even as you love me, father. It says I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am. That you've given me because you love me before the foundation of the world.

Speaker 3:

It says in verse 26,.

Speaker 3:

I made known to them your name and I will continue to make it known that the love with which you have loved me may be in them and I in them.

Speaker 3:

It's so important. Amen. Thank you, jesus, for praying on our behalf. I thank you, lord, that what you have released then is true now. I thank you that that glory that you've given to us is still with us. Father, sanctify us in your word and in your truth this morning, to bring us back to who the Father say we are, that we are truly in you as you're in us. Father, let there be a refreshing oil on every person under the sound of my voice this morning, to remind them that we are sanctified in truth. When the word says, in verse 26, that I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, that those who you've assigned to us, who will believe through your holy word, lord, god, father, I ask that you'll turn up that flame, lord God, in us. Turn up that flame, holy Spirit in us, so that we can draw through even the power of the Holy Spirit, men and women, back to you.

Speaker 3:

So we believe what you have said for us, the way you interceded, lord God, the way you prayed for us, jesus. We thank you that you interceded, lord God, the way you prayed for us, jesus, we thank you that you interceded on our behalf. And in the same way that you went to our great father, god of all creation, we now approach his holy throne. It is only because of what you did in this, thank you, jesus. It's only because of what you did in this priestly prayer that we can now go before his throne, is now that we can approach Abba, father. It is because of what you have set in place. And thank you, lord, for drawing me back to the scripture this morning to tie up.

Speaker 3:

He said a loose end. So now we can go into scripture in Exodus 3, 7 through 15. And it says in my version it says I am who, 15. And it says in my version it says I am who I am. And it says then the Lord said I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters. I know their sufferings and I have come down to deliver them out of the hands of the Egyptians, to bring them out of that land to a good and broad land. Oh, thank you, lord, for bringing us out of this destruction, a land flowing with milk and honey to the place of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Heretites and the Jebusites. You got to understand what milk and honey means. Milk is fertility and abundance. Honey is sweetness and and joy.

Speaker 3:

Oh, thank you, jesus, for bringing us into a place of abundance and sweetness and goodness and joy. Verse nine says and now, behold, the cry of the people of israel has come to me, that's us, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppressor. He knows what you're going through, he knows what they're doing to you come, I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt. But, moses, I thank you, lord. Moses said to God, who am I? That I should go to Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel out of Egypt.

Speaker 3:

And he said I will be with you and this shall be a sign for you that I have sent you. Father.

Speaker 3:

I pray that every person under the sound of my voice, who you are sending into these incredible places and spaces that you remind them. Now, it is you that sends us. It says when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve the God on this mountain. Father, let this be the mountain this morning that we come to serve you, lord, amen. Moses says to God if I come to the people of Israel and say to them the God of your fathers has sent me to you and they ask me what is his name, what shall I say to them? God said to Moses I am who I am.

Speaker 3:

I am who I am. I am who I am. Thank you, lord, I am who I am. And he said say this to the people of Israel I am has sent me to you. God also said to Moses say this to the people of Israel the Lord, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob has sent me to you and I'm telling you there is somebody listening on this replay that you don't know who your parents are.

Speaker 3:

You don't know who your father worship. You don't have to worry about that, that's not going to stop you. All you have to know is this the Lord, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob. You don't have to worry about whether your mama went to church. You don't have to see. There's a whole storm brewing right. There's winds picking up outside my window.

Speaker 3:

Thank you, jesus. You don't have to worry about what your parents did, your grandparents did. You don't have to worry about who they worship. Yeah, let the winds blow, lord God. Thank you, father. You don't have to worry about that. All you've got to know is the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob has sent me to you. Amen. He sent you. This is my name forever, and thus I am to be remembered throughout all generations. I thank you, lord, that your name, I am who I am, and so we're going to go into prayer this morning and we're only, we're only, we're only praying on I am, we're only leaning into him this morning.

Speaker 3:

Thank you, lord, for the winds that are blowing right now from the east and the west, and the north and the south. Let your holy ones blow, lord God. Let them blow, lord God, and cause disruption that we need. Father, we have been distracted by who you are and whose we are. We have been falling into the sin of the world. We have been corrupted. We have moved away from your holiness. Father. Now I ask that you sanctify us in the same way that your son, jesus Christ, prayed on our behalf in John 17, where he called us unto himself, where he said that we have the same glory. Oh Lord, I ask that you will fire that up right now and shut the ears of all those who are not meant to hear this. Lord, I pray that you will release this word for your people.

Speaker 3:

Lord God, exodus 3, 7,. It says then the Lord said I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their cry because of their taskmaster. It says I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their cry because of their taskmaster. He says I know their suffering, so just pray this out, lord, that he has received that. I thank you, lord, that you have seen the affliction. I thank you, lord, that you've seen our affliction. Lord, god, I thank you that you've heard our cry. It's even because of our taskmasters what the enemy has done. What a fool you are. What a fool you are, demon. What a fool you are, satan. What a liar you are. Don't you know that the great I am knows what you're doing? He knows our suffering, don't you know?

Speaker 3:

he will deliver us out of this what a fool you are to curse these people. Don't you know who we are? We are the sons and daughters of the great I am. He has surely seen the affliction of his people. Thank you, Jesus, that you've heard our cry. You've heard it because of what our enemy has done, we are set apart. We are blessed. He knows our sufferings. What a fool this world is to think that we are one of them.

Speaker 4:

Oh, y'all gonna be mad this morning.

Speaker 3:

We are not your people, we are not the same we have been sanctified and purified.

Speaker 4:

We have been set apart by the glory of God.

Speaker 3:

Thank you, Holy Spirit. We've got to remind ourselves whose we are, where we come from. We have been marked, we have been set apart. He sees your affliction. Stop being confused.

Speaker 4:

He has heard your cry, he knows what's going on.

Speaker 3:

He knows you're suffering. It doesn't mean that he doesn't love you.

Speaker 4:

It doesn't mean that he doesn't love you. He is still the great.

Speaker 3:

I am.

Speaker 4:

You've got to remember you are aligned with heaven. It's in you.

Speaker 3:

Father. Thank you, jesus.

Speaker 4:

Father, I thank you for your reminder that you have seen and you have heard everything that is happening.

Speaker 3:

And just because he's not coming on your timeline doesn't mean he didn't strike those things down. You've got to be in the spirit to see what's happening, Because if you stay in the world you're going to miss it. Oh, I thank you, Jesus. I thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord Exodus 3, 13 through 14. Then Moses said to God until I come to the people of Israel and say to them that means you got to open your mouth.

Speaker 3:

The God, of Israel has said this to you Yo when you go into the word and they say who do you think you?

Speaker 4:

are.

Speaker 3:

You come in his name. What is his name? What shall I say? You see, when he says you to speak to people when he says you to pray for people and they say how dare you? I know, your past. I know your mistakes, I know what you did. Oh, I pray that you will say. Oh, the god of moses sent me. Oh, I thank you, jesus.

Speaker 2:

I pray that you will say the god of m Moses sent me. Oh, I thank you, Jesus.

Speaker 3:

I pray that you will say the God of Moses sent me. I pray that you will say he who sent me is the great, I am. He is the great I am. And he said leave this to the people I am has sent me to you.

Speaker 2:

You see, you got to understand who sent you.

Speaker 3:

He has many names. I thank you, jesus, say you're the, I am You're the. I am in every situation, that's why you? Can't just say I am and add any word behind it. You've got to know when you say I am because you carry his glory, you're also the solution, you're also the blessing, oh, you're also the breakthrough in your family. You've got to understand. I thank you, jesus. When they say what is your name. So, father, I pray for every person under the sound of my voice.

Speaker 3:

They will walk in confidence. They will know. Lord, God, it is you. You are the great.

Speaker 4:

I am, it is you.

Speaker 3:

You are the great I am so that you know, so that you know, this is what he reminded me of just this morning, before I came in. I thank you, jesus. For many years I had this poster in my office and it just had the names of God.

Speaker 2:

He said Shelly go with the names and read them out.

Speaker 3:

I told you it's going to be different. He says the names of God, this is from the Old Testament and I want you to know this, because you're confusing who. I am is.

Speaker 4:

I am.

Speaker 3:

El Shaddai, the Lord, god Almighty, I am El Elyon, the Most High God. I am Adonai, lord Master. I am Yahweh Lord Jehovah.

The Lord is peace. I am Jehovah Shalom, the Lord is peace. I am Jehovah Saba, the Lord of hosts. You've got to know his name. Oh, I pray, god, that, as I release your name, that every demon runs and flees, every sin that was meant for your children is destroyed, because of the great I am, because of who you are. You are the I am in my life. You are the provider. Oh, I thank you, jesus, I thank you, lord. God, it is your name that we yield to, it is you that we bow to, it is you that we worship. Oh, great, thank you, lord. Thank you for reminding us we are sanctified in his sight. Oh, I thank you for the blood that purifies us.

Speaker 2:

So we have access to his name and when they ask you what his name, is.

Speaker 3:

I am who I am, he is your provider.

Speaker 2:

He is your people oh. I thank you, I thank you.

Speaker 3:

Oh Father, I thank you for reminding us of your great power. We are nothing but dust, and yet you have set us apart. We thank you, lord God, for reminding us this morning that you are the I Am. Thank you, jesus. In Exodus 3.15, god said to Moses say this to the people of Israel the Lord, god of your father the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.

Speaker 3:

This is my name forever, and thus I am to be remembered throughout all generations. Oh, I thank you, jesus, for reminding us that we're connected back to the story we are connected back into the story that you've adopted us into your kingdom.

Speaker 4:

Lord when we gave our lives over to you.

Speaker 3:

You brought us into this family.

Speaker 2:

You brought us into the kingdom.

Speaker 3:

So, lord, we are aligning ourselves with those who accepted Christ, but they didn't really come into the kingdom. Thank you, jesus. Lord, we are connecting back into your kingdom, we are tapping back in, we are a part of this story. Oh, thank you, jesus, that you have not forgotten us. It says forever and ever. Forever and ever, lord, we thank you that this is your name forever. This is your name forever.

Speaker 3:

We are a part of your kingdom that you have not forgotten us, no matter what it is you're going through his love, he has seen you. He has heard your cry, oh my God. I thank you, jesus, for reminding us that you have heard our cry, don't you know? You were built for this world. It's not meant to be perfect on this side, oh God, it's not meant to be perfect on this side. You were built for another kingdom. Thank you, Jesus.

Speaker 4:

Thank you, Jesus.

Speaker 3:

Speaker 4:

Speaker 3:

Thank you Jesus. Thank you Jesus. Thank you, Jesus. This is temporary.

Speaker 4:

I have done what you said I should do. Now, let your people hear, let them hear. Let them hear I'm going to tell you something. This is literally one of those confirmation things that happened on Friday. And it happened a double confirmation on Friday and he said release this word. And then y'all need to listen because you're not listening, you're not listening.

Speaker 3:

And then he sent Karen I can't see who was in the room and she literally confirmed this thing. I had to bring her to my office and say you got to see this, sis, because he literally gave me this that I have to give to you, that you've got to listen. So we're gonna spend a couple minutes just listen in quiet. Let him just listen, holy spirit, just speak to their hearts. We want to hear from you.

Speaker 4:

Thank, you, jesus thank you, lord, thank you.

Speaker 3:

I've got to find this song that you should just came up thank you lord, while you're in quiet mode, I'm going to stop sharing. I gotta find this song you literally just dropped in my heart, so I gotta find it.

Speaker 4:

Thank you, Lord. I don't know if this is it.

Speaker 3:

I guess where it decides. That was that there's a song Speak, speak, holy Spirit. I can't get out of my head and I can't find it. I'll look for it afterwards.

Speaker 4:

Speak. Have a little doubt. Stay right there with me Until we meet again yeah, that's it. And in its presence we lift our hands in praise.

Speaker 3:

That's it. That's it. Thank you, lord. Thank you for bringing that back. So, whatever it is, we needed to hear that. Lord, we thank you for that. We thank you, lord. All right, I'm gonna. I'm gonna keep going, thank you, lord. Thank you, lord. Thank you, lord. All right, now we can move into declaration. Now we can keep moving. So we'll just go ahead and declare.

Speaker 3:

I declare this day that no weapon formed against me can prosper because I am the righteousness of God. Favor surrounds me as a shield. Divine protection surrounds me as a shield. I am therefore in the right place at the right time. I cannot be defeated or destroyed. In fact, every tongue that accuses me, every tongue that attacks me, I condemn with my words. This is my heritage, this is my right as a child of God, made in his image, made with his dominion and authority living in me, coming forth out of my spirit. Through my words, I declare today that Satan has no power over my life, that every weapon he has has been defeated, that fear is cast out, that love makes my faith work and therefore, I cannot fail. God's word cannot fail. That's what I'm made of his word, made in his image, after his likeness, with the power of the holy spirit and authority of his words.

Speaker 3:

Therefore, by the blood of jesus, I dwell in the secret of the most high.

Speaker 4:

I I abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I say of the Lord, you are my refuge and my fortress.

Speaker 3:

My God. In you I will trust, Amen, amen. Just take a couple of minutes just to thank God and praise him for this morning. We thank you for our obedience in shifting. Speaker 3:

I praise you for shutting the mouth of our enemies.

Speaker 4:

Speaker 3:

Speaker 4:

God for holding off the rain, holding off the rain amen, amen, amen.

Speaker 3:

All right, I'm gonna, I'm gonna stop sharing now, and then we'll listen to the song when Jen finds it for us, all right.

Speaker 4:
