In this very interesting interview with David Leventhal, Director of Dance for Parkinson's, David shares his valuable expertise on how modern research on dance, has proven, slows down neurodegenerative diseases, such as dementia and other chronic disease that   David pioneered a dance-based elective course that is part of the Narrative Medicine Curriculum at Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons.   

David 
is a founding teacher and Program Director for Dance for Parkinson's Disease, a program of Mark Morris Dance Group, a model now used in different part of the world, in 25 countries.  David is a dancer himself, who received the Alan Bonander Humanitarian award from the Parkinson's Unity Walk, the Martha Hill Mid-Career Artist Award, the International Association for Dance Medicine and Science (IADMS), Pioneer Dance Educator Award and the 2016 World Parkinson's Coalition (WPC) Award for his distinguished contribution to the Parkinson's Community. He is also co-author of numerous peer reviewed studies and has been featured in the award-winning 2014 documentary, Capturing Grace directed by Dave Iverson.
