Embarking on a new path often requires leaving the safety of the familiar shore. That's exactly what I, Lorayne Michaels, did when I traded my scrubs and stethoscope for the entrepreneurial roller coaster. Our latest heart-to-heart is an intimate exploration of what it means to step into your true passion and purpose. I share the emotional highs and lows of my journey from medicine to mastery over my destiny, in the hope of lighting a spark within you. If you've ever wondered what life could be like beyond the comfortable routine, let this be your invitation to explore the possibilities.

Life's grandeur isn't just in the milestones we achieve but in the fulfillment we find along the way. In the spirit of that discovery, I delve into the essence of our divine purpose, the belief that each of us is here with intention and a unique reason that transcends mere existence. I'm excited to share tools and practices, including a special journaling resource, to guide you toward a life bursting with joy, peace, and abundance. It's a conversation steeped in love and affirmation, reminding us all that we are no accident, but rather, exquisitely crafted for a remarkable journey. So, whether you're a dreamer looking to take the leap or simply seeking a richer, more meaningful life, join us in embracing your divine calling.

Speaker 1:

If you're feeling stuck in life, unsure where to go or what to do, welcome. If you're exactly where you want to be great, you're welcome here too. If you have faced any kind of hardship or setback, you have found a safe place here. In other words, no matter who you are or what you've been through or what you're going through, this is the space for you. On the Bite Size podcast, we'll discuss life, business and faith. There's something for everyone. So grab a cup of coffee and something to take notes with, because there will definitely be things you won't want to forget. Definitely be things you won't want to forget. Welcome back to another episode of the Bite Size Podcast. I'm your host, lorraine Michaels, and today is on a whim.

Speaker 1:

Today, this episode is just me being candid. I have no agenda, I have no plan, I have no workshop teaching. This isn't about my coaching program or speaking. I mean, I guess the underlining of it is or can be. So this candid conversation today is about the work, the work that you have to do for yourself, and this is coming from a place of I've just been reflecting a lot on my life, where I'm at I'm going to be 40 this year and what's been going on and how I have pursued dreams, goals, how I've pursued my business in coaching and speaking and podcasting and all the things, and in personal development in this whole realm and what I'm seeing today in society.

Speaker 1:

And so I want to start with a question, and the question is are you living the life you thought you'd be living? Are you living authentically? Are you living a life that you are happy with, or are you just getting by? Are you just grinding it out, getting up, going to work, doing what you have to do and it's not what you want to do? You're doing it because you have to do it, and I ask that not to make you feel bad. I ask it to put it into perspective and to encourage you to one find the thing that gives you the energy and that passion and figure out what it is that lights you up and gives you that excitement and energy and that zeal for the day.

Speaker 1:

And the reason why is because in every job I have ever worked, there has been people there that are miserable. And, granted, maybe they are just miserable people altogether, but some of them are. They just hate their job. And I have been in a place where I hated my job also, but I couldn't quit. Let me rewind that. I thought I couldn't quit, I thought I was stuck, I was operating from a limited mindset and I was operating in a mindset of lack and I thought that I had to be there because I had bills to pay and this was paying the bills. And it wasn't until that I really started. One, figuring out what I like and what gives me that drive and the passion and what lights me up and what excites me and what I'm good at, and all those things. And two, it wasn't until I realized that life is short and God created each and every one of us with a unique gift passion and purpose and we are supposed to live in that. And everything operates smoothly and it works when you figure that out.

Speaker 1:

Hey, it's Lorraine. As you know, it's my joy and passion to teach and encourage others through this podcast, but my heart is actually at live events. Currently I'm available for booking, so if you're organizing a live event, I'd love to share my story. Your audience will walk away with tangible tools on how to overcome limiting beliefs, break down obstacles and discover their gifts, talents and abilities in order to live a life that God created them to live. It's not the size of the audience that's important. It's the connection and impact that I will bring. For more information, email me at lorraine, at theboldbeginningscom, and also, more and more lately, I am realizing just how precious life is and just how short life is.

Speaker 1:

And why would you want to live a life stuck and miserable and unhappy and working a job that you hate and just living a life of lack? So here are my tools for you, because I don't want you to be living in lack. I don't want you to be working a job, thinking I have to and this is as good as it's going to get, and it is what it is. First of all, I would like to encourage you to throw that phrase out the window. It is not. Don't say that anymore. It is what it is, because then you're accepting it and you always have a choice. You always, always, always, have a choice. You can make a change. Don't give that power to something else or someone else, because you have the power to make a change.

Speaker 1:

And part of this is, you know, I was getting discouraged about where I was at in my business and it's not. I'm not where I wanna be in my business right now. I'm gonna be completely transparent with you. I am not where I wanna be in my business right now. Of course I wanna be making more. Of course I wanna be doing more, traveling more, speaking more. Of course I don't wanna be working at a hospital again. I would love to be doing my business full-time.

Speaker 1:

But here's the thing, and I had to remind myself of that People do not have the luxury of working a full-time job and then discovering their purpose, their gift, their gifting and their passion. People don't have the discovery of doing that and just jumping straight from their job that's making them money, their W-2 job into the business and make money in the business. That is unrealistic. But that is what I did, and in complete transparency. I had the luxury of doing that, of just jumping in and trying to figure it out and getting it going. Nobody does that. There is no business ever in the history that started from day one and started making money. It's just unrealistic.

Speaker 1:

And so the start of my business was a fantasy, and it worked for a little bit until it didn't work. And so I had to have that reality check of going back to work, not because the business failed, but because I still had growing to do. I still have learning to do. I'm still in the startup phase, if you will, of my business. It's not that it failed, it's still getting going and it's still gaining momentum. There's nothing wrong with it, and I am so appreciative of that journey, of that path of it, of the beginning stages of my business.

Speaker 1:

It taught me a lot, and so it's easy to get down on yourself and think that you're a failure, but it's not a failure. And so, friend, I want to encourage you to not give up on your dreams, because I'm living proof of it, that I found it, I figured it out and I started to do it. I'm still doing it, but I kind of did it backwards, and that's okay. If you did that too, don't give up. And so if you are working a job that you hate and there is something that you realize that you love to do and you want to do and want to make a business out of it and you want to go full time in it, friend, you can do it. It can happen. It doesn't matter what stage you're at, it doesn't matter what age you're at. You can do it.

Speaker 1:

And so the tools that I want to give you today are, first things. First is if you are in a position, a job, a stage of life that you are just completely miserable at and you are miserable in and you are unhappy and you want something different, you want a change. Take some time to journal it out, to ask yourself these questions what brings me joy? What do I love doing? What can I spend hours doing? And I wouldn't get tired of it. And if money and time were not an issue or an option, what would I do? And answer those questions. And if it's not clear, you will see a theme of what, those, what it is right. And then I want you to then ask yourself what can I do to start doing that? How can I start doing whatever that is? So let's say the what do I love to do, let's say that is painting, say that is painting. And the answer to the questions, those questions that I ask what do I love doing? What can I spend hours doing and not get tired of?

Speaker 1:

Let's say, it's painting, right, but you're working a W-2 job, and so I want you to figure out when in the day can you spend time, your free time, painting, sketching, drawing, whatever it is doing, those things, that thing that brings you joy, and incorporate that more and more. And then what, like? Can you post those paintings, pictures? Can you sell them? Can you bring them to a fair? Can you create something? And Can you bring them to a fair? Can you create something and start to monetize it, start to make money on it or donate it?

Speaker 1:

Maybe you know what I'm saying Like, get your creative, your creative space going, get that creative side going. And and if you need help with that, please reach out. I would love to walk you through these things so that you can get these ideas from your head out onto paper and then mapping it out. I have that free PDF that I created for goals and it walks you through how to do it, what to do, and we create the steps so that you can do it.

Speaker 1:

But what I'm trying to encourage you to do is, if you are in a place that you are unhappy, unfulfilled, and you are in a job that you don't want to be at, creating that path for you to find happiness. And maybe it's not even that you quit your job and start doing said thing that brings you joy, but maybe it's finding and creating the space so that you can do the things that you enjoy, so that the job doesn't seem so miserable, job doesn't seem so miserable. Maybe it's finding those things that bring you joy and figuring out how that can even be incorporated into your job. Maybe your role at your job looks a little different if you incorporate what brings you joy into your role. If you can't quit your job, so if you can tell it's getting creative with what brings you joy and how to incorporate that into your life. Whether that's incorporating it into your job, whether it's creating a job from it, whether it's creating income from that or somehow bringing that into your life so that it brings you that joy, that energy, that peace, and your life looks different.

Speaker 1:

Because your life matters, your happiness matters and you were created for a purpose. You were created on purpose for a purpose and you were created for a purpose. You were created on purpose for a purpose and I want to help you discover that there's no mistake in you. God created you for a reason, and so that's. What I got today is how to bring a little joy into your life, how to figure that out. So message me. If you want that freebie, I can email it to you. I have a bunch of other freebies that can help you along this journey of finding peace in abundance and finding purpose. So I hope you guys have a fantastic day.

Speaker 1:

Also, if you didn't know, I created another journal. It is just a simple journal with two prompts, the same two prompts every day. It's just to help you get into the habit of journaling and being grateful, because when you're in a state of gratitude, miracles happen and you see things differently, and it just opens up a world to abundance. So, friends, I hope this little shorty episode has helped you. Make sure you take some notes, write down those questions that I gave you to help you figure out what it is that lights you up, about what it is that lights you up, and if you have any ideas or things that you would like to hear me talk about on the Bite Size Podcast, reach out, shoot me an email, dm me on Instagram.
