In this episode, we continue discussing the shakings of God. As we mentioned in the last episode, Shake Us, O Lord, The Francis Scott Key Bridge collapsed on March 26th, reshaping the Baltimore skyline and the daily lives of its residents. The bridge, stretching 1.6 miles and named after the author of America’s national anthem, was an iconic symbol for the area. But in a matter of seconds, it crumbled, leaving lives shattered and communities reeling in its wake. The suddenlies of God.

The collapse of the bridge serves as a wake-up call and a warning to those who have grown complacent in their faith because so many people are not ready for the suddenlies, and the Lord is displeased with this, and it is not a one-time occurrence. These events are only going to intensify and continue.

Yet, amidst the devastation, the Lord reminded us that those that abide in Him will walk in His refuge. As it says in Proverbs 3, “Then you will walk safely in your way, and your foot will not stumble. When you lie down, you will not be afraid; Yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet. Do not be afraid of sudden terror or of the ruin of the wicked when it comes, For the Lord will be your confidence And will keep your foot from being caught.”

The questions that Christians should be asking are: Am I ready for the suddenlies of God? Do I live out my daily life with the fear of the Lord in mind or more concerned with the weights of the world?
