In this episode, Barbara Kavanagh, CEO and Founder of the Arizona Myeloma Network (AZMN), shares stories about her upbringing, her volunteerism, and her role as a cancer caregiver to her husband, Jack Kavanagh, a multiple myeloma survivor. She talks about her life as a Jewish woman and social worker, her exposure to segregation and the civil rights movement, her experiences moving abroad and starting volunteer programs in other countries and with the Navajo, and her life's work as a consultant, author, and founder of a grassroots nonprofit cancer organization.
