Ready Set Reiki is a journey
From the curious beginner to the Season Master Teacher
All Energy workers of all systems and all levels.

Speaker 2:

This is Ready Set Reiki, a podcast about Reiki, the universal energy life force, from the curious beginner to the seasoned master teacher, welcoming all systems, all lineages and all levels. Reiki is a journey and not a destination, and on this Ready Set Reiki journey, we refer to ourselves as guides rather than hosts, as we too are traveling, supporting each other and learning on this Reiki journey as well. And with that said, I am your first guide, tracy Seawright, and I'm your second guide, millie Pampina. And today we have a wonderful guest, tanya Williams, also known as the Child Whisperer, empowerment Coach, intuitive Healer, as well as a Reiki Master Practitioner Specialized work with children of all ages to tap into their inner power and light so they can shine Shine bright in every aspect of their life. Over 20 years of experience working with children from ages 2 to 16 years of age in areas of behavioral modification, social skills and sensory play. She also is the owner of Ready Reiki, and Ready Reiki's message is you are safe, you are light, you are loved, you are born to be you.

Speaker 2:

Welcome to Ready Set Reiki. How are you guys doing? It's a pleasure to be here. Wonderful, wonderful. When I saw there was a beautiful series of synchronicities online and there I found your name and I'm like so excited. Ready Reiki, ready, set Reiki. There has to be a meetup here, absolutely right, we have to just combine worlds here. So wonderful. Thank you for joining us today out of your very busy schedule. So we're going to start off. I gave our listeners just a little taste of who you are, but tell us about yourself.

Speaker 3:

Well, my name is Taneya Williams and I am originally from New York. I have been working with. I'm 38,. I've been working with children all my life, like multiple lifetimes. This is something that I totally enjoy.

Speaker 3:

I actually started my Reiki journey when I moved to North Carolina about eight years ago, so it has been blossoming. Like you said, reiki is a journey. It actually came into my life in such a beautiful way and I'm super excited to share my gift, my light, with the world. Children, like I said, is my specialty and in this day and age, as you know, a lot of children are struggling and they need someone to guide them, so I am just super happy to be here and to be able to do that. I'm also a Reiki master, I'm also an intuitive guide. I help people with readings, with past life regression, things like that, and I'm also a plant medicine practitioner. I actually do Cambo as well. That is something that has been called to me and I have so many life changing sessions go and I'm super excited to bring that to the world as well.

Speaker 2:

Wonderful, beautiful. So our next question you mentioned a little bit about you know when you started this journey. Tell us, did you find Reiki, or did Reiki find you?

Speaker 3:

My belief is Reiki is always in us, just like all of our inherited gifts. But there is a synchronicity, like you said, that happens. So I moved to North Carolina about eight years ago to take care of my grandfather who was ill, and I met a young lady just getting some coffee at the 7-Eleven and I walked in and all I saw was light and I was like, hey, we should be friends. Come to find out. She ends up fast forward being my Reiki master and she didn't even tell me it was Reiki At first. She was just. Her energy was amazing and she kept saying there's something about you, I want to share something with you. And I'm like, okay, share with me. And she kept saying it's not the time yet. When the time is right, I'm going to tell you, and I'll never forget it.

Speaker 3:

It was about a month before my mom actually was very ill and I had gotten a job as an RBT, which is a registered behavioral tech, and she said it's time. I had a dream that it is time for me to introduce you to this Reiki. I got attuned to this Reiki. I got attuned and then, 30 days later, my mom actually passed. And when I tell you that Reiki saved my life. When I tell you that it saved my life, without Reiki, I don't think that I would be able to go through the many stages of grief as well as I did. It helped me to be able to tap into levels of me that I didn't think was even there. Also helped me connect with my mom and really be one with everything happens for us, not to us. So Reiki saved my life.

Speaker 2:

Beautiful. I'm so sorry for your loss, but what a gift that teacher gave you. Yes, you navigate that, both the experiences of Millie and I. You know we ended up getting that after we had grief come into our lives, but to have that before, how different it could have been on our journey. So how beautiful that is, what a blessing, wonderful, wonderful. So 20 years of experience in this field. What are some of the common misperceptions about the work that you do?

Speaker 3:

Well, as we all know, we're in the spiritual. I'm based from the church. You know Christian, so you know when we start talking about. You know laying hands and crystals and chakras. Sometimes people don't always receive it best. Information is always rejected before it's accepted. So it was more or less getting not forcing people, but allowing them to see the light so they would be able to enjoy and experience the beauty that Reiki can bring to you in all levels, but mainly with children. It's usually about explaining how these simple practices and the things we're taught in the modality can help not only the parent and the child. I think that was the biggest thing, just getting past. You know this isn't against whoever your higher power is. It's all wrapped up in one. There's a hundred ways to the mountaintop.

Speaker 2:

Right, and I love the way you're framing it like allowed and you know all those ways up to the mountaintop, because it is their own journey. It's their own journey, yes, right, right. So what is something that everybody in this profession should stop doing?

Speaker 3:

We should stop forcing. That's the number one. A lot of people and this is in all modalities of spirituality, whether it's religion or spiritual when we get it and it's so changing in our life and it's so transformable, we're like, no, stop what you're doing and jump on this bandwagon. No, allow yourself to be the example. Let them see the change and the light in your life and they will receive the gift so much better. And always ask for permission.

Speaker 3:

There's a lot of people that do not ask for permission. Like it's so simple. You can say hey, I'd. Sometimes you don't say hey, do you want me to do Reiki on you? No, but you can say hey, do you trust me to deliver peace in your life, Some calm peace of mind, ease and stress and pain. Most people are going to say yes, yes, and allow them to experience it and then let them be on their own journey, because some of us excel fast and some of us need some time. You know, you know not everybody gets. You know to take Reiki one and two at the same time or is ready to go to the master level. Not saying that we, we, we judge people, but that ride, I know. You, ladies know that journey, it journeys. Okay, when you start this Reiki you, you have to be ready for the hills and valleys, the epiphos and um get you a jugna, or most people say a mentor. You can't do this alone.

Speaker 3:

Healing is just like well, it's a team building sport. You have to have your reflection there to tell you hey, that's cool, but maybe we should look at it this way.

Speaker 2:

Right. What a beautiful way to frame that. Thank you for sharing with our listeners. So our next question is what is something that you wish your younger self knew about this current profession?

Speaker 3:

I wish that I knew what it was, because growing up in the church, all you you know and there's nothing wrong with the church, I love Jesus, I love everything you know but knowing that there were so many ways that I can bring people closer to their higher power and not have to necessarily label it, because a lot of people have had trauma in church experiences and other things that have kept them from going above themselves. So if I knew that these things were another way to go about it, I could have helped a lot more people in my journey, especially being the light. You know I've always had this gift, but Reiki kind of opened it up. It really allowed me to touch all different types of people, whether they know they've ever been to church or they ever had a religion or a spiritual following to someone who's a pastor.

Speaker 3:

I met a pastor one day and me and her she's I tell her what I do and she went on, kind of went left and I was like well, thank you for that perspective. I said can I tell you about what it actually does for people? And when I was able to share that with her it kind of changed and shift her way of how she delivered her message and she was able to bring in more younger people, bring in other people that felt rejected in those spaces. So it's like learning a new language. So I wish I would have had this language a long time ago, when.

Speaker 2:

I was younger, right right, and many people you know they don't want to make this step forward on the journey of Reiki because of that religious trauma or things spoken over you with that, because you feel like, my goodness, this is, could this be wrong and what is it all about? And it's just a matter of just being open about it. It's not religious, but it is spiritual, meaning that you're having your own experience the same way, going to the top of that mountain, right, you're just going a different way. So, yeah, it's just interesting that many people don't even want to take that first step.

Speaker 3:

So, yeah, and, you know, taking the first step. I mean, even in any spirituality or modality or religion, it says that you're supposed to lead by faith. Every religion, it doesn't matter what it is or spirituality, it is faith. So if you're called to it, then let it flow. And once you know, if you're listening to your intuition, it will help you to really know what's for you and what's not. You know my younger self. If I would have listened to that, that voice that's another thing that voice that said no, I don't think you should do that, or no, ask that question. That would have been something I would have said be bold in your quest for knowledge.

Speaker 2:

Be bold Absolutely, because it opens up the whole thing and when you look at it, it is that same concept of Jesus when he walked this earth, which was love.

Speaker 3:

Yes, love always wins. Love is the highest frequency. It will change anything.

Speaker 2:

And then the having it. Well, it's Japanese, it's this way, but it really isn't. Just take that opportunity just to learn a little bit about it and make the decision for yourself, instead of letting that dogma still be carried on you, right, right. So, when it is time for you to get your Reiki tune up, what are some qualities that you look for in a Reiki practitioner?

Speaker 3:

It is very, very important that you speak with your Reiki practitioner before you get in the building. Everybody has people that are predestined to them. Every Reiki session is different, so you have to know what's best for you. Like if you want someone like there's some people that don't like touch go to a Reiki practitioner that does not touch. Some people enjoy sound aromatherapy. Ask these questions and really feel the person out.

Speaker 3:

I'm very particular about who I allow, as we should with anything in life, but my biggest thing is that they know as far as they can to the understanding their power and stand in it, fluid in me and believing in my intuition and my power. So if you're not standing above me and you're confident you might be knocked off your feet. Okay, you need to stand in it, you need to own it, because when you own it, then the healer is healed, as when they're doing the healing. So you got to allow um and someone who is always a teacher as well as a student. If you can't learn in each Reiki session, I'm not the client for you, because if I'm coming to you just like, you're giving me a message pretty short, at the end there's something that you're going to have to receive as well, and also someone who is love.

Speaker 3:

You can feel love. You can feel someone's radiation. It doesn't matter what they look like, you can just feel them. 18 feet is the field. So if I can see your light before you get here, if I talk to you on the phone and I see the light, I'm like, oh, we might have a winner. Let's go and sound. I'm a real big frequency. So if we're in the silence, yeah, I mean I'm gonna let you go. You might know you might teach me something, but I do enjoy binary beats, tuning forks, water drums, things like that. It just helps both of us to just move the energy a lot quicker and it makes the practitioner less fatigued because we all need tools. We are the light, but we can have light swords and things like that.

Speaker 2:

You need that energetic toolbox for sure right. Yes To do all those tools. I mean, when you look at it you know Jesus was a carpenter. Yes To do all those tools.

Speaker 3:

I mean, when you look at it you know Jesus was a carpenter right, he had his tools, he had his tools, he knew he did with his hands and just knowing that. Another thing with a practitioner is it's not always the time that they've been a practitioner. That's a real big misconception, because if we have been here in the, which is multiple lifetimes, which I believe you can be thousands of years of experience just because you got a tune yesterday, you could have been laying hands since you was a little kid. You didn't know. Now you have to focus, so I don't go on if you've been there for a year or if you've done it for 10 years. It's what do I see and feel when I'm in your presence?

Speaker 2:

Absolutely. And when you look at our history, you look at Jesus, who only taught for so many years. Dr Azoui only taught for so many years. Look at Abraham Lincoln and the short time he had an impact John F Kennedy, martin Luther King, Malcolm X throughout our history, the short amount of time they did those things and to us it seems like wow, you know 50 years. And then when you look back and it's like wow, it was only three years or four years the impact they made in our world. So never look at you know the, you know the clock or the calendar with that, because someone may just be starting out on their journey and they can have, um, not necessarily the power, but I guess the connection as someone who might have been out there doing this for 30 years.

Speaker 2:

So we all have our own thing right, and it's not saying one's better than the other.

Speaker 3:

It's just unique in its own way Right, and also getting someone, a practitioner, that not necessarily may have been through what you've been through, but have had experience on what you're going through, because Reiki is very intimate. So there has to be a question. You know you got to. We have to have a conversation before you lay hands. Ok, like you know, I want to ask you know did you have any trauma? Have you know any sounds react to you? Do you know? Paying attention to people's body language is something else, like it's very important because I want you to be safe, because feeling safe is going to allow you to release.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, now you're relaxed, right?

Speaker 3:

Yes, I want you to be. Most of my clients are asleep. They're like I went to half way through your sleep and then they wake up and say, hey, did I go to sleep?

Speaker 2:

And they feel that's an insult. You know falling asleep, but it's actually a compliment. That's like that's the best compliment that you could give me, that you know you fell asleep Right.

Speaker 3:

Yes, I love it. Wonderful. Yes, I love it.

Speaker 2:

Wonderful so, all of your experience working with children, working with adults, all these modalities that you are trained and skilled at. What is?

Speaker 3:

some advice that you would give someone who's just entering this profession, and it can be about you know the kids Reiki as well. So when it comes to first coming into the profession again, picking your your reiki master based on what feels good to you, don't necessarily go with what other ways you may do it. It's what's true to you. Um, always be a student. Learn as much as you can, learn as many modalities as you can like. Just because you're a reiki practitioner doesn't mean you don't need to learn about plant medicine Just because you do adults, you know. Learn a little bit about children. Yeah, try as many different types of people as you can, whether in the beginning you're offering it as a love offering or you're doing it just for practice. Go ahead and do it when it's with children. Know the difference between children and adults is they do not need as much Reiki time. Do not short circuit the child by trying to go an hour with them on the Reiki table. They are pure. They don't usually have that many things going on unless they've been through extreme trauma, and even then you don't want to go more than 25 to 30 minutes with a child If they have extreme trauma. Maybe 45, but not the first session. When you deal with children, you have to have a conversation and you have to make it fun. We can't go into the language that you have with an adult. I'm going to put my no, no, no, we're going to show them, hey, hey, it's shoulders. We can do all of that. But make it so they understand that I'm here to help you unlock your power. That's how I talk to the children. I say you know, you're a superhero, right? They're like for real you are. And guess what we're going to do. What we're going to do, we're going to unlock your powers. How are we going to do that? Well, we're going to lay and I'm going to put my hand on your power sources and then we're going, you might feel, and tell them what they'll feel. They might feel warm, they might feel cold, they might want to cry, they might want to laugh, they can talk.

Speaker 3:

I allow children to talk Adults. I kind of be like, hey, how about we save the question so later, because now you're trying to deflect most of them. But kids don't, they need that. And I allow a child to tell me when they want to stop. I allow a child to tell me when they want to stop. It is so important. It does not matter if we're five minutes in, two minutes in. If they need to sit up, I have things that they could play with. Listen, why don't you hit the tune and fork? They don't necessarily have to be asleep. I'll let them stand up, I'll hit the tune and fork, let them hold it.

Speaker 3:

It's about being flexible in your practice. It's about being flexible in your practice. It is not us, you know, we're just a vessel. So, making sure that we're doing that, making sure that, also with children, that you have a integration session after you really talk to them about, well, what did you think? How did it make you feel? Is there anything you want to say? And I've had children say some, some things that I needed to hear.

Speaker 3:

I was like, well, where did you go? Like like, I've been here 38 years and I've you just summed it up in five minutes. That, and one of the biggest things is also, I try not to allow, if the kid is comfortable, the child is comfortable not to have the parent necessarily in the room, sit right outside the door, because there's some times that kids will not be in a space of actually expressing how they feel based on I don't want my mommy to get mad. I don't want my daddy to get mad, because some of the stuff they do say is pertaining to their parent. I had a young man that he was just, he was getting ready to get kicked out of school. He was so cute little five-year-old, he was adorable, but he had the gift of hearing, so he would hear things and he would say things to people and they would just freak out. So now his voice is gone, so he acts out.

Speaker 3:

So, as we're doing the Reiki session, after the session I said you know that you can hear things that other people can't hear. He said you know, and I said yeah, yeah, I know. I said you know that that's OK, but this is the way that you may have to share it with the world and it it opened up this thing where his mom and his dad were able to have that conversation and give him guidance. So it's very important and also allowing people to feel safe in the space. That's one conversation I have.

Speaker 3:

There's nothing you can tell me that I'm going to go. No, because we have to be real. Lying to me is not going to help you. Because we have to be real, lying to me is not going to help you. Okay, butter me up that. Oh, that was the best session ever. No, no, no, tell me, tell me, I didn't feel anything so I can tell you when you get home. You might start crying. Hey, when you get home, you might have some dissension systems. Let's talk about it and always having letting them know that they can reach out, especially if they had a rough session. I check in within 48 hours. You have to take a spiritual bath. That's a non-negotiable. It's a non-negotiable. We got to wash that stuff off, that we got to put out of your body, and that's really, you know, some of the main things when dealing with children and adults.

Speaker 2:

Beautiful. I love that you're offering this free space for children to be their authentic self and hold space with them. How beautiful is that?

Speaker 3:

Yes, I love it.

Speaker 2:

I love it. I love it. So thank you for your wisdom. With that, for our listeners. And our next question is you know, what books do you recommend?

Speaker 3:

Well, my absolute favorite that I think that every Reiki practitioner should have in their arsenal, no matter what age you're working with, is Metaphysical Anatomy, and that is by, I take, miss Rose. Is I'm going to say her name wrong Everett Rose? I think that's her name. When I tell you this book is a godsend, even if someone has never had Reiki data they're not, doesn't know anything about chakras you can just simply ask, on your opening form, your intake form, any pain that they have in their body, any illness that they have, and this book breaks it down what the emotional basis is. And I have literally had people come in and be a little weary about it, about the Reiki session. They heard about it, they want to try it, and I start with that Well, hey, have you any common pain? And they'll say, oh well, you know I got gout. Oh, so you're not feeling safe in your love life and your finance or in the space that you're in. Now they're like well, let's talk about that. That, because everything the biggest thing is dis-ease in the spirit becomes disease in the body. So when we get to disease you've been dealing with this emotion for more than three to four years intensity, so now it has manifested in your body. So we can, if we go to the root, not just through the bandage, we can do it.

Speaker 3:

And that book, it don't matter if you're a beginner or you're an expert if they want to say expert, it is uh, it's like a lifesaver. You could just open book and it gives you confidence. The other one is um, biofield tuning, and that is by let me, let me see what was that guy's last name. Oh, my gosh, you can Google. It's the only one. It's the only book you put biofield tuning. It's the only one. And that's always about the tuning forks. And tuning forks are sonar acupuncture. It is a beautiful tool that you can use as a beginner to actually help you to move energy, help you to hear, open up your spiritual ear.

Speaker 3:

And then the Wheels of Life by Annette Judith. I just said her name, I'm really bad, but the Wheel of Life is all about the chakra system. Now, that book is a heavy read read. This is not a book you're not. You're going to get through in a couple months. It is a lot of information. Chunk it up, meditate with it, see how it goes. But it breaks down the chakra systems by age zero to you know how it goes from zero to six is the root chakra, development, seven to, and it teaches you more or less where you might have to go back to help them go forward.

Speaker 3:

Um, cause a lot of people have to do inner child work. You know most of us, you know most of our adult problems come from our inner child, so that's actually what helped me to, that motivate me to work with children, other than the fact that you know I've been working with children since I was 14 and my grandma had a daycare center. Um, that if I get to the child first, then there'll be less inner child work we have to do later. Let me give you the tools you know. So those will be my two main books that I would definitely, definitely recommend. And then for the actual healer for the body, it would have to be.

Speaker 3:

You know, my favorite book was Sacred Woman and that's by Queen of Fuwa. It really teaches you about making your home your sanctuary, your temple, your kitchen being your laboratory, the times that they need to eat, the times of the day you need to eat, the time of the days you don't what food you need to eat, the beginning or the end, and it also teaches you a little bit about alters. Not everybody deals with alters, but if that's something you're into, it gives you a basis where you take the meat and leave the potatoes. Where it resonates, go with it. Where it doesn't resonate, leave it there. But it works. It's a beautiful book and it's a life changing book.

Speaker 2:

Beautiful. I love that. One of our teachers, millie, and I have a teacher and she would always say it's like a buffet, pick what you want. So that was always the thing. So beautiful, what a wonderful selection of books, very interesting. So I'm going to have to pick up a couple of those with some of my audible points credits. Thank you for sharing that. So what other modalities do you offer? You had mentioned in the beginning some of the things that you offer, but let us, our listeners, know what services you offer.

Speaker 3:

Okay.

Speaker 3:

So I offer self mastery for children. That is based on the child. It goes from anywhere between speech, writing, behavior modification, spiritual awakening, helping them with their gifts. It's tailored to your child's needs. I also do Reiki for children. I also do spiritual mediation, which is that I go in and either it's between the parent and the child. I even do husband and wife and we go in and we get down to the root of this communication.

Speaker 3:

Forget about the egos. Let's talk about the little boy in you and the little girl in you are a conflict here and how we can get to the grown people, to where we are. When it's with children and parent. It's giving them a buffer so the parent doesn't take it personal and the child can speak freely. That's one of my favorite. I've had a lot of success with that and it makes me get teary to think about the changes that I've had in some children's lives where some of the children were getting ready to be committed because they just couldn't get it together. And to see them turn around and go to college and become NC wrestling champions and be able to maintain it's just that is one of my most favorite ones.

Speaker 3:

Also, the Cambo practitioner. Cambo is a beautiful plant medicine, you know. Again I'm going to make this disclaimer, this is just for entertainment purposes. I am not a doctor. You must prescribe. You must talk to your physician before doing any of these and I am not a seller or dealer. I am just giving information.

Speaker 3:

But Cambo really helps to move energy that has been stagnant for a very long time. It actually is. It clears your blood. It's an annihilation that a lot of indigenous people use in their tribe but it also clears the brain fog. It gives you a calm, a clarity that you can get a lot quicker on a physical level by expelling a lot of these toxins and moving the energy. It's definitely something that you have to be prepared for.

Speaker 3:

Let me just jump out. There's a lot of integration that needs to happen after I also minister Sanaga. Sanaga is an eye drop. It helps you with depression and anger. It helps you to move any of that Bipolar, different things. That helps to lessen those side effects. That is given into the eyes again and it does have an interesting feeling in the body. Okay, but after the clarity is clear, it also helps you spiritually of the things you don't want to see. So if you're not ready to see the things you don't want to see. That's not what you want to do. And then also hape. Hape is an indigenous semonic snuff or tobacco and it helps with grounding. A lot of people use it in meditation, we use it and administered with other plant medicines. It is a beautiful thing. It is a beautiful modality. It helps clear mucus off the brain. It helps you to really zone in and be present in the moment. That's one of the biggest things.

Speaker 3:

And then the last thing that I do is I also, you know, I do Reiki classes for children as well. That is another one of my favorites. I actually have a Reiki summer camp that I have. I'm just waiting on the final details before I put that up there. But I teach them again how to be the healer in them and I make it very simple. I teach them how to when they're in school somebody has a tummy ache, you got to ask permission, got to ask permission. Hey, your stomach hurt, can I ask the teacher? You know things like that. But shows them how much power that they actually have.

Speaker 3:

Because imagine if each one of us had this modality when we were three, four, five, and how open we would be, how internal, we would be with it. I've had a young man actually he was eight years old and he came to my attunement and we did a practice session on his stepmother and she actually went through a breakthrough of a childhood trauma that she couldn't even remember. And this young man stood there and brought this thing up. I was in tears and he kept saying I see the light coming from me Go into her, like he described everything that you could imagine and it was life changingchanging to see the confidence. Because he had problems with confidence. Speaking his truth, he had behavior issues.

Speaker 3:

After that session he said I'm powerful, I can do this, I can, I can heal the world, you can, you are the world. So that's one of my, my favorite ones there. And then I also do play dates for parents. So you know, life is life and so kids need that one-on-one. So if you need that, that's what I do, you know I'll come to your house. I just right before this podcast, I just did one and I walk in and I gave the little girl some markers and she was like this is all for me.

Speaker 3:

I was like yeah, I said we're about to have fun and we played for straight out. She had to tell me I'm tired. I got to sit down. I said okay, now we're where we need to be. I said so, now we're going to breathe and meditate. So those are the things that I do.

Speaker 2:

Wonderful, wonderful. I love that. Such amazing and inspiring stories. What a difference you're making in this world. Wow, Thank you for all that you do. So our listeners are hearing this, getting inspired. Where can they find you? Do you offer online in person? Let us know how we can get in touch with you.

Speaker 3:

So you can reach me on Instagram at ReadyRayKey. You can reach me at Facebook at ReadyRayKey. You can go to Facebook and just type in ReadyRayKey. You can reach me on my website ReadyRayKeycom. You know, just hit that chat button and you know I'll be right with you. You also can reach me by telephone, which is on the website at the bottom, and those are the main ways that you can reach me. You can text me. You know, when you see the phone number, I'm not going to. I'm not one of those people you could text me. I will get back to you within 24 to 48 hours and we'll be able to definitely see what service you may need.

Speaker 2:

Beautiful. I love that. Thank you for sharing. Well, this ends our little part of the journey together. It was an absolute pleasure to walk along this with you. I've learned so much and I'm going to pass this over to my co-guide, Millie Pampina. That has three social media questions for you. So, Millie, Thank you so.

Speaker 4:

Millie, thank you. I, you know, took a lot of notes, tanya, because I just your energy, me all the way up here in Pittsburgh and you know, I appreciate that. You know the beauty that that brings with it and your enthusiasm that that brings with it and your enthusiasm. I especially loved some of your comebacks for folks about you know what's the biggest things that you have to put up with in this environment. I just love that. So it's not Reiki, it's bringing you peace and harmony and relaxation. And just you know your work with kids, kids. I can't believe the pressure children are under these. It's just it's difficult to watch. It really is. I know that I have I have grown a grown daughter, but I also have two young grandsons and I just, you know, sit back some days and say, gosh, I would just wish they could get a break yeah, and then social media is really, uh, it can really add to that, you know everything that consumerism.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, the, the, the. You know, every child has to have 10 different activities. They go to school, they come home they don't even get a chance to eat. Half the time they're eating in the car. They're going to this activity, that activity, that activity, homework, online. You know everything, my goodness. So I, you know, try to have, try to have that patience with them, spend good time with them. So, but, thank you, thank you. That's uh beautiful that you recognize that and you put it to work. Um, so we have our three social media questions. Uh, tracy gets these from our listening and viewing audience and, um, she boils them down. And the first one that I have is what inspired you specifically to work with children ages two to 16?

Speaker 3:

Well, my grandmother was a school teacher and a superintendent. They dubbed her St Holly and the reason why is because she was actually her specialty was special ed. So all the children that were difficult she would have and she would have this amazing effect on them. So, fast forward, my grandmother being my grandfather, was a pastor, my grandmother was first lady. She decided to open a daycare through her, with her own money, through the church, to address the needs in our community that we had. And that was actually my first job and I got to see. I started working with children. We had a daycare and we had an after-school center. So I would work with the children from two to about five in the daycare center and then after school from five to 16. And I saw how much change.

Speaker 3:

My first experience was working with two twins and one could speak, the other one couldn't. One could write, the other one couldn't. And by the time I finished that year with them, they could speak, they can. Both of them could speak, both of them could write. They were taking naps, they were cracking jokes. Like it was the most amazing thing and to see the parents come in and be in tears because one they're not worried about their child being able to function, they're able to understand, and then they have that bridge that they know that their child can come here and be themselves and develop. Also, in the after school center we actually had three children that were on the spectrum, because that's one thing I did not mention I do specialize with children on the spectrum. That is another big thing that I do, no matter what the spectrum is.

Speaker 3:

And we had two children that one was autistic and the other one had autism and a slight hint of Down syndrome. And that's where I saw miracles, that's where I saw the faith in how my gift would be able to change not only the child but the family unit, because both of the children were told that they wouldn't be independent. Both of the children were told that they wouldn't be independent, that they would have to grow up and be in a home, and I watched these two parents, separate parents, faith and diligence and allowing us to treat them, saying, hey, you push them as far as they can without making them super uncomfortable, and watching them both develop, where one now is in college, has her own apartment, has a boyfriend you know what I'm saying. The other young lady she just got, she's about to graduate high school and it's just amazing to just see that and me seeing the children later in life and they come to me and tell me you saved my life, like you really saved my life. I get emotional now because it's to really know that I was doing it, because I love it and I didn't know you needed that and because of my enthusiasm and my love and my excitement and everything I was able to save, like God said, even just one. So that was that was it, and my grandma always taught me not to cookie cut.

Speaker 3:

Every child, every person is different and you have to see them as God sees them. Everybody is pure at the core, you know, I mean so. No matter what they're displaying, that's their own fight with themselves. That's not personal. So you just got to be the light and hopefully they'll come around.

Speaker 4:

If not, then somewhere down the line when they recall the experience that they had. That's wonderful. Thank you so much, and thank you to your grandmother for shining that beautiful light and, you know, capturing you and all those others in it. That's, that's just. That's one of those heartwarming stories that makes you want to be a better person, and I appreciate you sharing that with us. Thank you sharing that with us, thank you. So our second question is do you find there is a difference in the energy when you work with a child versus an adult? So I know we talked a little bit about that, but what's your thoughts on that, because I know that's one that's very confusing for people.

Speaker 3:

Yes, the energy with a child is not as strong. How can I say it's more pure than when you're working with an adult. There's less having to read between the lines, like with a child's energy. First of all it's usually subtle and then it rises. It rises, it does not it's not necessarily going to be a boom feel the effects quicker than an adult. So you have to be very cautious and be very aware of the kid's body language, their breathing, their movement. Some of them have like a little bit of shakes when they're getting their energy cleared and they're really straightforward. That's the biggest energy.

Speaker 3:

A lot of times, with adults and you're working with adults, you'll bring something up or something you'll say to them, say, hey, you're shocked, your chakra's blocked, or this is the energy I heard, or the message, and they'll be like no, not me, I'm, that's never me. I worked on that already. No, kids are going to tell you that's how I feel. I am sad, I am happy, I am mad. So it's really a lot easier to work with children. But you also have to meet them where they're, where they are. But be very clear in your explanation to them. Adults, they can understand when you kind of be a bit ambiguous.

Speaker 3:

No, with children you have to be very clear. Hey, you're sad, what does that look like for you? Ok, you got to be there with them. You got to say what do you do when you're sad? You have to really break it down in their integration. Adults you do, but you don't, you know. You know you're mad. We know what the things you do. You're mad. We probably talked about it in your intake form. You know whether you self-medicate, whether you jog, whether you eat, whether you do all this. So now we just have to go to let's find a different way. Children are learning what the process is, so be very mindful in the process you give them and how you do that. Okay, and never cookie cut just because this child looked like this child and had the same thing. They're not the same. Take a moment and breathe and listen to what's being said. That's the biggest difference with the child.

Speaker 4:

That's very interesting because it sounds like you know adults and I guess we all learn all the terms and everything out there as we age and we study and things. But children can't be ambiguous. You have to really, you know, listen to them and provide that similar type of feedback to them. So, thank you, Even I'm taking it all in here. Yeah, I have three young grandchildren and some days I'm just like but it's very important that you also share your stories with them.

Speaker 3:

That's what another thing is. When you're working with children, you have to say to them you know what, when I was your age, I was sad, and when I was sad, I would go do this and they'd be like for real yeah, and that was okay. You know how you feel. You have the right to have feelings. You have the right to feel. But what you do with them is where it starts getting tricky, because this is what we don't do with anger. This is what we do do with anger. Can you scream? Yes, but not at people. You can go outside and scream. That's throat shocker. Let's go.

Speaker 3:

I do screaming sessions with kids all the time. They love it, especially if the anger management will go out in the forest and we'll just scream, scream my little head off. They'd be like oh, that feels so good, doesn't it? It feels good to be. Or they can't go outside screaming a pillow.

Speaker 3:

But number two is take a breath, breathe, baby, listen, whether you're happy, sad or whatever, before you even speak. We need three breaths and I need to hear it. It needs to be audible. We need to hear it. I need to hear it. It needs to be audible, we need to hear it, I need to hear it. No, let it out. And it really changes the dynamic of how kids identify their feelings, you know. So it's really big and when you breathe with them, it's great. You know, when you're upset, tell them you're mad. When they say are you OK? If you're not OK, don't say you're OK because you're not OK, you're. You're tricking their intuition. Say to them you know what? I'm not OK right now. I'm a little mad. I'm not mad with you, I just. I don't know why I'm mad, but I'm going to be OK. I'm going to go take a breath, I'm going to go take a walk, I'm just going to sit here in silence and it helps them to do it.

Speaker 4:

No, that's very sound advice you know to do as I do, not as I say so you know, you have to be present for them. And I, I agree, I, I, I try very hard. It's difficult. But once you know, especially when you start studying reiki and yeah, working with so many different personalities, all of a sudden you're like, well, you need to bring that forward and process it and learn from that lesson and you know, use it to your advantage is not make it a disadvantage, and I like that.

Speaker 4:

I like that. I think I'm going to hike them into the woods here and let them scream their heads off.

Speaker 3:

And when they scream, let them know that that first scream is going to be one of those. I might get in trouble like that. Ah no, no, I need to. I need your belly to rumble. I need you to feel your throat vibrate like let's do it. We're going to do it together and and it's, it's a freeing experience. You know throat chakra, you know removing energy, you know we speak our truth. So if you can't speak it, scream it.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, perfect, that's perfect. That works for adults too, like you said. Yeah, I just think that's. You know, I have a tendency to be very quiet about different things the older I get, and you know I need to. I need to practice that more myself. So, thank you, that's very motivating. My neighbors are probably going to be calling the police here sometime tonight while I'm yelling, but it's fun when they come over and say I'm sorry, I was doing a meditation, a chant.

Speaker 3:

It just sounds like screaming, you know, and you can tell your neighbors hey, this is something that is a practice that is shown to reduce stress, pain in the body and inflammation. Let's go out and scream there's nothing wrong, we're going to be okay, okay.

Speaker 4:

A block screaming really get that energy.

Speaker 3:

You would be amazed at how happy your neighbors will be If one day, your neighbors will come over and they're going to have whatever they like to do in their downtime. They're going to say, are you ready? And it'll be a Wednesday and you're all out there holding hands and just hi, and they go back to your respective places and be like, oh, it feels great.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, I live in a cul-de-sac. We could form that circle right here.

Speaker 3:

I love it. They make a joyful noise. You know joyful, but it will. I will tell you, the first time you really let that scream out, it will bring tears because it's unlocking. So if you see a little baby start crying, it's okay, it is all right. Let them cry, are you okay? You don't have to ask them that they're fine, they're just releasing.

Speaker 4:

We're releasing no, we, as adults, we just don't do that. We let it build up and build up, build up and it's like steam going off and you know, we really gotta, we really gotta process a lot earlier. I agree, yes. So our third question is wow, what is your favorite activity to do with a child during a Reiki session? So, of all the ones we discussed, do you have a top one, two, three or, you know, is it more dependent on the situation at hand?

Speaker 3:

um, I think the best one is actually using sound, when, if the child does not have any trauma with loud noises and things like that, uh, it's actually introducing them to sound, especially binary frequencies, um, and explaining to them what it does like say, I'm gonna put this music on and when I put the music on, you're gonna close your eyes and you're going to feel and see the music. And they'll say, see the music. I'm like, trust me, you'll kill. I'm not gonna tell you how to do it, because you know how to do it, okay. Ok, don't think about it, just close your eyes. It might look like colors, it might feel like this, it might be tingly, it might make you laugh. And then also explaining to them what that does to the body. Say, if you ring this bell when you feel crazy, it might help you to not feel as jittery. If you ring this bell when you feel crazy, it might help you to not feel as jittery. Um, and then also lights, you know, like those, uh, galaxy kind of things. Love, love, love that with children, um, especially if they're not a close my eyes type of child, because some kids don't like that. They did. You know not what they want to do. They want, want to be present, they want to see. So it gives them something to focus on while I'm going through.

Speaker 3:

And if the child is able to be present, I'll do the session with them, with their own hands. So I'll take their hands and I'll go to their crown. Then I'll go to their and I'll ask them what do you feel in your palms? Do you feel it? And they'll get excited. Oh, I feel something. And then we just go through it because it's about having joy with it. And then when they get home, they're like oh, my head hurts, I got to do this. Oh, I'm feeling confused. Let me put my hands over my eyes and breathe. You know my heart is doing the thing. You know I'm not going to label it, it's a thing. It might be fast, might be slow, it might feel uncomfortable. I put my hand here and I just breathe.

Speaker 3:

You know they go home, especially, you know, when we do Reiki trainings and I do hands on training with them, because I teach them how to do a session, and they do it on their parent or their parental figure. And now, when they go home and they see their parental figure and they're looking down, they say, oh, I'm gonna put my hands on your feet so I can ground you, so you can feel better, and I put my hands on your head. If you have a headache, I know I can change it. So I think that's my my favorite thing to do with children in the session is really enlighten them into. You can do what I'm doing. I am you, you are me. We're just connecting like and explaining to them based on like superheroes. They got all these cartoons that have chakras, that talks about, talks about crystals. I just watched one today with my child clients. It was like crystal power activate. I said. I said you know you can do that, right? She said yeah, so it's about just being referenced to them and getting them excited about it.

Speaker 4:

That's beautiful, that's really beautiful. Yeah, my youngest is. I can see his interest. He's he's been trying to be more focused and playing with more of the things. I I've never really stopped him from touching or playing, and, and Tracy and I are both, you know, we did, we're both sound healers. So I I just loved hearing your you know input about the tuning forks and I'm going to get that book and I think I already have it too. So I gotta, I gotta, double check. But, um, you know, that's really a big part of it is. I actually let him come in. His name's Ollie, and I let Ollie come in and play the instruments.

Speaker 3:

Yes, and children are really good grounders. So even if, like I, have a young lady who is a Reiki practitioner and she's also a therapist, this is beautiful because she gets to give them options. Um, her daughter actually does sessions, like when they need that inner child, that, and this little girl is powerful like I. I went in there and let her give me a session. I said, well, darn little lady like you, a powerhouse for real, and what she'll do is she'll go to your feet and she'll just put her hands on the feet. Do is? She'll go to your feet and she'll just put her hands on the feet and then she'll go to your head and there's nothing like a child's hands on your crown because it's so. You know, of course, you know vetting and making sure everybody feels comfortable, but children will will really break down some stuff for adults, seeing a child in a session doing that and then the child speak, you know spirit speaks to them too, and a good job. Especially Ali goes in and says hey, ma'am, you know you're really sad. Do you know that, like you want to cry? Did you know that and not even know you know. And then it'll just help because kids want.

Speaker 3:

If he's already touching the, the, the music. Allow him start with that. Yeah, start with that. Explain it the different, what the different sounds are, what the different color is. That will be your time wally. Yeah, when you go around we say let's go play the instruments. We're gonna sound bowl today, we're gonna do some tuning forks and we're going to practice Practice on a teddy bear.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, I do my best to get him for that five or ten minutes that I've got him and teach him. This is why we do this, and this is why we do this and this is why we take care of what we have. And he's he's starting to show more interest. He loves to get on the on the videos. Yeah, presence known. But yeah, he's still a little shy, but we're working on him. I got the whole time with him this year, so a lot of fun.

Speaker 4:

well, I thank you so much, and the one thing I wanted to ask you is do you have anything else that during the course of our discussions that you may want have missed or forgotten, or thought you wanted to, thought you wanted to add that you might want to take up now with with us in the audience?

Speaker 3:

I did forget to say that I do do online services as well, um, and I also do travel, so I will come to your state. I will come to teach a class, um, I actually have a get ready to go to Raleigh. Just came back from Atlanta, um, and I do do one-on-one, so, um, the biggest thing in home. So if you have a child out there that you're just you're just behavioral, whether it's you want to build social skills, whether you want to build life building skills, you know, reach out. Um, we can always make a way. You know, I try to meet people in the middle. Um, it's not all. It's not all about the money. We do need an exchange for energy, but it's not all about that. And I'm here for the child. So, and I have had very big changes in things that people said that was permanent, especially with dealing with children on the spectrum, with being verbal. So if you're out there and you're constantly getting like, hey, they may not be verbal or whatever, give me a call, give it a shot. I've had over six children in a span of four months go from nonverbal to verbal, and I'm talking about don't stop after that being able to have life skills, you know, helping you to cope. If you're at your wits end and you just need a vacation, especially with children that have behavioral problems or on the spectrum, you can't trust everybody with your kids I am the person that you know. I do do that service so that you can go and debrief, go outside, go do what you need to do for two or three days. Come back, we're gonna be fine. We're gonna have been playing singles all week. We didn't. We didn't did Reiki, we didn't. We didn't did a whole bunch of stuff.

Speaker 3:

When you come back, it's gonna be a whole different kid. You're gonna be like who's that Sure? So give it a shot. You know you're not alone, like that's the biggest thing. Reach out. If I can't get to you or you know it doesn't work, I have something or a resource that will help you. You're not alone and you are a great parent, like. I want to say that at the end. Like you, even if you're overwhelmed, or a parent or parental figure, even if you're overwhelmed, or a parent or parental figure, even if you're overwhelmed, even if you don't know the right thing to say or do in the moment, as long as you're coming from your heart space, you will always be doing the right thing and always apologize when you know you need to. Kids are resilient, yeah, so take the pressure off. Okay, you're good, everybody you're good and you're doing your best, and I'm proud of you.

Speaker 4:

That is so wonderful and I'm sure there's a lot of adults that will be listening to this that are just going to feel that message and take it to heart and work through that. So, thank you, thank you, thank you so much. Really enjoyed meeting with you and speaking with you today and I wish you well with your practice, and I'm going to be following you on your website and other other areas to see where you're heading and what you're doing, because I just you know that's a real that really comes from the heart when you work with people in that manner and you know, trying to make them their greater self, the best, the best that they can be and want to want to be better, yeah, so thank you for having me.

Speaker 3:

This was an amazing, amazing experience. I look. I wish you all success in all your endeavors, abundance, prosperity and all aspects of life, not just financial, and I look forward to seeing you again.

Speaker 4:
