Ready Set Reiki is a journey
From the curious beginner to the Season Master Teacher
All Energy workers of all systems and all levels.

Speaker 2:

This is Ready Set Reiki, a podcast about Reiki, the universal energy life force, from the curious beginner to the seasoned master teacher, welcoming all systems, all lineages and all levels. Reiki is a journey and not a destination, and on this Ready Set Reiki journey, we refer to ourselves as guides rather than hosts, as we too are traveling, supporting each other and learning on this Reiki journey as well. And with that said, I am your first guide, tracy Seawright, and I'm your second guide, millie Pampina. And today we have a wonderful guest, solara Sevier. She is a Reiki master teacher, oracle International healer, speaker and inventor.

Speaker 2:

She is a founder of SolReiki health, beauty, wellness, a holistic wellness brand that bridges the gap between mind, body and soul. She is a firm believer that we are spiritual beings inhabiting a physical body, and an integration of the two is essential in achieving well-being. As a retired cardiac registered nurse of over 16 years, with an additional degree in psychology, mining and chemistry, Her training gave her the foundational knowledge to formulate her first cosmetic product over 20 years ago and her second one just six years ago. She has a passion to help others heal from the inside out and has combined her two and a half decades of holistic wellness experience to create a renowned international brand. She also offers Azui Reiki levels one, two, three, training and certification, skin testing, intuitive channeling, masterclasses and events. So welcome, Solara, to Ready Set Reiki.

Speaker 4:

Thank you so much, Tracy. Thank you so much, Millie. I'm excited to be here.

Speaker 2:

Wonderful, wonderful, so we are just going to dive right in. I shared with our listeners just a little bit about you, so tell us about yourself.

Speaker 4:

Okay, so I'll begin with. I am one of six children. I was born in the Midwest, in a town some of you may know, st Louis, missouri, and it wasn't until later that I found out that's the same hometown of Dolores Cannon. So some of you may know she's a famed author, hypnotherapist and publisher. So it's exciting to kind of have the same entry point as her. I have a diverse background. For instance, growing up I played the harp, I did some acting, some dancing, I executive produced two independent films, and so I've just kind of had like a holistic experience, so to speak, of doing things here, doing things there, and I've also had that natural inclination to want to help others to heal. So that kind of brought in the nursing aspect. So quite a few things going on. It may seem like it was sort of around the way, but it all turned out to work pretty well.

Speaker 2:

Wow, it sounds like an amazing journey, so I can't wait to hear it on this journey we're having today. So our next question is when did Reiki come into your life? Did you find Reiki or did Reiki find you?

Speaker 4:

Reiki found me. It was at a point in time in my life where I was working as a nurse. I was pretty involved with nursing and had some drops in my energy. I was really struggling to find what was really happening. I felt like, wow, I'm going into work and that's all I can do was work, come home, go to bed. And so I began my spiritual journey in 2012. And upon that journey, I was awakening to my spiritual gifts as well. So just one day, I was just walking around kind of hanging out after getting off work and I heard the word Reiki, like literally in my ears, heard it and I was like, oh my goodness, Reiki, what's that? So I got on the computer, started researching it and I was like, oh my goodness, this, this right here is for me, this is something that can help me with the energy that I'm feeling that's so depleted. And so that is how I learned about Reiki and got involved with it.

Speaker 2:

So that is how I learned about Reiki and got involved with it. Wonderful, wonderful. So you've been on this journey for a few years now. So, as you're out exploring this wonderful modality, what are some of the common misperceptions about your work?

Speaker 4:

Oh, my goodness, when I think about the number one misconception about Reiki is that Reiki is somehow a religion and it's just like I have to be able to share the background of Reiki, where it comes from, and that it's really independent of religion. It's universal life force, energy. So I get very passionate when I explain it and you know I love giving the background. As far as the gentleman who brought it into our awareness for this century and you know sort of that introduction, so I always let them know he had a religion that he came from. But Reiki in and of itself is not a religion.

Speaker 4:

I also get that, you know. If you know, is it possible to heal someone while you are in the same room, or can you do that long distance? So there's a lot of questions about the technicalities of it, how it works, and so it's always a passion, a pleasure to share, just that. Yes, you can, of course, heal at a distance and any other questions that come from that, but it's usually how it works. Is it a religion? What else do I get? Is there anyone that should not get Reiki? You know those kinds of things, so it's always a pleasure to share.

Speaker 2:

Wonderful, wonderful. So, as a teacher of level one, two and three and out there, being of service to so many people, what is something that everyone in this industry should start doing?

Speaker 4:

Prioritizing self-care. I find that a lot of times Reiki practitioners and other energy healers just kind of put their own health sort of to the side a little bit, whether it's that we're working a lot with clients or doing some other things in conjunction with our healing work. We tend to put ourselves to the side just a little bit and say, oh okay, I'll get to that and I just want to blast from the rooftop rooftops that we have to put ourselves to the side just a little bit and say, oh okay, I'll get to that and I just want to blast from the rooftops that we have to really take care of ourselves. We have to really make that a priority. I do Reiki on myself every single day in the morning. That's the first thing I do, and if we do that we can find that we're just really grounded, we're more connected and the ways in which we can serve people it's just more expansive, much more transformative. So self-care, I would say, is the number one thing I would suggest.

Speaker 2:

Right, and it even says so, you know, in the title of your business. You know it's soul Reiki health. Health is first, then beauty, wellness, so, absolutely, you got it. So, as you have had these experiences, if you continued on this journey, what is something that you wish your younger self knew about your current profession?

Speaker 4:

The interesting thing was I had not heard of Reiki until much later in life, and so, you know, I grew up in an era where it was all about, you know, go to school, study hard and get a job, and so a lot of times that equated to your job not really being fun, not really being something that fulfilled you as well.

Speaker 4:

It was something that you had to do to pay bills Right and to take care of a family, and so, fortunately, having that inclination, as I mentioned earlier, to want to help people and sort of, you know, take care of and nurture individuals, I chose the path more traditionally for nursing and, you know, actually, if I can just share, it was actually to be a doctor.

Speaker 4:

That was the main thing, was like to be a doctor. And then I found out that, you know, this residency that doctors would go through for training would take them away from their life, and so, even though I didn't know about Reiki, then I knew that my self care was important, if something was telling me this is not the way you have to have a way to kind of have a barrier, cut things off after a certain point, and then, you know, go back in the next day, and so that is how I sort of got really into you know this health aspect of it, how I sort of got really into you know this health aspect of it. So for my younger self, it's just an awareness of you can have it all, meaning you can have a career that fulfills you and also fulfills others, and it can be fun. You know, it can be nourishing and it can also sustain you in however you would like to live.

Speaker 2:

Beautiful, beautiful. Thanks for sharing that, and what a different path your life would have taken if you went off to that opportunity. Wow, think about that. I know I know, but, you're exactly where you're supposed to be Always Trusting the process, trusting the process. So you had mentioned that you do Reiki on yourself every day. So when it's time for you to get that energetic tune-up, what are some qualities that you look for in a Reiki practitioner?

Speaker 4:

That's such a beautiful question. I get a lot of calls actually from potential clients who will ask you know kind of what makes me unique and they've heard about Reiki. You know, could I explain things a little more? So, absolutely Knowledge based is very important. How knowledgeable is the practitioner?

Speaker 4:

Patience, also, being responsive you know, sometimes we have our, you know our businesses online. We can't get to all the phone calls. So being able to return calls and saying, hey, I know you gave me a call, you know I'm returning your call, how can I help you? So, being responsive, being a great listener, listening to what they're actually saying. Sometimes they'll say one thing but then, if you sort of rephrase it back to them or use your intuition and see what are they really wanting to say or ask, you get a lot more insights into how to help you know the client. Also, being adaptable you know we learn different styles of Reiki. I actually teach and I learn the traditional Yosui style of Reiki. However, I incorporate other modalities inside of that and so being able to listen to my intuition and what's going to help my particular client no-transcript.

Speaker 4:

I'm so glad you asked because I did not have this information when I got started and I was actually still working as a nurse. I was trying to run two businesses at the same time. So you know, working, of course, as a nurse and then having Reiki in the forefront, and it was challenging as a nurse, and then having Reiki in the forefront, and it was challenging. And so you know I would say, have patience. It's a process because, however you come into the awareness of Reiki, you may already be working with something or working for another company, and so it's a process learning how Reiki fits into your life, what you're actually supposed to do and how to use Reiki, getting connected with the community of healers and other change makers. You know to check in and say, hey, is this normal? I'm experienced this. You know, what advice would you give for that? And so it helps to have that community that really gives that support that you can bounce ideas off of. And also, you know, get inspired and stay inspired. Consider the idea that we are lifetime students. We learn this modality of Reiki, but then there's also ways to incorporate other things that can really enhance, you know, our practice and so just realizing like, oh, my goodness, like I learned this and it's exciting. However, there's so much more that I don't know. So just consider being a lifetime student.

Speaker 4:

I think I mentioned earlier about prioritizing self-care. You know we just have to do that as we are leveling up in our businesses and in our lives. Is our healing routine also leveling up? Are we increasing, improving what we need to do to nurture ourselves? So that's going to be adaptable as time goes on, also remembering that this is still a business, so there must be an energy exchange. I hear quite often that there's sort of this guilt or pause when we have to say what we're charging for a particular course or product or offering, and we have to maybe reframe how we think about that, so maybe thinking of it in a way as people are willing to pay to have problems solved, and so if we kind of shift our perspective on how we view energy exchanges, we can remove some of the guilt that sometimes happens for those of us who are service based.

Speaker 2:

Right, right, and people are genuinely surprised when they get out and they do this work, that with the money. Like what do I charge? Because it's so diverse. When you start looking at what other practitioners and you factor in where are they living, you may have someone who's a Reiki practitioner in California charging $125 versus someone who lives somewhere and they're charging 65. So it's a difficult choice to make. How do I price myself? And that's a very good point. You have to really value your work. You're paying for this training you're putting in the time, so you know you got to price yourself accordingly, Absolutely. So our next question is what books do you recommend?

Speaker 4:

I love that question, as I just mentioned about consider being a lifetime student, right, so we have to go and get this knowledge. You know a lot of us aren't just born into the awareness of energy healing and all of the the aspects of it. So two of the books actually come from one of my favorites, dolores cannon. Um, she has one that's really, really good. It's called the convoluted universe and I I love her style of writing and just the way in which she explains in a simple way where we are, how we got here and sort of what is our, what is our purpose, what is our value that we can offer to those who are trying to awaken and find their way. Also, she wrote the Three Waves of Volunteers.

Speaker 4:

I know I'm in the second wave and so a lot of us are trying to find our way and figure out like where do I fit in this world of healing?

Speaker 4:

Like I see this person doing Reiki, this person's doing this, and it's just like, okay, so coming into that awareness of who you are, and if you know that history, if you know where you came from, you can know where you're going, you can tap into your gifts a little bit more easeful, and so I know I'm in the second wave, so that's, you feel more like connected, like okay, so I'm not just the only one you know, so there's a number of us that came um.

Speaker 4:

Also joe dispenza, um, there's this habit of being ourselves that we have to look at sometimes under a microscope and say is this really the best version of myself, like how did I arrive at this place that I'm at now? And so he has a wonderful book and it's called Breaking the Habit of being Yourself and how to Lose your Mind and Create a New One. And so I'm just finding that there's so much truth in that book, and I'm a quantum thinker, so I like to think outside of the box, and so it's just filled with such insights regarding how we can reprogram our mind. So those three books I would definitely recommend.

Speaker 2:

All right, thank you. Thank you for sharing that with our listeners. Some really good reads there, you know, because life is a school, got to keep learning, got to keep learning. So what other modalities do you offer?

Speaker 4:

Great question. So you mentioned during my bio about the skin testing that I offer and, to go into a little bit more of that, my business is a holistic business and I found out that, you know, we can focus on energy healing, which is very important, but we are these energetic beings in a physical body, and so it became very apparent to me that we have to pay attention to this vehicle. You know, if we don't take care of it, our spirit is going to kind of separate and, you know, transition on to the next path, and so, while we're in this body, we want to make sure that we're taking care of it. And the skin testing is all about carotenoids. You can actually place your hand on a scanner and check and see the level of antioxidants or carotenoids in your body, and so I offer this as an adjunct offering and it's been very transformative. I scan myself every 30 days and it lets me know if I'm eating enough fruits and vegetables, and it's just, it's done wonders for keeping me healthy, you know, as far as my food choices.

Speaker 4:

You mentioned the Reiki certification and training, but I also offer a mentorship where I delve more deeply with my clients who have taken levels one, two and three and we go into if they want to offer it as a business. There's a way in which you want to tap into your unique gifts. This gets into bodying being enough and being able to look at their offering as again solving a problem that exists in the marketplace, and so it's more of an exploration and so it's a lot of fun helping clients and mentor mentees to kind of tap into who they are. Thank you, and there's one other thing.

Speaker 4:

I started introducing a Reiki movement and flow. You know, energy just moves and it flows, and when I was first introduced to Reiki I was taught how to kind of hover over the different chakra points and then, as I went into my own practice, I had a revelation about energy and how it moves, it flows, and so I developed a method Soul Reiki Flow where I usher the energy up and out of the body and so I turn that also into movement. So every Tuesday I offer movements to help with flowing and being easeful and based on whatever our topic is for the day. There are movements for that and then we infuse the movements with Reiki.

Speaker 2:

Wonderful. I love it, I love it, I love it, wonderful. So, as a Reiki master teacher, oracle International Healer, speaker and Inventor, tell us how our listeners can get in touch with you. Do you offer classes online, in person? Where can they find?

Speaker 4:

you Both online and in person, and if you Google Soul, reiki, health, beauty and Wellness, there is a link that will take you to all of those offerings.

Speaker 2:

Wonderful. Well, thank you so much. This ends our part of our journey together, and I'm going to pass you over to my co guide, millie Pampina, who has three social media questions for you.

Speaker 3:

So, millie, yes, thank you so much. Oh, that was so enlightening. Thanks so much, millie. I really enjoyed listening. You know some of the things you hit on are just so appropriate. You know prioritizing self-care, setting boundaries. You know listening to your own intuition. I always worry so much that practitioners allow the client to guide. You know the treatments and the healing and what they're getting and that we're not using all of our own. You know training and intuition and everything to. You know bring that, bring that to the table. And it's just. You know every point was checking off with me so well. So, thank you so much. You're so welcome, my pleasure. So we do have the three social media questions and Tracy receives these into our social media, our websites and everything that we have out there. Thank you to our listeners and followers and she boils them down and comes up with the three top ones that are most appropriate. And our first one for you today is do you have a spiritual practice?

Speaker 4:

practice, a spiritual practice, I absolutely do. I incorporate the word soul in everything that I do, so soul and spirit for me are intertwined, and my soul work that I do every single day for myself is Reiki. I do Reiki every single day and I utilize that as an opportunity to heal myself. I'm also an empath. Empaths are individuals who pick up energy from other people, environments, plants and animals, and so, finding this out along my own journey to wellness, I realized that there is a need to make sure that I release energy that is not in coherence with my specific energetic signature and that just basically means energy that does not belong to me, and so it's important for me in my spiritual practice to make sure that I cleanse and clear on a regular daily basis. Also, I use meditation with visualization. Sometimes I have to go a little bit deeper into different chakra points and different aspects of myself If I want to work on some shadow aspects. You know I have to visualize that and make sure that I'm targeting specific things that may come up during my meditation. That also takes me into the food that I eat.

Speaker 4:

Now, this was a struggle for a long time. You know I traditionally grew up eating meat and you know, I was told by a spiritual advisor at one point that it would be beneficial if I embrace more of a plant-based lifestyle, and so it was really challenging for me because I wasn't familiar with that, and so it took many, many, many years for me to be able to understand the nature of what she was talking about the energy that's exchanged when we're actually eating food, whether it be animal proteins and or plant-based diets. And so, for me, I had to switch how I ate. I had to make sure that I had more fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, because it made me have more energy and encouraged my body to clear energy more easily.

Speaker 4:

And so, for me, I'm very mindful and it's just helped me a lot with my energy and how I'm able to move about. The other thing is just regularly checking in with myself, and it could be, you know, say, I'm out and about and I encounter an interaction, whether it be driving or, you know, at a cash register with someone. I have to tune in and tap into my energy, be aware of the energy that's in my body and therefore what I'm attracting, because if I look at my environment and it's not what I desire for it to be, there's something that I've attracted in, there's something that's in my energetic field that's attracting something towards me, and so I do regular check-ins and just make sure that I'm on point, as I say, and so it's very important to be interconnected in a way that I can notice anything that might be slightly off or that I need to bring attention to.

Speaker 3:

That's wonderful. Thank you so much. That's some really really sage advice there, you know, and that you've developed over your journey here. The second question is taking me back to a couple other things I heard you say I love to take notes Me too. Solving a problem tapping into your own unique gifts and guilt about money Boy, that one really resonates. I think everybody listening can maybe pick up on that. So the second question we have here is do you have any advice on promoting your business as a Reiki practitioner?

Speaker 4:

I love that question because it's so wide open. We would think that more of the traditional ways would be oh, I got to get ads, you know Facebook ads or Google ads and things of that nature, but we forget that something as simple as word of mouth, you know that's still that number one marketing tool. Doing a good job with your service, of whomever you are gifted to work with, and asking them would you mind writing a review? You know I'm working on building my business. May you write a review and then may I share that review with others and, most likely, if you've done a great job and you've helped in any way, they're just excited about that and they will graciously write a review. And so I have been able to capture reviews.

Speaker 4:

I have a Google profile and I don't spend any money on Google ads, but the majority of my business comes from Google and they find me and they say I just typed in Reiki near me or energy healing and you pop up, and so I would say another way would be SEO using hashtags. You know, however, you would want to be recognized online. So if it's Reiki master teacher or Reiki practitioner, or whatever city that a person is from, like Reiki in my case, reiki Atlanta. So if you have like a core set of SEO tags or hashtags that you can use for every single post, that kind of puts you up in the ranking so that the more people are searching you will tend to show up. You know, if you use that on a regular basis, if you do things such as masterclasses, either individually or collaborating, I found that when you can leverage the networks of others who are in your same field, that's also very helpful. So you know, even if it's just, you know, hopping on a Zoom or a live and just sharing your insights, people get a chance to hear more about who you are and they'll look you up on social media and it's very likely that they'll follow you and or reach out for a service.

Speaker 4:

I actually was able to attain one client from. She told me that there was a comment that I made on a particular platform and she liked the comments, she liked how I responded and that was just me just commenting, just being myself commenting, and she actually is a client of mine today based on that. So it's just being aware that there are no set stones or rules, for this is the way that you can get a client, like just being open, being led. You know you might just wear a t-shirt and be and go to a farmer's market, you know just all kinds of things that might kind of drop in. You know that would be unique. But I would just say, if people get inspired, insights to do something different and you may say, wow, this is different. I haven't seen anyone do this. Well, I don't know if it's going to work. Give it a try, because you never know.

Speaker 3:

Absolutely, that's great advice. Thank you so much. Doesn't work, don't use it, go, go on to the next one. Yeah, go to the next one, sure, and if it does work for you, continue to grow it. Yeah, beautiful. So okay, cause I know a lot of folks you know in this profession and other professions. We all suffer from imposter syndrome and all these things where we just don't know if we're ready. We don't, you know, we're not ready to leave the nest, we're not ready to come out onto the floor. We just need that confidence of having somebody you know engage us, and that's great advice there. So our third final question is can you share an experience you had with a client or experience that gave you the clarification and reassurance that you were on the right track with your profession?

Speaker 4:

Oh, I get chills. Mm-hmm, oh I get chills. So I'm going to use a recent experience and I was working with a client. This was a new client that actually found me, you know, on Google, and so it was an into her home getting everything set up, you know, just talking to her, helping her to feel comfortable, and we were doing her session and part of my session I actually listened to insights that divine, that divinely come through me.

Speaker 4:

So I use my intuitive gifts and so when I'm working in person, I have to catalog the information, because I don't have that pause to stop and write things down. So I'll categorize it based on the chakras. And so I'm like, okay, crown, tell them this, because I can either hear, see or just know what to tell them. And so I remember, in our post session I was just giving her the insights that came through and to see her response and the resonance that you know she experienced, she just kept saying like, oh my gosh, like how do you know that? Do you know me? Like you know, and just saying things like I just had this thought this morning. So it's amazing to me to say something and it's the exact you know thought that someone had, or the exact reassurance that they needed.

Speaker 4:

And, interestingly enough, we were talking and she said, oh, I want to give this to you. And she said I, you know, you mentioned this earlier and it was something purple. And I said to her I said, well, you know, I never said anything about the word purple. And to hear her say, well, I heard you, you said purple. And so to me she was awakening part of her spiritual gifting that she didn't know she had.

Speaker 4:

And so she was amazed because she was like no, I heard you say purple. And I said I can guarantee you, I didn't say purple, like no, I heard you say purple and I said I can guarantee you, I didn't say purple. And so it's just this connection where we're in the same space, our souls are connected as we agree on the intention for the healing session and the energy that's exchanged and it never gets old to hear the sort of that confirmation of these gifts are real, they do work. People are responding to you, people are being touched. I've had patients, not patients, but clients. I'm actually cry, be very tearful from information that comes through. So I just have to say the intuition is the part to me that really enhances the overall session.

Speaker 3:

Beautiful, beautiful. Well, thank you, thank you. Thank you so much. The last thing I want to ask you before we close out our section of this is do you have anything, as you've been talking and thinking, that you might want to add or clarify or or, you know, give us some additional insight?

Speaker 4:

Well, I was just thinking. I hope that I answered your last question.

Speaker 3:

You know our, our format is open and you know I just like people to, you know, just bring it from the heart, you know, and channel it in a way that makes sense to you and your. You know your experiences and I thought that was very good. I kind of liked everything I've heard.

Speaker 4:

I appreciate you. I appreciate you saying that because I was thinking okay, did I answer the question? And with that I will say, as I pause, to see if spiritual information will come in. So we are in a phase on this planet of massive awakening and there was a time in my life where I felt so alone. I felt that I was the only one who wanted to share information. That was different meaning. Helping the soul to awaken and to ascend to these higher heights was different meaning helping the soul to awaken and to ascend to these higher heights.

Speaker 4:

And I just kept saying to myself, like why would I have these gifts if there's no one that can understand them? And what I did not know at the time was that I was before my time. So I want to speak to the person out there who was thinking I'm alone, no one gets me, no one understands me, and I just quit. I don't want to pursue this spiritual gifting anymore because people are looking at me like I'm crazy, and so I just hold space for you. I give you a big, big energetic hug and tell you to dig in deeper. Your community is waiting on your arrival.

Speaker 4:

Had I stopped the many times where it crossed my mind to just quit, because I felt like I wasn't, you know, being received in various communities and like my words were just formed crickets sounds, you know, on social media. Just keep going, just have patience with yourself and love yourself and know that you might just be before your time and your community is out there. So I just want to share that because there are it gets tough out here. Even though we're having this massive awakening, individual circles might not be ready for that insight and perspective, and so someone may be feeling like this is wasting my time and I give up. So hang in there. If you feel led to reach out to me, I can give you some inspiration and support. But we need each and every light worker out here. Whatever your gift is, whatever your talent, whatever it is, just shine brightly. Do not dim your light for anyone or anything.

Speaker 3:

Beautiful, beautiful. Thank you, it made me feel awfully good. My pleasure.
