Ready Set Reiki is a journey
From the curious beginner to the Season Master Teacher
All Energy workers of all systems and all levels.

Speaker 2:

This is Ready Set Reiki, a podcast about Reiki, the universal energy life force, from the curious beginner to the seasoned master teacher, welcoming all systems, all lineages and all levels. Reiki is a journey and not a destination, and on this Ready Set Reiki journey, we refer to ourselves as guides rather than hosts, as we too are traveling, supporting each other and learning on this Reiki journey as well, and, with that said, I am your guide today, tracy Seawright. Today, I have a wonderful guest that I got to work with during my kid Reiki training. So a few months ago, I had an opportunity to attend a pilot class for a kid Reiki training, and there I was connected to Teresa Marie. Now let me tell you a little bit about her.

Speaker 2:

She is a dedicated Holy Fire Reiki master teacher and practitioner, with a journey that began in 2005 when she learned Azui Reiki. Her commitment to spiritual growth led her to pursue Holy Fire Master Training in 2017, after which she established her business, renaissance Reiki, in San Antonio, texas. Her passion for continuous learning reflects her avid pursuit of knowledge, fueled by her profound love and appreciation for Source, mother Earth and Humanity. She currently is residing in Germany. She conducts her classes and healing sessions online, bringing geographical boundaries to share in her transformation power of Reiki. Beyond the practice, she selflessly serves as a volunteer at the Red Cross, offering Reiki sessions to wounded warriors at the TBI Clinic within the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, demonstrating her compassion and commitment to healing.

Speaker 3:

Teresa, welcome to Ready Set Reiki Well thank you, tracy, it's great to be here.

Speaker 2:

Wonderful, wonderful. It's good to see you again from our Kid Reiki training, our pilot class. So I told our listeners a little bit about yourself. So tell us, tell us about you.

Speaker 3:

Oh gee, I'm 61 years old, grew up in Dayton, ohio, youngest of five kids, single mom. I'm the youngest of five kids, single mom, and love to play outside. Oh, we lived outside back in those days. Yeah, there was no electronics. So I'm a tree climber and just love the outdoors. So, let's see, even took environmental science studies in high school, went to a joint vocational school and that's actually where I met my current wife and my daughter's husband, and so you know, we've been married.

Speaker 3:

Dorothy and I have been married for almost well 34 years and we've moved all over. She's retired Air Force, served 23 years in the Air Force. I have a, we have a daughter, jacqueline, who actually is a Reiki master and does her Reiki as well. She's 38. And she created a Reiki business while she was living here in Germany called Heart Space Reiki, and she's just a phenomenal human being and I know I'm her mom, but she really is. She's just says, she's very empathetic and I learned so much about her while she lived here with us for almost two years. Um, just things I never even knew about her. So it's wonderful to be able to live with your children as adults, because it's a different relationship.

Speaker 3:

Um, it was a great time of healing for really all of us, because we moved over here in july of 2020, which was full-on covid. You know, europe in general really took that. What was it called? Not isolation, that's what it felt like, but quarantine, it took that very seriously. I mean off and on for years. So, you know, but there was a lot of you know everything coming up in that time frame for healing and growth, and this house was rocking with healing and growth. I'm going to attest to that and I'm the word surrender. I mean, I, I lived it for a good couple of years and it was transformational, really transformational really. And um, holy fire reiki certainly um, assisted in that because, you know, as you know, as a holy fire reiki master, you know you're constantly being healed on an energetic level. You know, not like um, consciously, like you're doing it yourself, and there's been so many times, excuse me, over the years where I'm like, wow, I don't do that anymore and I can look at it and go. I didn't even try to heal that and it was astounding that this healing was coming from within. And, of course, when things come up, they aren't always pleasant and there's a period of letting go and allowing and releasing and transforming, you know, back into love and light. I mean, it's just a cycle and I certainly learned that, um through COVID, um, more so through that time period, for sure, um, well, we ended up. Well, we ended up.

Speaker 3:

I'll go back a little bit. We moved to from Dayton, ohio. We moved to Rapid City, south Dakota Fabulous Black Hills, badlands, just gorgeous there, really sacred land with the Sioux Indians. And then we moved to San Antonio for a year, went to Baltimore for a year, went to Hawaii for four years, moved back to San Antonio and that's where we have a house, so that's where we live when we're not living and working in Germany. And we'll we'll move back to San Antonio in July of 2025. So it's just been a magnificent journey because every time we move, you know you meet new people, you get a feel for a different culture.

Speaker 3:

There's been plenty of times where I have felt like a minority, which is a great thing to experience. So when we moved to San Antonio in 2004, we started going to Unity Church of San Antonio and the minister's husband was a Reiki master and he mentioned it. He was teaching a Reiki class and I was like that sounded interesting, so did level one and two, and then we practiced and and then in 2017, um, you know, I even with my um, giles wits it was my reiki master, sui reiki master in san antonio, wonderful man, and we were both kind of interested, like man, it would be great to learn from William Rand. And in 2017, that's when I was like pulled to do that. It was like Japan or the UK and Glastonbury. Oh, and even in that time I considered taking Jiki Denreiki in Louisiana at Tian Lastra's home because our Java Petter was going to come and teach that. So I was like, what do I want to learn? So many options, so many great options. And so I mentioned TN, because I'm a professional member at International Center for Reiki Training, because I did my training, because she's an ICRT teacher.

Speaker 3:

I did my first and second level over again and then went to Glastonbury, met some great people. I still keep in contact with and we had our class and I remember being on, we were outside the Abbey, the Glastonbury Abbey, doing our Reiki in the tables and the one lady in the class they were doing Reiki for me I think William was at my head and Sheila and and no, I'm forgetting her name, we're doing Reiki and she was like your inner child wants to come out and play. I was like, okay, I didn't even at that point. I you know I've heard that before, but it's nothing I ever studied or experienced or inquired about, but it stuck with me and so that just stuck with me. I'm like, well, what is that? Even in our kid Reiki class I've mentioned that and the teachers were like, hey, we should add something in the manual that talks about that, because you know where is the inner child? Absolutely, Absolutely.

Speaker 3:

Absolutely so. I'm still learning more about that. So we had a great experience in Glastonbury. Um, william was wonderful, the grounds were wonderful and I didn't really know that much about energy. All I knew was I just kept getting drawn to Reiki and things of that nature. And my one friend I met there, she's kind of psychic and she said that every morning she'd go out. I mean, we were like my room was practically on a ley line, but she said she'd go out into the abbey, the ruins, and lay on the ley line every morning. I was like darn, I wish I would have known. Um, she's, she's a great person. Um.

Speaker 3:

So we did our, um, one of our master ignitions, inside stonehenge one night. And because you're not allowed inside Stonehenge anymore, there's barriers up, little ropes up and you can't go in. And still, you know, we had our circle and we had our ignition and it was all England, you know, cloudy and like that, and it was getting ready, the sun was getting ready to set and at right after our ignition the clouds broke at the horizon and it was the most gorgeous orange, beautiful sky. We were all just tickled pink. And in regards to the ignition, you know, I didn't feel anything or see anything or you know, it wasn't spectacular Like some people experience, but over all this time I don't worry about that anymore. Everybody's having their own experience. It's okay with what's happening with me. It's all in divine order.

Speaker 2:

Wonderful, what a beautiful experience. So would you say that you found Reiki, or Reiki found you?

Speaker 3:

I think we were doing a little dance together. Okay, very good, because I first heard about it when we lived in Hawaii. We went to the Unity Church of Diamond Head there on Oahu in Honolulu, and that's the first time I ever heard the word Reiki, because they had that was it's such a great church word Reiki. Because they had that was it's a such a great church. Um, they had days where people would set up with, you know, and offer their services and I saw that's the first time I've saw someone doing Reiki and but it was all so new to me then I mean there's a lot of information coming in from um. So, yeah, even in class with William, at the end he's like who's who's going to teach? And I'm like put my hand up and that's just the way it goes, you know you were, you were called to it Wonderful.

Speaker 2:

You've been on this journey, uh, this healing journey, for a few years now. So, with all your experience, what is a common misperception about your work?

Speaker 3:

Common misperception? That's a good question. I wish there was someone here that didn't know Reiki to answer that. But I think there's just such. You know, after all these years and all the experience I do have and all the books and videos and people and all this information coming in, especially nowadays, oh my gosh, I think it's okay not to know. It's just okay not to know there's so much to know and that I guess maybe the common misperception might be that it's not natural and it's only natural. And it's taken me a while, you know, to face my own judgments and fears and misunderstandings, to come to a place where I fully accept it and embrace it and know Reiki as source energy. I mean, it's been a huge healing and growth curve, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Wonderful, well as that huge healing in your life. What is something that you wished your younger self knew about this current profession?

Speaker 3:

Hmm well, I wish I knew it existed for starters. Um, you know, I of course, we're all source consciousness, um, and we are all on that journey to rediscover who we are. As you know, that spirit, and I just feel like I've just had this burning desire in my heart all my life towards that, but not knowing what that was. So like I remember hearing about Maharishi when I was, I don't know, a teenager. And you know, it's just interesting, there are no wrong choices. We've established that.

Speaker 2:

No, wrong path yeah.

Speaker 3:

But it's fascinating what presents itself to you in life and what choices you make. They're all choices, whether you make them or not. Um, so I'm I don't judge, yeah, my path. Um, I think I'm right where I need to be. Um, I don't think I could have learned it any sooner. It might've been more painful, I don't know.

Speaker 2:

Absolutely, absolutely. So with that, what has been the biggest challenge you have faced in your profession?

Speaker 3:

I guess, my own fears. Really, I went home and made a PowerPoint and just started teaching, invited, you know, friends whoever would come over, and and I think I did that to avoid getting stuck in any kind of fear, you know, because what did I know? I mean, honestly, that is the fear of most people who start Reiki, like who am I? I mean, what do I know? It's all so new, but you just got to jump in and go and trust, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Trust the process Wonderful. So when it's time for you to get your energetic tune up, or when you are choosing a master teacher to get your training from, what qualities do you look for in a Reiki practitioner or a Reiki master teacher?

Speaker 3:

Well, you, it is just a, you know a vibe. It could be a picture, because pictures have energetic qualities. Of course it looks. You know someone with similar, well, I would say similar ideas, but um bigger qualities. Something I'm searching for, something you know, take me up in growth, um experience.

Speaker 2:

Beautiful so what?

Speaker 3:

advice would you give someone who's just entering this profession? Oh, have fun, don't take yourself too serious, just learn. Just find your teacher, learn and practice. Just practice on yourself. Um, you don't have to go in business, you don't have to do it, um, for money, I think. I think that is something I might still struggle with honestly wanting to be of service and do it as a gift and then going, well, I am in business, right, right, but it's just such a wonderful gift and all the people that don't know what Reiki is and experience are blown away. They really are. They're like, wow, I had no idea, and that's like their first experience into the non-physical and the unknown and they're like it's like they have a little rebirth and they didn't even know it.

Speaker 2:

Wonderful, so what books do you recommend?

Speaker 3:

Oh, my Books by our Java Petter are pretty awesome. I have them right here actually when, when, um, after I teach my class, I send out an email and then it has a list of books in there, because these are great okay, hatashi healing manual.

Speaker 3:

Always good to have that one yeah wonderful I just took a jinkied and reiki class with tadao yamaguchi. This is a new book and Amanda was yeah, amanda was there. She's one of the co-authors in England. Jackie and I just went and took that class. Jiki Den Reiki class this is an awesome book.

Speaker 2:

This is Reiki Wonderful.

Speaker 3:

Spirit of Reiki, I mean. And then there's, you know, hundreds of other books.

Speaker 2:

Hundreds of other books Very good, very good. Just a few Wonderful, wonderful. So what other modalities do you offer? Do you offer?

Speaker 3:

Well, I don't use crystals when I do Reiki, I'm just learning more about those. So you know I'm hesitant to. I think Reiki is wonderful and you know, when I do Reiki, like we're all taught, we step out of the way and allow that pure Reiki energy to flow. So I honestly in my heart, feel like I don't need to do anything while I'm doing Reiki. It I just it. Just that's how it feels for me. Sure Wonderful, because Reiki knows what is needed, where it's needed and why it's needed, and I don't need to know any of that stuff. That's, personally, how I come um approach it.

Speaker 2:

Wonderful and there's no wrong way to do it. You make it your own, absolutely, absolutely. Do you offer any classes online in person?

Speaker 3:

I do offer classes online. I do live in Germany currently and really the probably the only place I could do classes, and in person, would be with the military community, which is a great community, and that's actually where I want to probably teach my first kid Reiki class, because you know, they're English speaking and I do not speak German. Um, so yeah, I do, I do online.

Speaker 2:

Okay. So Zooey Holy Fire and Kit Kit, you do kid Reiki online.

Speaker 3:

No, no, no, no, no that would. That would definitely have to be in person for me. I think online would be a zoo for me. I mean, some people could pull it off, but not me Very good.

Speaker 2:

So where can we find you? How can we get in touch with you If we would like to book a session? Take one of your trainings?

Speaker 3:

You can go to renaissancerakeycom.

Speaker 2:

Beautiful, beautiful. So this concludes our journey of our questions, and we're going to go right on and continue on our journey to social media questions. So I have three social media questions for you that we had listeners send in, and so I narrowed it down to the three questions. So here we go. Your first question is is it better to do a Reiki treatment hands on or hands off? If there's one you prefer, is there one more than the other?

Speaker 3:

Is there one more than the other? Well, I don't, personally. I don't feel like one's better than the other. They're both equally effective. I mean, distance Reiki is effective. I could send Reiki and I have been sending Reiki to my brother, michael. Um, you know, they feel it, it. It makes a difference. Um, personally, I think I prefer for myself, for hands-on. I just like the connection like that, and most clients do as well. So that would be my answer. I prefer hands-on, perfect.

Speaker 2:

All right. Our second question. I read that you serve as a volunteer for the Red Cross offering Reiki sessions to wounded soldiers. How can Reiki help wounded soldiers?

Speaker 3:

Well, first of all, I've been doing that for a couple of years at the TBI clinic, traumatic Brain Injury Clinic, on Longst stool at the regional health care facility and um. So I go out in the waiting room and I call their name and we go in where I'm going to do reiki and um. So I ask them so do you know what reiki? And I've never met anyone who knows what Reiki is. But these soldiers come from all over Europe, africa, the Middle East. They're coming all over from everywhere and Ukraine, and some of them don't even speak English and there's an interpreter.

Speaker 3:

So a couple of them I thought Reiki was my last name, because when they got, when they signed up for it, it was Teresa and Reiki. So that just shows you the scope of you know people that don't know what Reiki is, shows you the scope of you know people that don't know what Reiki is. So when they get Reiki, every single one of them you know after the session because I do an hour at least and I tell them to take their time afterwards and after the session they sit up slowly and they're like, wow, I have never experienced anything like that and that's so satisfying One because I didn't do it, that source energy flowing through me to them doing whatever it is they need, which every time just brings me so much joy. It surprises me every time. It's really cool. And what was your question?

Speaker 2:

Because I haven't answered it yet your question because I haven't answered it yet.

Speaker 3:

Well, it was. How can Reiki benefit wounded soldiers? Okay, thank you. So I think the fact that the Reiki energy flowing lowers the brainwaves from like beta to alpha, to theta, I think that's the most benefit, because I've had, you know, some of those people be like man. I haven't felt that relaxed and I just don't know when.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, reducing stress, yeah.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, very beneficial.

Speaker 2:

Very good. Our third question and last question is what has been the most surprising thing that Kid Reiki has taught you?

Speaker 3:

Well, it's made me more aware of my inner child and that childhood wonder that they taught us about I don't know. It's almost like a little more attention has been placed on the inner child, which has its own little energy. It's kind of giddy and uplifting. So I think that would be the most, the most prevalent thing kid Reiki's taught me, and just to be more present and listen better really with kids and not try to control. No, I haven't taught. I'm going to be teaching my kid Reiki class soon, but I think I'm glad it hasn't happened because I scheduled it twice and it hasn't worked out. But it's given me time to sit with it and I'll be better prepared, even though I haven't taught it yet.

Speaker 1:

I'll be so better prepared, having, you know, just played with it.

Speaker 2:

you know, in my Very good, you would like to share or, as we've been talking, maybe you forgot to mention that you would just like to take this time now to talk about or share with our listeners.

Speaker 3:

That's a nice big, open question. I just want everybody to know that they're love and light and that's all that we are and all the things that you know that happened in the past and now and people worry about the future is just not necessary to think about. I mean, we can learn and grow from things. I'm not saying that. But you know, just embrace this now moment, embrace who you are. You're right where you need to be. You're a divine, spiritual being and your presence matters. You matter right where you are right now. So embrace it and shine your light, make the world a better place. We're all healers I mean, love is what heals and we're all love and light. So just embrace that.

Speaker 2:

Well, thank you, teresa, so much. This ends our journey together on Ready Set Ready. I really appreciate you taking your time to share your wisdom with our listeners. Thank you so much.

Speaker 3:

Oh, you're very welcome. Thank you so much, it's been an honor. Thank you All. Oh, you're very welcome. Thank you so much. It's been an honor. Thank you.
