Everybody, welcome back to the Bible Breakdown Podcast with your host, pastor Brandon, today. Isaiah, chapter two. Today's title is God's Future is Bright. God's future is bright. We're gonna get to all that in just a moment. I want to open with me to Isaiah, chapter 2. I want to encourage you, if you missed yesterday's podcast, to go back and listen to the introduction to the book of Isaiah. A lot of people don't read the book of Isaiah because it's written in that apocalyptic, you know poetic kind of prose and so it kind of throws us off because we don't really read that kind of stuff anymore. But if we get in our minds that it's written in a poetic form but it's written in a poetic form in ancient Hebrew, so it doesn't translate quite as well in English. So we have to kind of understand what's going on, we begin to realize that what God is doing is the nation is turning away from him. It's turning away from him and because of that they're suffering and they're struggling, and the Assyrian Empire and the Babylonian Empire and all these other empires are rising up against them and it's not going well, and there's political unrest, there's social unrest, there's just spiritual decay, and not that unlike our current generation, right. But what's amazing is God has raised up Isaiah and he's calling the people back to himself and he's not giving up on them. And so Isaiah is a wonderful example about. Even when bad things are happening, god is saying I've still got a big idea for you, still got a big idea for you. So I'm excited to see what God's word continues to say to us and how we can continue to move forward with God's word, because when we realize that God says the same thing to us, we realize the future is bright when we turn back to God. So if you're ready, let's read this together.

Isaiah, chapter 2, verse 1, says this this is the vision of Isaiah, son of Amos, concerning Judah and Jerusalem. In the last days, the mountains of the Lord will be the highest of all, the most important place on earth. It will be raised above other hills and the people from all over the world will stream there to worship. People from many nations will come and say come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, the house of Jacob's God. There he will teach us his ways and we will walk in his paths. For the Lord's teachings will go out from Zion, his word will go out from Jerusalem. The Lord will meditate, mediate between the nations, and he will settle international disputes. They will hammer their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will no longer fight against nation, nor train for war anymore. Now pause. This is one of the first of the messianic prophecies that Isaiah is saying one day in the kingdom of God, there'll be no more war. God will bring peace to all. So there's a gold nugget there saying one day in the kingdom of God, there'll be no more war. God will bring peace to all. So there's a gold nugget there of one day, the messianic prophecy the king will come and he'll bring justice to all.

Verse five come, descendants of Jacob. Let us walk in the light of the Lord, for the Lord has rejected his people, the descendants of Jacob, because they have filled their land with the practices from the east and with the sorcerers, as the Philistines do. They have made alliances with pagans. Israel is full of silver and gold. There is no end to its treasure. Their land is full of war horses. There is no end to its chariots. The land is full of idols. The people worship things that they have made with their own hands. So now they will be humbled. They will be brought low. Do not forgive them. Crawl into caves and in the rocks, hide in the dust. For the Lord's terror, for the terror of the Lord and the glory of his majesty. Human pride will be brought down and human arrogance will be humbled. Only the Lord will be exalted on the day of judgment, for the Lord of heaven exalted on the day of judgment, for the Lord of heaven's armies has a day of reckoning. He will punish the proud and mighty. He will bring down everything that is exalted. He will cut down the tall cedars of Lebanon and the mighty oaks of Bashan. He will level the high mountains and all the lofty hills. He will break down every high tower and every fortified wall. He will destroy all the great trading ships and every magnificent vessel. Human pride will be humbled and human arrogance will be brought down. Only the Lord will be exalted on the day of judgment. Idols will completely disappear.

When the Lord rises to shake the earth, his enemies will crawl into holes in the ground and they will hide in caves and in rocks from the terror of the Lord and the glory of his majesty. On that day of judgment, they will abandon the gold and silver idols that they have made for themselves to worship. They will leave their gods to the rodents and the bats. They will crawl away into caverns and hide among the jagged rocks and the cliffs. They will try to escape from the terror of the Lord and the glory of his majesty as he rises to shake the earth. Don't put your trust in mere humans, for they are as frail as breath. What good are they? So you see, isaiah is calling the people come back to the Lord.

God's got a big idea for you, but if you turn away from him, judgment will come. So don't do that. What can we say with that? Today, I think the truth is still the same, and that is for every single one of us. God's got a big idea for you. God wants you to be part of his kingdom. He wants you to rule and reign with him one day in that millennial kingdom. He has a great future in store for you, but the Bible does say that one day, every knee will bow, every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord. You can either do it now or you can do it later. Why not do it now?

Can I ask you this question Are you where you need to be with God? Are you following him or have you strayed away? Have you gone to another place? And maybe because of that, you're experiencing some judgment in your life? You're experiencing some difficult times Now. Not always when we go through difficult times, is it because we've walked away from God? Sometimes we can be right where we need to be with God and we still go through hard times, but sometimes we reap the consequences of bad decisions. Is that where you are today? If you are, why not take a moment as we end the podcast and, just course, correct yourself and come back to the Lord?

God, I want that big idea for you that you have for me. I ask you to wash away my sins, make me clean, help me to come back close to you, because I want to be where you are. Let's pray together right now. God, thank you so much for your word. Thank you that, because you love us, you call us over and over again back to yourself. I'm thankful that your word is true and that because of your word we can find forgiveness. I pray, god, that you'll wash away our sin, that you'll bring us close to you, so, god, we can rule and reign with you one day. We're thankful for who you are. In Jesus name, we pray Amen. Well, god's word says in Isaiah, chapter 12, god has come to save me. I will trust in him and not be afraid. The Lord, my God, is my strength and my song, and he has given me victory. Let's return to the Lord with all we have and watch what God can do. I love you. I'll see you tomorrow for Isaiah, chapter 3.
