Abandonment and neglect are often far worse than outright abuse. While abuse may harm our body, abandonment sinks deep within our soul and can change who we are meant to be.

If you are dealing with issues of abandonment or neglect from childhood trauma or things that have happened in your adult life, please remember 2 Corinthians 4:8-10 "We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed."

Common signs for you to look for in yourself if you feel you may have abandonment issues are:

* Being a people pleaser

* Being jealous of or over your partner

* Not trusting your partner's intentions

* Constantly feeling insecure in your relationships

* Difficulty with intimacy

* Needing to control or be controlled by a partner

I also explored-in this Podcast-the story in the book of Nehemiah when he lead the Jewish people to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem and the obstacles they faced in the midst of God's great blessing in allowing them to rebuild long abandoned walls in 52 days.
