Mike McClernon is the owner and operator of Assisted Living Locators of Long Island. Mike brings a long and varied work history to his role helping seniors and families find the right match in Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Independent Living on Long Island. He has worked for medical companies such as J&J, Baxter, National Healthcare, and Columbia/HCA Hospital Corporation, all of which imparted critical aspects of training on the physical progression of aging, disease and therapy management, and the emotional journey taken by seniors and their families. Most of Mike's work involved homecare and non-hospital based therapies, and good training ground for helping families examine their options for senior living.
Mike was a successful CEO for four companies, including a leading national provider of technical services. As a senior executive, Mike gained valuable experience which helps him guide families as they work through the important financial and legal aspects of Placement. Importantly, Mike has been through the placement process himself, with his own parents. It is that experience, which was both positive and frustrating, that led him to Senior Placement as a full-time job. Mike lives in Glen Cove, NY with his longtime partner Liz and two great rescue dogs, Lucy and Maggie.
