Body Positivity, Body Neutrality, Body Competence: What's the difference?
Apr 29, 2023 Season 1 Episode 1
Michelle Zagardo

In this episode, I introduce what I think of as body competence and share part of my own body story. I talk about what it's like to be a mom in eating disorder recovery and the parenting challenges that have come up in recent months.

I also answer follower questions including:
- How/when did you meet your husband?
- What is the best thing your husband can do for you when you're having a bad day with narcolepsy?
- What do you do for exercise and how do you relax?
- How do you want to parent your daughter and what do you want her to know?
- What made you realize you wanted to go back to school?
- What was your journey like to get to where you are today?

*Since recording this episode, I learned that anti-fat bias and anti-fatness are terms that fat people prefer instead of fatphobia because it more accurately describes the prejudice that fat people face, versus the implication of fatphobia that there is a psychological disorder.
