Out of the 26 episodes that were launched weekly in 2023, we've come up with five unique awards. Including host's choice and people's choice. The first award is for best podcast ensemble. And this award goes to the most popular episode, featuring a group of hosts and the winner is. Episode 10 time saving tips for managing mental health and primary care with doctors, Wendy supple ski. Kim Delporto and Chanley Dudley. And this episode was chosen because these primary care pediatricians who have been dealing with mental health problems for many decades, between the three of them really validated the challenges that many of us face in taking care of kids and teens with mental health problems. And in addition to that during this conversation, We really talked about strategies for practical things you can do. To address the volume and the complexity of many of these cases. Dr. Peggy Greco and I tackle difficult conversations. That we often have with parents. While the framework was about talking with parents about weight and health. I think a lot of the principles apply to other subjects as well. And Dr. Peggy Greco is. q, fantastic guest and really is my go-to person when I'm facing my own difficult and challenging conversations, whether it's with parents, patients, family members, friends, whoever. This episode really forced me to brush up my knowledge on genetics and to do a lot of research before, during, and after the release of this particular episode so that I could personally better understand more information about the genetic risk of autism. And Dr. John Constantino did a really great job of breaking down the concepts of poly genic risk for autism to Novo and germline mutations. And most importantly, the practical implications for understanding genetic testing in kids with autism and practical implications for their family members.
Dr. Elise Fallucco:We have two more awards to give out. This next award. It's a little bit of a host's choice award. So this award is for the podcast that really taught me the most. And this award goes to episode 20, which is what causes temper tantrums in preschool aged kids with Dr. Joyce Harrison. And in this episode, Dr. Harrison shares a differential diagnosis approach to thinking through a kid's temper tantrums and deciding whether they're normal versus pathologic, and then how to ask the right questions, using a specific framework to determine what in particular could be causing the tantrum. And if there's something we need to be doing to identify and. Intervene. And finally our last. Award is the people's choice award.
