Follow along in an open King James Bible as Brother Scott Evans teaches on the word, bondage, found throughout scripture.  And as always, like the noble Bereans, search the scriptures to see if what I am teaching is true. Don't just take my word for it.
Grace and Peace to you and yours.

I hope you enjoyed this episode of Brother Scott's Look in the Book, and most of all, I pray you learned from it and that it helped you dive deeper into God's word, which he places above his very name.
(Psalm 138:2 KJV) (2) I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

God gives us instruction on how to study our Bibles:
(2 Timothy 2:15 KJV) (15) Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Please do not only go by what I say, but do the work and study for yourself.
"Anything I can talk you into, someone else can talk you out of."

Hi! This is brother Scott with another Truth Time, Look in the Book!
Today is part 7 in my series, “Bible Key Words and Meanings A to Z.”
We continue with the letter “B.”
The word today is:

Bondage

The law is bondage.
Many today want to keep you under bondage in order to control you.
To make you believe you need them and their false messages of salvation Sunday after Sunday.
To keep filling their pews.
But:
(Romans 8:15-17 KJV)
(15) For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
(16) The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
(17) And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

So how does one break free from bondage?
Well, here’s where to start. This is what shines a light which exposes the darkness of the deceivers:
(2 Timothy 2:15 KJV)
(15) Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

That will assist you in not allowing anyone to ensnare and place you back under a yoke
of bondage that was never meant for you to live under.

When you compare scripture with scripture, you will discover that the law has nothing to do with you or me.
You will discover that:
*You are a new creature
*God reconciled himself to you by Jesus Christ
*You have been given the ministry of reconciliation
*God is not imputing your trespasses unto you
*You are an ambassador for Christ
*You are to be reconciled to God
*God made Christ, who knew no sin, to be sin for you
*You might be made the righteousness of God in him.

You will be free from the bondage of trying to get your sins forgiven, because you will discover that they already were forgiven 2,000 years ago at the cross.
These truths are found in:
(2 Corinthians 5:17-21 KJV)
(17) Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
(18) And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
(19) To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
(20) Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
(21) For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

When you're saved, you are dead to the law, and no longer under the bondage of religious rule keepers.
You have been freed from the bondage.
We are currently living in the Ephesians 3:2 dispensation of the grace of God.
(Ephesians 3:2 KJV)
(2) If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:

When you experience the freedom of grace and liberty, you will never again be taken in by legalistic bondage like Paul rebuked the Galatians for doing:
(Galatians 4:8-9 KJV)
(8) Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods.
(9) But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?

Instead, you will be set free in order to:
(Galatians 5:1 KJV)
(1) Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

Be exceedingly thankful to be free from bondage to go about your everyday life in liberty!

So, before I go, please hear me out. Life on this earth is short.
(James 4:14 KJV)
(14) Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

How many times have you asked yourself, “Where did that last 10 years go? Or 20, or 30, or 40 years, etc.

And now you have THE two most important questions in life to ponder:
Forever be with the Lord, or tribulation, judgment, and wrath?
So how can I be saved, you ask?
Please listen carefully to the word of God:
(Eph 1:12-13 KJV)
(12) That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
(13) In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

And what is the gospel of your salvation?
Notice the words, “the gospel,” in verse 1 that our apostle Paul declares unto us:
(1 Co 15:1-4 KJV)
(1) Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
(2) By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
(3) For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
(4) And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

(2 Co 6:2 KJV) (2) (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

We all need hope to get through this life, because it can be difficult at times for all of us.
So, look at the hope you will be able to look forward to, but only if you are saved:

(1Th 4:13-18 KJV)
(13) But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
(14) For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
(15) For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
(16) For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
(17) Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
(18) Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Finally, God himself longs for each and every one of us to be saved:
(1Ti 2:4 KJV) (4) Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Please don’t delay. Today is the day of your salvation… if you so choose!
