However, we will highlight the nuanced differences between the medical field (Dr. Heather- Addiction Physician) and those with the disease of addiction (Josh- Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist). Episodes will not only bring you the specifics of addiction including the neurobiology of addiction and how that translates into the 'real world' but they will also bring you interviews from individuals in early or long-term recovery, therapists, family members, friends, clergy, treatment providers and so much more! April is alcohol awareness month! This episode will begin our multi-episode series of Alcohol 101, with what defines 'drinking too much'. We will discuss the data in terms of how many people are affected by alcohol use disorder and how much it financially impacts all of our country. Finally, we will talk about how one would know if they are at risk of developing an alcohol use disorder.
