Speaker 1:

This morning I wanted to share a guiding meditation titled Finding the Breath. Finding the Breath. The body is always breathing and the breath is constantly moving. Your breath is not the only place to start. It is a constant you can return to anytime. You need a little centering In this practice. You will gently find the breath in the body. There is nothing to figure out, there are no problems to solve and there's nothing special you need to do. Constantly return to your direct experience of the body breathing. You are training the mind to be with one experience without distraction. You are training the mind to be with one experience without distraction.

Speaker 1:

Find a comfortable position for the body. Sitting is often recommended as it helps keep the body awake and energized. You can also try laying flat on your back or standing. You may sit on a yoga mat, meditation cushion or chair. Find what feels comfortable and sustainable for a few minutes of stillness. Gently allow the eyes to close. If you're more comfortable with the eyes open, try softly gazing at the floor or ceiling, depending on your position position. Allow the eyes to relax and rest on one spot. The idea is to minimize distractions in your practice.

Speaker 1:

Bring your awareness to the abdomen, Relaxing the muscles there. See if you can feel the natural raising and fall. Imagine the body is breathing itself From the navel around to the obliques. Notice the movement with each breath. Breathe. Take a few breaths like this. Move your awareness up to the chest as you inhale. Tune into the expansion of the lungs and the raising of the chest as you exhale. Feel the contraction and movement. See if you can follow the feeling of breathing from the beginning of your inhale through the end of your exhale. Now bring your attention to the nostrils. The feeling of the breath may be more subtle here. Try taking a deep breath to see what is present for you. You may notice a slight tickle at the top of the nose as you breathe in. You may notice that the breath is slightly warmer on the body.

Speaker 1:

Breathing in one of these three spots, when the mind wanders, refocus on the direct experience of the breath. Breathe. Continue to observe the breath for a minute or two, okay, Okay. So wrapping up this period of practice. Bring awareness with you. Bring this awareness with you into your daily life. Stay in touch with the breath in your body to help the mind remain present. Namaste, Good morning. Today's podcast is on the benefits of toning the sacred vows. So the sacred chakra vows have many benefits to bring you back into your body and to heal you, and I always like to spend the morning toning and just take a deep breath, Plant your feet into the ground, and go, take a deep breath, plant, plant your feet into the ground and go, you, you, u, u, o, o, oh, oh, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, e, e, ah e e e, e, e, e, I, I, I, I, I, I, I I.

Speaker 1:

I, and then taking three deep cleansing breaths, and then taking three deep cleansing breaths, and like every time that I do that, I feel more centered into my body, more connected to the earth around me. I I feel like planted into the earth and, uh, totally in in my body and it's just, it's just a short practice. I mean you can, you can do it for like a minute. I mean you can do it for like a minute, you could do it for seven minutes and the benefits are amazing. Then there's also toning and chanting. Aum Aum is one of the sacred mantras that brings peace to your body and brings you into the present moment. So tone A om with me, Om.

Speaker 2:

Om, om, om, om, om, om, om, om, om, om, om Aum.

Speaker 1:

Aum, aum, aum, and I feel really peaceful when I do that and centered in my body and it's just, it's an amazing practice.

Speaker 1:

I was reading this book on the benefits of humming and chanting and there's scientific evidence that proves that toning and chanting for like five minutes a day has tremendous health benefits can calm you down, release anxiety, depression, connect you to your breath, into your body and bring you back into the present moment, and I really encourage you to develop this practice. I've seen the health benefits as a first degree black belt, as healing post-traumatic stress and grief, and it's just, it's a form of self-care. It's a great way to take care of yourself. It's just like five minutes a day. The benefits are amazing. It brings peace into your life, into your body, and gives you time to breathe and connect to yourself, to your spirit, to your purpose, to what you want to bring into your life. I mean, and you can even you don't, even if those aren't your things you can make funny noises like Ooh, ooh, ah, ah, ooh, ooh ah, ah, ooh, ooh, brrrr, brrrr, ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba brrrr, brrrr.

Speaker 1:

I mean. All of those have benefits and can make you laugh and lighten up the moment, which is what you know, which is what this is all about is being able to to shut off the thoughts in your brain for for like five minutes and and connect to your spirit, I mean, and then you can go me and then you can go, and it cracks me up when I do that.

Speaker 1:

It's just a way to lighten everything up and bring peace into your life. So if you want to join me again, another mantra that I like to tone is OM MANI PADNE HOM. So if you want, stand up or sit down and sink your feet into the earth and go.

Speaker 4:

Aum Mani Padme Hum, aum Mani Padme Hum, om Mani Padme Hum.

Speaker 1:

May I have compassion for myself, may I have compassion for all, for all living beings no-transcript.

Speaker 3:

No-transcript.

Speaker 1:

I wanted to share a poem from my book Journey Into the Sacred. It's titled North Star. To my North Star, you have been my guide through the darkest of nights and the brightest of days. You have been my home when I was lost and wondering. You are my North Star. You have been my strength when I was lost and wondering. You are my North Star. You have been my strength when I was weak. You have been my shelter in the storm. You have been my light in the darkness. You are my North Star. You have been my comfort when I was grieving. You have been my joy and sorrow. You have been my hope when all seemed lost. You are my North Star. You were my anchor when the seas were rough. You were my sail when the winds were high. You were my compass when I was lost, you being my North Star.

Speaker 1:

So next I wanted to share my guided meditation called North Star. Your North Star is your compass. It is what guides you on your path. It is your dream and your aspiration. It is what gives you direction and keeps you moving forward. In this guided meditation, we will connect with our north stars and use their power to guide us on our path. We will find our strength and our compassion when we raise our vibration and find harmony within ourselves and allow and we will follow our dreams within ourselves. And allow and we will follow our dreams.

Speaker 1:

This meditation is for anyone who is looking for guidance and direction. It is for anyone who wants to find their North Star and follow their dreams North Star. So, if you are ready to embark on a journey of self-discovery and clarity, find a quiet and comfortable place close to your eyes, take a deep breath and let's begin. Visualize yourself standing on a vast deserted plain surrounded by towering mountains in the distance. The sky above you are infinite and clear and the air around you is pure and fresh. Take a moment to soak in the beauty and stillness of this place. As you stand there, become aware of a star hovering above you. It shines bright and radiant, casting a warm and gentle light upon your face. This is your north Star, your compass, your guide.

Speaker 1:

Now we call a dream or aspiration you have for your life. It can be anything, big or small. Allow yourself to fully immerse in it. Fill it with all your senses, no-transcript, and let it take you where you need to go. Know that the path ahead may not always be smooth and easy. There may be obstacles and challenges along the way, but your North Star is always there to guide you. It will help you navigate through rough waters, climb steep mountains and find your way through the darkest of nights. As you continue to follow your North Star, feel your vibration rising and your heart opening up to love and compassion. Know that your North Star is helping you not only to reach your goals, but also to become the best version of yourself.

Speaker 1:

Take a deep breath and feel the energy and power of your North Star filling you up. Know that you are never alone on your journey and you will have everything within you to make your dreams a reality. When you are ready, slowly open your eyes, Feel the ground beneath your feet and take your first step towards your North Star. Trust in its guiding light and follow your heart with courage and grace.
