Fix the World

Episode 14, Peace and War

Doug

Peace is a state of contentment. War precludes this, but the absence of war does not ensure peace. Soon, hopefully, war will end in Palestine, and a United College Plan for Enduring Peace in Palestine is begging for attention in MOMS Blog. But it's a misnomer. No one find contentment just because the shooting stops. Even after the dead are buried and the war memories fade, if there is war anywhere, it must preclude peace everywhere. And, currently, there is war in Russia and Ukraine, Ethiopia and Eritrea, Yemen and Saudi Arabia, and elsewhere. War ranks with hunger, poverty, illiteracy, exploitation, disease, and climate change as the conspicuous reasons our world needs fixing. Even if war were removed from this list, the other reasons would preclude peace until they also are removed. Removing them all can seem impossible. But achieving this impossible dream is all that can make true peace, and all that can make meaning of your life. So, fix the world.
