The Conversations with Leaders in Public Health podcast is presented by the Heartland Center, located in the College for Public Health and Social Justice on the campus of Saint Louis University.

In this episode, the Heartland Centers Director and SLU CPHSJ Master of Health Administration Program Director, Dr. Kimberly Enard, sat down with Emily Goodin.

Emily Goodin discusses her experience as an administrator of a small county health department during the COVID-19 pandemic. She gives advice to administrators looking to establish emergency preparedness practices and how to overcome challenges with building the infrastructure for emergency response.

Emily Goodin is the Administrator for the Butler County Health Department in Poplar Bluff MO. Emily started at the health department in 2004 as a Health Educator /  Emergency Response Planner, becoming the Administrator in April 2020. Emily has worked several local emergencies: floods, H1N1, and most recently the COVID 19 pandemic.
