Glitter and Glow Podcast Season 2 Ep 1

 [00:00:00]

Christian: // Welcome to glitter and glow. This is officially the second season,

Alyssa: Season two! Season

Christian: and we are definitely going to switch things up quite a bit,

Alyssa: right? A lot. We're serious, guys. We're like serious this

Christian: So this time we're a little bit more serious.

There's more banter. And if you don't like banter, don't, it's not the podcast for you. If you want information, if you want some other stuff, don't listen to this podcast, because we're just going to go back and forth and you're basically just listening into a conversations that we have every single day after work.

Alyssa: have

Christian: content

for years at this point. Here we are season two, so let's see what this new season brings us First of all, I don't know how I got out of the friend zone, but I know I was in the friend zone for

Alyssa: I like how we were just talking about this yesterday, in a random Wendy's.

Christian: Yeah, we That's right, we were [00:01:00] in Wendy's and we're just sitting there talking about how I was friend zoned And then I'm the only guy who has successfully got out of the friend zone.

Alyssa: Not the only guy, there are other guys. You just don't hear about it often. Or at least I haven't. If you're somebody who's gotten out of the friend zone, please tell us your story.

Christian: Cause we want to know

Alyssa: we want to know. We may feature it on the podcast too.

Christian: featured on the podcast. And yeah, we're going to have to collab and then create some kind of Ebook and then

Alyssa: would be really cool.

Christian: yeah, we

Alyssa: Oh, there's an idea.

Christian: get out of the friend zone.

Alyssa: Give them like a guide.

Christian: Yeah. Don't be needy and stick around for a very long time.

Alyssa: There is hope guys. Maybe we'll put, we'll put our email in the comment section or in the,

Christian: What is our email?

Alyssa: wow. Okay. It's glitter and glow at gmail. com, but it's glow with two O's. I think I got to double check on that one though.

Christian: spell the podcast? Is Glitter and Glow normal?

Alyssa: spell glitter and glow with [00:02:00] one O but our handles and Email is different. So I don't know if that's going to be an issue and we should change it now before we move forward.

But

Christian: I think it's a nice little quirk. Because there always has to be something fucked up. Anything that I work on, a little something has to be fucked up. with

Alyssa: know because I worked with you and I would tell you that if you would pay attention and do your job right, we wouldn't have so many

Christian: your job

Alyssa: Attention to detail is not

your

Christian: have some issues.

Attention to detail not your

Alyssa: You're okay now?

Christian: okay

Alyssa: You're a big picture person. I'm an attention to detail person.

Christian: I'm attention to detail person. Yeah, I know.

Alyssa: Yeah, I know. Your planning skills aren't there. Anyways, back to

Christian: Let's gloss that one over as I'm trying to look for a job right now and hopefully they never find this podcast where I

Alyssa: I'm trying

Christian: find attention to detail.

Alyssa: Oh, that would I would love, I would love an employer to bring up your podcast.

Christian: Oh my [00:03:00] God. Okay. There's the people that I work with at my contract. They know about this podcast. So if they subscribe

Alyssa: to this

Christian: they're going to get a notification.

Alyssa: not going to mention

Christian: to mention any

Alyssa: names. Because we're not going to

Christian: Because we're not going to name drop here, but

Alyssa: No, we're not. But, sometimes I do, I stop by and if they ever want to come out and ask me questions, embarrassing stories, I am ready to.

Christian: It's funny the other day we were having a conversation in the office and They were talking about crystals.

It's like crystals you go to the crystal shop or whatever. And then one of my coworkers said, So does your girlfriend believe in crystals? I'm like, I think she does. She has crystals. She says, do they work? I said, no. They don't, they don't work. Cause she's still a crazy bitch.

Alyssa: Fuck you. That's messed up.

Christian: And They, start laughing. I thought it was funny.

Alyssa: [00:04:00] they didn't question you like why you said that?

Christian: No. I said she needs all the help she could get.

Alyssa: did not say that. You said

Christian: I did. I say that I just added that right now for the

Alyssa: don't believe you.

Christian: Yeah. You chose me.

Alyssa: I don't believe you. Yeah, I chose you. This is the path I chose and I guess I gotta stick with

Christian: This is the path you chose.

Alyssa: I always do have an option in New York.

Christian: Apparently you're trying to get pimped out.

Alyssa: let's just let's talk about that real quick. So My grandfather died recently and I was at his Memorial service.

It was more of like a celebration of his life And I happened to meet A family member, we'll just say that. A family member that I'm not, very close with. Didn't grow up around them or that side of the family. But, you should know that we're not blood related. He is my step grandfather. That family, they are, technically a step family.

Christian: which definitely is a point of like

Alyssa: [00:05:00] opportunity, for this woman to try and pimp her son out to me because apparently I was like the perfect match for her son to marry and she continuously was coming over to the table to show me pictures of her son and the first time was she was very much like this is my son isn't he cute isn't he the most handsome I mean I gave it to her I said hey he's he's good looking like props to you for putting him out there you know But she kept telling me he was single, he makes a lot of money, and all I could do was laugh.

And I was like, wow I was thinking, and how consistent she was, that I don't think I'm very pretty, to be honest. But she just boosted my ego. I got options.

Christian: You got options.

Alyssa: Apparently.

But what was funny is that she continued to come back to the table where I was at and show me different pictures of her son.

Christian: How many times had she approached you?

Three.

times? Oh my god. Three

Alyssa: times because I tried to avoid her the other times.

Christian: push it hard. She

Alyssa: She was trying to push it hard. She started telling me how much money [00:06:00] he makes, where he lives. It's in a city. Okay, the city that I want to be in, but

Christian: let's see, six figures?

Okay, six

Alyssa: over six figures. Over.

Christian: okay. Continue. Yeah. Nice apartment.

apartment, prestigious college.

Alyssa: college.

He went to nice big city area. The nicest area in that city. And, she was also pulling up pictures of her family and saying, this would be your family. She was telling my aunt that I was perfect and that she's trying to get me to marry her son. And we're family, but we're not family like that, so it's okay.

I thought it was the most hilarious thing. And, and when she said that I had a boyfriend, or that I had a love, she said, no, no, she doesn't. No loves. She doesn't have a love. No, no.

She's trying to deny your whole existence. That's what you get for not coming with me.

Christian: Hey, I was in Mississippi,

Alyssa: know, your way.

Christian: but by the way, If I was a woman and some other woman like approached me and said, Hey, my [00:07:00] son, this, this, and that, and he's a six figures prestigious school.

I'll edit that out. Oh my God. And makes six figures. I'm sorry, but,

Alyssa: But you're leaving? Huh? The person that you're with?

Christian: with? No, no,

were single? If I

Alyssa: I was single? I don't know. It's a little too close. I may have not grown up with that family, but I've been around

Christian: it's weird because you also have those, the genes that your grandfather has, or he had.

The characteristics whatever. That'd be weird, strange. That'd be weird. It's almost like you're dating your grandfather.

No, not your, Not

Alyssa: looks more like my cousins.

Christian: Okay, then, then.

Alyssa: they would be like a

step cousin.

Christian: Yeah, but

Alyssa: I'd just rather have a second, third, or whatever, the order is. But they're like technically a cousin, and they look like my other cousins.

And what might they look like? What other family members, like uncles, and I'm sure like cousins, sons, whatever, of whomever.[00:08:00]

So it's the, the resemblance is just a little too much there for me. Even if I was single to be like, Oh, I don't know about that.

Christian: Like I don't know it's a little that's a little too hillbilly is for

Alyssa: for me,

Christian: You're getting a little you're getting you're touching the cusp of it

Alyssa: do.

It is step family. That's all I'm saying.

Christian: yeah, it definitely has

Alyssa: step family. And I didn't grow up around him,

Christian: Yeah,

Alyssa: but anyway, so it doesn't matter. Because I'm taken as I told her she would not take for an answer

Christian: Congratulations. You're with me.

Alyssa: I mean I did tell her that I needed to get away from this temptation Temptation and it was a big thing when I was like, I can't be tempted right now I need to get away from this temptation as my mom is laughing at me across the room because she walked away A while ago because she was like whatever this is hilarious.

I'm gonna walk

Christian: would be funny too. If I was, if I was with you, I would have walked away too.

Alyssa: Yeah, you would have walked away and

Christian: I would have been with your mom laughing at you because

Alyssa: my arm and my mom walked away and I was like, no, let me come [00:09:00] back.

Christian: I know how awkward things could get and you would be like like a deer in the headlights I don't know what to do.

I would enjoy that

Alyssa: She put her arm around me

Christian: I would laugh.

Alyssa: was holding me

Christian: I would tell her I'm her

Alyssa: She was trying to keep me here. Yeah, you

Christian: I would say I'm just her friend. I'm here for

Alyssa: Oh my god

Christian: I'm going to go with her mom. Hey, let's go watch in the corner. See what she does.

Alyssa: That's messed up.

Christian: I just

Alyssa: Anyway, so I was left there. But she was really nice. I just thought that was funny. I've never in my life, ever. But hey, boosted my ego a little

Christian: options. Yeah, options.

Alyssa: little bit. Don't act up because I got options.

Christian: don't have any options,

Alyssa: you waited years. We're in the friend zone. And then you got an opportunity and somehow you made it out.

Christian: it out. And then I swooped on

Alyssa: And then you swooped on in.

Christian: swooped on in. Oh my

Alyssa: But there were feelings before,

Christian: Yeah, there was. There was definitely a little something there, but yeah. Okay.

Your story kind of reminds me of something that happened to me years ago. So my dad [00:10:00] decided that, I don't know where the hell he's at. My, my dad was somewhere fixing his car or at a carwash or something. So he comes across this young, young woman.

Around

my around my age, around that time, maybe I'm going to say 23.

It's 23 years old. My dad comes back. He says, Hey son, check this out, check this out. There's this, there's this girl that I met. Here's her phone number and a picture of her.

Alyssa: of her.

Christian: And I'm like, what did you do? You're not supposed to do stuff like

Alyssa: do stuff like that.

like in her face or like from far away.

Christian: sure he gathered permission because obviously.

He got her phone number too.

Alyssa: Oh my gosh.

Christian: And he said, son, son, she's, she's cute. She's your

Alyssa: she's,

Christian: That was his pitch. Yes. She's your height. Perfect match.

Alyssa: Oh my god. Perfect match. That's all he knew about

Christian: Yeah. She's like height. Perfect. She's cute. Perfect. I got her phone number for you by the way. Text her. Cause she's expecting a text

Alyssa: or a call. Oh [00:11:00] my gosh. She might be crazy. Or a gold digger, but.

I

Christian: I don't know about gold digger because I ain't got shit.

Alyssa: know. You never

Christian: You never know. But.

I was like, I'm not going to do that. That's just so weird and

Alyssa: That's just so weird. Yeah, no. I

Christian: Yeah. No. I was like, that's not going to happen. I'm not going to do it. So

Alyssa: happen. And then I remember

Christian: point, I know. And then I remember when he was getting his surgeries, his surgeries done and he was getting in house care. And there was this nurse that would come in. She's about My age at that time. And of course, the selling point for my dad is, Oh, she's your height or shorter than you.

I don't know what is, I don't know what it was with my dad, but the selling point was, Oh, she's your height. What the hell? If

Alyssa: If you didn't know, now you know that Christian is shorter than me.

Christian: I am shorter than you. Not by much, but just a little bit. It's significant when you're wearing heels.

Alyssa: [00:12:00] It's significant when I'm not wearing heels. It is significant. You can, you can

Christian: see it, but it's not like significant Shaq versus

Alyssa: a few inches like different. I mean we're not like Kevin Hart and his wife, but

Christian: No, I say we're like Kevin Hart. We're like

Alyssa: not Kevin Hart and his wife.

See

Christian: you're wearing heels. Yeah. Anyway this nurse comes in, and she was a Filipina, and she would come in, I think, every day at 9 o'clock. And I would try to get out the house as soon as I could because I need to get the hell out of there so I can go to your dad's office so I can go to work.

But, it may have been before 9 o'clock because I never went into your

dad's

Alyssa: dad's office. Okay. I don't

Christian: No later than

Alyssa: but it sure as hell wasn't in the office, because I wasn't even there at 9 o'clock. I wasn't even there at 10 o'clock when I started.

Christian: That's true. I don't know where I went. I was just gone. Out the house. He would always say, hey, why don't you, why don't you date my son? He would tell her, why don't you date my son?

Isn't he cute? And, oh no, Mr. no. [00:13:00] But I think she did find me cute because she would always like smile and like

Alyssa: Maybe she was just being polite.

Christian: Maybe, oh maybe. I'm gonna be conceited. I don't get these

Alyssa: I can be conceded because I was called beautiful and gorgeous and

Christian: and perfect.

Alyssa: she was just smiling at you probably to be polite 'cause she felt awkward. Wait, is this the same nurse? She might have felt bad for you. She's oh, port though. Can't even find

Christian: Aw, poor Jessica. Can't myself. No. Wait, but is this the same

Alyssa: Wait, but is this the same nurse that sends your dad a cake every year for his birthday? Oh, okay. That's funny because you never mentioned her age.

Christian: Yeah, they

Alyssa: is

Christian: same age. They were about the same

Alyssa: that I'm hearing that her age was close to you because I was thinking that this nurse was like, I don't know why, but I was thinking, oh, they're probably like older, maybe not quite your parents age, but maybe closer to my parents or older than you, but that's interesting.

Christian: Yeah, but she keeps sending my dad happy birthdays and [00:14:00] I think Christmas gifts.

Alyssa: Aww,

Christian: And then like text messages for every holiday

Alyssa: love that.

Christian: Maybe she does like you

Alyssa: Maybe she does like you. She's trying to get in

Christian: with her. Probably. Oh my god.

Alyssa: One day she's going to be like, Hey, is your son still single?

Christian: say, hey Mrs.

I need my citizenship. That's it. That was a joke. Jesus Christ. this podcast, season two is way different from season one. it's fine. Can't help this. This is me.

Alyssa: Yeah, I know it's you. This is, this is the path I chose.

Christian: This is the Patsy Cho's as we're in a garage recording this podcast.

Alyssa: Yeah, it wasn't my first choice, but I guess it's what I

Christian: is the Patsy Cho's.

Okay, let's talk about the shit that was on your foot.

Alyssa: Oh, like the literal, like shit that was on my foot. . So we leave. No, because we were in that Wendy's and it smelled weird when we were done eating. It just smelled not fresh. It was just [00:15:00] like,

Christian: smelled weird when we were done eating, it smelled not fresh, it was just With our free little orange frosty.

Apparently they have a new orange frosty. Shout out to Wendy's because it's delicious. It's really good. So After we're finished eating we're talking and all of a sudden it smells like it just smells like shit like a horrible smell Then you're we were close to each other and I was like this girlfriend smell

Alyssa: You were saying, if I smelled you're an asshole,

Christian: she smell and I was like

Alyssa: you weren't even considering yourself.

Hold

Christian: on I did After I

Alyssa: Oh, wow. After you thought it was me.

Christian: So then I was like, hmm, I might smell like shit Or there was somebody who previously smelt like shit that sat in the same seat

Alyssa: the same seat as us. No, it didn't. No, so we, [00:16:00] apparently

Christian: know so we apparently we just finished our food and then it just

Alyssa: just stunk.

I thought it was me too. I'm like, okay.

Christian: I thought it was a big deal.

I'm like, okay,

Alyssa: because

Christian: we need to leave because it

Alyssa: Yes.

Christian: bad, but we weren't saying anything by the way. We were just like silently,

Alyssa: we were just silently suffering. We did being insecure

Christian: we did not address the situation, so we decided to go in the car and I drove to because we're going to do a mini podcast.

Alyssa: I think that's when we started to address it in the car

Christian: that

Alyssa: was smelled the same way in the car. So then I was really convinced that it was one of us But I was still thinking it was me Because I was further away from you in the car, even though we were in the same car. So then We got out the car

Christian: No, so we drove back to the house. We got [00:17:00] out the car. Wait, is it a different story?

Alyssa: I was talking about when we got out the car and I had to use the

Christian: Oh, that's right. Okay, yeah. We had to go to the restaurant. Yeah.

Alyssa: So we had to get out Go into a restaurant Use the bathroom And then came out Went back into the car and it still smelled like shit, but it smelled a little different. And I was so confused as to why it still smelled.

Christian: it still smelled.

Alyssa: I started spraying, even before or after that I was spraying perfume and I even sprayed it on you and you let me spray it on you.

Christian: And then

Alyssa: was bad. And then we get home,

get out the car, and then, Realized that there was something like caked on the bottom of my shoe. It looked like dirt but I had noticed it on the way home that there was something on the side of my shoe And I was like, oh

Christian: I was like, oh no.

Alyssa: I

did step in

Christian: in mud. Because

Alyssa: Because at that time I remembered [00:18:00] that I stepped into a planter an area where they have plants Because our car was parked right next to that and I said, oh I stepped in mud You I stepped into the plantern area before I got into the car.

So I thought that it was mud, but it could have been shit.

Christian: shit. It was shit. So my question is, was it dog shit or human shit?

Alyssa: Ew, stop.

Christian: stop.

Cause it could have been like a little kid. who just

Alyssa: the little kid study? No. Have

Christian: you ever seen those videos like little kids like shit and they like fall down their pants?

Alyssa: No!

Christian: Apparently

Alyssa: Apparently you have!

Christian: have! This kid

is that?

I have a really odd and Tik Tok feeds.

Alyssa: That's weird.

but makes sense

Christian: that.

Alyssa: that you would have some weird odds.

Christian: You really do. So then you're just scraping the shit off of your foot and it was

Alyssa: our kid never does that. . gonna say, that's your kid, right? They're not mine.

What I thought was funny was the fact [00:19:00] of when we realized what was caked into the bottom of my shoe because of the way that my shoe is where it goes in and it caked itself into the center I was trying to wipe it off in the grass, I was trying to wipe it off on the concrete and then we came to the conclusion that that wasn't gonna work even try to go out to the street to get it off so then you picked up a stick and gave it to me so that I could take it off

Christian: were getting grossed out.

Alyssa: You were getting

Christian: it back

Alyssa: No, I gave it back to you and you started to take it off And we were both getting grossed out. We were both being so dramatic And it was night time might I add so we had our phone flashlights out. It looks so suspicious. Just just two people Like, out on the street, you're using a stick, we have flashlights, and we're going

Neighbor just

Christian: And then the neighbor just pulled up, the street,

Alyssa: just stays there

Christian: Yeah, they're probably like, what is going on?

Is there an animal outside? Do I have to be worried?

Alyssa: They were [00:20:00] just looking at us, they don't normally do that, they normally just pull into the driveway, so it's they were definitely,

Christian: was horrid, oh my god They were looking over what are

Alyssa: Looking over what are they doing?

That was

Christian: my god, that was wet. was wet.

Alyssa: And I would not bring my shoes into the house.

Christian: No, that was just, no. After that, I'm like, maybe that's

Alyssa: most of it did get off, but I'm gonna need to give them a good wash. I just haven't had time.

Christian: to throw in the washer.

Alyssa: You know that my shoulder still When I ran into my car. Cause that was something that I wanted to mention.

Christian: Okay, wait a minute. Was I, I wasn't here for this.

Alyssa: there. It was just me. This was around Christmas time. Okay, cause remember, it's been a long time since we've done the podcast. So around Christmas time, I took my car, and I went over to my family's house, and I had my Christmas tree. What my dad thought was his stuffed animal. So the background is that is that there's this Christmas elf that sticks its tongue out and wiggles its tongue back and forth.

[00:21:00] It sounds really weird if you haven't seen it, but I kid you not. It is weird. Okay. That this is a stuffed animal. Okay. There's a stuffed animal. It makes noise. It says, Merry Christmas. And it sticks its tongue out and moves it like back and forth. And that's a stuffed animal that my dad likes and always has out around Christmas time.

So this year, me and my sisters decided to hide the elf. What we didn't tell the family was that there's another one for my cousin. And it's his stuffed animal. We took that one. And hid that one also. So that we could start, messing with my dad and putting it back. taking pictures and putting it places, making him think that it's in one place or the other.

So my dad takes the stuffed animals way too seriously. I don't remember if we've talked about Poopy on the podcast, his teddy bear, but I'm pretty sure we have.

Christian: sure we Yeah, he's

Alyssa: teddy bear that he's had since he's a child. Okay. So he takes them way too seriously to the [00:22:00] point where he gets extra, like he will do the most, ruin your clothes, throw water on you, dump whatever.

It's. It's, it's not funny when it's being done to you. What's funny from the outside when it's not you. So when I got back into the car leaving that day, he asked me if I had it with me because I had just sent a video earlier that morning of me taking it to work with me. But that video was two days old and he didn't know that.

He assumed that it was still in my car. Which it was not, because I'm not stupid to go over there with it in my car, okay? When I got in the car, he ran out and realized I was leaving. He wanted his stuffed animal that he was sure was in my car. So he starts banging on the windows, trying to open up the door.

And I'm not gonna open it. I'm trying to leave. And then, I don't realize, he goes and grabs the trash cans and starts putting them behind my car. [00:23:00] Okay, so that I can't get out.

Christian: Oh my

Alyssa: So then he starts running in the house. He starts running over towards his car. He's moving things and i'm just trying to get out and he keeps putting these trash cans back here.

Then he's you know trying to get into my car trying to get on the sunroof and i'm just like luckily i'm in the car. Otherwise, he's gonna try and get into my car. He wants me to open up the trunk so he can search my car. I'm not doing that. So When I start to back up he starts moving the other trash cans behind my car So I stopped because I don't want to scratch my car with the trash cans But after he was being so extra, I just decided to it.

I'm gonna back into the trash cans So when he moved out of the way, I just backed up and started dragging the trash cans with me I

think after that he realized that either

I

wasn't gonna be able to take him all the way because the driveway is The way it goes is weird. So I was going to have to some point get out of the car or I wasn't going to [00:24:00] care.

And I was going to push them all the way out to the street and leave. So he went inside the house where then I proceeded to continue to back up these trash cans. And I had to stop at a certain point because one of them tipped over. They were empty at this point. Okay. So luckily they were empty because one of them tipped over sideways.

So I had to move these trash cans out of the way. So I. Look to see if he wasn't there. I got out my car, I tried to do it so fast because I didn't want him to get in my car, I went, I tried to move both trash cans out of the way real quick, and when I went to run back around my car, I misjudged the space and I rammed myself into my car.

And I messed up my shoulder. It hurt so bad. I basically rammed the right side of my body into, but my shoulder took all the impact. And at that point, my dad realized from the door that I was out of the car and starts [00:25:00] coming towards my direction running. So I have to hurry up and get into the car as I feel like I can't move my arm.

So I like get myself into the car and I lock it and I'm just holding my arm going. Fuck.

Christian: lock it and just holding my

Alyssa: was born this

Christian: is it?

are too big.

Alyssa: Maybe my feet are too big. My feet aren't even that big.

Christian: even that

Alyssa: An eight.

Christian: nun. I like my shoes to

Alyssa: In the past there's been some 10 size shoes, but I don't wear those anymore.

Christian: they're too tight, I don't like them. why I

Alyssa: think my foot just shrank.

Christian: with

Alyssa: I like my shoes to be a little loose. 'cause when they're too tight, I don't like 'em. Which is why I have a problem with the type of boots that you like to wear

Christian: boot kick.

Alyssa: So [00:26:00] maybe that's why I also don't have a lot of balance. I'm pretty sure I had sneakers on though.

So more secure shoes. I'm pretty sure it was dark outside. Okay. It was night.

Christian: you know what? You also run funny.

Alyssa: I run

Christian: So I think the combination between your big feet and the way you run because you run forward The best way I can describe this is Have you ever seen a toddler run?

It's like they move, they like, they have their torso forward and they like fall . So they fall and then

Alyssa: into the run?

Christian: their legs run. That's what you do as an adult,

Alyssa: I don't do that!

Christian: I swear to God. You do. You run like a toddler. It's so hilarious.

Alyssa: Oh, whatever. Whatever. Actually, I do that. I realized yesterday when I was running outside.

Christian: the way you do it, you just like lean first. You lean forward. And then you go like

Alyssa: sound so dramatic and the way you're moving right now is like you're leaning all the way

Christian: You lean forward and it's like you fall [00:27:00] forward and then you run.

Alyssa: is I'm capable of like actually running because I used to run, but normally when I'm walking and I run first, but if I'm just taking off of like messing around or I'm just running somewhere, that's when I run like the

Christian: I don't know. I don't trust you.

Alyssa: don't trust

Christian: I don't think I've

Alyssa: never been running with

Christian: I've never been running with you.

Alyssa: you.

Christian: Yeah, but I, do you run though?

Alyssa: Cause

Christian: cause you barely walk around the block?

Alyssa: the block. Fuck you! That's not true. Last year I did a very good job of running. Walking.

Christian: I was like running to

Alyssa: I meant walking.

Christian: that makes

Alyssa: I walked up around the blocks.

Christian: We're okay going to Universal.

Alyssa: walk into

Christian: Yeah, just walking around Universal. We're okay with that.

Alyssa: that.

Sorry. And at this point in the podcast, we're going to take a moment of silence for those who have not made it out of the friend zone. Okay. Now that that's over,

Christian: Now that's over. Let me continue my life. Hey! Some people

Alyssa: Hey, some people will never make it [00:28:00] out of the friend zone.

Christian: those really good

Alyssa: It's unfortunate for those really good guys or girls.

Christian: this podcast is all over the place. By the way, how did I come out of the friend zone?

Alyssa: You're just there. And I figured that it was just convenient. And, you were shorter than me. So

like, I already had one up on you.

Christian: then you're like, I'm more dominating in this

Alyssa: I'm more dominating, so I feel like I have a little bit more control over this.

Christian: Oh my God.

Alyssa: I'm messing with you.

Christian: I know. That'd be funny though. That's actually a good point.

Alyssa: the point. Take it what you want. You're stuck now,

Christian: I definitely am stuck,

it, hold it. I got a bone to pick with

Alyssa: to

Christian: It's taken care of now.

Alyssa: care of now. But.

Christian: But. is. What is It

Alyssa: has to

the room. No,

Christian: No, no, no. It's not your stuff. Okay. Like I don't mind your stuff because I get it. You have a lot of shit. . Okay. You have nowhere to put it.

I get that. [00:29:00] That's why it's here

In

this place where we record the podcast, but.

Alyssa: not where I was going.

The

Christian: We

Alyssa: do

Christian: much

Alyssa: stuffed animals? They're underneath the

Christian: going to be birthday. And first thing I noticed where

Alyssa: Those are gonna be taken out by the way. Those are coming out soon.

Christian: Yeah, one has to come out.

Alyssa: No, all of them are coming out because that is part of What brings my personality into the room and it brings a lot of color since you don't have a lot of color and my stuffed Animals are a lot of color There's some that are pink Green bright colors.

It started off with the first one that you bought me and that's when we went to Yosemite that's where

that's where I

Christian: That's where I fucked up. That's [00:30:00] where you fucked

Alyssa: that you fucked up.

Christian: Guys that are out there, don't buy your girlfriend, wife,

Alyssa: Don't tell them that!

Christian: mistress, any, any

kind of stuffed animal, because they'll be everywhere.

Alyssa: They're

Christian: they're actually really good gifts, but I realized I can't get gifts that will take up space in the room.

It started with that

Alyssa: It started with that one. Then it started with the different theme parks that we would go to. Then I would get a stuffed animal from there, and then I had my own stuffed animal. And then one night when we were at round one, we ended up winning a bunch of stuffed animals and brought them home and we added like four of them.

And then now they're just all sitting above the bed, but there is space for two more.

Christian: No,

Alyssa: all I'm saying. My dad said that. I said there was space for one more. He said actually there's space for two more. So I have my eye on a couple of them, [00:31:00] specifically Disney characters. They're cute.

Christian: wonderful place.

Alyssa: You just reminded me that we're going to Disneyland! Oh, great. Okay, so I will definitely be getting another stuffed animal. It's okay! If you don't want to pull the ones that are underneath the bed up, I will just buy new ones. And then when those ones come out, I'm going to have to find another place for them.

Christian: a problem. haven't been in Disneyland since 2009.

Alyssa: That's a

long time.

Christian: It's a very long time since I graduated high school.

Alyssa: Wow, I haven't been to Disneyland since before COVID, so you're like 10 years

Christian: years. That's true.

That's true. Okay. So, you know, A little bit about, more about Disneyland than I do. What can I expect?

Alyssa: Considering the day that we're going, probably longer lines. Definitely than the week, but it's actually it's actually a lot of fun. There's we're going to be going to both parks. In California Adventure, there is a lot more of the bigger rides. Even though we're not going to go on those ones because we [00:32:00] don't like roller coasters.

Or things that drop.

Christian: I like that we have that commonality because I hate roller coasters, but, I think when that new roller coaster at Universal opens up, I want to go on it.

Alyssa: it. I'm not going on

Christian: I want to go on it because it's a new ride.

Alyssa: No, have fun. I'm not going on it. I refuse. Pay me.

You'd have to pay me to go on it.

Christian: freak

Alyssa: I'm not doing that. But, because I had asked you, How do you feel about roller coasters? And you said, I don't like them. And I said, great, we're going to go on the carousel next to it.

Christian: Because we're

Alyssa: then I said, How do you feel about a ride that drops you down multiple times?

And you said, no. And I said, great, we're going to go on Monsters, Inc. Because we are going with another couple friend, so when they go on those rides, we will be doing the other ones.

Christian: The smaller ones. I have no shame. I

Alyssa: no shame. It's fun. It's colorful. They're very vibrant. It's an

Christian: It's a great experience. [00:33:00] I actually look forward to this.

Alyssa: We'll just watch them from the pier. As they get shot off into the distance.

And wave them goodbye. Yeah,

Christian: not going to happen. But I

do

Alyssa: But I do like that we're on the same wavelength. It's gonna be, it's gonna be a lot. Especially because you haven't been to California Adventure since it opened.

Christian: haven't been to California Venture since it opened.

Yeah. Since it opened. Yeah. I haven't I do remember within months of California Venture being open, my family and I went To go check it out. It was fun, for what it was back then. I think it was like the cheaper alternative to Disneyland. And we went. Yeah, and then it was pretty cool.

Alyssa: I think I

Christian: some years by the time that I went there.

Alyssa: It's

probably not a Muppets

Christian: a

Alyssa: because you were so into them, you were like, this [00:34:00] This is Muppets .

Christian: you

Alyssa: Maybe you were traumatized by the ride and you just decided to create them into Muppets

Christian: the ride

Alyssa: you get a bid.

Christian: just decided to into Muppets. You're gonna be. Okay, it shouldn't take

Alyssa: Okay, it shouldn't take that long, but I will tell you what could take two hours. Rise of the Resistance.

That, I will wait in line. I don't care. I'm hoping that we don't have to, but Rise of the Resistance, if you guys have not been on it, I was on it last time that I went to Disney and it was really good.

It's an entire

Christian: good. It's an entire experience.

Alyssa: I don't want to spoil it for people, but I will just say this ride has multiple parts. You got to be ready to be walking because you're gonna do quite the bit of walking until you're not and then you're gonna walk again

Christian: Oh my god.

Alyssa: Again, and you're gonna get bullied because they do bully you.

Christian: They bully you?

Alyssa: [00:35:00] Yeah, they do Because you get captured By the stormtroopers and look I'm I might sound like really ignorant cuz I don't know much about Star Wars But all I know is that you get captured there were stormtroopers there a lot of them Okay, and the staff they bully you but that's part of the experience

Christian: You know what, I got a little sidetrack. I'm a little ADD. You're Yes, okay. Something came to mind. That lesbian movie

that

Alyssa: This has to be told. This has to be told because I

Christian: no, no, this has to

Alyssa: the most,

Christian: has to be told because I think this is the most, this is the most comical thing.

Alyssa: thing.

Christian: Because I remember we were at a movie, we have these passes, we have movie passes. So we go to the movies often now. Now, this trailer while before a movie.

Alyssa: It's

called Drive [00:36:00] Away Dolls.

Christian: Away Dolls. You did not say I don't even know what means.

I don't even

Alyssa: you. did not tell me. I did not hear you say that. I don't know what that

Christian: All I know

Alyssa: that's what it is, then I have never seen a movie like that

Christian: a movie like that before. That kind of movie, A soft porn movie.

Alyssa: Okay. And I did not know and expect, because the trailers are very deceiving. I, I can see now looking back maybe where there could have been some suggestive, but the trailer does not give any suggestion. It just seems like this movie where these girls. Find this and you could assume that it's cash or something because that's almost like the way

Christian: most people think it's cash Oh, Sure.

Alyssa: on the run from these guys and you know They're trying to track them down and find them across the [00:37:00] the state lines that they're going. Okay So then, I come home one night and I'm like, I want to go out. I want to watch a movie. You were unavailable. So I asked your mom to go with me and she said yes, and I said, oh I'm gonna see this movie and And I basically pitched it to her in a way of what I knew it was.

So then we decided to go and it was a late night movie. Okay, like around nine o'clock. And we were the only two people in the theater.

Christian: people in

Alyssa: We were the only two people in the theater.

Christian: two people in the theater. It's late

Alyssa: It's late at night in the middle of the week.

Christian: week.

Alyssa: Who's going to a movie? There's some people like us, but realistically, how many people are doing that?

Christian: but realistically,

Alyssa: Okay.

Christian: are doing

Alyssa: Cut to the movie starts off with the sex scene. With two girls. Okay, and I'm like, wow, this is like really graphic. Like this is, this [00:38:00] is really Like they're really getting into it. Okay, so starts off with that. So that's one thing where it's okay, this is like uncomfortable, because I'm sitting next to your mom.

And then finally I'm just like, okay, I'm just like waiting for this to be over with. And then finally it's done. Cut two. Then we get some context and, we're getting to know some characters and one of them is definitely more out there than the other. And one is more conservative.

They end up during the movie with a group of girls from, I think it was like some, I think it was, I can't even remember if it was like a softball or soccer team or something like that. And they end up in a makeout party basically where they're all just making out with each other. A

Christian: A make out party, in quotations?

Alyssa: Yes, no like really they were just like making out with each other, okay

So that was another one that was like uncomfortable And then it goes over to another scene I could swear There's another sex scene [00:39:00] where they show some things but it was not as bad as the other Towards the end of the movie.

Okay, so towards the end of the movie I can already see that there's chemistry building up between these two female characters and That they're gonna decide to do things together and I'm like, oh my god I feel like I should make an excuse right now to go to the bathroom But then that's gonna be weird and I'm like, okay if I have my out I need to take my out now, or maybe I could just wait Oh, it doesn't seem so bad and I lost my out and I felt like if I got up at that moment that it would just be weird.

So when I realized what was coming up, I just put my head down in my phone and I was texting you and sure enough. Yeah, they did end up

Christian: up

Alyssa: Doing a lot of graphic things. Okay, it was graphic. It was like soft porn.

Yes

That's what made it

so uncomfortable

Christian: my god, ok

Alyssa: we're not, we're not discussing all the details, but let's just talk about me feeling hot and [00:40:00] Because I'm like embarrassed and I'm like, oh my god, and I'm texting you and I'm like, oh my god This is so embarrassing and I don't know if we should leave or not.

And I don't even want to look at your mom and I

Christian: How come you didn't tell my mom?

You just said, how come you didn't say hey. It's weird, right? It's I don't know.

Alyssa: I don't know. After the movie, I said that movie was weird. That's not what I expected.

Christian: I don't

Alyssa: I don't know. Okay. Like I just froze. It's like that flight flight or freeze. I think I just froze and I was just like, Oh my God, that wasn't even the worst part of the movie. Okay. So you haven't seen the movie.

Thus far, basically I'm going to tell you what was in that case. It wasn't money.

Christian: money.

Alyssa: It

was dildos. It was molds.

Christian: I would have been pissed

Alyssa: people's dildos and I was like what?

Christian: After that entire

Alyssa: You don't know you don't

Christian: stupid. That's such a [00:41:00] stupid movie

dildos

Alyssa: in the case That's why they were tracking him there's a whole like context and a reason why they don't want it to get out But it was very awkward And there's also a shower scene Where they use the

Christian: Of course I did. 2024.

Alyssa: That much but you know what's going on by the sounds and what they grab And the camera panning away.

It's like that's where the movie ended and I was just like no

Christian: I remember you text. You're texting me.

Alyssa: Oh my god, I was so awkward. It was it was so bad and then I came home and I told you

Christian: I was traumatized

Alyssa: I was traumatized by the whole experience. I was like, okay, and you said I told you it was a lesbian movie No, you did not tell me. Okay, and you did not say that it was gonna be like that, but the trailer was very deceiving

Christian: deceiving. Yeah, so me and mom

Alyssa: Yeah, so me and your mom haven't talked about it since But everything seems okay [00:42:00] But like now that I think about it, like why did we just leave? I don't know.

Christian: it, like, why didn't we just

Alyssa: waiting for your mom to say something. I was like She seemed fine normal,

Christian: kind of like, she seemed fine. Normal. I see a late night movie with

Alyssa: That's the last time I'm gonna go see a late night movie with your mom when I don't know for sure what the movie is. I should've watched Madam Web.

I should have just went with the safe choice. I felt like that was just too much like I didn't want to watch Inception type of movie before I went to bed.

I felt like it would have affected me in a weird way And we should have just watched that movie

Christian: Argyle was

Alyssa: Argyle was a really good

Christian: really good movie.

Alyssa: If you haven't seen Argyle,

Christian: seen Argyle,

Alyssa: watch it. There's a lot of plot twists. Let me just tell you, trailers is also deceiving.

Christian: Argo.

Alyssa: The trailer for Argyle, it seems like a [00:43:00] completely different movie. You do not realize until the middle of the movie when everything starts connecting what type of movie it is.

Christian: when everything starts

Alyssa: movies. Yeah so,

Christian: of is. Yeah,

Alyssa: stands out

Christian: we passes.

Alyssa: was really good. it was really

Christian: movie. The whole storyline.

Alyssa: Bob Marley.

Christian: I haven't seen it.

I was supposed to see it with my mom. Haven't had that chance, but I think we probably should What was the last movie that we seen?

Alyssa: The story about? The dog.

Okay, Arthur The

Christian: that, that

Alyssa: was a good movie.

Based on a true story.

Christian: Yes, it's a 10 movie.

Alyssa: That

Christian: Really good movie. I liked it because it reminded me of Our Dog. and it's the same thing but a bigger

Alyssa: He's a scrappy little dog. Yeah.

Christian: And oh at the [00:44:00] end of that movie

Alyssa: I was in

Christian: I was getting emotional. I was like hold it like just don't don't cry.

Don't do it But it was just like oh, it was such a good movie. It's emotional. It's a inspirational movie for sure

Alyssa: Yeah, loved it. Yeah, all for the

Christian: Yeah, all

for

Alyssa: No, I know that. Arthur the king you need to go watch it. This dog is amazing

Christian: Cause that dog loves

Alyssa: They were in a what is it called a a it's not a triathlon but it's

Christian: It's like

Alyssa: It's above that it's an international one basically like a triathlon where they're doing multiple the hiking the running the boats or the canoes the biking

Christian: So they have to go from point A to point B. There's

Alyssa: 200 miles or it might even be more

Christian: So they give, they give it a specific time, like [00:45:00] 48 hours to get to this one point. You could go from A to B on their designated trails, or you could take shortcuts.

So you go, no, you can go wherever you want. And these guys of course take shortcuts. And the dog finds those shortcuts because he loves those meatballs.

Alyssa: it just goes to show, kindness goes a long way.

Christian: Yeah. Or have the right meatball and you'll find the right dog.

Alyssa: Okay, I think we got two different. Like two different messages out of this movie.

Christian: dog loves those meatballs. So he's going to go after those meatballs. That's, that's what I got

Alyssa: Okay. That sounds on point for you.

Christian: On brand, right? On brand. Definitely

Alyssa: You're not allowed to go with meatballs out of the house

because you're gonna come back with some scruffy little dog that you find on the street.

Christian: You know what? I'm not going to lie. Those meatballs look pretty good.

Alyssa: I'm not a meatball person,

Christian: But I was also thinking, I should make meatballs for lunch and take them to work. [00:46:00] Okay,

I Should we end it on the meatball topic?

Alyssa: We can end it on the meatballs.

Christian: let's end it on the meatballs.

Alyssa: If you wanna end it on the meatballs, we can

Christian: All right, then we'll end it there. So I am not glitter.

Alyssa: I'm glitter.

Christian: You're glitter.

Alyssa: And you're Glow.

Christian: Yeah. He really messed that one

Alyssa: know. It's been so long since we've done this. I'm like partially tired and I'm lying. Please line.

Christian: Yes, okay. So I'm glow

Alyssa: I'm glitter.

Christian: and that's been our podcast. We'll see you guys next time

Alyssa: I don't even know how to end the podcast anymore.
