- medial ankle pain and firm midsoled and torsional stable shoes
- slow transition needed to change footwear styles
- comfort most important
- dealing with shoe stores
- less dense the foam is, the less stable a shoe becomes

- increase stack height and density of foams for stability in shoes
- sensory perception
- Pebax foam gives energy return but dont last as long
- low heel pitch reduces anterior knee load but increases Achilles load
- need strength to cope with low heel pitch
