Dialysis Patient Citizens

FB Live – September 20th: In our latest informative episode of Kidney Questions for the Doctor, DPC Education Center’s Dr. Velma Scantlebury answers a wide variety of questions from patients. From dialysis and mental health to an explanation of some post-transplant medications, this episode delves into multiple aspects of living well with kidney disease.

Many people still have questions regarding vaccinations that are available to kidney patients, as well as which ones they should be getting and when. Dr. Scantlebury digs into how this year’s flu and COVID vaccinations are different from previous years and highlights the importance of speaking with your doctor before scheduling any vaccinations, particularly the RSV vaccine. She also answers questions on why sometimes transplants don’t take, how soon after kidney rejection can you go back on the transplant list, and gives an explanation on generic medications and their use for post-transplant patients.
