IG Live – December 6th: In our last Kidney Questions of the year, DPC Education Center’s Healthcare Consultant, Dr. Scantlebury, is answering the questions that are at the top of patients’ minds. This episode delves into a variety of questions regarding transplant, holiday health, and kidney disease.

Did you know that high blood pressure and diabetes are both factors in kidney disease progression? Dr. Scantlebury discusses these and other factors, as well as ways to be proactive about your kidney and how patients might even be ablet to bypass dialysis all together and get a transplant. She also talks about overcoming the fear of transplantation that some patients experience, what you should do with your fistula after transplantation, and options for patients who aren’t eligible for transplant. Since it is the holiday season and parties and gatherings are in full swing Dr. Scantlebury also highlights the importance of getting the updated COVID and flu vaccines, and provides some excellent tips for enjoying the festivities while not jeopardizing your health.
