Sep 28, 2023 Episode 29

Have you ever found yourself drained, unmotivated, and just generally out of alignment? You're not alone; my dear friend Maggie and I take you on an explorative journey to uncover the concept of 'Purpose', which we define as your life's true calling. Labeling it as something far beyond a 'nine to five' job, we delve into the signs that might reveal you're not walking in your purpose—including a lack of passion or motivation, and feeling stuck in an abusive or unsatisfying situation.

In this episode, we also shine a light on the transformative power of prayer, particularly when it comes to deliverance and healing. With the understanding that dark times can often lead us astray from our purpose, we discuss how reaching out to God can free us from sin and oppression, helping us find our way back. We zero in on the battle against drug abuse, sexual immorality, and prostitution, offering prayers and extending our trust in divine guidance for those in need. Don't miss our powerful conversation around self-discovery, personal transformation, and spiritual healing.

These feelings of discontentment and un- fulfillment are not to be dismissed. They're your soul's way of signaling that something is amiss—that you're not walking in your purpose. Acknowledging these feelings is the first step towards realignment with your true calling.

In the midst of these dark times, when you feel lost and astray from your purpose, prayer can serve as a powerful guiding light. Our podcast episode emphasizes the transformative power of prayer, particularly in delivering us from sin and oppression. We discuss how reaching out to God can help us find our way back to our true purpose.

Speaker 1:

If you haven't listened to our discussion on Papas, on finding Papas, on pursuing Papas, on praying and being a Papas-fulparent guardian, you can listen to part one, which is Papas, god's way, and I'm here with my friend Maggie, so we'll just continue on the journey of Papas, finding Papas, pursuing Papas. I'm very big on that. I love it. I believe that when everyone understands their Papas, knows their Papas, walks in it, then you're partnering with God and what he has already preordained for you to be able to do it and it's also fulfilling for you as a person, as in you just don't wade through life. You actually have fun as you live life, as you pursue life. And so today we'll be talking about when's the right time to know Papas. Yeah, so the children have been prayed for. It's been changing. You've been pushing them. They don't like it. They've changed along the way. Are you too old for Papas? We've understood the right time would be as the children are young, but as you grow you could find Papas along the way, because there are people who are nudging you. But the biggest thing now is are you too old to know your Papas and pursue it? How can you know you're not working in Papas? Let's say you never, ever prayed for this. You never, ever know about it. You don't even know about it. Yeah, so how could you? Would you know?

Speaker 1:

What I've seen happen, and especially like in my journey, is when I try something and it doesn't work. Before God told me to try to do business, I didn't even occur to me. It was not something that was in my mind, my heart, I had no passion for it. Those around me would do it, but for me, selling things is just not my thing. So you have, you lack motivation, you lack Papas, you don't have the desire. You feel like it's a stretch for you, right? And then when you're doing it, you're doing it very begrudgingly. You're not doing it with one heart. It doesn't come easy for you and, yes, some things you can learn along the way. You can gain the love and the passion for it because of the returns. But most often than not I have seen that when you're working out of Papas, it's just a struggle. Struggle to wake up, struggle to do, struggle to find even the people who do it, and then the people who do it can't help you. It's just a struggle. And how about yourself? I totally agree with what you're saying and I would add to that We've been told that where Papas is not known, abuse is inevitable.

Speaker 1:

When you're working out of Papas, I believe you tend to you know this world is for the takers and as a taker of things, there are people who are more aggressive than you, and I believe the Word of God says that the kingdom of God suffers violence because they're violent, take it by force, and when they're violent, they're taking it by force. One of the things they do is that they have to you. They say mean things to you, they discourage you, so they absolutely are not able to nurture your learning journey. So they are they, they say mean things to you, they abuse you and there's a lot of neglect, right and like everything else, you get wounded, get injuries and sometimes, when you walk out of Papas, you get accidents, and physical accidents, emotional accidents. Sometimes it's even depressive. It's really hard and when you're in that state, you tend to be depressive, you tend to be suicidal and, of course, the devil is now stealing and robbing you of of what you don't even know is inside of you, right, and he just wants you to die because the word of God in John, chapter 10, in verse 10 it says their thief comes to steal, to kill and to destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life.

Speaker 1:

And so when you're walking out of Papas, or out of even the knowledge of the things, they're always telltale signs. Right, you'll always have a telltale sign either you're in an abusive relationship, your boyfriend is beating you, um, you're in an abusive marriage, you're having such a hard time, um, if it's a workplace, you're going through so much abuse, you're depressive. The world has a way of just communicating, whether you know Christ or you do know Christ. The world simply has a way of communicating and, like everything else human beings we tend to just ignore all signs. Yes, we do all red flags and we enter into bad relationships.

Speaker 1:

We get employed in institutions that are not meant for Papas, we are introduced to behaviors, values that are very, very deteriorative and people exploit you. People exploit what you have, the gift you have. They introduce you to all manner of things and because you want to conform, because you want to fit in, you just go with the flow and years upon years down the line, you're trying to get out and it's. It's just a lot of work, right? Yeah, so how do you, somebody who's in those situations right now and wanting to change trajectory. How do they?

Speaker 1:

Um, you know, for a start, uh, what I've always found is your ability to be able to self reflect. Take, take pause, stop, take a deep breath and pause and ask yourself is this working or it's not working? And you have to be honest, right, even before we come to the place of prayer. Right, you have to be honest with yourself. And how does this make you feel? You know, pain is pain, pain is not present, so you can't lie to yourself that all the bad things that are happening to you are good. You have to be willing to tell yourself hold up, this is working, this is not working. If it's working, continue.

Speaker 1:

If it's not working, ask yourself how did I get here? Admit to yourself about how you got there. Maybe you were vulnerable, maybe you needed money, maybe you needed a way out, maybe you did a job and so you found yourself here. And then you ask yourself how am I feeling? Do I like this feeling? If yes, it's, that's up to you. It's a decision you have to make. If it's no, you have to make the tough decision and say I have to stop. And you have to put it clearly and plainly and say I will stop.

Speaker 1:

And what happens is for most people, and what I encourage is run to god. Run to god, because he's the one who knows you, he's the one who'll help you out. The bible says the lord is a strong tower. The righteous run into it and they are saved. So he will save you, he will help you and he will create a way out for you. And whereas it seems very theoretical, um, sometimes it's just to say I can't do this and I want out. And you actually get out, cut through it, and there's no shortcut to it. And it doesn't get better 10 years from now, 100 years. It's just prolonged abuse, and you have to teach yourself to just say no to it and you walk out. And as you walk out, there are instances where you have to go for therapy, you have to go to hospital for treatment, you have to be on medication for some of these things.

Speaker 1:

But, above all else, the thing that, um, I'd encourage us is to pray, and so, my dear, I think we should pray and to just ask god to be our helper. Indeed, for anyone who's undergoing any difficult situation, any hard situation, anything that they got themselves into, knowingly and or unknowingly, god is our helper, and in the book of Psalms, 18 and verse 10, it says the name of the Lord is a fortified tower or a strong tower. The righteous run to it and are safe. At that point of your vulnerability, maggie, you don't feel safe and you don't even have energy to run, but we ought to be reminded that it is only God who knows us by name. He created us, he formed us in our mothers' moms and he knows us, and so when we run to Him, we are actually safe and he will save us. Not only safe, but he will also save us.

Speaker 1:

So even today, if you're in this situation and you don't know where to run, you don't know whom to call, you have no one to call and you just want out. This prayer is for you. You can pray in agreement, you can receive what the Lord would have you do and to help you. So let us pray. Our Lord and our God, we want to just thank you for this time and we just want to pray for each and every one of us who is undergoing any form of uncertainty, any form of abuse, any form where they have deviated from their purpose. You know what? Is very clear that the thief comes to steal, to kill and to destroy. But you, jesus, have come that you may have life, and life ever more abundantly.

Speaker 1:

And so, god, we are here praying for anyone and everyone who is in this situation, where they have the hold of the enemy. They are destroying them, they are killing them, they are in a depressive state, they are angry, there in an abusive marriage, abusive relationship, abusive and toxic workplace, and they just don't know how to get out that. Indeed, oh God, they will run to you and they will be saved because you are the strong tower. Indeed, oh God, begin to stretch out your hand to release your people from these holes, from these pits of hell, oh God, and embrace them and love them and speak to them tenderly, oh God, and restore them back to Papas, back to you, oh God, because you are the one who called us into this ministry of reconciliation, reconciling us back to Jesus Christ, oh God.

Speaker 1:

And so, father, anyone who is connecting with this prayer this day, oh God, at this time, father, and they are just feeling down and low, may they run to you because you are safe, and may you hold them, embrace them, give them a way out of this situation they are in, as they trust you in it, be it drug abuse, be it sexual immorality, be it prostitution, pornography, father, indeed, you are the only one who is able to release and remove your people from bondage and sin, oh God.

Speaker 1:

So, father, we commend this, your people and your children well over to you, that you're going out and sending your angels, oh God.

Speaker 1:

That, indeed, father, god. At the end of it they will say that you are their Lord and their God, their Redeemer, the one who saved them, the one who snatched them from the foul as snare, and indeed, life of God is breathing inside of them and they are getting a second chance, they are getting able to be able to get out of this, every single one of the situations they are in. So, father, I commend each and every one of us into your hands that you will guide us and be with us, realign us back to Papa, so God, and heal our woundedness. Oh Jehovah, father, heal us because your word says by your stripes we are healed, the stripes of Jesus on the cross. We are healed. That each one of us, oh God, will move from not walking in Papas to walking in Papas, because we are healed, we are whole, ready to serve you, oh God, for we pray all this. We live in your trust in Jesus' name Amen.
