I really wanted it to be suspenseful.

Speaker 1:

I love it. This is our second season of our podcast. What the hell.

Speaker 2:

It does. It feels like we just got started.

Speaker 1:

I know Why are we like rock stars. Jesse, how does it feel to know famous people?

Speaker 3:

Utah famous, we know famous. What are we talking about?

Speaker 1:

Well, if you have to ask there, there's my answer.

Speaker 3:

With that being said, this podcast is listened to across the country.

Speaker 2:

There are downloads all over the place Oh my gosh, don't forget about Africa, and India loves us.

Speaker 1:

Oh, that's right South. Africa We never talked about that. Wait, let me pull that up. Oh my God, thank you, i'm shooketh. Hold on Hold, please. This is serious She's holding.

Speaker 3:

I'm going to give the audience an overview, please do Spill your guts is one of the most popular podcasts in South Africa.

Speaker 1:

Listen, we got an email. Where is it? I'm trying to find it in our text. You guys, this is serious.

Speaker 2:

Where is it? One of our posts on our like most viewed, thousands and thousands of views, yes, okay, here it is.

Speaker 1:

I found it, i took a screenshot and showed it to this guy, to this guy, showed it to these guys. Look at me, i'm getting excited. Must be my ADHD. Hey, anybody, okay, bye, see you. Bye.

Speaker 2:

And then he asked Mandy to send him money. He actually didn't?

Speaker 1:

He actually did.

Speaker 3:

It might actually be real He actually didn't, It was from a.

Speaker 1:

do I say the organization? Does anybody cares? Is that a faux pas?

Speaker 3:

Okay, let's say it.

Speaker 1:

It is a happy podcasting from Carlos at podstatuscom And I'm like Carlos. Hello, do they have 60 podcasts only? Shameless promotion.

Speaker 3:

If you people in South Africa are listening and you need a podcast, come to Patty bandwagon Please.

Speaker 1:

Patty bandwagoncom. There it is. Listen to our South African listeners. We honor you. We appreciate the global embrace, just like. Thank you so much for bringing that up. I'm so sad I forgot that last time. Oh, that's serious. So also listen, south African fans. This is the final episode of our second season, but we will be back, so please do not be sad because we are taking a break for hot girl summer. What were you calling it? Rachel was calling it something else. What are we calling this summer?

Speaker 2:

Be a problem. summer Be a problem summer.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, tell me more about that, let's get into it.

Speaker 2:

It's just our line when we need to make sure that we're speaking and living our true, authentic selves and really just kind of like not giving a fuck, because like really honestly, like we, we can't, we cannot care anymore, we can't go back.

Speaker 1:

Which is all fun and dandy until, like, it actually comes up in real life, like it did today when I was texting you about something and I was like okay, so here's my two options. I can either, like you know, shrink away and into safety, or I can just tell someone the truth and throw a grenade in their life And she said be a problem. It's like damn it, damn. We're living by the code of be a problem summer.

Speaker 1:

Hey, i committed, send it, send it. No, i'm very excited because I cannot believe we've completed two full seasons. Jesse, i can't believe you still like have us around. You're a, you're a gentleman and a scholar and I appreciate you.

Speaker 3:

Mandy, you've been here since the beginning.

Speaker 1:

Are we happy for a moment?

Speaker 3:

No, okay, maybe a little one.

Speaker 1:

But I just I want to talk about okay. So, as we wrap up this year I mean this year, this season everybody's been along with us on some crazy rides And we want them to tune in when we come back in September. So today we're going to talk about what our summer goals are. Like. What have you like as we came out of the eternal winter of doom that seemed to never end, right, and we had the million eclipses and astrology craziness and all the random things, and then we finally made it to warmer weather, right, and we're about to head into our summer with you know the mysteries that unfold, like what are you most looking forward to? What are you? you know? what are the lessons that you've learned? you know thus far, as we're moving into Q3 of 2023, what are you going to be excited to tell people about when we come back in September? Like, spill your guts. What is it? Tell me everything. We've nothing un-shared.

Speaker 1:

I think, maybe some things, but also be a problem.

Speaker 2:

Be a problem, I will you know, continuing to march towards working out of my new business and offering health coaching in a way that feels good to me. I'm headed up to Salt Lake in a couple of weeks for the functional aging summit.

Speaker 1:

Ooh, ooh. tell me more about that, For those who don't know what it is.

Speaker 2:

Well, i need to tell you first the weirdest moment that I had, because, okay, so functional aging summit is a bunch of health, wellness, fitness. People from all doctors, all walks of life come together to learn how to better serve the 55. And I hate to say it, but we're actually going as low as, like, the 45 plus year old market.

Speaker 1:

No, i love to hear that actually Like the more information we can gather, the better, honestly, okay.

Speaker 2:

Oh, I am 41. So pretty soon I'm going to be in this market. I'm presenting because I have a. I host a course on functional aging institutes website. Oh my gosh, Can anybody access that?

Speaker 1:

Or is that like you have to be like a member or something Like?

Speaker 2:

I didn't want to access it, and I have a discount code too, if you want like 40% off or something.

Speaker 1:

So, trainers out there, that's a really, really cool resource to look into.

Speaker 2:

And it's just like it's the. So I've been to all sorts of these events, big and small. You know, some are so like flashy and they've got all the things right. The functional aging summit, like truly, is like very client centric, like all the like, all the whole agenda is so like it's by the end of the weekend I, my brain, is exhausted because I've learned so much. Sometimes when I go to these things, it's like it's a little bit lighter. It's like you know, try this new protein shake and then use this weird piece of equipment. Someone invented it and is trying to sell you like this is very like education heavy. But I had a moment with someone that you love very much. I present after Rick Mayo.

Speaker 1:

Oh my God. Good thing he doesn't listen to this. Let me some Rick Mayo shout out check out alloy Alloycom. Just do yourself a favor, Do yourself a keynote or something No way. Oh my gosh, now I got to go.

Speaker 2:

And it's such a small, it's a very, it's very strange. So Rick was directly impacted Me getting hired at the corporate position that I hold And without him, like we would not be sitting here, i Oh.

Speaker 1:

Oh my God, raise a class, rick Mayo. Wherever you are You, it's your fault. We have this podcast.

Speaker 2:

So it's just. I had a moment where I was just. I didn't even know he was coming.

Speaker 1:

Wait, actually, for those who don't know who he is, can you just give like a quick thing and then we'll have to like let him know. We mentioned him on the podcast.

Speaker 2:

Yes, He, he was, he's the founder of Alloy Training Systems And I was exposed to his like workouts and processes and systems and how to even sell training when I worked at this little gym in North Carolina for about four years. And strangely my the gym that I was in was like one of the very first adopters of the system. like well, first three top like or five clients he ever had. So just like kind of connected through different events, i got featured as like Alloy trainer of the quarter.

Speaker 1:

Oh my gosh.

Speaker 2:

So like had all these weird little connections. And then when I had to leave North Carolina and go get a new job in Minnesota, when I applied for this job a social media position actually And they're like you're not qualified but we're bringing in this alloy thing, so like we'll keep your resume, and I was like OK, like I know how that goes. And a couple weeks went by and I get a Facebook message from Rick Mayo And he was like hey, i'm in a room right now and your name came up about a position. I'm recommending you for it.

Speaker 2:

So like gosh don't turn out to be a serial killer. He literally said that.

Speaker 1:

I'm so fangirling right now. If you guys recall, i don't know what episode of Spill Your Guts it was, but we were getting passionate and running our mouths about something And I shared a story about. We were talking about I don't even remember like training and fitness and all the things And I shared a story about how I slid into the DMs of someone in Rotor Novella, very passionate, actually, emailed him This very long winded thing about something that hurt my feelings and had nothing to do with him at all, like how embarrassing is that, and I sent it before I could like rationally stop myself And he was so amazing. He literally first off read it all, bless OK, but then had the most like sincere, like wonderful response And I totally admire him, especially as a leader in the fitness space Just the best guy ever. So that is really cool. So you're going to get to see Rick Mayo at the functioning aging summit Now. We're going to have to have him on the podcast now. I know We talked about it, so put it out there in the universe.

Speaker 2:

So I'm really excited about that. In the same, in that same weekend, i am still on this knee journey. I don't know if I've kind of updated anyone, but I was supposed to have a pretty awful, serious knee surgery, but my surgeon didn't recommend it anymore. Oh, so I'm going to meet with OK, it's not cancer, so nobody freak out, but it it's like 20 tumors And I'm going to meet with this like cancer specialist group that's doing a clinical trials of this drug that shrinks tumors down, oh really. So I'm going to look at that as an option. I don't, i don't need, i just need a little more range of motion out of my knee. That's all I need. I don't need a whole new thing, i just need a little more stability. So, if I can do that, so I'm going to have to meet. I'm like, oh, i'm part of a clinical trial which hopefully will all be like paid for, and so yeah, that's cool, yeah totally.

Speaker 2:

So I'll be a science project.

Speaker 1:

Just your dream coming true. Do you get a lot of? do you get a lot of birds in the summer? there You got a little bird action in the summer or what.

Speaker 2:

I got an update and post a video because I have a favorite female Finch who, like, hunkers down in the feeder and she eats until she falls asleep, my bitch. And then she'll wake up and be like oh, food, and then eat again Until she falls asleep. Dude male partner comes in like retrieves are like we got to go. We like it's time.

Speaker 1:

He's like listen, Carol, I told you we weren't going to do this again. Time to go. Oh, that's awesome. Ok, so you're going to be working on your business. I'm going to be like, oh, school school starts.

Speaker 2:

Ok, ok, guys, next week.

Speaker 1:

That's, you know. that's the main reason why we got to take a little breather, because Rachel's going to need all of our good energy and vibes sent her away, so sprinkle your little spirit fingers towards Rachel when you think about her.

Speaker 2:

I'm really excited. I haven't been to school school like. I've done online starts and gone to like a weekend workshop, but I haven't done like school school since college. Honestly It's been a long time. So we'll see how that goes July. We always have a like really good time. We always do like some kind of competition as a family, so this year we're doing tie dye competition Wait wait a minute.

Speaker 1:

Wait, just like arbitrary July competition. Is it like a Fourth of July gathering thing?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, we're going to do Fourth of July tie dye, and then I suggested some kind of sparkler show competition.

Speaker 1:

I want to be a part of your family. So bad Like I was literally like just the fact that you guys make competitions out of everything, like when you told me about the lasagnas I die. You have to tell the people, please. It's like the family that needs me.

Speaker 2:

Ok we are like very competitive and gets really funny, play board games And we do gingerbread house competitions. But my dad's side of my family is a very Italian, very Sicilian, and so every year my aunt for Christmas makes a lasagna. However, she makes enough to feed. I don't even know.

Speaker 1:

These are my brother and 200 people, yeah, and for like, maybe 14. Yeah, yes, yes.

Speaker 2:

And so one year you know, my uncle, her brother who was like being a brat at the time, but then it's gone on since was like let's weigh that thing, how much is that weigh? Oh yeah, that's killer. So now we start every year. We place bets on how much it weighs, and it's kind of range anywhere from 28 pounds to 42 pounds.

Speaker 1:

Stop it right now. I was on 42. That's like $300 casserole right there. I'm just. That is so impressive. That's a lot of mozzarella.

Speaker 2:

You know it's layers and layers, But yeah, we do that. It's really fun. Every rubber gets the closest without going over.

Speaker 1:

Okay. So now you're going to have to do a deep dive on some like tie dye techniques so you can sweep house.

Speaker 2:

I've already been checking out some tick tock, tie dye, tie, dye, tick tock, that's so fun. And then, hopefully, fingers crossed, headed to the UK at the end of July Oh, and I haven't been there since college either. And then August I kept open on purpose to just enjoy Utah, hang out, do my homework, work on my business and relax.

Speaker 1:

That's perfect. I know I'm so excited So tell me well before before I ask you my next question. I will share that for me this summer when we come back and we reconvene in September.

Speaker 1:

Right, i will have a senior in high school, oh my God So this summer has already begun, right With senior activities, and I am unwell, i am not okay. I did not realize that this was like going to happen to me, this hardcore. But obviously everyone else knows, right, you guys don't know what a fucking sentimental dork I am, but like every little thing right now I'm just like so noticing, with my son.

Speaker 1:

Like you know they just I mean, it's June, right, and they just started like summer conditioning for the season. And you know he's he just did his first weightlifting competition last weekend And you know like just little stuff that is starting to happen, like I got to start thinking about, like oh, we have to schedule senior pictures at the end of the summer And like I am not okay, like this is like his last year of football conditioning for high.

Speaker 1:

For you know, like the way we've been living for the past 10 years or so, like however long you know and so it's just like a really interesting like threshold of motherhood, parenting I will say parenting because it's not just me like Mikey and I are freaking out together. It's like very weird, but like in the best way. And my daughter is going into high school, so we have like two like this summer will be a pretty big transitional summer. So that is why my husband, in pulse, bought an RV. I love it. So for all the spillier guts users out there, we are going to be a camping family. I just told these guys that my husband is fully embraces in her Clark Rizwald and has a lot of plans for us to go all over the place in this thing, but he could barely drive it home last weekend from, and it's literally parked in front of our house right now because neither one of us are brave enough to try to back it into the spot.

Speaker 2:

It is like I would be so, i would be so scared. I'd be like you know what you got. You got it.

Speaker 1:

Well, yeah that I'm pulling my damsel card for sure. I'm like, oh no.

Speaker 3:

During our little break. Can we please get video of you guys trying to park it in my garage?

Speaker 1:

I feel like I need to start a separate podcast, just called it the Holdings get an RV That we just like follow, like, like literally our first. Well, my daughter slept in it right out front in front of the house, so like she's technically like broken it in. But we, we had all these grand like plans to go take it to go see you and St George like, and then once we like drove it home, we were like maybe we'll go to boom town. It is like a casino here in Reno that has an RV.

Speaker 2:

Okay, we got to practice.

Speaker 1:

It's real and we're a little scared So so I'm excited about that. We got RV, a camping stuff, on the brain How much of it we actually do. I hope we do, because we got to get our money's worth. Okay, i got camper problems. Now, guys, listen, you got to buy like special toilet paper, that whole thing. I'm overwhelmed, but in the best way. So we got that going on. We're gonna be camping, we're gonna be doing like senior and high school type things, which I, rachel I mean you've gone through this before me, so you'll have to be my like senior mom shaman, right, it's bizarre It's.

Speaker 2:

it's because you're like Oh, why what? Like I don't know.

Speaker 1:

Like like we didn't know that he was an adult.

Speaker 2:

All of a sudden I was like, Oh, okay, bye.

Speaker 1:

What do we talk about? I don't know what to do. And, to be fair, like it's already like you know, like he's 17,. He'll be 18 in January. He's got a job, he's got basically his own life now. So, like, as far as parenting goes, like we're really lucky because he's been so busy and just really a good kid, that we've already sort of taken like the bench position, like the parenting from the bench is sort of been where we've been already. But this just makes it like way more official, you know. So it's, it's gonna be an emotional year. Y'all just buckle up. Your girl is gonna be writing some bad poetry. I'd imagine You know all the things. But yeah, oh, go ahead.

Speaker 2:

I was like will you start your tarot endeavor?

Speaker 1:

Oh, you little turkey. So that was the other thing I was gonna share, because right now, this episode is actually about spilling our guts so that we can stay accountable to the shit we claim we want to do. So it's out in the world And you know, if you guys run into us, you can be like, hey, what about? blah, blah, blah? And I could be like, damn it, why did I say that on the podcast? But Rachel, if Rachel could wave a magic wand, she would make me YouTube's number one tarot reader, to the stars of which I have no interest whatsoever.

Speaker 1:

However, south Africa, south Africa, my hey, sliding to my DMs wake of FaceTime, i got you, but but the truth is, as you guys know, i kind of wrapped up my blog this year that I had shared.

Speaker 1:

I actually started my blog in 2013. So a nice, a nice 10 year, a decade, you know, just a nice solid brick of time where I was just writing and sharing my journey, and I wrapped that up this year And you know kind of have been treading water on what my next, like personal page passion project is going to be, and so I want to share with you guys because this is accountability and it's scary, but I am going to be taking our summer break as the opportunity to finish my book And so hopefully and this is the first time I've ever, i think talked about it, oh my God on a platform, like everybody who knows me in life, like knows, like right, your book already, we're sticking here in it, but I have it. I actually have more than one that is like in in, you know, in under construction, but my goal is to, by the time we get back together and get the band back together, that I will be able to launch that and share with the world.

Speaker 1:

So I feel really nervy and naked. saying that out loud, like officially, i don't like it. I much prefer to be making you feel naked and weird. So that is what I in my intention for this summer. Of course, we never know what the universe has in store, right, Jesse? do you want to share? Can I put you in the hot seat?

Speaker 3:

I knew you're going to do that. I would want to.

Speaker 1:

I know. Thank you.

Speaker 3:

Well, I guess my first goal is is to cater to our South African audience For the promotion and marketing Yes, yes, yes. If we want to talk rugby, I'm in Yes, priorities.

Speaker 1:

I'm here to give you a voice. Wait, rugby, yes, yeah, it's a big thing in South Africa.

Speaker 3:

Another goal of mine is to exploit Spill Your Guts audience or, excuse me, exploit more Spill Your Guts co-hosts. Because we're creating shows for another person that came on the show.

Speaker 1:

Oh, okay, that's a little teaser.

Speaker 3:

Ew, i don't know anything about it, but I well, you've only had two people come on to replace Rachel. Who are those two?

Speaker 1:

Oh, okay, that's a clue, that's a So, if you listen to Spill.

Speaker 3:

Your Guts episode, you'll be able to find out who the next podcast is People.

Speaker 1:

People also. let this be your sign If you're listening and you've been thinking to yourself I would love to start a podcast. I want to do a podcast. I could do way better than these hosts Listen. you could reach out to Jesse immediately. Everybody says, oh, it's saturated. The world has a million podcasts. Guess what?

Speaker 3:

Your voice is unique. Yes, your voice is unique, no matter what you think. You are different And I'm here to exploit that.

Speaker 1:

Yes, I love it. I love a shameless club. Good job. Look at you coming out of your shell and doing the uncomfortable thing.

Speaker 3:

Well, and the other part is is I am digging deeper into the digital marketing realm, so there might be other services I can offer, but I can fully disclaim that yet.

Speaker 1:

Oh my God, The Easter eggs are bound, Jesse. Ok, I'm all about plant and seeds.

Speaker 3:

It takes a while for plants to grow, but you have to plant seeds, correct?

Speaker 1:

Oh my God, And a fricking analogy. Even Who are you? Are you caffeinated Celsius? Hello?

Speaker 3:

I used to like doing this, i just didn't want to be on the other side of the mic.

Speaker 1:

We love you. Oh my gosh. Ok, so that's exciting. My next question, though, for you both. So, jesse, i want you to prepare your heart because I'm coming for you after Rachel. Ok, ok, just to keep the theme going. As much as we all hate it, i got to do it, since we're going to be tapping back in in September and season three will guide us throughout the rest of 2023.

Speaker 1:

My question to you guys for this season two wrap up show is how has your 2023 word of intention shown up for you this year? And obviously, i'll share mine first. I'll share mine first She'll out. When I chose one, i didn't choose it. Actually, let's be clear.

Speaker 1:

When the word faith was impressed upon me by the forces of the universe that are supernatural and I had to reluctantly submit, i felt very reluctant, right, reluctant pilgrims. Here we are again. I felt very reluctant to like, adopt that word for my, you know, guiding word this year, because that particular word of faith like meant something to me. You meant something specific in another lifetime, right, but I knew that like, the faith piece, you know, was the only way to open and unlock the door to freedom of resentment, and I don't know if I had the language to explain that back in January or December, when we were closing out 2022, right, but there is something to be said for the way that faith has surprised me and shown up in all kinds of different ways.

Speaker 1:

And there was a little moment up at the retreat last month where I kind of had a little full circle moment of like my old life, like my old, you know, experience as being a youth pastor for 10 years and serving in ministry, with my husband doing women's ministry and kids ministry, being, you know, like sort of feeling, like all those days were behind me, you know, and the faith was going to have to look drastically different, right, like the opposite pendulum swing thing. And I have a really good friend of mine who moved. She made the decision to move out of the country And before she moved she came over so we could spend some time together because I don't know when I'll get to see her in person again.

Speaker 1:

And of course we did a big fat juicy terror reading like, you know, like what's waiting for you in this other country, and it was super fun And she, you know we had just a really special visit before she left And her reading ended up having a lot of like biblical symbolism in it And, like Mary Magdalene, like the energy of, like the spirit, you know, the ascended master of like Mary Magdalene, like kind of she kept showing up in her reading which, like the energy of Mary Magdalene, is a lot of like like divine, feminine, like we're healing, like our hearts and our like womb space and we are, you know, healing, healing our bodies and our relationship with our bodies and taking power back in our body to allow ourselves to enjoy like pleasure and love, and like it's just really like I don't know, it's just really special energy.

Speaker 1:

But like she didn't really know who it was. So I got really passionate as I do, you guys know, i go off on my tangents and I got to like explain to her like who Mary Magdalene actually was like in the biblical sense And then what I've learned about her spiritual essence since. And my friend says, you know, when we're all done with the reading, she was like dude, you like I couldn't have my cards read by anyone else because you have like all this other knowledge And it like kind of just I don't know why it just like hit me some type away where I realized that like, and I like knew this logically, but I like felt it finally in my body, like in my spirit, like that that time, you know, in church, culture was not wasted Right, Like it was exactly what I needed at the time, almost like the first stepping stone to like the faith that I have now.

Speaker 1:

And it's just because it's not like where I stayed and, like you know, planted my flag, right. I've moved on beyond that since then. But like I don't have to literally throw baby Jesus out with the bathwater, right, like like there's so much good stuff that I've learned about being a leader and about being a person of faith from that time in my life that is showing up and like spring, like Jesse with your seeds, right, It's like starting to sprout after these like dark years underground, right, these things are starting to sort of sprout and like show themselves. And I just thought, oh my God, that's a sweet thing for me to think about. Like right that this biblical knowledge is helping me, you know, show up in this other way.

Speaker 1:

And then we went up to the point and Chris said jokingly, like you know, warmly, it was like a little endearment moment. She referred to me as the pastor of the point. Yeah, and I just like, instead of cringing like I probably maybe would have done a year ago, i just really took that in and it was like really special to me. So, as much as I don't want to admit it, guys, my lieutenant Dan fist, waving at God in the storm right Has proven to be become really sweet for me, so I'm excited to see how the rest of it plays out.

Speaker 2:

You know, I love it. It's been amazing to see you kind of like, develop and embrace that maybe not even consciously over the last year. Even even watching you speak at the point was just so like there was authority. You know what I mean. Like you are the subject matter expert here And I don't know if I've seen that energy from you.

Speaker 1:

Well, thank you. Oh my God, I'm literally blushing, But thank you for saying that because it was really. You guys know, it's been like my struggle, like I'm not qualified, Who am I Like feeling? all weird about it And then, sort of like, the energy that I had going into that retreat was like no step into your authority. So you saying that is very specific because that's how I felt, like actually I I'm gonna, and so thank you for seeing that, because I feel much better now. Okay, resistance is a hell of a thing.

Speaker 2:

We had a long dark winter. Dude, it was dark.

Speaker 1:

Seasonal depression is real.

Speaker 2:

Okay, okay Also.

Speaker 1:

ADHD. Stay tuned, stay tuned for next season as we embark. Tune for that journey. How about you, friend, like how? how has your word shown up for you as we are at this, like midpoint in 2023?

Speaker 2:

So my word was magnet And I was. So, of course, here we are about to freak out. But I had kind of like researched its spiritual meaning after I chose it. But sometimes I'm like I don't know, maybe there is something here, and I keep this little thing in my notes, like it's just like a little. I guess I would call it kind of a meditation of sorts. But I'm rereading it now, and let me just read the first sentence Yes, yes, yes, there's going to be a word in here that I've been grappling with, so does it start with a P?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yep.

Speaker 1:

I'm sorry.

Speaker 2:

Magnetism is a drawing uplifting, expanding power.

Speaker 1:

Bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, and here we are.

Speaker 2:

Oh my gosh okay.

Speaker 2:

Because I had talked about my enneagram, that word came up and I You didn't like it. Yeah, i didn't like it, but as I'm rereading this now, it literally talks about power the whole time. So it's talking about like through, essentially through its divine power, you can accomplish in your life and materialize your ambitions. And God, or source magnetic, you can actually draw in universal source, godly power into you and then radiate it back to others. So it was like and then repel, naturally repel what shouldn't be there, what's not meant to be drawn, drawn in and then re-expressed. Because I think, i think I've just been thinking about like what I draw in, but then it's also after that what I put back out.

Speaker 1:

Oh, that's so good.

Speaker 2:

So I was just thinking about like the kind of messages you know, use meditation and be of service And you will be in magnet drawing in all that's good and also pushing that back out for other people to call in. So I cannot believe ahead. Well, i guess I hadn't. I haven't read it since I've been back from the point, but like now that I'm looking like the word powers in this little thing, like Well, you had to kind of make peace with power in order to really like, like trust, fall into being the magnet.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's wild, oh my gosh. Even if we had talked about this two weeks ago, yeah, you would have missed that little piece, because the power, the confrontation with power, was very significant for you.

Speaker 2:

And I've been like I've been reading it, but it's hitting me different now.

Speaker 1:

Oh my gosh, i love it. It's so interesting to I hung out with somebody over the weekend who listens, and she also has chosen a word along with me for the past few years. She was sharing how I mean all the ways her word was showing up for her, and certainly not in the way we ever expect, right.

Speaker 1:

But it was very, very, very potent for her And it's what made me think about it. Like you know how this thing kind of does like continue to show up all year And it just really I don't know. When you look back, she she had suggested like she went back and looked at all the words she had chosen in the past few years And kind of kind of like look backwards at all of them like together as a sequence And it really is like like a masterpiece a way to like catalog the different like seasons of your life.

Speaker 1:

It's kind of wild when you think about it.

Speaker 2:

It's crazy. Yeah, it's a good way to like hold those memory, my memory.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, like I know what year was that Was it the magnet year. Yeah, no exactly That's what I'm saying. The first time I ever did this, the word that I chose was decide. And then, after, like, when I thought about them all, like we could, you know, i could figure it out. I don't know them all right now, i'd have to dig around, but it was really interesting to see. I mean, it's a powerful, powerful like process to go through and adopt. So, all right, jesse, you're up.

Speaker 3:

Full disclaimer to our audience. Rachel and Mandy create notes amongst themselves before every episode. I don't get these notes shared with me.

Speaker 3:

I'm sorry, it's true, but with that said, he didn't know, he didn't know. So my word was simplicity. And if I were to self-evaluate myself, as you guys know, you two know, i'm an, a diagram eight. So very logical, very step by step, should be a simple process. But also I do keep myself accountable. So when this conversation came up I was like I'm going to have to hammer myself because I don't feel, as I practiced my word like I should. But then, as you two spoke, just the acknowledgement of keeping myself accountable to the word. And I'll realize just in this 30 second conversation that I have somewhat lived up to the word.

Speaker 1:

Yes, i'm actually really proud of you for sharing that the way you did. I'm not trying to interrupt you, but you brought up something very, very important for this as a practice. If anybody who's doing it along with us or wants to in the future, that it's really not something that you have to do, it's got to be there. It just kind of like is the theme that follows you through the year, right, it's the intention, is there. It's nothing you have to practice or do. It just inevitably shows up. Correct, right. So thank you for saying that.

Speaker 3:

So you two ladies have kept me accountable. Now, yes, just in this knee jerk reaction To get me involved.

Speaker 2:

Okay, so I'll add you to the note.

Speaker 3:

No, i like it, gosh, no, and the reason I don't Just say so. So, talking about podcasting in general, you can't notate everything out. Yeah, so I would be a severe hypocrite if I totally hammered you for giving, not giving me notes on how to present, because a general theme in podcasting is authenticity. Yes, and authenticity creates accountability, and that's why we're here today.

Speaker 1:

Wait a minute, wait a minute, whoa Hold on a second?

Speaker 2:

What the fuck.

Speaker 3:

You just said authenticity is something that you need to be accountable to yourself for, so that is why that is a general principle in podcasting and storytelling. That's what these elements are. So just by you two, bringing this up has brought everything full circle to me achieving my word of the year.

Speaker 1:

Oh my God, i like totally meant to do that on purpose.

Speaker 3:

I can't hit the buttons when I'm speaking. Oh my God, brrr, brrr, brrr, brrr, brrr, brrr.

Speaker 1:

Brrr, brrr, brrr, brrr, brrr, brrr, brrr, brrr, brrr, brrr, brrr, brrr, brrr, brrr, brrr, brrr, brrr, brrr, brrr, brrr, brrr.

Speaker 3:

Brrr, brrr, brrr, brrr, brrr, Brrr, brrr, brrr, brrr, brrr, brr, Brrr, brrr, brrr, brrr, brrr together again.

Speaker 1:

Maybe that's our gift to the world, rach, maybe we do our podcast during the winter cold months so that everybody doesn't drastically get bummed out. And you know, no, i'm just kidding, but it's really cool to have this platform because we have been able to, like sort of follow each other And, like you say, hold each other accountable to this thing that we invited everybody else to do. So if you're out there and you have chosen a word, please slide into the DMs on our Instagram page. We'd love to know how you are seeing your word show up.
