Ep. 99 Trump Takes a Bullet for Democracy, Democrats Take a Dive: The Biden Exit Saga

Today on The Civics Nexus: Joe Biden just dropped out of the presidential race, and we're all left wondering if he’s even still alive. After Trump politically assassinated him at the debate, Biden’s only sign of life is a lone post on X. His schedule is empty, his cabinet is having secret meetings, and his staff didn’t know about the dropout. Meanwhile, KJP, the ever-flustered press secretary, is probably hitting the bottle hard because today’s press briefing is going to be a massacre.
We’ll dissect the chaos this causes in the Democratic Party, painting a vivid picture of their internal disaster. What does Biden’s withdrawal mean for the Democrats? What political maneuvers are likely to unfold, and how will they affect the 2024 election landscape?
Next, we’ll dive into an educational segment on what a "Red Wave" would look like and why voting red down the ballot is crucial. Trump’s potential impeachment on day one, despite taking a bullet, emphasizes the importance of securing the House and Senate. We’ll break down the roles of the House of Representatives, the Senate, and the Executive Branch, highlighting the importance of understanding our political system to safeguard our democracy.
Then we explore why Biden's struggle took so long. The steal in 2020 only worked because Biden’s higher polling numbers made it “plausible.” Few rational people believe Biden actually won given the bellwether counties data and countless other inconsistencies, but from the steal standpoint, it was close enough to be believable to a segment of the population. But if they keep Biden now with these poll numbers and go for another steal, no one will believe it because the result would be so different from the polling. This internal fight seems to be about finding a candidate who can poll higher, making any potential steal plausible and thus believable to enough people. If the results don’t match the polling by a significant variance, judges might actually hear election cases this time around instead of dismissing them on standing and other technicalities. They can’t risk that with Biden, so they have to get him out.
Then, we shift our focus to Kamala Harris. With Biden out, what’s next for Kamala? Her troubled history and infamous word salads don’t inspire much confidence. We’ll connect the dots between her political past and the challenges she faces ahead, revealing why she might not be the Democratic savior they hope for.
