And just the other day, I was joking with my son about how I had grown extra arms when he was born (one for him, one for the diaper bag, one for my stuff, one for the mail, one for my water cup, one for the groceries, … you get the idea, I’m sure.)
Well, Power Moms not only develop these superpowers (which also include crazy multi-tasking, memory challenges from the kids’ routines, conflict resolution, you name it…, but they then parlay those superpowers into other successes for themselves, their families, and their communities.
And, we don’t stop there! A Power Mom also helps other moms achieve and succeed. The happier and healthier you are (emotionally, physically, mentally, financially, or otherwise), you’ll be a better mom. How to Deal with Distractions at Work:
- Create a distraction-free ritual: Tame distractions in advance.
- Set three daily intentions: Use the Rule of Three to focus on what's important.
- Reduce distractions: Distractions can help soothe racing thoughts, but if they hinder presence, reduce them.
How to Be Comfortable with Distractions:
- Journaling: Pay attention to your thoughts for stress relief and emotional wellness.
- Meditation: Sit with challenging emotions to experience and let them go.
- Practice mindful eating: Focus solely on the act of eating.
- Pause screen time: Take control of your day by limiting distractions.
- Build a routine: Stay on track and feel empowered.
- Be aware: Become more aware of your thoughts.
- Be gentle: Don't beat yourself up for thinking about the past or future.
- Exercise: Use exercise as a form of meditation, focusing solely on the activity.
- Put up reminders: Use reminders to stay present.
- Spend time in nature: Connect with nature to anchor yourself in the moment.
- Schedule creative time: Engage in creative activities to celebrate the present.
- Keep practicing: Continue practicing presence without fear of failure.
