Our latest episode features an extraordinary guest whose story echoes the perseverance of biblical heroes, showcasing the potent blend of resilience and belief. They pull back the curtain on their personal struggles, recounting how the steadfast support of family and a spiritual upbringing served as a lifeline during the toughest of times. The narrative takes an uplifting turn as we explore the concept of divine timing and the growth that stems from life's hurdles. Joseph's tale from the scriptures provides a backdrop for a conversation on how faith can elevate us to unexpected heights, even from the depths of a prison cell. We ponder the mysterious ways in which each challenge may be secretly carving out our path to a grander design, encouraging listeners to hold onto hope and maintain a positive spirit through life's storms.

Speaker 1:

And so just going through all that and that one depression, I'm like God never left my side. My family they spoke life into me. My children, my auntie Carol. Sometimes she would come in and see me sleeping. After my divorce I didn't sleep in my room for a whole year. I would sleep on the couch and she would come in from midnight and I would see her looking over on me. She would always check on me. She would think I was asleep but she would always peep in check. I said look at her, check on me.

Speaker 2:

Y'all. That's where y'all were staying in the house over there, right? Yeah? Yeah, I know I used to drop off when we was getting off on midnights.

Speaker 1:

Yes, so she was always my angel. She's. It's been very, very important. She said we need you. I remember one time she was just like we need you, just don't give up, we need you. And that meant a lot to me.

Speaker 2:

And here I am today you know, listening to your story and listening to what you're saying, you got like a. I know it was more than twofold, but like a twofold story because, as I'm listening to you, I'm thinking about Job as well. You know he lost everything. You know what I'm saying and you know from my terminology, from things that I've heard from my past and everything. You would think that this happened over a long period of time, but it was like a year's time, so it was like boom boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom boom.

Speaker 2:

You know losing, know losing this, losing his wealth, losing his children. You know saying just just everything, but still had the fortitude, you know, to not curse god. You know what I'm saying because, as as you said earlier, like as a child, you know as a child and and you know, I know I can relate to what you're saying too to a certain extent. Like you know, back then I didn't know, you know what I'm saying that God had a calling on my life and that I was going. You know what I'm saying. I chose to go through some of the things that I went through but, as you said earlier, when we first talking, when we first started, you said that Carol used to go to church with Carol, you used to see her in her high heels and this and that, and so one thing that I would tell people is that it's the structure of coming up, because the Bible tells us, it says train up a child.

Speaker 2:

Child and the way they should go and when they get older they won't depart from it. That is very, very true, and so it was the structure coming up that he say you know as parents, as we are parents now, and you know our parents before us and their parents before them. It was the structure. If you raise, not saying that they gonna go off and do their own thing and get lost, you know what I'm saying, but because of what was put in them from the beginning, I will draw them unto me when it's time, you know. And so, like with the story that you say with Joseph, I would ask, cause there's many variables to the story of Joseph, so I'm gonna ask you one what part of the story of Joseph, would you say, relates to you more? Oh, my goodness, is it in the well? Is it when he had the colorful coats and everybody was jealous of him and all of that?

Speaker 1:

reading his story. All of that was intriguing to me, like just listening to how they did him, even the people that was close to him, him being the jealous child but being jealous of because he was his dad's favorite boy, and so a lot of it I can relate to, but I would say the most pivotal, the most pivotal one that stood apart for me was when he was accused of sleeping with the king's wife and he denied her and she lied and he got locked up and okay, well, that was my favorite part of that one was, everywhere he went he was favored Because I was the leader, no matter what situation he was in. Even when he was in prison, he was in charge. When he got into the Pharaoh's house, he was in charge. And so now he's locked up and he tells the two guys down there like look, hey, look out for me, y'all go tell the king about me. You know what I'm saying. Down there he like, dang, they ain't even tell the king about me. Like that's messed up.

Speaker 1:

But then what did the king need? An interpreter, an interpreter man. And guess what he said? Oh, I know somebody, and that right there is the reason I'm a co-owner of a learning center right now, because someone that had that kind of power was they had I need. I need her, I want her. I don't want her to come work for me, but I want her to be like right there, leading with me, not below me or beneath me, but with me. And so, and that's how I have an amazing business partner. Um, because God told me about that. He, he's like you're going to have a preschool. But I'm like, how am I going to pay for it? And the lady inboxed me Six months ago. She was like you're going to have a preschool. And I'm thinking, well, shoot, I got to get my credit up, I got to do this, got to do that. And I got a call in June. My school was open in August. All because of connection, all because of connection, all because someone came. They reached out to me because they needed something that I had.

Speaker 2:

And you know like, even with that, to piggyback on what you're saying, going back to the dungeon, like you say, you say how I'm gonna do this. I gotta give up. He already, he already know. So he already knows when this going to happen, just like he knew 21 years prior, before the phantom came, that he knew that it was going to be a phantom in the land and he knew that Joseph was going to be, that when he put in Joseph he was going to be the one to be second in command in Egypt. But the Bible say really he was first in command, he was overfilled. But you got to learn your position and be happy with it.

Speaker 1:

He was a very strategic man, very strategic man.

Speaker 2:

Everything, because God is. God is about order. Right, he is. And so, you know, as I look at you on Facebook at times and I see you, both of your sons, they, you know, every time you see them on Facebook they're smiling. You know what I'm saying, just happy.

Speaker 2:

And so you know, like, as you say, with all the things that you went through divorce, losing your parents, you know your brother, this and that and so you touched up on Joseph going into the dungeon and, as you say, and as it was said, that even when he went to the dungeon, he found favor with the guy that was running, that was over the prison. Yes, and so, even then this is the part that got me, rosetta is when they say one day he was talking about the two men and they say that he came to them and he saw that their counterus was down and I saw, you know, after reading this umpteenth million times, I had to stop and I had to think about that. I said wait a minute. So he saw that they was disturbed because this wasn't like an ordinary day.

Speaker 2:

This was uh, you know, they were sad today so I had to stop and think.

Speaker 2:

I say well, lord, they was happy in the prison every day for him to notice that today wasn't a normal day. And so, as I say that, to say that even in your trying times, you kept your head up, you kept the faith, you kept moving on with a smile on your face. You know what I'm saying. No matter how gloomy it may seem, he was with you. You know what I'm saying. No matter how gloomy it may seem, he was with you. You know what I'm saying. And so, even when you step onto a place, you know, like you say, I think it's only been two or three places that I've ever been, that I haven't been a supervisor. Or you know what I'm saying. Imagine it's only been a couple places that I've been. So it's like every time you step your foot on ground, god has already paved the way, saying hey, you may start off here, but that's not going to be your end result.

Speaker 2:

You know what I'm saying, not going in like oh I'm going to go into the pawn shop and I'm starting off as a clerk, not knowing like well God got you. You're going to be over this shop one day.

Speaker 1:

And your store manager that's your manager.

Speaker 2:

Now I'm going to remove them out the way and put you in that position, but going in we don't see that, but God does, though, and so you know. I think that, like what you said, with the things that you've been through, and even when other people counter us, it's down and you're in a position where you're like I don't deserve this. You know what I'm saying, because ain't that what you told them. You said I don't deserve to be here, I don't want to be here and I don't deserve to be here.

Speaker 2:

I don't want to be here and I don't deserve to be here, and so when y'all get out, you make sure that you tell them that you tell them that I'm in here. You know what I'm saying. When your dreams come to pass just like they did, and they left them in that three more years, how can you forget me? After your dreams came to pass, exactly how I told you that they were, and I'm still in that three years later.

Speaker 1:

It wasn't his time, you see what I'm saying, so like that's important. It is important. Sometimes we want what we want and we rush it, but it's all time. Everything is in divine time, and I'll tell everyone that.

Speaker 2:

Because you know, here's another thing too, and because they say that when he was in the prison and he came to the two guys and he said, well, isn't it God who interprets drink? And so he told him to tell him his dream, I said wait a minute. I had to sit back and say hold on, wait a minute. In the beginning it said that he had a dream Right. Hold on, wait a minute. In the beginning it said that he had a dream right. It never talked about up until this point that he could interpret dreams.

Speaker 1:

Interpret dreams, yep.

Speaker 2:

So why he in this place, when he feel as though he don't deserve to be and then he don't want to be? It was something moving in him that now he has another capacity that he had touched into, because he had went from having a dream to being able to interpret.

Speaker 1:

Interpret my God.

Speaker 2:

A purpose. A purpose, and so, like you say, you know, there are certain things in our life where we may feel like we're ready for something, we may feel like we're ready for the next move, but we're not ready yet.

Speaker 1:

Exactly, that is very true. I remember working in corporate America and I'm thinking like I'm sitting here working and making all this money for this company, and it was just. You know, although it was a good career and it was a good career and it was a good job and it was good paying money it required a lot of my time being home with my kids and just wanting to have more time with them, and I just remember wishing I was just home more. It just took a lot of my time with family. That passed. I thought I had more time and I just remember saying one day I'd just be glad when I could just one day work for myself, and at that time I didn't know in what way. I was always trying something outside of my job, like another, another, whether it was network marketing or something where one day I was able to walk away and work for myself. And now that time has come and now I'm able to employ people, and now I'm able to hire people and give someone else hope, the same way you know people did to me. So it kind of really set the platform for me, although it came with pros and cons, but the main thing was the foundation of learning how to be a business owner, because they would give you a store and say, hey, run it. So I was responsible for payroll, I was responsible for hitting budget, I was responsible for operating expenses and making sure we generated enough money to do that. And so now I get to take all of that lifelong lessons and apply it to my learning center. So I'm very grateful for that.

Speaker 1:

It was like a paid internship, but even in that teaching I would find myself teaching classes.

Speaker 1:

My manager would pick on me to go and teach a manager's class and I'll never forget one day he got to see me in my element and people would say have you ever thought about being a teacher? And I was so shy to tell them that, hey, I'm a college dropout, I wasn't schooled to be a teacher, but then life happened. Hey, I'm a college dropout, I was in school to be a teacher, but then life happened. So I didn't share that at that moment. But I had just put teaching on the back burner, thinking that I would never get back to it. But everyone around me noticed, like you never thought about being a teacher, I'm training now. I'm training in the posture. I'm training a lot of jewelry. I'm training a lot of look-ups now. You've never thought about being a motivational speaker or a teacher and I'm like wow, and so that was just confirmation that that has always been my purpose. Even in those situations, I still found myself operating in my purpose and you know and that's the thing too.

Speaker 2:

You know you just keep going and don't give up. You know and that's the thing that you didn't give up even with. You know all the trials and tribulations you know what I'm saying that you were faced with and you know that's what a lot of us you know what I'm saying we tend to do when we're facing so much stuff. But everybody, you know, but everybody has different levels. You see what I'm saying. And so, like a lot of times, you can go through stuff and don't have this word of God up in you, so you don't have anything to draw off of. You know what I'm saying Because we know that the Bible said that I would never leave you nor forsake you.

Speaker 2:

And so if I go into life and I go through things you know what I'm saying without that in me, I tend to fall deeper and deeper. You know what I'm saying, because I'm not acknowledging certain things. But then I can go through some things but I got this word you know what I'm saying To draw off he who is greatest in me Is greater than he who is in the world. So, no matter what I may be going through right now, I know you see what I'm saying that he can pick me up. You know what may be going through right now. I know, you see what I'm saying, that he can pick me up. You know what may be impossible for me is not impossible for him. You see what I'm saying, see it's a different type of draw.

Speaker 2:

It's a different type of draw, so sometimes we can go through some things, take some punches. You know what I'm saying, or whatever. And like you said earlier, like how did you come back from that? How is you still striving after this happened? How is you still striving after that happened? And, as you said earlier, you say it's not me, it's God that's in me, because he would not let me fail or fall, because he knew that he had a plan for Rosetta right now.

Speaker 2:

And I'm telling you right now, this is just the start oh wow, I received that yeah, this is just the start and I ain't trying to be no prophet or this, but I'm just. You know, I'm saying this is just the start. I received that, corey yeah, because you said something. You just said something. You say, uh, they like have you ever thought about being a motivational speaker? You know what I'm saying? Or things of that nature. It's coming, Get ready.

Speaker 1:

Yes, get ready. I repeat that.

Speaker 2:

Get ready. Yeah, so you know, I know it's late, I know you got to go to work tomorrow. I really appreciate you coming on the show. Anything else you may want to tell the fans? Wow?

Speaker 1:

I just want to tell anyone. I want to speak to that woman that's going through a divorce. She feels like it's death. There's no happy end at the tunnel. Allow yourself to go through it, Get through it. Go through it just to get to it. What's on the other side of it is God, and he's going to make sure that you're good to that person that suffered a significant loss.

Speaker 1:

You feel like you can't go through it. You're not motivated, you're depressed. Seek help, get therapy. Trust God, he has people in place to help us get through. Trust God, he has people in place to help us get through our trauma and things like that. If anyone had a dream and they just gave up, don't. It's never too late. I promise you I'm 46 years old, it's never too late. I have an owner of two educational businesses an online tutoring company and an early childhood learning center and we do accept volunteers as long as you pass a background check and you're extremely and you can find us on Facebook, but I think for the most part, I think that will pretty much be it.

Speaker 2:

What's the name of it again?

Speaker 1:

Mama's Bear Learning Center.

Speaker 2:

Okay, y'all hear that. Mama's Bear Learning Center. Okay, y'all hear that. Mama's Bear Learning Center. If you want to be a volunteer, you know you got a woman of God up in the house that's raising the kids the right way, training them up. You know we need more people like yourself. You know what I'm saying to start them off early. You know, as we were saying, it's still in um. I know y'all can't preach that in things in the schools and this and that Hold on Guess what Now?

Speaker 1:

because I don't work for anyone anymore and me and my business partner, we are fake people. There's a little leniency there, so that's another reason I always wanted to be my own boss, because I would see things that needed to be changed or things that I wanted to change, or things I just knew God put on my heart to do so. Every parent that has found out their kid knows that it's faith-based, and I get that clear before they even come into the center, and so a lot of my parents are faith people and when I say we have some amazing parents they love Ms Cox, they do whatever I ask them to do. So I do encourage that. What you're speaking of. I do encourage that, and the good thing is I can keep encouraging that as long as we have cash paying parents versus the government telling us what to do. If that makes sense.

Speaker 2:

That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. I really appreciate you taking the time out of your day coming on the CJ Money Way show. I really appreciate it. You told us that you're such a busy young lady. Tell Auntie Carol. I said what's up, I will Stay on for a second. Let me holler at you. Thank you all for tuning in to the CJ Money Way show.
