Do the Mavericks really provide the blueprint for the Warriors path back to title contention?

The Dallas Mavericks have been aggressive on the trade market over the past 15-16 months, leading them to a position at the pointy end of the playoffs after finishing 11th in the West last season. Should that therefore be proof that the Warriors too need to be aggressive themselves, or are the two completely different situations?
