In today's episode we reach new heights when Gino gets the opportunity for a one on one with the legendary Mandlankayise Walter Dube. Director, producer, co-screenwriter, Mandla (to his friends) is a writer and award-winning South African cinematographer. His diverse work includes documentaries, shorts, theatre and feature films. Mandla’s work in feature films includes Tsotsi, The Italian Job, Strike Back, Silverton Siege, Angel Heart, and Heart of the Hunter. His 2017 feature film, Kalushi won Best Film of South Africa and Best Original Song at the RapidLion Film Festival, and also won the Chairman’s Award at the Zanzibar International Film Festival. Mandla has also served as a lecturer in cinematography at both Wits Television and Tshwane University of Technology. He holds a Masters of Fine Arts in the same from the American Film Institute in L.A.
Mandla is currrently busy with Yasuke. the story of the only person of African ancestry to have reached the rank of samurai.
