We are definitely so excited that you are here with us this wonderful morning. We could even okay, you can either be morning that you're listening after noon nights. God bless you. If you're new to the podcast, I want to encourage you to go back and listen to our previous um three episode of the word become flesh. The first episode there we talk . It was an introduction episode where we definitely talk about why the word become flesh by cast, so you can go there and you're going to understand why this podcast. And then the second episode was excited. The second episode it was um. It was excited because God, because so holy God was reminding us that um, um, he was, uh, he was reminding us the great revive story of the Lazarus, where Jesus awakened Lazarus, where Jesus revival Lazarus spirit, right, which that was so amazing. So we talk about Lazarus, um, how to come out of your tomb, how to come out of your Lazarus. Oh, my goodness, it was very, very and excited. So now episode number three. Episode number three was very, very, super excited. We talk about, we talk about turn on your GPS, turn on your GPS, and the GPS was the Holy spirit, which was really, really excited guys, because, um, it was, it was an excited episode.

Um, uh, I I heard a lot of comment. People call me like, oh, I never seen the Holy spirit. Um, like the, like the living water, how you describe. So you know, somebody gave me that comment. It was like that was really a great revelation for me to see the Holy spirit as the water. You know, I give an example, like how I went to the gym and I couldn't breathe and how my, how my gym, uh, my gym trainer just killed me and he was telling me drink water, and then, when I drink water, I felt so refreshed and, and so I gave it an example how, that's how the Holy spirit is really actually not life. He refreshed us here, he refreshed our soul. You know, he, he, he's the one he bring us back to life, he's the one you bring back to life. So somebody reached out to me and say that was very a good um, a good explanation. I never seen the Holy spirit like that.

So, like today, I'm just so excited because, um, as I was going back, I was listening to the, to the episode of um of last week in September. Um, we're now in October and glory to God. I listened to the last week of September and the Holy spirit lies. The Holy spirit definitely corrected me about last week episode. You know, he was like okay, that's very good, he was. He, the Holy spirit told me that's very good.

But then, um, so like, I was like I was in, like in prayer. I was like okay, holy spirit, you talk about turning on the GPS. You know I was so excited, I was like so we talk about turning on the GPS, like, like, what's the next? What's the next topic we're going to talk about for the month of October? You know, I'm sick. I was just so like. I was like ginger up. I was like Holy spirit, what are we talking about the month of October and the Holy spirit.

Literally, guys, literally, I heard him loud and clear. He told me you, you, you told the people, you told the people about turn on the GPS. You told, you, told me, told the people about the Holy spirit. But you have to tell, you have to tell them how do you receive the Holy spirit, how do you receive, how to receive the Holy spirit. And I was like, oh, that's good, because me I was already. I was ready to like, because if, if you know another part of the gift of the Holy spirit, another part is speaking in tongue, I thought that the next one we're going to now start speaking in tongue. I'm like we got to go this big in town now. No, but the Holy spirit corrected me. He said, no, your next topic you're talking, you definitely talking about to the people how to receive the Holy Spirit. So isn't that excited that the Holy Spirit is actually with us through this journey, that it is not a journey of human spirit but the Holy Spirit, the desires, the is actually the heart of the Holy Spirit, the desire, the thing that he wants, he wants me to talk about. So I just found amazing about how God doesn't want to make this podcast about my knowledge, about what do I know about Him? So, and I was instructed to talk about how to receive the Holy Spirit, how to receive the Holy Spirit. So we are excited.

Welcome to your brand new month of October. Happy Monday. This is your first Monday of October, happy Monday. And I want you, this month of October, I want you to encourage you how you can walk with the, how you can receive the Holy Spirit. How do you receive the Holy Spirit? How do I receive the Holy Spirit? So excited, right, and I definitely have. I'll say I'll have six points for you guys. How do you receive the Holy Spirit? So let the Holy Spirit inspire and let the Holy Spirit lead. So, if without me, before I dive in into my six points, I am going to dive in into the Word of Prayer. I'm going to dive in into the Word of Prayer and we're going to let the Holy Spirit to take over, because this is all for the glory of God, this is all how the word become flesh. Hallelujah, amen, okay, okay, let us pray.

Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, lord, we want to thank you, my father, God, for brand new month of October, father, we want to thank you, my father, for why you have restored for us for this month of October. God, Lord, we want to thank you, my father God, for the month of October or you're already ahead of Lord that you already give us, my father God, you already give us the breath of life, which is the Holy Spirit. Oh Lord, the Father, that you already sent the Holy Spirit upon us this whole month of October. My father God, so, lord, we are just so excited that we are back alive in this month of God the Father, that you have allowed us to breathe until this time. My father God, because those that you give breath of life, those that you awaken their spirits, my father God, it is because there's still a great purpose. And ask, my father God, because, God, it is not over until when you say it is over, lord.

So, father, this morning, as we just want to focusing on how to receive the Holy Spirit, father, we invite the only one, the only one. We invite your spirit in this room right now. We ask, oh Lord, that the Holy Spirit will descend us. Oh Lord, we ask, oh God, that the Holy Spirit will anointing the words that will come out of this mouth my father, god, oh Lord, father, that there will not be the words that I speak base on my knowledge, but there will be the words base speak of the Holy Spirit, my father, god. So, father, come and receive your glory, come and receive honor, come and receive your adoration, my Lord, upon this podcast this morning. Holy Spirit, come and breathe on us, breathe on us, release your power, release your anointing in the mighty name of Jesus. Oh, fill up this room with your spirit, fill up this room with your wisdom, fill up this room with your kindness, fill up this room with your joy, in the mighty name of Jesus.

Holy Spirit, we are welcome you, you are welcome in this place. You are welcome among us. You are welcome in our voices. You are welcome in our living rooms. You are welcome in our cars. You are welcome in our washrooms. You are welcome, holy Spirit, right now, whatever, whatever, you are welcome in our offices. Holy Spirit, we are welcome. You are welcome in our workplace. Come, holy Spirit. Come, holy Spirit. Let you will be done. Your kingdom come and you will be done. In Jesus mighty name, we have pray amen, amen, amen. Let's dive in.

So my first point that I want to focus on is how do you receive the Holy Spirit? How do you receive the Holy Spirit? The first point is you receive the Holy Spirit in the first one. Before I jump into the first point, let us read the word. Let us read the word. We are going to read the book of John 14, verse 26,. It's very short, john 14, 26,. But the advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things, will teach you all things, will teach you all things. Amen.

The foundation of receiving the Holy Spirit is faith in Jesus Christ. The foundation of receiving the Holy Spirit is faith in Jesus Christ. You have you got to have faith in Jesus Christ in order for you to receive the Holy Spirit. Jesus promised to send us the Holy Spirit to be with us forever. He promised to send the Holy Spirit to be with us forever.

This is when, again, this is the time when Jesus was being taken to heaven. Suddenly Jesus died and then Jesus resurrected and he was the last time he was with the disciple. You know he was with his disciple and he descend. And then he promised the disciple that he said even though I am leaving this earth, I am not leaving this earth. I'm not. I'm not leaving you alone, but there's, there's somebody else who's coming ahead of me, and that would be the Holy Spirit, right? So Jesus promised us that we are going to have the Holy Spirit forever. So he encouraged us to open our hearts to the Spirit. We must first believe in Christ as our Lord and Savior. We must first believe in Jesus as our Lord and Savior in order for you to receive, in order for you to receive the Holy Spirit.

Our second point on receiving the Holy Spirit, it will be a repentance. You have to repent, repent and be baptized, which this one is found in the book of Acts 38, where Peter, peter if you have read the, the story of book of 238, this is where the disciple, this is where they got that command from Jesus to tell them before you go out there, before you go out there to preach, you have to, you have to wait upon the Holy Spirit, you have to wait upon my spirit. You know so, but in Act, book 238,. So these people there were the people that were asking Peter, peter, command them that, in order for you to receive this wonderful gift, repent and be baptized, every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of our sin, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. And you receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Repent and be baptized as a child of, as a child of God.

There's two way of there's two way of us being baptism. First, you get baptism by the water, so when you're batting by the water, that's when you acknowledge it as Jesus, as your Lord and your personal savior. And our second baptism will receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit. When you receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit, that's when you receive a new tongue of speaking. You receive a new tongue of speaking in the Holy Spirit. Oh, my goodness, it is a beautiful. It is the most beautiful language ever. Once you receive it, you can sing into it. It is the most beautiful. Anyways, we very soon we will do, we will talk about how you, how you, speak in tongues. So Peter was encouraging here. He was reminding us repent and be baptized, our crucial step of your journey, of you receiving the Holy Spirit. Be baptized, every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sin, and you receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Baptism is a symbol of our identification with Christ's death and resurrection of the spirit, rebirth, amen. So that is your repent and be baptized and you receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Now the third. The third point of receiving the Holy Spirit is the is prayer and seeking God. Praying and seeking God. And this, this is it's found in Luke 11, 13. If, if, then if then you are evil, know how to you know how to give good gift to your children. How much more will your father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask? So, praying and seek, praying, praying and seeking God. Praying is our communication with God. It is through prayer that we can earnestly seek, and we can earnestly seek the Holy Spirit through our prayer. Right, jesus, remind us that that, if we are evil, we know how to give good gift, good gift, to our children. How much more will your father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him, those who are most some, some people, some Christian, most people, most children of God?

We're afraid to ask the Holy Spirit because we feel like if we ask for the Holy Spirit, then we will get another, another spirit. See, see, heaven doesn't operate with possessed spirits, you know. So that's where, that's where God is emphasizing here is saying that if we, we have an evil thinking mind, if we can, if, if our children can come to us and ask us for a bread, will you give your child a snake? So this is where Jesus is encouraging us. He's saying that in order for you to have the gift of the Holy Spirit, you got to ask. And and when you're going to ask, he's not going to give you the spirit of possessed mind. No, he will give you a good spirit, he will give you a good spirit, he will give you the Holy Spirit. You're not going to receive no other, no other spirit, but the Holy Spirit. So God is telling us. So, if you think evil, but why would you? Why would you come in my, asking my name, and then you think that I'll return you back with an evil gnome? So he's asking us to seek God. Seek God in, in, in presence, in prayer, by inviting your the Holy Spirit in our life. Amen.

Our fifth point it will be surround and obeyed in. You have to be surrounded in obeying in order to receive the Holy Spirit. Right, this one is found in look 532. It says we are witness of those things and so is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey him. Those who obey Him, those who obey Him, surround and obey Him to receive the Holy Spirit. We must be, we must be willing to surround our will to God, surround your will to God, not my will, but your will. You're surrounding it to God. It states that we are witness of these things. So is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him. Obedience is a sign for our, of our submission to God's guidance. Obedience, it is a sign for us, our submission to guidance. So you got to obey, you got to surround yourself in obedience in order to receive the Holy Spirit, in order, how to receive the Holy Spirit.

Now a sixth point. It's going to be community and spiritual growth. Community and spiritual growth. This one, it's fun. Again back in the book of act 242, as you can see, when Peter command in them to, when Peter command them in this, in this wonderful chapter of act 242, he recommend them to repent. After, when they repent, they devote themselves, apostle in teaching and to fellowship, into the break and breaking of bread and to prayer. They devote themselves in a community. So, in order to receive the Holy Spirit, community and spiritual growth. Community and spirit will. In order for us to receive the Holy Spirit, we have to be in a community, and community help us to grow in spiritually. Community, help us to grow in spiritually.

And this is where the church comments. And this is where that I'm saying that this walk of Christianity, we cannot do it alone. You need a community, you need to plug yourself into a community. Now listen, if you were once upon a time little girl like me, me you think that's no man, I don't need the church, I'm good by my own, I can stay home by my own, I can grow by my own. No, the Bible say do not, don't forsake the fellowship of your brother and sisters, right? So community is, it is asked to engage into, into the church. The church, that's where we come together, where we grow together as one. We grow together as one body, one body in Christ. And in order for us, in order for us to receive the Spirit and the Holy Spirit, we have to have a community.

Mariam Kapongo: 19:54

The journey of receiving the Holy Spirit is not a journey of solitary. It's not a journey of solitary. You don't have to fight alone and do not allow the devil to tell you you do not need the body of Christ, because that is the life from the pit of hell. That's how the devil is getting this generation Generation. That's he want to let us know that I can do, you can do it all alone. No, we cannot do it all alone. Even Jesus did not do it alone. Jesus had 12 disciples and then he had a big mega church where he would go, he would preach. So even Jesus did not walk alone. Okay, do not allow the enemy to put you into that isolation mindset, because, guess, that's, that's why COVID, like COVID, really really just did that. He just put people to isolation, think that we don't need people. We don't need people, we don't need anybody. You know we can do this alone, alone, alone. You're not meant to do life alone.

And that's where, and that's why part of the gift of the Holy Spirit encourages engage yourself in the community, right, engage yourself in the community. We grow spiritual in the community, in a company of believer. It tells us that early Christians devote themselves to the episode, teaching fellowship and praying together. There is power in togetherness. There is a there's a wonderful book out there that my spiritual mom written. It's called Cernogy. It's called Cernogy. Cernogy is the word. Can two work together? At least they agree, you got to agree. So, working with the Holy Spirit, you have to be in agreement, right, and that's why there is God the Father, there's God the Son and there's God the Holy Spirit. Community, baby Get yourself, plug yourself into community and that's how you receive and that's how you receive, and that's how you receive the Holy Spirit. It's through community.

Do not walk alone. Do not walk alone. Encourage you Really, really. I'm pushing you through this because, guys, this was my journey in 20 and 2019. I went through a journey thinking that I can do life alone, I can do it by myself. Like that was my journey 20, 20 and 19, 20. I was like I can do it by myself. No, but you cannot do it by yourself. You need a community. You need you If you are experienced church trauma too, because I know a lot of us we could be, we could be traumatized based on church experience.

If you experience church trauma, that is okay to to have trauma and this is where you can actually come and ask the Holy Spirit. Be like Holy Spirit. I am missing this community of of church, but I'm hurt and this is where the Holy Spirit come and you know and and really and really guide us and give you and give you a good community where you can go, and then you can grow your faith or you, or simply he can give you the instruction to obey and stay where you are and and from there he will give you an instruction. But let us, let us not think that we can walk alone in this journey of Christianity. We cannot walk alone, right, so we cannot walk alone. Get yourself into a community, plug yourself into a community if you don't, if you don't have a community, and also to community. Community can be the word. You can flash podcasts. We're a community here. We grow together in faith. So it is a community, but encourage us so in.

In conclusion, in conclusion, receiving the Holy Spirit is a journey that begin with faith in Christ. It continued through repentance and baptism. It thrived in prayer and seeking God, depending on surround and obedience, and flourish and flourish in Christianity. Community. It's a life. It's a lifelong to be fulfilled with the presence of the power of God. It is a lifelong. It is a lifelong to fulfill with the presence of God. Let us remember the word of Galatians, 5, 22, 23, that it command us. It says that the fruit of the Holy Spirit. It is love, it is joy, it is peace, it is forbade, it is kindness, it is goodness, it is faithfulness, it is gentleness, self-control. As we receive the Holy Spirit, may these fruits manifest in our lives, transforming us to be more like Christ. May each of us, in our own unique way, open our hearts to the Holy Spirit presence, and may our faith in the journey be a testimony to the word of transformative power of God's love. God is love and God love you.

Now, if I emphasize so much in community, because, guys, that's where I was in 2019. I really did not have a community, I did not have a guidance. You know, I didn't have it all, but I knew I knew a new church. I knew a new church because my previous church that I was, you know, lots of pain, lots of hurt. But then 2019, hate, covid, covid, covid came in. Then I was like, oh, look at God, who needs church. You know, that's where my isolation journey just started.

And, trust me, when you isolate yourself and you walk alone, you're not, you're not, you're not gonna make. That's where, that's what the devil wants. The devil want to isolate you so bad, away from your destiny and once the devil isolate you, it is hard for you to see clarity of your destiny. It is hard for you to see clarity of your destiny. Luckily, like for me, for me, the Lord connected me back with a great community, my great community that I walk with. It's my personal home church and I feel free. If you are in Edmonton, you live in Edmonton you don't have a home church. Definitely you don't have a community. I want to welcome you to make Cornerstone Christian Church of God your community. This is where I am learning all these deep revelation, like the word there. The thing that I like about Cornerstone when you walk in, they don't really force you. It's the word of God. Really do transform you every day. That's what I really like about Cornerstone.

When I walk to the church, I walk in with so much anger and so much bitterness. I was done with church. I was like God, I'm done. I'm done. I'm done with church. I'm done with pastors. I'm done with all of them. I'm just done. So just leave me here alone. Allow me to be watching my TV, allow me to be out. I was just reading my Bible in my house. I did not feel the need of church again until when the Lord really take me through this journey. But more of my testimony, guys, you will definitely hear more of my testimony. My testimony is completely long and I feel like it's just a right now. It's just a life journey that I am just awakened. Everything that I basically talk on this podcast of the word become flesh, I always went through it. The story of Lazarus. I went through it in June. That's when the Lord really revival my soul. That's when the Lord started to give me and putting a vision of the word became flesh out of this podcast.

So if you are in Edmonton and you don't have a community, you don't have a church, I want you to. Well, I want to welcome you to Cornerstone Christian Church of God. You're already a community.

So let's grow strong, you know. Let's grow strong, let's elevate the kingdom of God. Togetherness, with strongness, with the power of the Holy Spirit. With the power of the Holy Spirit, I want to make the devil cry. I want to. I want my goal with this, with my generation and the next generation to come, it's really to stand up and to show off Jesus and to just tell devil you are a loser, you're a liar. You are a loser, you're a liar. Go back to hell, where you belong. That's like that's just my excitement. I want to make Satan cry. I want to make Satan cry. I want, I want to take the kingdom of God by force. I don't, I don't want to play with the devil. No more. I don't want to give him no more chances. Honestly, guys, there's no time to give him chance anymore because let's take seriously, jesus is definitely coming. He is returning back. I promise you he is returning. He is coming back.

Don't allow the enemy to deceive you and say there is no, there is no. Jesus doesn't exist. There is a man out there. His name is Jesus. He was definitely died for your sin. He died for you and me and he's going to return back. He's giving us a chance to awake. He's awaken our souls. He's awaken our spirit through the power of the Holy Spirit. So I encourage you, rise up where you are right now I mean, if you are just in the darkness and you're like no man.

Church people are fake. No, not all church people are fake, trust me. Not all church people are fake. Don't allow that narrative to grow inside your heart. Do not allow the narrative to grow inside your heart that church people, they are fake, they are liars, they are not fake.

So I want to encourage you let this word, let the word of God arise, come out of your tomb, listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit.

That the kindness of the Holy Spirit guide you this month of October and this month of October it's mostly a dangerous month. It's a month that you have the celebration of Halloween, where we lose a lot of kids and there's just a lot of confused, a lot of spirit. But this month, allow the Holy Spirit to walk with you. Walk with the power of the Holy Ghost. Walk with the power of the Holy Ghost. Walk with the boldness of the Holy Spirit. Walk with the boldness of the Holy Spirit. Walk with God, the Father. Walk with God, the Son and God, the Holy Spirit and the blood of Jesus. Do not be deceived by the force of this dark word. Do not be deceived by the enemy. Do not be deceived by the devil, do not be deceived by him. Walk with God the Father, and God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, and be blessed. May the Holy Spirit continue greeting inside of you.
