Speaker 1:

Good morning everyone. Welcome to a short but sweet episode of Bites and Body Love. Today I want to talk about your pie chart, your pie chart of life, where you're putting your energy, and I just want to chat about where you're at with that and where you want to go. So often I tell people about why I'm so passionate about helping people with their relationship with food and body, and the reason I am so passionate about this is because I'm very passionate about helping people use their one life, their days that could be numbered, just all the energy that they have to give back to the world and themselves. I want that to be used for them and we are held back so often with our time, energy, finances, openness, and it's taken up by this noise around food and body and diet. Culture and disordered eating is so pervasive, along with body image struggles, and oftentimes it takes over our pie chart. So let's discuss and I have some questions for you to assess your own pie chart. I want to know where you are currently at. So if you can envision a pie chart, a circle I want you to fill that in in your mind of where your energy goes from day to day. Where are you at with that. Ask yourself from day to day, on a typical day to day, or think of your week or your month where is your energy, energy being spent, both actually your physical energy, what you're doing, but also your mental energy. Where is that going? So take a second to ask yourself that is it going to your hobbies? Is it going to people you love? Is it going to people you love? Is it going to taking care of yourself? Is it going to travel and adventure and fun? Is it going to reading and exploring? Is it going to fighting for things you believe in? Where is that energy going? That energy going? What about your mental energy? What are you thinking about from day to day? Where are your thoughts going? Where do you spend a lot of time with your thoughts?

Speaker 1:

And now I want to ask you specifically around food, exercise and body image. What does that look like? Where you spend your time? Is it around cooking meals that you love, engaging in meals with your family, friends, significant others? Is it enjoyable? Is your exercise enjoyable? Does it feel intuitive? What does that look like for your exercise? It feel intuitive. What does that look like for your exercise? Now, how about body image? Do you spend time thinking about your body? When you do, is it appreciating your body, celebrating your body?

Speaker 1:

And most likely, if you're listening to this podcast, it's because you're struggling with your relationship with food, body image, exercise, overall, trusting food in your body, and therefore, I'm sure a lot of you can say that a lot of your pie chart is being taken up in some way or another by body shaming, body image distress, counting calories, over-exercising, hyper-focusing on food, trying to figure out how the heck to navigate food binging, restriction, confusion, researching the next diet. And I want to ask you, if this is you, what does that look like? How much energy does that take? What does that look like? How much energy does that take? Do you find that you don't have energy or time or the ability, due to this distress, to go after hobbies, relationships, goals, your ideal pie chart? I want you to sit with that for a second. I want to ask you how long have you been? How long has your pie chart looked like this for you? A year, two years, three years, four years, more than that?

Speaker 1:

You have the ability to change your pie chart through effort, work and doing things differently, if you haven't been able to change your pie chart.

Speaker 1:

With what you have been doing jumping from diet to diet, continuing to distrust your body and not lean into body trust, not getting the support you need your pie chart is going to continue to look like it does and your energy, your sacred energy, is going to continue to go to those areas we don't want it to go to.

Speaker 1:

So I want to name today that it's important to raise awareness around what your pie chart looks like and what you want it to look like, because you do have the ability to change it and awareness around this is everything, and we can't change the pie chart overnight, but we can slowly change it so that it transforms into what you want your pie chart of energy and life to look like.

Speaker 1:

And if you are so ready to have that pie chart you want and get rid of the distressing thoughts around food and body and behaviors and become an intuitive eater, become a person that enjoys food and trusts food and trusts your body and has a compassionate relationship with yourself and your body. If you are so ready for that, I want to invite you to apply to our program True Food and Body Image Freedom for Everybody by going to jamierdcom and the application is there.
