Mysticism is a spiritual, or philosophical belief and practice that involves experiencing a direct, personal, and intuitive connection with divinity, truth, or ultimate reality

As religion is the politics of spirituality, mysticism is often characterized by the pursuit of an intimate and transformative union with the divine or a higher power.

Mystics may use various practices or techniques, such as meditation, contemplation, prayer, and rituals, to deepen their spiritual experiences and access deeper levels of consciousness or awareness. The mystical experience is typically described as beyond ordinary sensation and intellect, involving a sense of oneness, ecstasy, or ineffable knowledge. Mysticism is found in various religious traditions, such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, Judaism, and Sufism, but it can also be present in secular or non-religious contexts.
