SPEAKER_03I am Matt Conrad. And Matt, who did you find today? Oh we got some uh some interesting people here today with us. Uh why don't you guys introduce yourselves? Because this is uh yeah.
SPEAKER_01I'm Amy Murphy, and I'm Tanya Steymore, and we are the Soul Seekers Paranormal. You pick up the paranormal. I don't know. Soul Seekers Paranormal.
SPEAKER_05Soul Seekers Paranormal. Okay, second question. What's that?
SPEAKER_00We seek souls.
SPEAKER_05We seek souls.
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_05How?
SPEAKER_00Uh usually graveyards, abandoned buildings.
SPEAKER_05So we're not talking living souls. This is another matchmaker thing. This is you're seeking the souls that have left this realm.
SPEAKER_00Well, kind of. Okay. So it's kind of a play on words because we tend to gather people that are like us. And then we take them, invite them in the white van, and take them to a graveyard.
SPEAKER_05That's what they're doing with us. I'll take a moment to digest that for a minute. Um, Matt, we should tell the people where we are today. This is a new location.
SPEAKER_03Um uh yeah, so we are at the old triangle. Uh they have us in a little nice little room here. Like a booth with a closed door. So there's a lot of these in Ireland. This is actually very traditional in Ireland. Um yeah, and I'm drinking the uh whole fast, Garrison. And I'm just on the Galaxy Propeller.
SPEAKER_05And uh, what are you having?
SPEAKER_03We have something for you. I have nine lobster.
SPEAKER_05And you didn't even get to introduce yourself, sorry.
SPEAKER_02Uh Tara.
SPEAKER_05Hi. Thank you so much. Tara's hanging out with us. Camera woman. Camera camera woman. Yes. Yeah. And uh yeah, so cool. So how in the world did you guys out of world? Out of world. Like, how I don't even know where to start. Where where did you guys start in getting into this?
SPEAKER_01Okay. I'm sorry, how long do we have? Well, um, Tanya and I met four years ago. Almost five now. Five years ago. Holy cow, time flies. So five years ago, uh, we were doing some wellness events uh with a company that we worked with, and we um when we all got together, all of us were in the the the wellness industry, everyone was kind of spiritual. We actually didn't know that each other kind of liked this kind of stuff. And when we all got together, unbeknownst to us, uh, things just started happening. So we had we booked an Airbnb to do a wellness event.
SPEAKER_05Where did you book the Airbnb?
SPEAKER_01Uh in Fredericton.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_01So in Fredericton, we booked this Airbnb to do this wellness event, and we all felt kind of kind of odd in the space, but everyone was kind of just talking about it, but like, oh, this feels weird, this feels weird. And then after the event was over, just stuff just started happening in the Airbnb, and we were like, what was that?
SPEAKER_05Okay, you just elaborate for me, like what kind of stuff was happening?
SPEAKER_00God, like I I grabbed the dousing rods, so dousing rods you can like water with the road. People look for water or whatever. Yeah, yeah. And so they detect, yeah, they detect energy, and there's this one bedroom where none of us wanted to stay.
SPEAKER_05So you guys were all hanging on a wellness retreat, you guys all just happened to be into the same stuff, and you were all ready to go on this investigation together in a sort of sort of it all kind of uncovered as we went along.
SPEAKER_01We were all interested in the paranormal, but we were more into spiritual and wellness stuff. Okay, and when we got together to do this retreat, uh like the the house started doing things and like energy was swirling, things were happening. She had Tanya happened to have some dowsing rods with her, and you know, some of the girls had pendulums, and I didn't know what any of this stuff was at the time. I just was always interested in you know, ghosts and and the paranormal because I had some actual things happen to me when I was younger. Tanya grew up in a haunted house when she was younger and still does. So, like that stuff's cool backstories. We have backstories of of our lives, like with spirit stuff. Yeah, uh, so but we never really talked about it as a group until that night when we got together. All this stuff started happening, and uh when it was done, when it was all said and done, the crazy night happened. We all looked at each other and said, Man, like if we had to videotape that, like we should have videotaped that because no one would believe us. Like, this is a good idea. This was 2019. Okay, so cool. Yeah, uh yeah, 2019, 2018, 2019. And so we were just like, Whoa, like this is some crazy stuff that went down in this house, and I just wish we had a videotape this. So then the next wellness event we did, we booked another Airbnb just to kind of see what happened. That was Moncton, wasn't that one? Yeah, was it Monkton? Yeah, I think so, yeah. Uh in the blue house. Was it? And then so we booked another one thinking, what if we get together again? What if that stuff would happen again? So then we booked it again just to see what would happen, and sure enough, well and hold crazy stuff was happening in the house. So we videotaped it. So we started videotaping us getting together, going to these places where then we started purposely finding haunted places to see what would happen.
SPEAKER_05Places that were allegedly haunted, that that you know, you you you okay.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so it started off kind of we were put into these houses not knowing they were haunted, and then it would the houses uncovered themselves to us, and then we decided let's actually let's do this, let's do this for real, grab our cameras, see what happens, and then every time we got together, things would happen. And as the lat like the last five years, we've all grown in the gifts that we have, the things that we do, the things we see, we hear, and we also have our equipment too. So we have our our that grow too. Well, you they used to call me baby woo because baby woo was my nickname for a long time because I in the woo world, I was just a bambi, like fresh, like I had no idea.
SPEAKER_05What's the woo world? I'm so sorry.
SPEAKER_01You know, like spiritual new age. I've never heard that expression ever. I only know the Wu Tang clan, right?
SPEAKER_03Like it's like Protect your neck.
SPEAKER_01Protect your neck. It's kind of like woo-y, like the woo-y-witchy world. Like witchy, spiritual new age. We we call ourselves, yeah, woo. Yeah, and Tan is like, you know, like a master who's a master woo because she's been in this world her whole life, it's who she is. Okay. And I was baby woo, and I just was like, teach me all the ways.
SPEAKER_03So speaking of which, you guys were gonna you uh you were saying you're going to wellness retreats, and then us talking there, I made my little joke about us going there and saying like the power of grace compels you and all that stuff. And you guys told me so you you have uh Reiki, and you were saying about like spiritual healing and stuff like that that you guys do. So talk a little bit about that if people don't know what that is. Uh I guess with Reiki, because some people may I I know what it is. I heard about it actually years and years ago, but yeah, some people may not know.
SPEAKER_01But Tanya is the master reiki. Oh, you're the master reiki. Oh, it's still baby.
SPEAKER_03Okay, you didn't say that you actually did the Reiki.
SPEAKER_01He's master of all the things, just know that all your things. He's master of it all.
SPEAKER_03Master of the universe.
SPEAKER_00Well, all this world is my whole life, right? It's uh it's just my whole life. So it's what I do, it's what I read, it's what I watch, it's what I practice. Right. So Reiki is like energy healing, you know. Yeah, it's just you're able to channel the energy, because there's energy, we are energy, everything's energy, right? So we're able to pull that energy in purposefully, right? And then channel it through our hands. So with that, you can detect things in people's energy fields, right? Because we have an aura, so we have a field that goes out about six feet from our physical body. And so by working, when you tune yourself, you can really start to feel the different, like, oh, something's going on there, okay. So that's why when we said, Don't worry, we got your back. If we watch each other too.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, so backstory uh if we got invaded by a poltergeist tonight, because we're doing a ghost tonight.
SPEAKER_03We're gonna be doing a paranormal investigation of the Halifax Club. Our friends of the Halifax Club.
SPEAKER_05So this is the last time you hear my voice, uh, you know. We've got you. We got you. Okay, I'm gonna go.
SPEAKER_03That's where the power of Christ compels you came from.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, so all the fire.
SPEAKER_05So this energy thing, like that that's fascinating to me, too. Because it's something I know so little about. Now, I know people that do Reiki to help with traumatic like PTSD and stuff. I've heard this before. So, um, do you have a practice? Do you do this for folks today?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. I'm actually a holistic natural path.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_00Um registered, you know, you come see me. If you got health insurance, I can write it off.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And I do read.
SPEAKER_05Health insurance covers it. That that I mean that that's legitimizes it in itself a bit. Yeah, so it obviously provides some people some comfort regardless of what you believe or what you don't and all those things. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I always say basically the worst thing that can happen is you're gonna leave really relaxed.
SPEAKER_03Fair enough.
SPEAKER_00That's it. Cool. You know, like that's that's the worst case scenario, is you're gonna be way more relaxed when you leave than when you come. Right.
SPEAKER_03So yeah, very cool, yeah. That's true. Yeah, worst case scenario. Feeling relaxed isn't the worst thing that can happen to you.
SPEAKER_05So back to this story. Okay, so 2019, you've now checked out a couple of houses. You guys started seeking out some houses that might have been haunted, and this evolved into uh a bit of a YouTube show or TV show. Tell us about that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so we were we were recording everything that we were doing. Yeah, and we would just put it online. We'd have Facebook groups and we'd put it up, and people started watching us and following us. Now we had a different name back then, we switched names again. This is our what was the name back then?
SPEAKER_05Yeah, what was the name? Are you allowed to say it?
SPEAKER_01Sure. Okay, so our first our first group, there was five of us, and all beautiful women, everyone's really nice because we were all doing the business together, like putting all this stuff together.
SPEAKER_03These were the people in 2019 when you all met up. Yeah, right. You guys all did it together. We did it all together.
SPEAKER_01It was a group of five, and we called ourselves the Spirit Medics. And then from there, a couple people dropped off, it wasn't their thing, you know. And then we ended up moving into when that kind of dissolved a little bit, it's just shifting, life shifts and changes. We moved into Witches of Wellness. Uh, there was two of us, then three of us for Witches of Wellness, yeah, and then life shifting changed again, and then Soul Seekers were born, and that was just me and Tanya. So that was when we decided to we're gonna do this, and it's gonna be just uh like parallel investigating um and using our gifts and our tools, and because a lot of it before it was getting in the early days, we weren't sure who we were, what we wanted. We were doing spiritual, we were doing everything in this. We're doing healing, we're doing drilling circles, we were doing everything and everything. And then when we decided to hone in on source Soul Seekers Paranormal was when okay, what do we want to focus on? Because we were doing like too much of everything. So now we just like to bring our gifts into what we do as opposed to try to heal everyone and do everything.
SPEAKER_05So you guys got a website? We do seekers.
SPEAKER_01Soulseekers paranormal.

SPEAKER_01So our YouTube uh is up there. We just started, so when we were in the middle of rebranding, I mistakenly deleted our old YouTube channel.
SPEAKER_05Oh did you lose all your videos this week?
SPEAKER_01We did.
SPEAKER_05So we had to research. I ghost did that.
SPEAKER_01So the YouTube channel's new, so we're trying to build the channel back up again because we lost a lot of stuff, which is fine. It's it's fine. We're not part of the journey. It's all part of the journey. We're not scared of you know restarting.
SPEAKER_05I don't know if I believe in ghosts or not. Okay.
SPEAKER_01Wait till you see two nights. Okay. It's gonna make you a believer.
SPEAKER_05Can you make me friends with a ghost? Like, could I like like mix buddies with one? Like, I always thought it'd be cool to have like a ghost mentor with a millionaire mindset that would help me, like, kind of, you know, just be a very rich businessman. Could you could you?
SPEAKER_03We're going to Halifax Club, so I guess this is the guy who's doing that.
SPEAKER_05I figured we're going to the Halifax Club, so like well, they got some good affluent uh ghosts there, maybe.
SPEAKER_01We can ask. All we can do is ask the ghosts and see what they say. We can't answer for them. They're like people, right? Yeah. I'm not gonna make up your mind.
SPEAKER_05Let's in the Halifax Club. You heard the story about the Halifax Club, right? Like, yeah, listen to the podcast. So that's a pretty crazy story, eh?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03So there's probably gonna be a lot of activity going on there.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, so we should probably retell the story. Can you retell the story or would you just tell people to listen to the old? Well, I mean, people listen.
SPEAKER_03I mean, go back and listen to my uh Megan McDonald episode. Yeah, talking about the Hell of X club. Talking about the Hellfax Club. And then also, like, they'll probably go through a little bit on your when we record tonight, like with video and everything. So also go listen to their episode on YouTube. Yes, we will all over again.
SPEAKER_01What we're gonna do is so tonight we're gonna investigate. We're gonna take you on your first investigation.
SPEAKER_03Cool.
SPEAKER_01And it's gonna be mind-blowing because I'm really excited to get it there.
SPEAKER_05I think I think it's gonna be so cool. This is a cool spot from a business, you know, my my ghost mentor mindset. I would say that like there's probably a lot of people out there that would be love to be taken into an in-depth investigation like this. Yeah, I think. Is that something you guys are considering offering?
SPEAKER_00Well, we tend to post tours. Yeah, well, we kind of tend to do that in our journeys. So we went to two falls ago, we went to Salem, Massachusetts, we went to uh North America's most haunted forest. Uh we went to the Lizard Forest. I don't know where that is. Where's that? Uh Fall River, Freetown State Forest.
SPEAKER_05The most haunted forest is in Fall River? Not here. Massachusetts. Not here. Massachusetts.
SPEAKER_02There was a lot of the same names, though. It's like Fall River, and there's tons of the same names.
SPEAKER_03There is, all New England and all that stuff. Okay, so I got a couple things to unpack here because there's a couple things because I'm really excited about tonight because I love paranormal stuff.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03And when I was like eight or nine years old, I read Blue Nose Ghost for the first time, and I think I've read it probably six to eight times since then. So I'm obsessed, right? So I'm really looking forward to this. Um also uh you're on another show, which we'll get to in a minute. You're on another show uh with Paul Kimball. Yes. And uh I uh I watched a show that he was on, I think it was through East Link, like 15 years ago, maybe? I don't know.
SPEAKER_05So who's Paul Kimball?
SPEAKER_03I don't uh we'll let her explain that in a minute.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_03Um but the uh so one of the things that like because I get a little bit like kind of obsessed with this and everything, uh like 15 years ago, uh I don't even know if you were on that time or whatever, but I remember him. So uh and he went and investigated the Algonquin, the hotel, which is the hotel that Stephen King wrote The Shining at, based it off of. So what happened was I saw this this little East Link documentary with him that he did it, whatever thing was like 40 minutes long, everything. I was like, that's so awesome. The place looks beautiful, I'm obsessed. And it was like, I don't know what it was like, six, seven years ago. Uh my wife and I were looking to do like some maritime kind of a road trip, and I was like, we gotta save the Algonquin. I'm obsessed with this place, we have to go. And we did, and we did the ghost walk, and we went in the basement, there's no light. My wife, who is like agnostic, whatever, like not sure, whatever, not whatever, right? Like gripping on to me because they were saying, like, oh, voices like cockti in the basement, and like all and there was like someone who was pushed out a window, like the bride committed suicide or something. All this crazy stuff at this place. And the only reason we stayed at this hotel is because like I saw a like ghost documentary once, and I want to stay there to see if we see any ghosts. And so, yeah, so like did you see any ghosts? I didn't see any ghosts. I would have loved to, honestly. But like, so I've I I know Paul, so like you can explain a little bit what the show that you're on and who Paul is and all that stuff too.
SPEAKER_01Sure, yeah. So uh I've on his show called Haunted, it's on East Link, Saturday nights at 10 p.m. Yep. And I came in on season seven. Okay. We just wrapped three days ago. We just wrapped um uh season 12.
SPEAKER_03Awesome. So there's been 12 seasons of this haunted show. So it might have been that show, Haunted, that I watched. It might have been season one. It might have been that, but it would have been like 12, 15 years ago that I saw it.
SPEAKER_01Maybe, maybe. But yeah, he just lost stuff like he's very UFO, you know, and uh aliens and stuff. So yeah.
SPEAKER_05The name's familiar, that's why I had to ask Paul Kimball. I mean he just rang a bell.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_05The old Eastern case, I guess.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, you were for Eastern, maybe that's it.
SPEAKER_05So let's ask you guys about ghosts. So how um when can this is a personal question you can't answer, that's cool. But like, so when was the first time you saw a ghost?
SPEAKER_00First time I experienced a ghost, really?
SPEAKER_05Experienced that spirit realm where you where you were just it never left you. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So I've had like paranormal type experiences pretty much my whole life. Um when I was really young, I knew how to spry in a mirror, and nobody had ever taught me that. I just would turn the lights down so that is, yeah. I'd turn the lights down in the bathroom, have a candle, and then I would stare myself in the mirror. And then when you look at yourself in the mirror, things will start to, your face will change, you'll start to see things behind you.
SPEAKER_05Did you smoke a joint before that? No, I was like okay, okay, yeah. Because I've been there, but I mean under different circumstances.
SPEAKER_00No, none of that. So I mean, that eight, nine years old, I was doing that, right? I didn't know what even what it was. So carry on to probably, oh, I'm not sure, 20 some years ago. I had I I had I have three daughters, but I had my two older daughters at the time, and we moved into this old farmhouse, and my girls started experiencing things like like they would say, Mom, they're playing with the toys in the closet again.
SPEAKER_03Well, that's like the creepiest thing ever when kids talk about that. The creepiest thing ever.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and so they had their own experiences, and in the same house, uh, just really strange things would happen. Um I remember sitting in the in the living living room, and I heard something jump off the counter in the kitchen and walk towards me and stand right beside me, and there was nothing physical there, but you could feel it. Like, and it was a big thing.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I had dishes fly out of the cupboards, I had my car starter, like the toggle thing, pushed right down while it was on the on the visualization-wise, do you see like a face or like an entity or anything? I have sometimes. The first time I saw a shadow person was in another house about in New Brunswick, and we came face to face with each other. So I went down the hallway because I heard a sound, and I went to turn on the light, and a gray figure, or a black figure about five foot maybe tall, was looking right at me, and it was just pure black, and then I looked at it, it looked at me, and then we both ran.
unknownHuh.
SPEAKER_00And I scared it, and it scared me.
SPEAKER_05It's crazy.
SPEAKER_00So, because it wasn't expecting me to see it, right? Because not everybody sees them. So yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_03So you know what? That's actually really the interesting thing that I'd like to ask you, is uh, because this is another thing. I remember when I when I first met my wife and we were talking about ghosts and stuff like that. She firmly believes that like and I was like, I don't know if that's true, but she firmly believes that if you don't want to see them, you won't. Just straight up. Like if you're like, I don't want to be f afraid, I don't want to whatever, then they won't. I'm kind of comfortable on that ship.
SPEAKER_04I'm just like, I don't really want to see these things. But you know what though?
SPEAKER_03But like there's so many people who like who would not want to be afraid that do have experiences that are scared shitless.
SPEAKER_00Well that's why I'm gonna be able to do it.
SPEAKER_03So I'm like, uh yeah, that's fair too, yeah.
SPEAKER_00So I'm like we help people realize it's not that scary. I mean it's really not. It's just like people, they're just like, and just like there's jerks in real life, there's jerks that have passed on.
SPEAKER_03But what about like truly evil spirits?
SPEAKER_00So like to deal with that. We don't deal with that a lot. Okay. We truly believe that when you go in with that intention, that's what you're gonna find. If you're looking for dark stuff, you're going to probably find it. We go in with lightness and laughter, and we put out that energy, so that's usually what we attract. Not that darker things can't come in, but we usually tell them to go away. Because I don't I don't like that the energy they bring, it feels yucky, hey, like when you say it feels like mixing.
SPEAKER_05And then to you, I'm curious about you also. So going back to when you started thinking of this ghost thing was for real.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so I'll do it quickly. So I do I'm a Christian, I still go to church and all things. Um, and I remember one thing happened to me when I was very younger. Uh, it was in a dream, and but it was like I was awake, but I was a dream, but it was real, and it felt like actually Mother Mary had come to me, and I thought that was cool. And so I thought that it was like almost she was that statue, the one you see standing. She was so clear in my dream, and I felt like that was very vivid. And so I know that's a little spiritual thing that I had like that. Yeah, but then what really happened to me for paranormal, I've always been obsessed with paranormal. Um, I actually worked on one of Paul's movies a couple decades ago, and uh I remember most looking for boards and stuff because we were filming in a multiplication, so the interest was there, but it was about 15 years ago, I'd say, where I was talking with one of my friends, we were just having lunch, and we were just having a conversation, and all of a sudden it was like I just went almost into a panic attack in a way, like anxiety, and I didn't know what was going on, and I saw a figure in my here, like somewhere here, it was like an outline of like this man, and I could describe exactly his face. And and I said, like I'm I said to her, I said, sorry, I'm not paying attention here. I know you're talking to me, but I feel like something's going happening. And she was like, talk to it. And she doesn't even remember saying that, but she looked at me and said, Talk to it. So I'm like, okay, so I was like kind of in my head thinking, like, what do you want? And then I got all these messages that came through. I talk about it in our podcast actually about because it's a long story, but I I basically connected with her grandfather, her grandmother, and her um cousin that was that had just recently passed at the time. And I had no idea any of the stuff I was saying and telling her. I didn't know any of this stuff, and she was just blown away. And then come to find out like a couple months down the road, she showed me this picture, and it was the exact image I had in my head that I saw of the grandfather, and I almost fell off the coach because I was like, That's that's the man that was in my and I'd never seen that picture before in my life, but it was the exact photo. She went, she showed me the image, and so I had so then I was like, So I called my mom and I had told her all about this, and she was like, Oh yeah, that happens to me all the time. And I'm like, What? Like, yo, what do you mean?
SPEAKER_05She goes, Oh no, weird she like she was scientifically weird too, because you know, I mean, there's two two ways you could think about that. And like my my little my squirrel science brain says, like, uh, you know, family passes on, you know, genetic whatever. Um I'm not gonna sound very intelligent here, but stay with me. But like, you know, uh so so if if your parents have visualizations or memories, maybe some small form or inkling passes to you that that can resurface or something. Actually, it's funny you say that.
SPEAKER_01Not just about the paranormal y psychic-y stuff, yeah, but um, there's a fear that I've always had, and especially in one part particular, in Fall River, when you drive down the Fall River, just past the LWF, there's a a lake in the city.
SPEAKER_05So we're back to Fall River, Nova Scotia now, not falling in the room.
SPEAKER_01Yes, yes, there's this black lake that like I always drive by, and I always say I have a fear of driving around this lake, and my mom said the same thing. Yeah, and I tell my I was telling my mom, I said, I don't know where I get this fear from because I have this fear every time I drive by a body of water, I get nervous. I think about how I'm gonna escape if I go under the water in the car. It's every time if I'm driving by driving by any body of water, I think about how can I escape this car if I'm to go in the water. And I tell my mom this, and she was like, That's really funny. She goes, Before you were born, I got into a car accident and they were going under the water. They were about to, mom had to think. You know, she actually said to the girls, her friends, that they all went into the water in their car, she was like, We're not dying today! And she like kicked the kid off, she grabbed the backpacks because they were young and they like flew out of the out of the car. So that memory must have been transferred to me in racial trauma because racial trauma, yeah. And Tanya knows my crazy fear of water. Like she helped heal me with some fear of water.
SPEAKER_05And even on like how people can turn into their own fathers or their own mothers, you can rebel your whole life, but then one day you're like, God damn it, I'm just like him.
SPEAKER_02You know, I just like that guy.
SPEAKER_05We had to the exact same things, right? And uh, you know, so that's so I don't know. I I I see I see that, but I guess sometimes when when it's just like I I had a I vision when I was very young of this really tall lady standing at the foot of my bed and scared the shit out of me, right? I remember that now, and I'm still I'm like 40 now. And this I saw this when I was probably like 17, 16, right? And it was kind of like um actually a video game recently kind of did a very similar thing. They had a tall lady in a white dress and like kind of gothic and scary looking, and uh uh it scared the bejeces out of me. But then I I mean my brain said, okay, you know, you were just half awake, half asleep. I've been diagnosed yesterday with sleep apnea.
SPEAKER_00I was just gonna ask you if you had sleep apnea. I was literally just gonna ask you if you had sleep apnea. So there's a connection. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05So that's the thing. Uh what's the connection? Okay, now you got me curious. What's the connection of sleep apnea and and and tall like lady looking at those are like the shadow figures.
SPEAKER_00And oftentimes, like sometimes they will you'll feel like there's something sitting on your chest. Yeah. You'll wake up and you'll feel like you're frozen in your body, and something is sitting.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. What that is is that you're snoring so loud that even the spirits are like shut the fuck up.
SPEAKER_05They're driving their little spirit cars down to my house, and they're fucking either yelling at you. They're just like, oh.
SPEAKER_04Why have I stopped breathing? It's like I want to shut the fuck up.
SPEAKER_01So we didn't answer your question about how you say um if we do ghost hunts and stuff, because we were saying that we go down to the Oh my gosh, sorry, yes. That's okay. We went to like little Lizzie. We were just gonna give an example. Like we went to the Lizzie Borden axe murder host out. That's awesome. So we were there and we met a really cool girl there. She was so awesome.
SPEAKER_03And so Do you know who Lizzie Borden is? Yeah. Okay, yeah.
SPEAKER_05Okay, so we were She's like uh Hannah's Hannah, right?
SPEAKER_03Lizzie Borden took an axe, gave her father 40 wax. When she saw what she'd done, she gave her mother 41.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, exactly. That's sounds like a nice girl. So we were there, but we met a girl there, and then we invited her to the Freetown State Forest. She'd never met us before. We threw her on our white van and we go for a nose hunt. We go to a, you know, we go to a pub one night. Yeah. Uh girl that uh, you know, uh follows us on Facebook, joined us at the pub, we threw her on her van, and we went to a great car. Yeah. So I wasn't joking.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. We even have candy in there sometimes. We always have candy.
SPEAKER_03You have candy in a white van?
SPEAKER_00Always have one. My nickname is snacks because I have snacks everywhere.
SPEAKER_05I thought your nickname was like baby wolf. We were going to be able to do that.
SPEAKER_02You've got a lot of nicknames.
SPEAKER_03Nicknames for days. So, okay, so I I have, like I said, I've never been on an investigation, but I've had some uh spiritual adjacent things happen. Uh, when I was 14 or 15 years old, 15 years old. First uh first Halloween of grade 10.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_03Um it's the first and only time I ever played with a Ouija board. And me, one other guy, and two girls in high school, we were like, they were like, let's take the Ouija board and like, let's play with it on Halloween. And I was like, that's awesome. Let's do that. And I was like, hey, by the way, I know this old Anglican graveyard that's in the middle of the woods. Let's go. So we went.
SPEAKER_01Oh sounds bad. So we went sounds so bad.
SPEAKER_03So we no joke, we like some like some the the girls bring candles and we have the Ouija board.
SPEAKER_01I thought you say candy. I was like, yeah, candy. Maybe it was Halloween.
SPEAKER_03Um so we sit down, we get everything set up, we're lighting the candles and all this stuff and everything. And uh uh the guy who was with me, his his last name was Murphy. And no joke, I'm telling you, this is an old graveyard. Like the guy who the like elementary school is like named after was buried there. It's like 200 years old. And he we settle up, light all the candles, and he turns around and looks at like the gravestone like he was sitting in front of. Brand new gravestone says Murphy, no date on it. And he was like, We're not sitting here. So we're getting we we move we move like a little bit away from it, we set up, start playing with the Ouija board, and everything was kind of like fun at first and all that stuff, and we were like, whatever, whatever, right? And then we were asking each other, like, are you moving it? Are you moving it? Whatever, and we were like, no, whatever. Anyway, the board started acting a little weird. And we were like, okay, this is kind of weird, and like it was getting really weird, right? So then I was just said, okay, you know what, goodbye, let's let's go out of here. This is like, you know, goodbye. The wind comes through. And we're in the middle of the woods, so it was the weirdest thing. So we get up and we're we pack up and we go. And as we're going, we were like, you know, we were going to a party later, and we're just like, oh, we get some time to kill. I was like, hey guys, I know another old graveyard in the woods. This is out in Heron Cove and everything. So I was like, I know this other graveyard in the woods. It's basically dilapidated, let's go there. And uh we decided to go there, and then they were like, nah, that's too far away, let's not go that way, or whatever. Um, and uh we end up going somewhere else in like kind of the woods and set up the board again to try it out. And as soon as we started, this wind comes, just the wind comes through, and the same whatever entity was answered because we asked names, right? Same entity answers, we said, no, screw this nonsense, pack it up, goodbye, see you later, go. And so when we start walking up this street called Village Road, and there's an old Anglican rectory, I think it's Anglican Rectory that's up there. And um, as we were walking up, it's not a rectory anymore, it's a house. And as we're going up, walking on the street, uh it's so it's a two-level house. There's a uh so like two-pane window in the side, a sw a single-pane window in the middle, and a two-pane window in the end. And I I was looking and I was like, oh, I see there was something like, or it looked like someone was like, it was dark though, and everything, right? Looked like someone was staring out the window. And like that. It was in the center window, like the center center, right? And me being me being obsessed with the super the supernatural and everything, I'm sitting there going like holy shit. And then I looked around behind me, the other three must have saw it because they were gone. They left me, they just completely bailed. And then I was like, Well, I'm gonna run after them. So I started running after them, caught up, and I was like, hey guys, what was up? And they're like, No, we saw that. Nope, we were out. We played with the Ouija board, now we're seeing something, we're out, and we ended up going, okay, well, let's take the long way around and we'll go and do go to our party and everything. And we did. And the crazy thing is, is like we told the person who was hosting the party, and they were like, Nope, that thing doesn't come in my house, leave it outside. And the Ouija board. And the crazy thing is we left it in their backyard, like at the door at the backyard, and when we left the party to go, the Ouija board wasn't there anymore. No one ever saw it again. So that's that's one s story that I have. There is one that I'll share with you guys that I don't share with many people that I'm not gonna share on here just because it's like it's pretty long and pretty intense.
SPEAKER_04I can say you're not gonna share it on the thing.
SPEAKER_03You can take it out then, I care.
SPEAKER_04No, no, no, wait, this is this is not we're not editing this one.
SPEAKER_03This one's going wrong. You know, it's not.
SPEAKER_00That's how we like it.
SPEAKER_03But it's not me. We're not I I just want to share that one story, but no, I'm just joking with you. I want it's not like interview Matt about his experiences. The shortest Ouija story ever.
SPEAKER_05Yes. Uh uh got the girls one or girl, uh Gracie one for Christmas this year. Uh a couple days later, her and her cousin are over. She takes him to the bedroom, play around with it. And me and her old her the older cousin, the we go down, we flick the breaker off and on just to see how they react. They scream pretty loud. They scream really loud. Yeah, yeah. Bit of fun, yeah. That's good. That's a good one, yeah. My shorter story. That's a shorter story. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So it doesn't really sound pronounced.
SPEAKER_03No, that's not normal at all. Me being a dick. Just sound normal. You know how you said that there's like ghosts that can be dicks?
SPEAKER_05Live person. If I was a ghost, I'd just play pranks to people all day. That's all I do. That's true. That would be great.
SPEAKER_01We have a pact, actually. The first one to pass away first has to haunt the shit out of the other one. Yeah. Give us really good clear evidence.
SPEAKER_03There you go. That's good. That's cool.
SPEAKER_01So that's our pact.
SPEAKER_03There you go. So, okay, so you you said so you said you were you were Christian. So how do you like kind of rectify that? Because like sometimes people I think that dealing with the occult and Christianity.
SPEAKER_01Because I do have a strong faith, like I really do, and like I really do believe, you know, in my faith. Um, but you know, and I go to church and my minister, she's not mad that I ghost hunt. She knows I ghost hunt. So if my minister's okay with it, it's like, well, she's the minister, she's fine with me ghost hunting. Um it is, I do I do have some, you know, Christian friends that question, like, how can you be a Christian? But you also do this. I'm like, because I feel I got gifts and God gave me my God-given gifts. If I got gifts, then I feel that's what God gave me. And I I think a lot of it is intention too. Uh I don't go looking for evil, dark, devil, gross that stuff. I really don't. Um, the intentions we go under when we go do things is we're looking for good in stories, and some of the stuff that happens, it's it honestly, you can't even you can't even plan half the stuff that happens to us. Like the people we connect together, the loved ones that come through for people. It is special and it's beautiful and it's good. And so that's why we like to call ourselves our tagline is the feel good investigators, because we're not looking for the bad. We push that away. But in in in in alive life, there's good and bad people, just like on the other side, there's good and bad spirits. And in in real life, I don't really associate with bad people, and so I'm not gonna go looking for them on the other side either, right? So that's how I kind of feel, and you know, we all have our own belief systems and you know, faith and stuff like that of what we believe in.
SPEAKER_05Are you are you Christian yourself? No.
SPEAKER_01No, she she has a triangle. She's like, she has um cool uh I'm a cult survivor. She's a cult survivor, so she's very normal. No way. Yeah. I don't know if you're gonna say it.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, so do you want to tell us a little bit about that, or you'd rather kind of give a person?
SPEAKER_00That's a whole different podcast. Well, she on our podcast, don't you talk about it? Yeah, no, I so I was raised with the idea of God, devil, evil, hell, purgatory, all that. Um, but then like I said, I was crying in the mirror at eight years old, not knowing what I was doing. So that was always a struggle for me because I was like, I had all these gifts. I I could heal things with my hands as a child, like little animals and stuff. So here's all these things that were demonic, supposedly, but like I'm like, but I'm doing them, and it's not like it just I couldn't reconcile. Absolutely, yeah. So it's like I couldn't reconcile what that was telling me to what my personal experience was. So yeah, I'm not I'm not I love I love that baby's a Christian, it gives her people, like she that's something that's important to her.
SPEAKER_01So um we've developed our own uh kind of so we we kind of pray to God's spirit universe. So I believe in God very much, I believe in the power of the universe, I believe the power of spirit, so we call it gus. We prayed. Gus, okay.
SPEAKER_05So uh I gotta ask about the cult a little bit. I'm so sorry, it's just like it's true, that's actually fascinating. Roll off the tongue. Uh uh so like did this happen in here in Canada, in Nova Scotia, or in other places?
SPEAKER_00Well, in in Alberta. In Alberta.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, and and and how did you was it your family that goes to the is a doomsday religion.
SPEAKER_00Okay, you know, the world's gonna end all that stuff.
SPEAKER_05So you know, yeah, so you just kind of started following the kind of crumb trail and just kind of roped into this thing?
SPEAKER_00No, I was raised in it, so you're raised in it. Yeah, so I'm not gonna really say what it was, just to respect the rest of my family. But um, it's you know, we're raised thinking that you know, or ever again, you know, the end of the world, you know, it's coming any, so any big storm or there's a lot of birds, like it's a sign, it's coming, you know.
SPEAKER_03So I can see how that would turn you off from like traditional religion and things like that.
SPEAKER_00And and I do love the idea of Christianity. I do love you know, so there are certain things in that that I still hold in my heart, but I just I study metaphysics, I study like astrotheology, I study all of that. So I have a very mishmashy kind of way of of looking at the city.
SPEAKER_03I do too. So I was raised, I was raised Roman Catholic, and I was Roman Catholic right up until about I was uh funny thing is I was 29 is when I walked away, so about 10 years ago. It's coming up to my 10-year wedding anniversary. It's actually my wedding. I got married in the Catholic Church, but it was actually my wedding that caused me to walk away. Um so that's a whole other story. But uh the So the thing for me is I, you know, I started exploring a little bit more and I always found different faiths and different religions and the idea of a deity very, very intriguing. And I kind of feel that a lot of people, uh whatever faith, religious, or whatever, like to put their deity in a box.
SPEAKER_01Right?
SPEAKER_03And they like to go like boom, this is it. But if you kind of like think about what a deity is, all powerful, like omniscient, and it's like I think of it as like a teacher, right? My wife's a teacher, so this is why I use this analogy. She has 21 kids in her class, and she has to know how to reach 21 different kids who will all probably live will learn in 21 different ways. And so she ha as a human being, as a person who just has to learn how to do that, why, and she can do that, then couldn't it make sense that a deity, all knowing, all-powerful, create universe, whatever, set the big bang off and go and all that stuff. Um why couldn't that reach people in different ways? So I'm kind of like, that's why I don't really judge people based on like what they believe or what they do or whatever, because it's like whatever ex I kind of like look at myself as like a like just like a a deatist, I guess. Right? It's like I I believe in science. I think a I think a cre some sort of creator would not set the rules of science and then defy them. Uh so something could have created it, right? Um, and then beyond that, I don't know how much it would get involved in our everyday lives. I don't know, right? Right. But if they if it does, then it would probably want to reach people in different ways and how they want to learn and how they want to find their peace and blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. So that's kind of like I guess my thing is like I could see how different people connect in different ways in a spiritual way, kind of thing, right?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, well I mean you even look at like the old gods, right? Like if you lived, you had your village by the water and you you know your life and death was dependent on whether you could catch fish or you know, all those things. Well, the gods that are gonna be attractive to you are the gods from the water, right? Because that's your life. Yeah. So same with you know, if your tribe's in the middle of the you know, middle of the woods, you're gonna be more prone to like those types of demons, right? So it's it's what your experience is and how your perception is of the world. So, you know, there's to me, I don't like if if something gives you peace and and it's something you're gonna cling on to when you're taking your last breath from this world, then that's a good thing. It's funny though that's how I look at it.
SPEAKER_05You talk about like a uh uh the cult being connected to Armageddon, and that's something that's so prevalent in media today. Like if you look at like video games and movies and all this stuff, the eclipse, all of the biggest things in the world always goes back to Armageddon. And like uh, funny enough, like what some of the only video games that ever interested me were the ones that was like in a post-nuclear wasteland. Right? You kind of emerge and you gotta rebuild life. Those were the video games, right? They're only ones that I really thought were really fun to play.
SPEAKER_00Maybe there's something deep within our subconscious, like something that goes way, way back of like when our ancestors were wiped out by something, right? And maybe that's past the thing.
SPEAKER_05Yes, and everything just ending brings uh a tremendous comfort level to just live your best life in the moment or however it is, or whatever. I don't know.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you know, well, and for me, it's like I was raised like that, so then everybody's that's a collapse. I was like, oh, the world's gonna end again, whatever. I'm like, you know what I mean? Like I'm so like desensitized to I'm like, no, it's not. Well, wake up, cheese date, it's fine. Yeah, yeah, exactly. We're gonna be fine.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, super interesting.
SPEAKER_03It's really interesting. I I just this thing, and you know, we're sitting here and we're talking, we're talking about how like you know we should all just get along and spirituality and all that stuff, and I think for the most part, most religions have the same or spirituality or faiths or whatever you want to put it, have the same thing in common for the most part. It's about salvation, it's about like that peacefulness, like the peace, right? Be a good human. Well, exactly.
SPEAKER_05I mean, that's fair to say, but that's fair to say, but like, and I I'm not trying to be the end, but there are religions right now with a lot of very harmful messages that are getting to people.
SPEAKER_03But those are people though, right?
SPEAKER_05Right? Like people can be corrupted, right? Well, no, no, it's not people, it's the books that they were written. Like there's words in the books that tell them to bring harm to others. It is almost in every one of the books, including Christianity. So not to be like to like I don't have any problem.
SPEAKER_01No, no, no, I understand.
SPEAKER_05I understand. I mean, I I guess I guess I I my problem with religion is like if you're using it, how you use religion, if you use it to better yourself and to better other people, that's beautiful.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, intentions, what I was saying.
SPEAKER_05Intentions, sure. But but religion, unfortunately, especially in other parts of the world right now, are used a lot for harm and hatred.
SPEAKER_03Listen, one of my favorite things to do is to argue with Christians about Jesus.

SPEAKER_03One of my favorite things to do. Because I think a lot of them just get it wrong, right?
SPEAKER_00Like, well, I can just that's Christ consciousness. I look at the Christ as Christ consciousness, which is love. Like it's love.
SPEAKER_03Oh, you know what? I I I get I I like to get people riled up a little bit. I always I always like to say Jesus was a liberal. And like people get all riled up about it, and it's like, yeah. And the funny thing is Do you think Jesus was a liberal? I don't mean I don't mean capital L liberal. Do you think Jesus was a liberal? Can I ask you that question?
SPEAKER_05I don't mean capital L liberal. That's a fun question. Not the brand. You think Jesus would have been a liberal in Canada?
SPEAKER_00Jesus was a sacred rebel.
SPEAKER_03I'll proved you that he was.
SPEAKER_01I'm just gonna keep listening to what you said.
SPEAKER_03Because here's the thing back in back in the day, and and I mean like small L liberal, not the liberal party. Okay, okay.
SPEAKER_01That's what I thought you meant. I was like, what?
SPEAKER_03No, no, no, no, no, no. Absolutely not.
SPEAKER_01This is what I thought you were saying.
SPEAKER_03My face is like what I mean by that is that when you think about liberalism, it's like it's going against the conservative nature of like this is the way we do things and we don't change things. But you know, if you read the New Testament, Jesus was flipping tables and calling out the Pharisees saying, like, listen, like you've been doing this, and you know what, you're not doing it right. You think you're doing it right, but you're not. And he was telling people, like, stop praying out in front of temples and showboating, do it in your closet. Like, that's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_02I love the rebels. I'm all that stuff, right?
SPEAKER_03So that's what I when I mean he's a liberal, I mean small elves. Yes, I know what you're saying.
SPEAKER_02Okay, like yes.
SPEAKER_03But everyone gets all done. I said that on uh Instagram one time, and I had like so many people come for me, it was crazy.
SPEAKER_01I can't imagine. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Oh yeah. But anyway.
SPEAKER_01You know, when they say in topics of conversation, you're never supposed to talk about politics and religion, and we would effectively talk about politics and religion.
SPEAKER_05We do that. Those are my favorite things to talk about. We throw it in all the time. All the time. Yeah, yeah. Life's too short. Just say what you're thinking. Who cares? Yeah, that's our motto.

SPEAKER_03It's and and actually how so kind of how we like how I reached out to you is that uh we um it was through uh they did the Henley House. Right. So Becky, who we uh like had a little chat with at one point. So yeah, we yeah, I've known Becky a while. So um yeah, I saw the Henley House, I saw I knew I knew Becky. That that's honestly what caught my eye, because they she shared it and like it was on the Henley House and all that stuff. And I was like, Oh, I like this stuff.
