Welcome back to the podcast. If you are new here, I'm Rae. I'm a somatic coach and breathwork facilitator, and if you aren't new here, welcome back. I'm so glad that you're tuning in for today's episode.

Today earlier, it's a Sunday before I'm recording this episode, and I was able to go for a bike ride this morning with my husband and then we ended up going down to the beach and it turned out to just be a beautiful day. So I'm sneaking in this recording of this episode and after this episode, we are going to go over to our friend's house, sit on the porch, eat dinner and it's just so nice to have like a typical summer beach day. I love it. So for today's episode, I'm going to keep it brief. I usually plan out my episodes in advance, and this week I just didn't have the chance to, and so I wasn't able, uh, to really plan out something, and I didn't want to skip a week either. So I decided that I'm going to share a bit about the upcoming events that we have going on this month, because June just started, and then I'm also going to share with you a breathwork practice called breathwork for rest, and this is an example of the kinds of practices that will be in the studio, which is an online and easily accessible resource library of breathwork, meditation and sound healing practices that I am hopefully coming out with soon. So fast forward if you want to hear the breathwork practice and keep listening if you'd like to hear more about this month's events.

Okay, so our first event for this month is actually today, when this episode is being released, june 5th. It's held virtual, it's online. It's with Rachie Jo, who is a fitness, nutrition and health coach, and she is wonderful. We're going to be collaborating on a workshop, a masterclass. It's called Stress and Bloat Free for the Summer, so it's all about nervous system regulation, breath work, how to really eat and feel good in your body so that you can be bloat free, and that's the part that Rachie Jo will be talking more about, so she can definitely speak to that a little bit more, but it's going to be a great workshop. We have I think we have a little bit over 10 people already signed up, so please come join us. I'll leave the link in the show notes for that one.

And then this Friday on June 7th will be the next mini retreat for this season. It's called Jupiter in Gemini and I talked about this one a little bit on the last podcast episode, but you will receive an astrology reading based on where Jupiter falls in your chart and where Gemini falls in your chart and what that symbolizes for you. There will also be somatic movement, sound healing, reiki, breath work and a meditation for communing with your divine team, so really connecting with your spirit guides and having that spiritual connection through the breath. So really really fun, really cool. Our last one was so much fun and this is a great collaboration with so many different practitioners that are all lovely. Corey will be there, she does massage, laura does Reiki, erin does meditation and Reiki, and then Sarah does the astrology readings and then myself I'll be doing breathwork. So definitely come down. It's in person at Reiki Shores, right in Island Park, and I'll leave the link in the show notes for that one as well.

And then next up is on Thursday, june 13th, and this is a breathwork and sound healing experience in person, also at Reiki Shores, and these group workshops have been going so nicely. It's all about relaxation, relieving stress, relieving anxiety, and it's nice because it's half breathwork, half sound. There's meditation and then there's also time for you to share about your experience. What's nice about these group classes is that they're nice and small and not an overwhelmingly large group of people. So it's really nice because you get that kind of really personalized connection and it's just a beautiful space. I love you being a part of Reiki Shores and working there. So definitely come on down that's also in Island Park and send me a DM if you have any questions about that one.

And then towards the end of the month, on June 27th, I'll be teaching breathwork and sound healing at Yoga Shack, which is right in Bethpage, and this is also a great community. I love being a part of Yoga Shack's community. Everyone is so nice, so welcoming and it's just a great place to be. So as that comes closer, I usually pick a theme for that monthly class based on what's happening at that time. So I can't really say what it's going to be, because it's usually just intuitive, but I know it's going to be great. So if that interests you, you please come on down. I'll leave the link in the show notes. And then at the end of the month, on June 29th it's a Saturday morning at 8 30 am, I will be hosting the master class of the month. And that is virtual, it's right on zoom. This is.

These ones each month are always so great. It's, again usually a small group of people, which is nice, so you get that very personalized connection. And the theme for this month is all about reflecting on the year so far. So we're in June, so we're six months into 2024. So we're going to be doing kind of like a envisioning and reflection practice where you're going to really be able to celebrate yourself, really be able to connect with the joy that you can feel based on all of the things that you have accomplished and also check in with where you're headed, like where do you want to go, what are your goals, what is your vision and are you taking action towards that vision? So there'll be some journaling, there'll be some meditation and there'll be some breath work as well. So there'll be some journaling, there'll be some meditation and there'll be some breathwork as well. So I'm really excited for this one, and if you have any questions about that, let me know and I will leave the link in the show notes. All right, so those are all of the events for the month of June. I am going to finish this episode with breath work for rest, and this is a sample of a breath work practice that you can find in the studio, and I really hope that you enjoy it. My intention for this practice is to support you in finding calmness, presence and resourcing, for today we will be doing the halo active breath, which is inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth, and our mantra for today's practice is peace brings me joy, peace brings me joy. I will be guiding you the whole time. This practice can be done sitting up, laying down or while you're going for a walk. Let's get started. I want to invite you to close your eyes, beginning to drop into your body and starting with three cleansing breaths inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth, inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth. And one more breath, just like that, at your pace, allowing yourself to become present, to connect with your body and welcoming in our mantra peace brings me joy, peace brings me joy. And beginning that halo active breath inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth, inhaling through your mouth, inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth.

And continuing that breath pattern at your own pace, noticing how your body feels, allowing it to take a moment and connect with your breath. If there's something that you can release, something that is on your mind, on your heart, allowing your breath to move that through your body with each inhale and with each exhale Knowing that you are safe and supported.

Speaker 1:

Peace brings me joy. And sticking with that breath you're seated, really feeling your seat on the ground, feeling the floor or the chair beneath you supporting you, feeling that connection with the earth, the floor or the chair beneath you supporting you, feeling that connection with the earth. And if you're out for a walk, really taking in the surroundings the sounds of the birds, the feeling of your feet, with each step as you walk, peace brings me joy. And as you breathe, noticing how your breath can shift and move energy, you are cleansing your energy field. With each breath, letting go of what's between you and rest, with each exhale and with each inhale, inhale, you are filling up your energetic cup, connecting with the earth and your surroundings and welcoming in that sense of inner calm and sticking with that breath and in the last few seconds here of the active breath, really making that connection with that inhale, with that exhale, with your body. Peace brings me joy. And when you feel ready, releasing that active breath, allowing yourself to notice how your body feels, calling in our mantra peace brings me joy, peace brings me joy. And meditating for these last few moments here, thanking yourself for showing up, for your practice today for filling up your energetic cup and connecting with your breath and your body, and what you might need today, in this moment's episode.
