Let's look at a few of the benefits of having fun with other women, shall we?

There are benefits to be had whether you want to expand your circle of women or nurture existing friendships. Here's a few reasons to engage in fun activities with other women:

Number one, you lower your stress levels. Fun helps you release tension, be in the moment, and relax.

Number two, you get a mood boost. Your natural feel-good chemicals called endorphins are released when you have fun.

Number three, you connect more easily. In the context of fun, it's easier to lower walls and engage with other women. Fun acts like a gateway to new acquaintances and friendships.

Number four, your self-esteem is amplified. Fun activities with other women help you feel appreciated as part of a community and valued when other women listen to you and share with you.

And number five, you feel more satisfied with life. Think about it, my friend. Fun, connection, community, lower stress, better mood, higher self-esteem. Of course, you feel more content!

Now that you know a few benefits of having fun with other women, I want to kickstart your imagination. Whether you're thinking of fun for a group or just for two, I hope these 10 ideas inspire you to fit fun with other women into your life more regularly.

  • Plan a long lunch with a friend in the middle of the workday. 
  • Walk and talk with an acquaintance, friend, or a group of women.
  • Arrange a girl's trip to meet in a central location or stay in town for a friend's staycation. 
  • Find a local or online women's group. Attend a few of the events to see who you connect with. 
  • Schedule a recurring video chat with long-distance friends. 
  • Join a women's group centered around an activity you enjoy. 
  • Start your own women's group if you can't find what you're looking for.
  • Have a slumber party with your closest friends. 
  • Travel with a women-only tour group. There are so many options out there now!
  • Take a class with an acquaintance. Choose one that taps into your creativity. Painting, pottery, dance, improv, cooking. It helps you discover common interests and gives you a shared experience to bond over.

One thing to remember, however you decide to have fun, I encourage you to be open to making the ask.

If you meet a woman and would like to get to know her better, ask her to join you in something fun. If it's been too long since you've connected with a friend, tell her you miss her and plan some fun together. 

There are two sides to this, my friend. On one side, a beautiful opportunity may pass you by if you do not ask. On the other hand, an ask may result in a no thank you. 

Know that when you choose to make the ask, you must also be open to a no. It may feel difficult to ask knowing this, so I encourage you to see it as a time and effort saver.

Ask, and you know right away if there is more to explore with the woman you met. If your friend says no, you may learn about something she's going through and offer support if appropriate.

This is a great way to have one hour of one-on-one time with me to talk through whatever you want to talk through around your wellness and well-being.
