Anna Okerhjelm currently serves as the Studio Director at Pophouse, an interior design agency headquartered in Detroit, MI. Her professional work is definitely something she's proud of and yet that's only a small slice of the pie that represents who Anna is as a person.
Ahead on this episode, Anna takes us through the experience of existing within spaces that she's designed and I learn that there's wayyyyy more that goes into designing a space like an office or hotel than I ever imagined.
Anna walks us back in her story and talks about how a relationship brought her to the City of Detroit (against the recommendations of people close to her) and how that transition impacted the rest of her life. Anna shares her story of losing her partner unexpectedly at a young age and walks us through her experience with infertility which taught her some valuable lessons about control and design (ironic, right?)
